Vastly different worlds collide in the most unlikely of places. Raised to fulfill a divine mission, Keller is committed to doing better than his father had in his time. The weight of his responsibility is stifling, but he is transcendent, the only one worthy to accomplish what his great grandfather built this community for 90 years ago. He could not fail. To that end, he determines that he must find new ways to connect his community to an outside world that he does not understand.
Arlie hasn't been back to Montana since her dad moved her to California as a kid. She never had any desire to come back, but choosing to offer support to her ailing mother will at least ensure she doesn't have any guilt about their fractured relationship. When she accidentally volunteers herself to write a story about the mysterious cult in the mountains, she meets a man there that isn't quite what she expected.
Despite his reluctance, Keller finds himself drawn to Arlie's abrupt and lively personality. He longs to learn more about her, but he's plagued by a fear that holds him back. Arlie, on the other hand, seems intent on dragging him down to hell with her, if only to have some temporary fun and unravel his secrets. Yet, as she spends more time with Keller, she begins to see the person behind the charismatic façade, a man trapped in a world with a belief system instilled in him at birth and that defines his entire life.
Breaking free from the past requires a level of strength neither of them are sure they possess. If they can't stay away from each other, Keller's entire world might come crumbling down on top of him with Arlie stuck in the middle of it all.

He also liked a different OW before meeting the h. He was intimate with a diff OW even after being intimate with the h and the goes off to be intimate with the h.
Though he hasn’t even seen a woman’s v 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 so he’s technically still a v.

"Spread the message. Grow the community. Change the world. Heaven and earth will become one."
I am always down for a cult story. Call it a guilty pleasure if you will, but I've always been intrigued by them. So when I came across a cult inspired dark romance???!! Say less! I knew I had to check it out, and it didn't disappoint.
"Beautiful face. Sexy body. Charming as hell. The motherfucker was a cult leader. God fucking damnit."
I have never read scenes like these in anything other than Splatterpunk. The alter scene with Camilla is absolutely brutal. Like holy shit!!! This book won't be for everyone. It's dark, and some of the scenes will definitely be triggering, so please proceed with caution.
As far as spice goes, this book is 🔥 🔥 🔥. I hate myself for saying it. But I loved Keller. He's delusional and unstable. He does some pretty horrid shit and yet, I couldn't hate him. Arlie is a bit reckless, full of sass, and very sex driven. I simply adored her character, even though at times I found myself going, " Really, girl??"
Overall, I loved this book and will be checking out more from DeRose.
This is the 1st book I've read from this author and I'm a fan.
Arlie is a journalist who after 19 years leaves California and returns to a small town in Montana to take care of her terminally ill mother. While there she gets a job at the local paper and after several article ideas are derailed she pitches an idea to investigate a small community out in the woods.
Keller is the heir to become Sovereign. His father has been incapacitated and as the pressure to marry and take his rightful spot as the head of the community presses down on him, he is determined to right the wrongs of his father.
Arlie is convinced Keller runs a cult and at every turn she's quick to jump to the worse possible conclusion when it comes to Keller. But he's a twenty one year old man who has not experienced anything outside of the constant ridicule and grooming his father has instilled in him since he was a child. But not everything is as it seems and regardless of Keller's innocent outlook things begin to spiral.
Two people from two different worlds both trying to get the other to open their eyes to the world as they see it....equals a story that had me interested from the start.
There's some potential triggers so be sure to check those. The spice level overall three point five. It's definitely a natural occurrence within the plot. Interesting read and I'm curious to see if there's a second book in the works to wrap up a few potential loose ends.
Omg!! I couldn't put it down. This book has it all. Laugh, love, and woowee the spice. You need to come check this book and author out to see what else she has to offer. Madilyn Rose will not disappoint.
Arlie is one sassy bada$$ woman. I like it when a man such as Keller tries to keep up with it all. This storyline is a phenomenal read, and I can't wait to read more from this author.
Keep in mind everyone always read your content warnings to make sure there are no triggers for you. Otherwise, don't continue.
Thanks, Madilyn DeRose, for this opportunity to let us read your books.
Wow! Madilyn didn’t disappoint! This is my first book by this author and I was super excited to dig into it, as it’s totally up my alley!
Warning: This is Dark and has several trigger warnings! If you are sensitive to triggers, this is not for you.
Thankfully, I’m desensitized and if you are too, then dig in to this amazing read!
I was hooked to the characters and intrigued with the Cult story! Loved the sassiness in Arlie and the different masks of Keller! Emotional Roller Coaster! Yes, I said it! Couldn’t put this book down!
It's not a "cult".... That is what our unhinged community leader swears. This book is on the dark side so please make sure to read those trigger warnings. Keller with his god-like complex and Arlie who can't walk away take you for a ride that will make you question your morals as you move to each chapter. Our book boyfriend will have your heart trapped like his own delusions. Arlie is so sassy you can't help but fall for her witty banter and her confidence. The twists! The turns! The chemistry! The Oh So Spice! This book is just amazing and a must-read for all you lovelies out there!! You will not be able to put it down!

I absolutely DEVOURED this book. If it weren't for working and being on nights, I would've read this in one sitting because I dreaded putting this book down. I have never read this author prior to this, but when my friend sent the trigger warning list, I sprinted to get a copy of this. Thanks Nikita because you're the real mvp!! I'm not quite sure what Madilyn put in this book, but it's absolutely addicting. I love her writing style and I am definitely looking forward to the follow up book and more of her work in general in the future.
Perhaps I need my own psych evaluation because I instantly found myself in love with Keller. There is no doubt in my mind I would easily be seduced into his cult, and I wouldn't even be mad. Throughout the book, I too found myself justifying his actions and agreeing with his inner thoughts - like I said, I should probably look into therapy. And the banter between MCs!? IMMACULATE. Their chemistry? Undeniable!! And I don't blame Arlie's inner monologue revolving her attraction to Keller because literally me. And as much as I hate to say it, I normally find myself hating on the fmc, but I think it is impossible to hate Arlie. She's the strong and assertive type of FMC I wish other authors would follow suit when writing their FMCs.
So yes, this book is an absolute must read - if you can stomach the triggers. I personally didn't find them overwhelming, and they're written so tastefully, it barely even registered that they were triggers in the first place (which red flag alert - some are pretty wild, but i eat that up, looking at you Mr. Gnome IYKYK). Keller and his Atlas-sent jaw has moved himself up to the top of my never-ending book bf list and I have no shame or regrets.
All I got to say is this book is FUCKED up. Like why am I reading this fucked up. Like what is wrong with this authors brain fucked up. But wouldn't you know it, I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK! I think that says more about me than it does the author 🤣 I must be really screwed up because damn Keller's crazy psychotic possessive shit was hot 🔥🔥🔥 and worked for him!
I figured out what was going on about halfway through. I read something similar last year, so that wasn't a surprise, but I did love how it all unraveled. Vic had me completely shocked! I didn't expect him to be who he was, but it makes sense with all that he did for Keller. Trying to keep his mind open and not stuck in the crazy like his father and grandfather.
Arlie is hilarious! I love her inner voice and how she talks about herself. "Arlie, you're an idiot sandwhich." Freaking died laughing at her honest reactions. I can't help but love her. She's messed up, too. I mean, you have to be to love Keller, but she's amazing.
It was also nice to have an inexperienced MC and have the FMC teach him. Also, the age gap was reversed. Arlie was older while Keller was younger. It was complete opposite to usual age gaps and virgin FMCs. This book just worked. I don't know how or why, but it did.
Renegade is a very compelling and well-written story about an unconventional romance between Arlie (Charlotte) and Keller. One is a single, free-spirited journalist from LA, who loves being stubborn and satisfying her curiosity. The other is the born and divined leader of Caelum, a cult nestled in the mountainous woods of Montana. What could go wrong? Or maybe it should be, what could go right?
Madilyn DeRose writes a very convincing tale of almost reluctant romance between two people, who could not be more different if they tried. On the outside, Caelum is a perfect tapestry of a community living and thriving on its own in Montana, not ascribing to the traditional monotheistic religions but rather basing their beliefs on the stars. The way the community is set up was enthralling - built according to the stars making up the Taurus constellation. Keller is a compelling character - constantly at odds with his upbringing yet yearning to be the man his father has beat him into shape to be. A leader. The divine. The Sovereign.
Arlie is like a creature from another planet, when Keller meets her. His fascination begins almost immediately, and the story is really driven by their interactions and their budding relationship. The plot takes a few twists and turns and becomes more of a suspenseful romance, but it is a great story all the same.
As weird as it is, I feel like I didn't get enough Keller, and there's more that needs to be shared by or of him. We shall see.
This is definitely a slow-burn, cult, suspense romance, with a virgin MMC, reverse age gap, some great dirty talk and lots of surprises.
I'm just starting this out, check the TWs before reading this other to protect your mental health or to check off your little lists
And secondly ✨️DUAL POV!!!✨️
The MMC is a cult leader who doesn't believe he's a cultural leader so when you read his POV you get to experience the snowball rolling of his delulu. Like get your first class ticket and jump on board this whole book was a wild ride
The FMC. Love her first of all FINALLY SOMEONE IN THEIR 30s ! Yes please. Secondly curvy and confident representation with a sassy attitude. Love it.
If you're looking for dark and twisted. Obsession, and W. T.. F moments This book right here
Again read the TWs.
I'm never let down by this author and I'll forever recommend her work.
I couldn’t stop reading this book! Who knew someone could make you want a cult leader to come out on top. This book made me laugh and cry. I never wanted it to end.
I really loved how you got the view from both Keller and Arlie. I also loved how she surprised you twists you never saw coming.
I loved how independent and sassy Arlie was and how charismatic and dominant Keller was. I really hope we get more of Keller and Arlie and what their future holds.
As part of the ARC team, I absolutely loved reading this! It all fell together beautifully! It’s a beautiful story with religious trauma and a hot possessive cult leader. Against all odds, Keller found love and belonging.
“You have all of me, baby. That’s the thing about the stars. They’re always there, even when the day tries to block them from view. They’re one of the few constants in this world. My love for you is another.”
10/10 recommend to all the dark romance lovers. And spicyyy! Please check trigger warnings.
Madilyn DeRose always delivers ✨️the smut✨️ morally grey men ✨️ and badass FMC! I just looooove the way she writes and the humor. 😍
I absolutely loved being along for the ride for Keller and Arlie's love story.
This book has some graphic depictions and some heavy topics. I'd suggest checking out trigger warnings before reading.
-🍑🔪 (ifykyk)
- Badass journalist FMC.
-Pitch black MMC.
Keller’s battle between a semblance of a normal life and continuing this path of self destruction and chaos was really interesting. Getting into his head and learning about all the twists and more about his cult was really fascinating. I'm into true crime so cults have always interested me. Will Keller take his place as the cult leader he was groomed to be? Or will he burn it all to the ground in the name of love when a journalist begins looking into his community and he can't seem to get her out of his head.
It’s very dark, and a slow build for sure but the last chapters had me absolutely glued! I liked it because I really couldn’t see where the book was going, so there were a lot of twists and characters I hated initially I started to feel compassion for and yes the people I wanted to see rise by the end were the villains so it definitely catches. The violence might be a little bit of a trigger so keep in mind when reading, but the spice was absolutely there and here for it! Loved Arlie and that remained through the entire book.
I’m speechless. Arlie is a crazy B and I’m here for it. Kellar you poor thing!! One of the perfect toxic couples of 2024 🤷🏻♀️ I loved it! Super dark! Check the TW!
✨Arlie+Kellar✨
Virgin mmc Strong sassy fmc Cult leader mmc Writer fmc Reverse age gap Dark obsession Indoctrination & Religious trauma Touch her and 💀
A strong, confident heroine, the older woman forging a relationship with a charismatic, yet dark new cult leader was intriguing as the story played out their romance. Arlie was the new reporter in town whose task was to discover and write about the cult community while Keller, 10 years her junior, was drawn to Arlie and sought to expand his community, his birthright, using social media and connections. Arlie had a past linked to her the town, to the community. Keller, too, had past, sinister and disturbed by his father’s influence, indoctrinated in his position, his beliefs and self-worth, which led to a god-like mentality and behavior.
I loved the character dynamics and the storyline, and their underlying attraction was tangible, too, in which Keller found her not typical physical characteristics pleasing. Equally, he was attractive without the depiction of youthful immaturity. He was simply inexperienced. The ascending belief / plot line, Keller’s masks as the sovereign contrasting with his secular curiosity and lack of exposure as well as interest in Arlie were captivating. At the same time Arlie's writing and delving into the mysteries of the cult community, she was both allured by Keller and dishonest in her intentions.
The way their two perspectives particularly Keller’s were written showcased well their psyche and feelings.
Besides its great and unique storyline, the book really lost me with some issues: its plot progression, unnecessarily slow, and was hindered by the past to present interlude, small though they were. I appreciated the plus-size woman but not the constant fetishizing of her thighs. She could have just been attractive, without the over glorified full-figure focus. Arlie was experienced and confident, and even though there was foreplay — and that was all there mostly was — the book wasn’t very spicy (2/5). Perhaps intended to be a slow burn, it was just undeservedly slow. The ending was painfully abrupt.
Keller’s (Ki ller as Arlie nicknamed him) personality was at times difficult to mesh with redemption. He was this awkward, out of his element young man with Arlie and with daddy issues, but blinded, self-professed, violent divinity among his community of followers. He both craved the adoration and hated it when given. But he adored Arlie.
There were also lots grammatical errors with semicolons, commas, and possessive of gerunds.
Overall, and no way to minimize its impact, this was very different from the usual fare, very creative plot line, and sub arcs were interesting. Slow to unfold in way that challenged my interest (issues of execution), but still a good read. I’d like more books like this with inventive, compelling plots and themes.
"I don't know how you did it, Killer, but you made me care about you, crazy sh*t and all."

I recommend this to dark romance readers, especially those who like their mmc unhinged. If you don't read dark romance, pick another book to read.
This book might be too violent and depraved for some readers. Take care of your mental health. Content warning (not a complete list): vomiting, murd3r (on page and lots of it), gr00ming, stalk1ng, traff1ck1ng, explicit s3x, bashing religion, emotional abus3, v1olence, and genital mutil@tion. For more, check the author's website.

Keller is a fascinating character. His indentity and sense of purpose comes from being part of the cult. There is more to him than being a cult leader though. He's complex. And he's definitely violent and unhinged. Arlie was a fun fmc. She was sassy and made me laugh. I think she suited Keller well. He needed someone that would push his buttons and seek to know him on a deep level. I liked watching the progression of their romance.
It was a fun read. I think DeRose did a good writing Keller as a cult member and leader. I could understand why Keller thought the way he did regarding the cult and why he had trouble seeing it for what it was. As for the cult, it was interesting finding out the history behind it and discovering the secrets that were going on in the background.
One issue I had was I felt it dragged at some points. Minor issues though.
I received a free copy and I'm leaving an honest review.
The story alternates between Keller, the cult’s “Sovereign,” and Arlie, a snarky, big-city journalist with zero tolerance for bullshit. Keller was raised to believe he is the heir to a sacred lineage and is expected to uphold a violent, misogynistic belief system masked as religion. His backstory is horrifying: he’s forced to “choose” a wife at sixteen (he picks Hannah), is pressured to sleep with concubines to breed bastards for the community, and undergoes ritualistic bloodletting to maintain “purity.”
Fast forward to 2024: Hannah is long gone (her fate slowly unfolds in gut-punching detail), Keller is jaded and cruel, and the cult continues to grow in secrecy. Arlie, newly returned to her rural hometown to care for her dying mother, stumbles onto whispers of the group and starts digging.
Their first meeting in a diner is charged — Arlie’s sarcastic and bold, Keller is dangerously charismatic and withholding. He gives her just enough rope to hang herself… or maybe infiltrate his world. When she does follow the map he gives her and enters the cult, things spiral into a psychological power struggle. Arlie becomes embedded in the twisted politics, witnessing the violence and manipulation firsthand, while Keller slowly begins unraveling — not because of her, but because his faith is fracturing under the weight of everything he's done.
Eventually, Arlie and Keller develop a disturbing bond. It's not romantic in any healthy sense — it's volatile, obsessive, trauma-laced. Yet it feels earned within the twisted logic of the story.

Fair warning this book is not for the easily offended. There is a very long trigger warning list which should definitely be taken seriously (I had to Google some of them!). If you are in any way squeamish, sensitive about religion, violence or non consensual acts then definitely give this a miss. The spice level is HOT and it really is an emotional rollercoaster. Again I’m muttering at my kindle like the characters can hear me. There is always the most beautiful powerful love at the core of this authors books and this is no exception, Keller and Arlie would never have met had it not been for a throwaway comment. He is a young charismatic cult leader whose demons have demons and she is an older cynical journalist who goes up a mountain looking for a story but finds more than she could ever have dreamed. The writer has the most amazing ability to yank you in to the story and hold your brain hostage for the whole book, the characters are intense and the writing is detailed and engaging. This book really made me examine my thoughts on Belief and Religion, and it reinforced for me that Belief isn’t wrong, it’s the people who believe that they can do whatever they please in the name of religion that taint it for others. I don’t know how to feel about myself that I loved Keller and his God complex, he definitely met his match in Arlie and I was desperately rooting for them to have a hea! If you like your books dark and twisted then I can highly recommend it
Madilyn does NOT disappoint👏🏽👏🏽. The way I was so excited for this book and left as happy as I am?! Had me highly considering joining the community of Caleum 🤷🏽♀️.
We have Keller who is the leader of this community and is truly UNHINGED but how is he so cute at the same time?? You will literally find yourself rooting for this man for both freedom and redemption. A. Cult. Leader. Yeah let that sink in! I never thought I’d feel bad for someone in his position but i did and found myself justifying all of his actions…well all but one 😅. But even with my obsession with Keller being almost Keller level (iykyk) can I just give all the spotlight to Arlie 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. I’m a sucker for a FMC who is confident, talks mad shit, has internal dialogue that makes me want to punch them but also laugh because same girl same, AND curvyyyyy! Arlie talked her shit and took no prisoners especially when it comes to Keller. She wasn’t whiney and actually would call herself out which I mean…WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE ABOUT THAT?!
If you want a dark romance with focus on cult activities and the religious institutions then you NEED to read. But I would like to point out that this does challenge religion in some aspects, references subjects that some might find offensive/uncomfortable, and has content that you should check your own triggers before going into it.
Arlie is a journalist who moves back home to take care of her ill mother. There was nothing for her to write about until she learned about a rumored cult near the mountain. Her boss gives her permission to move forward with her research and find out as much as possible.
Renegade is an EXTRA dark cult romance and is WILD. This is not for those who are easily offended. I can't lie...I enjoyed it. I have very few trigger limits, so the darkness in this book did not bother me. I like hearing stories about people getting caught up in cults, and the delusional leaders that never think they are doing anything wrong. Is Keller "Killer" 100% delusional and unhinged? Yes! Is he also HOT? ALSO YES! Did I find myself rooting for him? Sure did! Arlie is a BOSS. I will always be here for a curvy, confident, and experienced FMC. Keller and Arlie together was just too good! Their chemistry is amazing! The twists...the turns...everything was so good.
Madilyn DeRose's writing style and pacing made this easy to read. If you are into this type of stuff, give this book a try. Renegade did not disappoint.
Thank you Madilyn DeRose for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This is a dark book. Please check the trigger/content warnings before you dive in!
This is the first book I've read by Madilyn and she has earned herself another fan.
I really enjoyed the cult aspect of this book. It is something that always interests me in a "I can't beleive this actually exists" kind of way. It was very interesting to read Keller point of view and his thoughts on the cult (sorry Keller, I know you don't like that word). Getting the history of the community he is part of and now leading was very interesting to me.
Arlie is a sassy, independent, take what she wants kind of gal and I love that. I feel like I see myself in some of the things she does/says.
I have a soft spot for a sexually inexperienced MMC and this did not disappoint. The spicy scenes were *chefs kiss* and when one finished, I couldn't wait for the next one. I enjoyed that Keller's opinion of the female recieving pleasure changed pretty quickly with Arlie and he realised he loved it.
I'm a dark book lover through and through and while others might gasp at some of the scenes in this book, I ate them up.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I rated in 3 stars. I am stingy with my reviews so a 3 is actually really good for me.
I was on the edge of my seat reading this book! The story begins with Arlie, a journalist from LA, who moves back to her small town when she finds out her mom is dying. She’s very hesitant to go back as she and her mom have never had the best relationship, and they tend to disagree quite a bit. While in town taking care of her mom, Arlie still continues her journaling career and comes upon an interesting topic for a story…the supposed cult that lives in the mountains. While researching in a cafe, she meets Keller, the witty and very good looking sovereign of this so called cult. There is an instant attraction between them and he becomes OBSESSED. He isn’t sure why Arlie of all people has this effect on him since he’s never loved any girl but Hannah, his original betrothed. However, he is determined to know more about Arlie and Arlie can’t seem to stay away from him even when she knows it’s wrong….
This book was very beautifully written and had an amazing shock factor! I loved that it bounced back and forth between the past and the present so we get a very good idea of how Keller became the leader of this so called cult. There could potentially be some triggering things in this book so check trigger warnings but I absolutely loved every second of this book! Well done Madilyn!

Holy h3ll guyssssss🥵 This book was so good. If you’re not reading it or planning on it you have to! I WILL BE GETTING A PHYSICAL COPY! I was so skeptical about this one cause of the cover and not having read a cult romance before but oh my starssss✨✨🫣 Keller is😮💨😮💨 I binged a 500 page book in 24 hours because it kept me on my toes the whole time. The romance was amazing and it kept you wondering up to the end if they would choose each other or die in the mess that happens. Without spoilers: Arlie is a journalist who moved from LA to Montana to try to repair her relationship with her mom who is terminally ill. She gets a writing job there and they don’t like anything she comes up with until she learns of a cult in the mountains and needs to write three articles. How was she to know the leader would be her salvation and her own ruining😍😍😍
Seriously! It comes out February 1st and you NEED to read it. I know this is going to be one of those books that rotates through my brain daily❤️🔥❤️🔥
Thank you Madilyn Derose for sending me your book! I’m about to binge your others right now!
this is a dark cult romance - please read trigger warnings before reading this book
omg I go into books mostly blind and the only thing I knew about this book was that it was a cult romance set in montana. I had no clue what I was getting myself into but I was not disappointed!
keller - the cult, I mean community, leader was destined to take over the community and continue on the legacy
arlie - a reporter who desperately needs a story to impress her boss goes to rural montana to learn about the cult
I DEVOURED this book in two sittings; I could not put it down! I enjoy reading books with dual POVs as well as time jumps and this book had it all. I loved how this book went into the backstory of keller and how he became the person he was. keller’s story was so interesting to read about and to get into the mind of someone in a cult. it was also great to read about an outsider to see how crazy their beliefs are
madilyn wrote so much backstory on this cult that I would believe her if she said it was real, or at least based off a real cult
I loved this world she created and I can’t wait to read more from her!
I don’t know how to review this book without making myself sound extremely unwell but here I go.
I might have found myself falling for a cult leader and helping him bring heaven and earth together just because of his jawline.
Madilyn really nailed it with this I wont lie. Writing Cult stories is no easy feat yet she did it flawlessly. And yes, I vibe with the cult leader thing.
Quick heads up: This one gets pretty dark, and there are some serious trigger warnings, so if you're sensitive to that stuff, make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.
If you're like me and can handle it (because we are the problem children), then go for it! I got totally hooked on the characters and the whole Cult storyline.
Arlie's sass and Keller's different masks kept me totally entertained. I found myself getting quite emotional and the last 30% had me racing to finish it.
Definitely a new favorite auto buy author for me. (I Also really hope we get another book for vic #justsaying)
Renegade by Madilyn DeRose is a captivating tale where vastly different worlds collide in the most unexpected setting. Keller, raised with a divine mission, grapples with the weight of his responsibility and seeks to forge connections with an outside world that remains elusive to him. Arlie, returning to Montana to support her ailing mother, unwittingly finds herself entangled in the enigma of a mountain cult. The dynamic between Keller and Arlie is both intriguing and tumultuous, as Keller is drawn to Arlie's spirited personality despite his inner fears. As their worlds converge, the story delves into themes of breaking free from ingrained belief systems and the strength required to confront the past. DeRose skillfully weaves a narrative with blends of mystery, romance, and the quest for personal liberation, making Renegade a compelling and thought-provoking read. This is a DARK romance. Please do not go into this book blind. Read all trigger warnings that can be found on the author's social media.
Renegade is a dark romance / thriller centered around reporter Arlie, who has decided her next story is going to be on Caelum, a cult run by the sexy and charismatic Keller. Arlie visits Caelum to get the juicy details on their culty community, and can't seem to stay away. Is it because of her desire to write a good story, or the flirty guy in charge that keeps her coming back for more?
This one jumps right in to the cultiness, so prepare y'all!! Definitely check the trigger warnings before you dive in. At first I was like, "what in the world did I start reading?!" But I was instantly hooked and didn't want to put it down! The plot moves quickly, so there's never a dull moment in this cult classic 😜 I loved Keller and Arlie and their fiery interactions. Their first meeting was 🤌🏼 *chef's kiss* 🤌🏼 Renegade was unpredictable, and I highly recommend to anyone who wants to take a chance on a new DARK romance! The spice is muy spicy 🔥🔥 I love reading DeRose's books, I never know what's twisted thing is going to happen next 😂
First of all, Holy Hell!!!! 🥵🥵 I really thought I was going to struggle with this book because of the cult/religion connections in the book, but not at all! DeRose did an amazing job in her research, and I loved all of the culty things she added!
Keller, the MMC. I hated him at first, he’s manipulative and everything a cult leader is, but he’s misunderstood and sexy as hell, and his virgin innocence makes me want to be Arlie! He has become my top 2 favorite MMC from this author!!! I loved his story, but still had a couple questions I need answered!
Arlie, the FMC, gah!!! I love her! I love that a plus size, tatted, pierced, dyed hair and older fmc ran this story!! She knows what she wants and wasn’t ashamed of her sexual needs!!! I easily could’ve become her, and would’ve followed Keller anywhere!!!
The TW scenes I was worried about, lord have mercy yall, I loved them 🔪🔪 and I am so glad this author can yum our Yums!
My only complaint, and it’s not really even a complaint, was the time jumps within chapters. If I wasn’t paying attention I’d get confused.
