Rate this book
Some things that happen in the dark should stay in the dark, but that never seems to be the case. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Niya Brown learns this the hard way. The code of the streets is passed down to her from her mother, and to Niya, the code of the streets is law. Life deals Niya a bad hand that forces her to fend for herself at an early age when her mother and sister are taken away from her in a twist of fate. You will never believe what happens next. Truth and falsehood collide in a way that brings Niya face to face with a secret that will change her life forever.

Eyone tells the story of revenge, secrets, and loyalty. Jazz lived for her sister Niyah and did anything to take care of her and protect her once their mother went to jail. Niyah loves her sister with everything within her. When her sister is killed her whole world is shook and she is left to care for herself. Loyalty is questioned and revenge is sought when secrets are revealed.

This was not my first book by Eyone. I really enjoyed the read and the storyline flowed well. There were some editing issues and at times there was quite a bit of name dropping. There were secrets that seemed to not yet have been revealed, and I would be willing to read a sequel to see what other secrets are revealed. I recommend this book to all readers who like drama-filled books.

This was my first read by Eyone and he did not disappoint. Niya is living a very happy life until her sister Jaz is murdered. With her mother being in prison serving 22 years, she has no one to help her survive except her sister's boyfriend Jay. Jay really seems to care for Niya and helps her as much as he can. Everything seems to be going great until Niya loses her job and some information falls into her lap that will change her life forever. This was a very fast paced story and I was very drawn to the characters. I also recently say a interview on Eyone and found out that this book is based on the life of a friend of his. Great Read!

Interesting

I can't remember how I came across this book. But it was very interesting to learn about the drug trade business & the murders that are often pointless

What can I say, Eyone Williams is a master storyteller who has showed he is not a one hit wonder. Eyone tells a story of girl left to fend for herself. A girl who quickly becomes and woman after she finds out that she is on her own. Although, you get the impression that she is young and dumb, the writer weaves the story together and in the end you are wondering how did we get here. I definitely recommend this story to all.

This book was a good read but I felt sorry for Jay and was never sure about if he really did that to the sister.
