Intricate anvils, magical powers, and city building!
Noah’s recent assignment of Baron of Dunbar forces him to start thinking about how he will bridge the gap between Feka and human. And with a Shadowalker threat once again on the horizon, this time with a new alliance, he must advance his powers and build something new and powerful to defend the city. Noah must continue searching for the final mana type and new allies in worlds that he could never have imagined before.
Can he stop the threat looming over Dunbar? Join Noah as he forges on!
I don't know where this series is going next. This book ends, more or less, where the first began. The Circle has closed. Which usually means the end.
But there are also several threads still left hanging. Unanswered questions. There is still a ways to go in this story.
I am curious where the tale will lead. I wish there was a stronger focus on character development. Mara has turned from a vapid girl into a powerful mage traveling the astral planes. But she still has no true character. Noah is the same, great powers, but still just two dimensions.
The things I liked in the series, finding ways to make magic duplicate technology, are pretty much missing.
Matt Pivots needs a strong editor to make his work more consistent and bring out his strength. I hope he finds one before he starts book four.
This book but it seems like a wrap up of an arc. Hopefully there is more. While I enjoyed it I am sad to see the end of this particular arc. Hopefully the author will continue the series. On the flip side it's nice that an author cleans up loose ends. I hate orphaned stories.
I really enjoyed this series and this book. The end is a bit rushed, and there are major plot points left unresolved though. I would have expected another book to finish the story, but I see that books one through three are listed as the complete series. I hope the author decides to write a fourth book to complete the story, rather than leaving the series at the three books considered to be complete. The story does not seem to have been completed by the end. I loved the series though. The setting of the series is really cool. The part of the world that the main character is on is an incredibly dangerous jungle, and there are also some mountains near the jungle. The jungle is super hot, while the mountains are high up enough to get really cold. There are little cities placed in those locations, and the story of the series takes place across two jungle cities and one mountain city. Most LitRPG books seem to have the towns and cities in a relatively safe area, maybe having to worry about monsters only occasionally, so the location of the cities in this book was a really nice change. I did like the crafting mechanics of this book too. Even if this series never gets a fourth book, I hope the author continues to write and manages to get out a series where the resolve all major plot points by the end. The author did a pretty great job until they rushed to finish the series. I wish them all the best in their writing endeavors.
Well, this series just continues to impress. Pivots put together another fantastic book. He expanded on the characters, made a few new arcs but not so many that we lose track of them, continued the romance between characters, and upped the ante with increased danger and even better, more technical builds. The MC grows in a very satisfying way...not just with his levels but with his city management, army building, and inter-species diplomacy that makes this book stand out from other LitRPG novels.
I really hope this isn't the end of the series, but really did enjoy the ending. There is a whole world to discover still (per his beautiful map) so I hope the interlude arc is going to start his next book series within this world (wink, wink!).
I devoured the book in one day and couldn't put it down. I found myself thinking along with the MC and seeing what I would do in the same situations, and I was always impressed with the level of detail and technical analysis that he came up with (with his awesome skills, of course, too). I just really can't say enough about this book series. Thank you for the great reads!
First I want to say that it's core concept was Interesting but it both goes too far and not far enough as I believe it should have been structured better and not given me a readers digest version of a story. If it was planned out to be 5 books that had a clear plot not just shoving stuff in it would have a lot less plot holes and better flow of the story.
Noah is gaining power and is able to awaken more mages. The shadow stalkers still want to eradicate the cats and humans in Dunbar. Noah builds defensive structures for Dunbar. Several other interests are involved in the fate of the world. I like the action, humor, intrigue, and romance. Another book would be good.
Same as book 2, This kid was a prisoner and slave in book 1 and and basically book 2. He continues to work with the people who imprisoned him and treat him like crap. He has Stockholm syndrome in all books. There is no adventure because the kid goes no where the story goes no where.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. If there is more to this story I would be interested in reading it. This book and series are definitely worth checking out.
I thoroughly enjoyed the third book! Action packed from the very beginning, with an excellent mix of awesome inventions, suspense, romance and intrigue. Noah really outdoes himself with his use of his engineering background and all the magic he and his mages have, together with his fierce warrior cats. I really liked the addition of new creatures as well. I look forward to more books from this talented author!
