I enjoyed this book but it seemed rather short (I would say not a novella as such). and for a cross over I would have liked it to have been longer, so both characters got to show off there talents. I liked at first both amateur sleuths suspecting each other, it was fun the way complete strangers needed to work together to get to the bottom of the murder. It was fun to see the characters without there usual backups in toe and a great way to simple two fun series. As it was short there wasn't a great many suspects but the killer was a surprise and I was half right on the motive. I am not really sure why the two dogs features so prominent on the cover because while there was dogs they didn't really come into it that much. I hope to join up with them again for another mystery.

When the manager fails to return from his job the pair suspects foul play and when they discover the body it seems they are right. But who is responsible? With suspicions rising they will have to work together to find the killer, that is of course if it's not one of them.

I wanted something quick and simple to read, and in that sense, it did what I wanted & needed it to.
But as a whole? I feel like I might have enjoyed it more had I actually read the two series this novella ties into. Maybe one day I will and then re-review.
Since I haven't, though, I never really got to connect with the MCs. And with how rushed everything felt, a little connection really could have helped.

Meh
Should have stopped 25% through but it fit a category for a reading challenge I'm participating in. Cora is an over stereotyped nosy know-it-all senior who just annoyed me. Only time I liked her is when she was questioning Max. Samantha was okay. Overall story was a bit trite and cliche.

Fun Cozy
Such a good time even though it is around the murder of a young man working at the Inn where Cora and Samantha stay. Cora won her time there in a contest and Samantha is there secretly to review them. Good humor and tense times throughout the book.

Enjoy it. Easy reading
I found this book to be the 1st mystery with no romantic involvement. It was refreshing to stay focus on the suspects. It included two humorous sleuths. Very entertaining book.

This was such a fun cozy that had me turning the pages from beginning to end.
The setting was a mountain resort and I enjoyed the two main sleuthing characters. They were certainly the odd couple thrown together by circumstances but learned to work together.
Cora Bing is an older woman who has won a trip to the resort. She was unpredictable and outspoken. Samantha was there to secretly review the resort. After determining they are each not the killer they learn to trust each other and bond together to find the killer of Kent the manager. There were a few fun moments between these two sleuths.
There were some tense moments in the book as well and suspects and motives are discovered.
I didn’t figure out the killer to the end. A quick and enjoyable story.
