A unique connection to essence is key to protecting the empire.
Dax and his friends have settled into their roles at the Academy. They’ve stopped another attack, which has gained them notice, but also allows them a measure of freedom in their studies. With Desmond now serving as headmaster, they think everything will be different. Better.
But the flows of essence are changing.
Those who study such things don’t know what that means, but all agree it’s dangerous.
When asked to travel north during the term break, beyond the unclaimed lands, Dax has little choice but to go. What he finds changes everything he knows about essence—and what it means to wield it.
And it just might be the key to destroying the Order for good.
Don't miss this exciting Progression Fantasy series from bestsellers Dan Michelson and D.K. Holmberg. This is coming-of-age magic academy fantasy with a weak-to-strong progression into power.
I love both these authors and the plot is really good. But the amount of grammar, names of characters and other items were awful. The names of characters were switched and the grammar was not checked. If you need someone to read your book before publishing, please contact me…lol. Sometimes it was difficult to tell what was happening because of the wrong names..Rebecca instead of Rochelle. Normally I wouldn’t say anything but there were sooo many!
Dax and his group are asked to go beyond the Empire to see what is happening to essence. They meet the L’haran and Dax is called the bearer. The great Seperant gifts Dax with more power and he uses it against the Order. It was a great story of how students could battle Against the order and win. Dax has grown in his powers with all his Challenges.
Very good and captivating story line but unfortunately due to the grammatical errors and the character name changes it was often difficult to follow the plot.
