I find time travel stories fascinating and am always eager to read them. This book stood out from others I've read in the genre, offering a unique take on time travel.

It was an emotional book that made me sad at times, then had me grinning like a fool at other times. I loved the conclusion, although I would have liked a bit more detail on everyone's lives.

Christmas and Time Travel

I wasn't sure what to expect when I began reading this, but the story quickly pulled me in. Julia is a successful vlogger who travels to Scotland to persuade the owner of a period home to let her feature the home for crowd funded renovation. In the process, she meets the resident ghost, Peter. In investigating the house, its history, and Peter's untimely death, Julia falls back in time. As she and the then alive Peter navigate this development, they fall in love. What will happen when she returns to her own time. How can she remain in his time? Will they get their HEA? If you like historical romancoe with a bit of time travel thrown in, you'll enjoy this as much as I did.

Well, again I am a bit torn about a book.
It's only three stars for me because I wasn't captivated. I liked the idea. But I wasn't convinced.
Julia travels back 180 years and adapts more or less seamlessly with only a few mishaps?
And I found the relationship with Peter, the conversations, were kind of lacking.. emotionally. For me it felt all a bit detached.
I must admit that I skipped several passages where nothing important happened.
The ending is ok, but also not so convincing - since - SPOILER!!

she said before that she didn't think she can adapt to the old rules and then she accepts all on the spur of the moment.

But - I have to admit - I read a sneak preview of the next book, "Melody" and I am intrigued *lol*

I am not usually one for time travel stories, but this is still a very well written and good romantic story. It deserves every star I gave it. This is also a "new to me" author and I am going to want to read more of her work. The characters are vivid, and the main character, Julia is a character I truly wish I could have met in person, instead of the lonely life I have chosen for myself. Luckily though, she found someone who appreciates her for the person she is, most likely better than I ever could. The plot is easily followed, and the premise is finding a way for her to stay in the past with someone she connected with so well. I definitely highly recommend this book to anyone with a shred of romance in their soul.

Wonderful story

I enjoyed this story so much. I never knew what would happen next. My only complaint (and it's just a small one), I would have liked an Epilogue to know what became of Leticia's life in the future. I do recommend this book to all those who enjoy Time Travel stories.

Update: The beginning of Book 2 (which, at the time of this writing, is not available yet) was added after the novel is complete on Kindle. So, it served as an Epilogue to answer my question about what happened to Leticia.

I wasn’t even sure what the expect when starting this one, but boy oh boy did it blow my expectations!
I’ve never read a time travel book, but this one blew my expectations. Julia is someone who doesn’t seem to like slow down. After recently losing her mother, she heads to Scotland to try to convince a historical home owner to let her help renovate her home. What she doesn’t expect is to find the love of her life, but from nearly 200 years ago. I can’t wait to read the second book!!

The Christmas Village by Frankie Robertson.
Charming time travel story. I liked the characters and the storytelling. The story follows Julia as she goes from 2023 to 1845. Nice read for the holidays.
I would have liked an epilogue years into the future when Julia reflects back on her life to get an update on how her life turned out.

Enjoyed the book a good deal. Have always liked time travel/historical themes. Now would like to follow up with The Christmas Village: MELODY, but can't seem to find it on Amazon, or in Kindle. Will keep my eyes open for a future offering.

A thoroughly entertaining Currier & Ives portrait with a lovely Scottish burr. But wait! there's also love, longing, ghost meets girl, girl meets man, girl loses man and [spoiler alert]! You'll just have to read it yourself.

A fun read. I haven’t read a time travel book in a long time and this one did not disappoint. Really enjoyed the characters in this book. As soon as I finished it I bought the next one which is focusing on Melody.

A very charming story

I found this story to be very sweet and entertaining. The caricatures were described in a way that pulled you in. This is a story that I would recommend to my sisters and, that is the best compliment I could give to a writer!

A thoroughly enjoyable book. I enjoy "time travel "books. This one was lovely the differences between the house now and used to be . The author did a wonderful job of describing it. It had my interest from the beginning. Liked the characters. Etc

Second time reading this was as good as the first.

An excellent story, told in a succinct manner, not easy to do where time travel is involved.

Very likeable characters that I quickly came to care about.

Wonderful book

This is the first book I've read by Frankie Robertson, but it won't be the last. The twists near the end made it even better.

Good read

Cute story. Loved the characters. I liked the time travel twist, but it did seem just a bit confusing how it turned out.

Christmas Village

Enjoyable story but it would have been nice to know what happened with the house. Did it get renovated? Just a bit jumbled and rushed at the end.

I liked this book except for the way it ended. (Although most people would like the ending.) I can't say more without giving away the ending.

Christmas, romance and time travel - a perfect combination for the holiday season. A book which is very easy to read with delightful characters and the charm of Scotland. It can be read as a stand alone book but for me I want to follow the story of Julia and Peter. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Good Story

Good time travel and love story. Julia is sent to the past where she falls in love with Peter and he with her. His nasty sister in-law tries to kidnap his niece and tries to kill him but shoots Julia in stead. It all ends well but you have to read the story to understand.
