After breaking up with my boyfriend, I vow never to date a physician again and avoid workplace romances like the plague. Seeking an escape from bad memories and hospital politics, I apply for a job at the Perfect Match Virtual Fantasy Studios, where I hope to explore fantastical scenarios and beta-test new experiences.
I have no intention of entering a new relationship anytime soon, but it is difficult to ignore Kayden, a fellow trainee who’s good-looking and charming but regrettably has aspirations of becoming a physician.
Hoping never to get paired with him to beta test an experience, I choose the Valkyrie adventure. It seems like a safe bet to avoid a guy like him, who would never select an experience where the female is the kick-ass heroine and the man only gets a supporting role. However, the algorithm has other plans in store for us. It seems to think that we are a perfect match.
I love every book in this series, and this one did not disappoint! Both the FMC and MMC have a mutual attraction, but pre-assumptions about the other try to derail their romance before either will give each other a chance; both in the real world and in the Perfect Match scenario they go through together. In the real world Leah's prejudice against doctors as a lover sours her attraction to Kayden, a Paramedic with a recently broken heart, whose goal is to finish medical school. In the Perfect March world, both consider the other inferior to themselves and not up to the job at hand: namely sending demons from the earthly realm and fighting a truly bad*ss Elite demon who is using Demon Fire, which is normally confined to the Hell realm. The mingling of different theologies and deities made the storyline so much more interesting than expected. Also unexpected was the group effort that was ultimately required by the Valkyrie and the Earth Witches. Sacrifice is required by both of their alter-egos in the Perfect Match world to let their avatars be together, which naturally just reveals the positive aspects of their real-life personalities that lets them have their happily ever after.
The clan gossip goes like this... I.T. Lucas, riding shotgun upon Freya's feline escorted chariot, was allowed to drive when the Valkyrie Queen passed over the reins for 14.3 seconds. Her majesty was grateful for the brief reprieve to partake of liquid refreshment whilst telling travel tales. The rest of the hair-whipping trip, Freya regaled the true narrative of her prized Valkyrie warrior's ultimate final battle. As payment for the ride between worlds, Lucas was bidden to tell that story to all her devoted fans; and hold the royal spear. Therefore, we have another Perfect Match episode more potent than Odin's cologne and Thor's physical appeal.
Not gossip: I thoroughly enjoyed The Valkyrie and The Witch. Isabell's word-witchery had me suspended in another perfect world beyond my own imagination, subdued by anxt, tears, joy, sacrifice, true love, and magic. I pray the same happens to you!
4.5 stars! Two people, hoping for something better in their lives, jump at the chance to get a job at Perfect Match and find they are required to go through a session that their clients may go through. (What could be better!?) The story finds her as a Valkyrie sent to Earth to battle the demons who have breached the veil and are sucking the life-force out of children. But she is forced to work with witches, which were forbidden by Odin. Let the fight begin! The stories lines in Perfect Match are always fun stories to read. The struggle everyone goes through with each other during the session is practically guaranteed to bring two people together, it's exciting and as always, you get your HEA! * I was give an advanced copy for an honest [always] review *
This story was very enjoyable and filled with a lot of adventure. It was nice to finally see the behind the scenes or the workings of The Perfect Match Virtual Fantasy company. The adventure is very detailed and filled with many interesting events pulled from Norse mythology. I found that I was so into the story of the Valkyrie and the Earth Witch that when it ended, I felt like they did and wanted to go back. I enjoyed all the interactions with the gods and goddesses and the help thy provided. It was a very rich fantasy experience.
OMG, I am so hooked on both of Isabelle's series! The Children of the Gods I've read all of them and can hardly wait for the next book to come out! But, I'm also hooked on the off shoot series Perfect Match stories as well! I get lost in the storylines and find I have finished them and find I'm waking up from a dream too, but I get to find out what happens to the couple after their session on the system. I so can't wait to read my next book! Do yourself a favor and invest in her books! You won't be sorry!
The Valkyrie & The Witch, book 9, of the Perfect Match series, by Isabell Lucas @itlucas_author. This series is an interconnected set of standalone books that is a spin-off to The Children of the Gods series.
First off, I am a fan of Isabell’s & this book was no different! I loved the dynamics of Kayden/Daniel & Leah/Kara, especially in their Perfect Match scenario. Amazing book as always!
I received this #ARCBook early and for my honest review.
Perfect Match: The Valkyrie & The Witch by I.T. Lucas is one of, if not the best books in the series. The characters will grab you from the beginning till the very end. There are intense, scary, sensual moments throughout the story. The virtual world is so intense that you'll forget you are inside a virtual story within a story. I would give this book more than 5 stars if possible. Ms Lucas has out done herself with these characters and the world they build together.
I am a fan of the perfect match series! They just keep getting better and better every time one comes out! With Kara bringing her Valkyrie abilities and Daniel bringing his Witch abilities, together they make a pretty fearsome couple! It takes them both to figure out what is killing people at such a rapid rate and to put a stop to it. Of course they meet some opposition along the way, and also pick up a few friends. This was an awesome read, very hard to put down right from the beginning!
I love how these stories start out with a couple (Kayden and Leah in this one) that through one means or another end up in the Perfect Match virtual reality story. Each one is unique in its own way. I also love the "Easter egg" in this story which alludes to the COTG series.
Omg! I.T.Lucas has done it again! I felt like I was literally in the same world as the characters. Anyone who loves escaping reality and entering a world of wonder would love these stories. Romance, fighting and adventure all rolled as one. I'm a sucker for books like The Princess Bride and each of the Perfect Match books give me the same feeling.
Initially, I had a difficult time initially getting into the story line but after that initial slow start, the story blossomed. This story is about evil manifestations that must be defeated by Odin and Mother Earth representatives. The ensuing love affair only adds to stories development.
The are my guilty pleasure for sure. They are easy to read but full of action and adventure, I love the romance and the suspense, they take me back many years to a mills and boons reminiscence!
Another amazing adventure I thoroughly enjoyed it This series alongside the Children of Gods series is an all round winner for me I have yet to find any of the books boring and I excitedly await the next ones
I totally enjoyed this book. Great adventure and totally believable characters! I was so into it I was sad at first when the characters were brought back to reality!! But I loved the ending and I'll be looking forward to more from I.T Lucas for sure!
