One of the best heroes ever!! To have a man like Linc who would literally do anything for you like he would for Blair, would be amazing. Talk about devotion. He's an ex-homicide detective, and an all around good guy, but he would have hid a body for her. Now that is loyalty and devotion.
Linc is intense, possessive and very protective of Blair. The best part? He was hysterical! While I'm falling for all that intensity, I was also laughing quite a bit. He was just so playful. It was a fun read.
Blair was a bit more hesitant. You could tell she has some past issues to deal with but she was also a fierce. That girl can kick butt. I love a heroine who can hold her own. Usually that kind of independence gets in the way of a possessive man, but not with this girl. She actually handled his intensity exactly the way I like to see.
This may be instant love on Linc's part, but it also had that slow burn romance you see in a friends to lovers story. This was just all around awesome!
Holy alpha goodness!!! This was an AMAZING read with characters that had me laughing and smiling the whole time. I gobbled this up as quickly as possible despite wanting to take it slow. No way could I close this book once I started!
Linc and Blair have been partners for a while. They have a deep rich past of trust and security with each other, despite a little incident that had Blair wobbling a bit regarding her partner. When they’re sent on an undercover assignment, they learn that they’ll be going in as a married couple and suddenly all the emotions they’ve tried to keep hidden comes pouring out.
Blair is one tough cookie. She doesn’t take flak from anyone and she definitely knows how to hold her own. Fiercely loyal, she will always be there to watch Linc’s back, no matter the cost to herself. Dealing with his quirky humor, she was more than capable of giving him back what he dished out. I absolutely loved her.
Oh man, Linc was all kinds of delicious! The prefect alpha hero who would do anything to protect his woman all while he displays some serious possessive and jealous moments that made me grin, swoon and fall in love. He has the greatest sense of humor that those around him are constantly correcting him about but he just plows through life seemingly without a care in the world. But holy heck! When it comes to the bad guys, he might be smiling, but he’s not playing around.
Together this couple were so much fun! They had me smiling most of the time and when I wasn’t smiling I was cheering them on as they raced to find the villain of the story. There is definitely no question regarding their chemistry. They set my Kindle on FIRE! Oh my gosh, they were hot together. Everything about them was pure perfection. They were perfect for each other and I absolutely hated to see their story end.
This is a fast read, at least for me due to gobbling instead of savoring, with so many wonderful characters - some we’ve read their stories before and some still to come (can’t wait!). The case they’re working on was multi layered and the danger and drama from it only highlighted the hero’s and heroine’s personalities as well as the deepening of their relationship. Did I say I hated to see their story end? Definitely my new favorite C.E. couple ever!!!
HIGHLY recommending this to anyone who loves a feisty heroine and a strong protective/possessive hero both of which will do anything to protect the other!
We return to the Wilde Ways series with book seven; Crossing the Line finally giving us Blair and Linc’s story. I have loved these two in previous books in their roles as secondary characters, so I was excited to see what Cynthia had in store for them.
This is an author who delivers for me, I know when I open one of her books I’ll be sucked into the story, get virtual whip-lash from the twists and turns and root for the good guys and gals to win the day. My rating attests to the fact that things didn’t quite hit the spot for me with this one, and whereas I would usually read a book by this author in a day, it’s taken me three times as long this time.
"I don’t want to lose you… I don’t want to lose us."
I struggled through the first half, the whole fake honeymoon in paradise to catch the bad guys all felt a little rough around the edges, and I really hated the persona Linc employed in order to fit into the role he was playing, the second half was marginally better but I just didn’t find Crossing the Line holding my attention they way this authors books always do usually.
Still packed full of twists and turns, and the final realisation of Blair and Linc’s real feelings for each other, just not my favourite in the series in general. Cole is up next, and I am fully expecting that Counting on Cole will deliver like all of the previous books in the series have.

I’m just going blame it on the cabin fever that I have. I ended up not hating it. 🤷🏻♀️
Hero had me laughing. That’s all I’m going to say.
If you want safety, here it is: both celibate since the moment they put eyes on each other. Meaning no nookie with other parties after they met. The heroine did date a few men. Nothing more than kisses.
Linc was THE BEST! From page 1 itself he stole my heart with his antics. Wild, carefree, fun, witty and dangerous- he was the complete package. An unforgettable hero. His witty comebacks and one liners were my favourite. Author did such an amazing job with his character. Likewise Blair Kincaide was a badass. They had such a unique connection from the first meeting. Linc was obsessed with Blair and they both gave each other unwavering trust and support.
It doesn’t hurt that, this book had all the interesting tropes- friends to lover/partners to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, possessiveness. Wilde agents were such a brats to each other. It was a joy to read their interactions. Their bromance was the best. Made me laugh all the time, even at dangerous situations. For me, the mystery was a refreshing and interesting concept. The plot wasn’t as straightforward as I first expected. It was more twisted and difficult to decode, which i loved.
Standalone, safe and I strongly recommend this series.
Another great addition to the Wilde Ways series. I wasn't as super interested in this book, or I should say, as desperate to read, this book as I was Ghost of a Chance. However, I really ended up liking it. Linc was funny and protective all at the same time. Blair was tough and soft, a great heroine.
We also got to see James and well, swoon! I love him so much.
💗 James grunted. “I didn’t get just tied to her. I got obsessed. Fell head flipping over heels. And I would have killed anyone who tried to hurt her.”
Gah! His love for her will never get old to me!!! Swoon!!!
Linc and Blair have to go undercover as a couple at a private resort to find out who is kidnapping the wives of some very rich men. While it seems like a pretty simple case, there are quite a few surprises in store.
Cynthia does such a great job with the little twists and turns in her story. The story wasn't at all predicatable and was super fun to read. You get some hilarious moments between Cole and James that just had me rolling!
Linc is a closet romantic and you can't convince me otherwise. The ring piece was totally swoon-worthy.
Highly recommend! While Ghost of a Chance is my fave, I think people who enjoy Cynthia Eden books, will like this one as well.
Quotes & Faves:
♥ He liked working with Blair, too. God, the woman was cute when she was mad. Her cheeks got all flushed and her eyes sparkled. The angrier she became, the brighter the sparkle. Not that he would tell her that. He didn’t have a death wish.
♥ Hell, I’ve memorized you, too. Every curve and dip of her body. He could find Blair in the dark, no hesitation at all. He could find her anywhere.
♥ "I know you. Inside. Outside. Hell, I would know you in the dark.”
♥
♥ His face turned serious. “You are my entire world. There is nothing I would not do for you. I’ve been yours since the first moment I saw you.”
Linc I'm pretty sure why his woman asks him questions she knows the answer to, “eff, yes, I’m joining you. Like, was that even a question?” Linc is so supportive, “if you do slip up and kill him, don’t worry. I’ll either get rid of the body or I’ll help you get out of the country.” I liked this book, I loved Linc.
This series is a surprise for me as some of the books in this series are sooooo good, like this one!
Linc is such an awesome hero and his complete and utter devotion to Blair was so heart melting. His sense of humor at the most inopportune times was so funny and endearing. He comes across as just plowing through life without a care in the world but this is his way of having people under estimate him.
I like my kick ass heroines and it is an additional bonus when they don't have hang ups about being in a relationship. Blair was that heroine for me, I really liked her and I liked that she was just as devoted to Linc as he was. I did forgive her for trying to protect him by running off on her own.
This was a quick, fast-paced read and it scratched my suspense itch for a moment. I loved that Linc knew Blair was it for him and finally decided to admit it. Though Blair was more afraid to own up to hers given her fears from her past, it was nice to see Linc make her feel safe enough to open up but also not allow her to hide from him. I liked seeing how well these two knew each other and how strong their bond was, as well as how their colleagues seemed to be rooting for them and unsurprised that they were finally together.
This was Linc & Blair's story that we get to see in the previous books... Love, Love, Love this book❤ it kept me on toes, guessing what'd happen next💥 & the twists... Omfg!😍
Linc & Blair are sent on a mission to a paradise that has became the destination of latest hell. Kidnappings had happen. One is killed. They'd to be the bait, luring the killer out.
Linc has to be close to Blair, for her safety (Not like she needs it😏), while also controlling his desire for her.
Until she's not safe. Until They're shot at.
Linc would do anything for her, & she was almost shot in his arms. Imagine his fear?..
Secret desires come pouring out at night, but danger pounces next.
She's kidnapped, killers took the bait. But everything's not as easy as it looks.
Blair's kept secrets, the same thing she was mad that Linc has kept (once😅), Now her past has came to blow her up. Literally.
The Killer is with them every moment, closer than they thought & Everyone's a suspect.
My fav❤ :
“Sometimes reality is far better.”
“You stayed with me, I'll stay with you.” Like he said...Rock Solid.
Oh gawd! Blair and Lunch certainly made my top 5 favorite book couple so far this year.
Crossing The Line was an epic, dangerous, passionate and suspenseful story that instantly made my heart race, melt and had me flipping the pages. I didn't want to put the book down nor did I want to miss anything.
Linc was full of surprises. He was charming in his own way, all alpha and 100% determined to be there for Blair and protect her, even when she was determined to do things on her own. And Blair is a definite likable heroine who certainly knows how to take care of herself. These two had amazing and heartfelt chemistry that was impossible to resist. I adored Linc and Blair's story!
Crossing lines gets an UNFORGETTABLE FIVE PASSIONATE STARS! You can't beat a romantic suspense book by Cynthia Eden. No way, no how!
I really love this series. In this book, we have the friends to lovers trope, and I like that they’re truly best friends. Linc’s been in love with Blair from the moment he met her, but he also values her friendship and won’t do anything to jeopardize that. They’ve been partners for a few years now, and she’s the most important thing to him.
A few books ago, we saw Linc go off on his own cowboy-style and Blair didn’t take it well. They stayed partners, but it’s been hanging between them. In this book, they’ve been called in to an undercover case. They’re posing as newlyweds at a private tropical island resort because two women have been kidnapped from that resort and ransomed back. The idea is that they pose as ridiculously rich and incredibly in love newlyweds hoping to make Blair a target. The owner of the island doesn’t want authorities brought in, and knows Erik Wilde well enough to ask this favor of him.
So Erik sends in Blair and Linc, with Cole working backup.
Blair has secrets in her past, and she’s worried that they might turn Linc away from her. She doesn’t want him to ever stop being her friend and she’s worried her past is going to be a problem. It’s best to keep him as her partner and best friend, rather than try anything else. Even if she dreams of more at night.
From the moment they enter their roles, Linc realizes playing the devoted new husband will be no hardship, but at what point does he stop pretending? Once he and Blair cross the line from friendship into relationship, will they continue on once the case is over? And the case isn’t going to be as open and shut as they had hoped. While it looks like the kidnappers definitely see Blair as a target, what Wilde doesn’t know is that Blair’s past is going to catch up to not just her, but all of them. This story didn’t go where I thought it would, and I loved Linc and Blair.
I love LOVED how they both tried to play the “I don’t want to hurt you so I’ll leave you card,” but they realized that they work better together than alone. I really love when a hero and heroine can become a strong team and work together. This book definitely rocked that! Linc was great. He was a fun and funny hero and I’d like to see more like him! I love the growly alpha possessive hero, and he definitely was. But he’s also adorable. This series is shaping up to be my favorite of Ms. Eden’s Romantic Suspenses, and I love how each story has such different heroes, yet they all can maintain that growly “mine” type of hero. With her intense plots and intriguing characters, each book has been a 5 star read for me.
This had everything you could want in this series. Crazy hot chemistry, exciting action, and a whodunit that isn't super obvious. I loved this escape from RL and am loving this series. Highly recommend! It certainly works as a standalone, but once you're finished be warned you'll want to start at the beginning and read them all.
i liked this the same way i like all of her books, don’t even have much too say they’re kinda the same formula but i love getting back to these when times get rough on tiktok loving books books with cheating ass men
This is another great read by this talented author!! I love this series and have already preordered the next one. I highly recommend this entire series!
Wow Link is possibly the most growly, possessive hero I’ve read about in quite some time and oddly that also made him quite endearing. Blair is everything I like in a heroine but she’s also a bit of a surprise but my lips are sealed ! As for the couple being undercover as honeymooners in Paradise well that was as amusing as it was hot ! I do enjoy this series with its larger than life characters but I particularly enjoyed this storyline as it felt very different to previous books. Written as usual with this authors trade mark heat and it’s certainly leading the way for the next book in this series but for now it’s all about Link and Blair and the fact that they finally get to be partners in every single sense ! This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
Oh My Gosh let me tell you Linc is the most protective alpha I’ve ever read. He is definitely my new favorite in this series. Sorry Ghost!!! I still love you to. Blair is no shrinking violet she’s a badass take charge woman. They have been partners for a while now and they both want more but are afraid of messing things up. When they go undercover as husband and wife watch out. It’s hard to know who to trust but Blair and Linc always have each other’s backs. Any time I pick up a Cynthia Eden book I know it’s gonna be a winner. We did meet a couple of new characters in this book so I hope it doesn’t end anytime soon. Cole is up next finally.
So ... confession. I'd actually DNF'd this book in the past :X [clearly I did not note that though? So ... not sure when it was that happened.] I thought "maybe it was a library loan that expired" but ... no - I bought this book when it was on sale... So ... yeah. The first time I read it I got to about 25% and was like "ugh."
... So this time I was more for Linc and Blair cuz I saw them help James in his story. But oof. The first ~quarter is a drag. It's ... there's like nothing HAPPENING and not just that there's no communication and it's the same damn thing over and over and ...
... also parts are getting a bit repetitive although I DEFINITELY admit like ... most people don't read like 10 books or whatever from the same series in like a week or so? Still.
I LOVED SEEING JAMES OPERATE. Heh. MORE OF THAT PLEASE.
Anyway with the whole "faking" shit and ... ugh. And then it's ALL THE THINGS HAPPEN and these two do NOT communicate well and a lot of it is just "intuitive" cuz they "know" each other but like ... we ... haven't seen it? Unless there's a lot more of that from book ... in just books 4 & 5? Cuz there were hints of it definitely in book 6 but not a lot - and like, the way they kinda jumped back to square one at the beginning of this book I was almost like "wait ... did.... did that car accident happen yet?" Which CLEARLY cuz Blair had the scars but ... the ~faded lines like ... [ok we ... if you didn't know - I heal VERY slowly] - but it made it seem like book 6 was years ago?
Anyway in this case I did not figure the baddie.
A LOT of this felt really familiar though so maybe I read/skimmed it?
And the thing is ... I like Blair. I like Linc. I like them together! I just ... :X wasn't that invested in their story. And that makes me sad. I was almost kinda skimming their sex scenes - ok so I was - cuz it was just ... IDEK.
And it felt like they .... I don't know like they went in TOTALLY BLIND on this mission. Granted there were a lot of misdirects etc but just like .... they seemed super careless. [Also I'm too paranoid? Like when/how Blair is taken and they ALREADY suspected dude. Although there definitely were a lot of suspects.
And the whole "I'll protect you and leave you behind" and like ... obviously working alone is shit?
I don't know. I'd say this one is more a C - - -
... It's higher than a D++ though .... ..
.... C - - - - ?
I did like the ending and the rest of it and I didn't figure all the baddies in there. And the interrogations were fun. And I DO really like Linc's sense of humor/how he's ... a jokester UNTIL HE IS NOT. ... I do think it is SUPER VAGUE with Blair's history. And I loved how "scary"/badass James is but I wanted mot DETAILS on things and SO MUCH LESS on others.
I'm just a HAIR more "I liked it" than "it was okay" but ... I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could.
Even after finishing it, I am still wondering... what even was that? lol
I might have expected something different but overall I still won't say I hated it. It was okay. Decent. Though I am still feeling very much unsatisfied. With a lot of things. Mostly I did not buy the ship. I can't really point my finger on it but this whole thing lacked chemistry. There was so much tell instead of show and overall OTT behaving... I was missing the actual core of this relationship and why I should root and care for them.
That being said, I was not a fan of the writing style. The POV switch was fine but overall it felt like it switched in the middle of a paragraph? Sometimes I was not even sure who was "talking" right now. It confused me up until the end. There were also phrases that had me roll my eyes or laugh out loud like good lord. And quite some things were repeated even word for word so yeah...
Overall, I think this book simply tried too much. It wanted to over this hot as hell romance and all with a crime/thriller section but in the end it failed on both ends. I mean at the beginning I was first bored and then just waiting for them to actually fucking talk and get on with the romance. It didn't really happen for another 2138983 pages it seemed. Then there was this suspense part but OH MY GOD. It really was a perfect example of an author acting like look I am smarter than you, you silly reader. It was so incredible OTT, it made me laugh out loud so much. And just toward the end, when I thought... oh now we are getting somewhere it all looked like there was a point and all, Eden pulled a few more stunts/twists and ruined the part that actually had me entertained and somewhat excited.
I think calling this book "nice try but ending up OTT" would sum it up best. And I don't even mean this for the security and agents and all stuff here. I might be a bit interested in Cole's book but expecting that this might go the same route as this one... I think not. It's just too OTT for me that it all just looks ridiculous in the end. And hey, I like James Bond movies most of the time but this was too much even for me.

Another romance to devour by Cynthia Eden !
I came across Cynthia Eden's books a little by chance last week and I haven't stopped reading since ! Each book brings out secondary characters that make me want to read the next book ... ><
This was the case for Blair and Linc that I loved in Ghost of a Chance (they made me laugh a lot and then Linc's reaction when Blair nearly died ... Phew ! )
As a result, it was with great pleasure that I read their romance : colleagues and more so steamy but also cute, a plot on a paradise island with twists at will and very endearing characters (I can't wait to read the book with Cole !!)
In short, a romance that I read with great pleasure just like the other books of the series that I am binge-reading like crazy ><
Linc and Blair are secret agents or detective spies that are working towards trying to solve these strange murders/kidnappings on this private isolated island. They have to go undercover as a newly wed couple who are going to spend their honeymoon there. There is a lot of near death experiences and many characters so if you want a light mystery/romance I think this is a good one!
They have been partners for a long time and are a strong pair. I liked the beginning of the book and the type of jobs and mission the book had. I hadn’t read a book with two secret agents working together do this one was interesting.
The plotline got a bit chaotic with who was really in control of the murder and scheme. There are a lot of moving parts and other characters such as Nicole, Edward, and Cole. At least for me… I didn’t know who was behind everything till it was revealed at the end.
I thought that the characters were cute and enjoyed their playful dynamic.
Even though it was fake “dating”, I didn’t feel like it was overdone. I think ways the book could have improved are
- More backstory. Like we knew they were partners and were close and had each other’s backs… but I felt like some flashbacks or “3 years ago” or “2 years ago” chapters could have showed us more of their relationship and how it grew so strong
- So was Blair’s name really Blair? I think I was a little confused on that.
- I didn’t really KNOW the characters. Like nothing about their family, interests, hobbies…I think it would have been nice to have a bit more character development earlier in the book.
Overall eventhough there were a couple of things that I would have liked changed, I rounded it up 4 stars simply because I thought this book was pretty entertaining.

Very good! The Wilde series books are always full of action and entertaining.
So Blair and Linc are partners who have shown sexual tension in a couple of the previous books where they are secondary characters. At one time we thought Blair was going to dump him but the draw was there and she didn't let him go.
Here we have Blair planning on taking time off and going on vacation only to have Eric (The Boss) demand that she a take a case where she and her partner pose as a honeymooners on a private island resort where women have been kidnapped for ransom and one even died.
Linc and Blair arrive on the island portraying themselves as head over heels in love. She's stunning and he's supposed to be a very spoiled, arrogant, rich boy. They play it up really good. But the sexual tension cannot be denied no matter what Linc does to try and stop it.
While running on the beach Blair notices an man she knows. She did a job long ago where she retrieved a painting he had stolen. She tries to out run him. When Linc shows they try to maintain her cover.
Later Blair is shot at and Linc is grazed. Linc plays it up really good. His antics show how much he loves his "wife" and how spoiled he is as well.
Later that night, the butler brings chocolates and champagne from the resort to try and smooth over the attack. After mind blowing sex, the two have some candy and go black.
When Linc awakens in the LATE morning Blair is missing and he realizes he was drugged. That leads to the conclusion that Blair has been kidnapped. He goes crazy demanding they find her.
The rest of the story is full of action and twists. Well worth the read!
Overall I enjoyed this book. It was quite fun, and I do have a soft spot for super capable badasses in book form. Well, I enjoy it as long as both hero and heroine are capable badasses.
This author still has that classic romance trap. By making our male lead just such a badass that it ends up positioning the woman as weak in comparison. If he's attracted to her and wants her, he's suave and charming. When she is attracted to him and wants him, she stumbles over herself and is awkward. And that's repeated over and over again. If there's any physical conflict, she can handle herself as long as he's no present. If he's present then she barely manages to protect herself and at some point he will have to step in to keep her safe. When she's not there, he is a total badass and handles himself with no issues. This is something that happens in every single book in this genre, I swear to god. Ilona Andrews does this in the Hidden Legacy books. Anna Hackett does this in her Norcross Security books. Kaylea Cross does this in the Vengeance series (and all her other ones). Eden does this in this one and in the 10th book of the series. I'm willing to put money down that she'll do this in the next one as well. I really wish authors would stop. He's still going to be hot if she doesn't need him to save her. And that can't be solved by the author just writing her saying "I don't need you to save me." You need to show it in your writing. They'll toss in the occasional book without this trope, but it's such a common problem across the board and I, for one, am exhausted.
Blair and Linc are partners for Wilde. Linc is obsessed with Blair and willing to do whatever is necessary to keep her safe. As Blair is about to go on vacation, she is requested on a job on an island where women are being kidnapped for ransom. Only they aren't sure what the reasoning behind the kidnappings are.
Alone on the island Blair and Linc start to express their hidden feelings for each other. Since they're playing a married couple they had to look like they were a happy married couple. What they don't know is that Blair's past is the reason for everything. Someone she ripped off when she was another person, doing another job she made an enemy.
Watching Linc grow more and more frantic, for not only her safety but to ensure she knew no matter what her past was he would be there, showed how much love he has for Blair. Linc has always been one of the characters that I loved seeing throughout the series. Ever since Ghost came onto the scene I love his character as well, he is capable of so many things I don't think we have seen yet. Every book in this series continues to surprise me by just getting better and better. I am always looking forward to the next story and I can't wait to see what Cole has to go through when his past comes back.
