“Let me go. I’ll be right back,” she promised, and kissed his lips. “You won’t even know I’m gone.”
Separated from the love of a lifetime, Haven and Ryker are forced to endure a cruel trial that tests more than their bond. Though Haven is in Terra under simulation, blissfully unaware of the bonding trial, Ryker is left in Berinia, abandoned and stricken with a loneliness he’s never known. His choices test the limits of his relationship with his Triad and everyone he loves.
But time is not their only enemy. The Phoenix is the key to Praesia’s safety, and in Haven’s absence, those who set them on this path flourish, gain new allies, and set in motion a more permanent scheme to keep Haven and Ryker apart. Their ambitions reach for the throne and the very heart of Praesia.
For their enemies, the trial seems a success when Haven returns changed, with a damaged memory of her seraphim life. With the support of her loves ones, Ryker is determined to help Haven remember who they were together and the love they shared, but his own scars from the trial run deep. They struggle to find each other, not only for the bond they have fought to preserve, but to save their world.
Georgia spends most of her time lost in fantastical worlds, thinking up wild ways to entertain readers who love romantic fantasy.
The Shadows and Light series are Georgia's first published novels, a planned six book series of love, political intrigue, intricate worldbuilding, magic and mystical creatures, and legends and lore. The story is an epic fantasy, heavily focused on character-driven storylines, both heroes, the morally gray, and the despicable. Books 1-5 are now available on Kindle Unlimited, Amazon and Audible.
Disenchanted Tales is a dark(ish) and steamy series of novels inspired by fairy tales, myths and fables. Book 1 -3 are now available on Kindle Unlimited and Amazon.
Georgia lives in California and when not spending time with her family, working and writing, she is an avid competitive equestrian.
Light Lost by Georgia C Leigh is the emotional and heartbreaking follow up to her stellar novel Light in the Shadows.
In this book, we still follow haven, who's been put into a simulated 80 year trial to prove the bond between her and Ryker. My heart broke for Ryker, pretty much throughout the entirety.
I found the book to be much faster paced than the first book. There were numerous twists and turns and even the subplots were interesting. The political intrigue was definitely heightened and interesting as well. And it wasn't confusing as some fantasy books tend to fall into.
Overall I do think I enjoyed book one a bit more, but book two was a solid follow up to it. I can't wait for book 3 I will continue to read as the author releases books.
This book absolutely gutted me with the emotions, it was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t get enough of the storyline . The twists and turns, the characters and everything in between was utter perfection. I cannot wait for more.
Thank you to the author for an eARC of this book in exchange for honest feedback.
Ms. Georgia has done it again, gone and just blown my heart wide open with emotional damage while also giving me one hell of a fantasy story. I loved this. After reading Light in the Shadows (LITS) randomly on NetGalley earlier this year, and falling in love with Haven & Ryker and this whole world that she has created, I locked myself in to read this book and series as it comes out. I'm so obsessed. It's so good and I cannot wait for book 3. Not only has she created this intricate high fantasy world parallel to our own (human world), but the romantic aspect of this book involving the two main characters is so freakin delicious and heart wrenching at the same time. Truly the sweet spot of fantasy romance in my opinion. The writing is wonderful, very mature feel, yet isn't bogged down by incredibly complicated discussions or massive info dumping. The pacing felt good, although my heart did NOT like some of the pacing (and that's on emotional damage). The plot twists and revelations brought to light in this book really kept me on the edge of my seat, especially the shitstorm of shit that happens within the last ~5%.😳😱 The world building continues in this book and we get more of a look into the co-existence of the seraphim realm (Praesia) and the human realm (Terra). Something I mentioned in my review of LITS that I liked, was the amount of discreet info dumping that is quite often found within the dialogue between characters. That continues in this book, which again, I find I really like that approach. It makes things easy to understand to the point where you don't even realize it's info dumping, if that makes sense. And Ms. Georgia is a saint, because with this book she gave us a GLOSSARY! 🤩😍 That was something I wish I had had when reading LITS, so it was SO freakin awesome to have it for Light Lost. I like to look that kind of info over prior to reading the book because it really helps me digest things better as I'm reading. And for reading book 2 in a series, it helps to kind of give a little summary of the background info without having to re-read the whole book just to find particular sections of info.
If you haven't already put this series on your adult fantasy romance TBR, please do so! It hasn't gotten nearly enough hype, but I think it will definitely be one that will really start to hit after this book is out for a few months. I think it's definitely one to watch and keep on your radar.
This second installment essentially picks up where we left off at the end of LITS. If you haven't read book 1, please stop here, as I will likely be discussing major spoilers from LITS. So get outta here!🤣 Haven has been placed into stasis for the duration of her and Ryker's mate bond trial (80 years) while her human avatar lives an alternate life on Terra, remembering nothing of her seraphim life, including Ryker. The rest of the crew (that's left) from book 1 is essentially dealing with the fallout of the events of Site Nine as well as the rising issues that are occurring throughout the rest of Praesia (the seraphim & fae realm) as well as other problems that are starting to surface in other realms. Since this book spans such a long stretch of time, there are significant time jumps in the story, which allows for so many other portions of this world's stories and characters to be told and fleshed out more than in the first book. While we see other storylines going simultaneously with Haven and Ryker's in book 1, they always felt like they were more in the background. With book 2, Haven and Ryker's storyline really kind of seems to run parallel in focus with everything else going on in the worlds. Side characters are getting more screen time and developed and *new* characters and plot lines are being introduced. While book 1 focused a lot more on Haven and her pod and less on the outer side characters of the world, book 2 really brings the reader into the lives of those side characters and all of the politics involved that were just briefly mentioned in book 1. It definitely felt like a whirlwind of action, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It really reminded me of all the simultaneous storylines running like in Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings. Not the same story, obviously, but you get the idea. Lots of different characters and lots of stuff happening.
Haven and Ryker's portion of this story was such an emotional rollercoaster. I really look at this book as more so Ryker's book, with book 1 being Haven's book. We get so much insight into Ryker's state of mind and the incredibly emotional toll that this trial takes on him, both before and after Haven wakes from stasis. We also get to see portions of Haven's life on Terra within her simulation, much of it through her eyes, but a lot of it also through Ryker's. Those two have been through so much already and then get put through even more in this book. My heart was in a constant state of broken for Ryker throughout much of their trial. But, something that I thought was really wonderful to see (as sad as it was) was the in-depth emotional portrayal of a male character going through that time of heartache, grief, depression, and loss. We don't often get to visualize men's grief journeys on the page, and the fact that Ryker's was so explicitly described for us was very refreshing to see. Haven, of course, has no memories of him or the fact that she's even in this trial, so she's just living the life that she thinks she's been given. Sure, she's got her own issues to deal with as she grows older, but the trial by its nature is going to put more of a strain on Ryker than on Haven, at least while she is in stasis. So his pain is more clearly on display for the reader. I thought that portion was very well done. I shed so many tears for that poor man. 😭 After she wakes from stasis, things take an unexpected turn for the two of them and we start to get more of Haven added back into the mix of things. I'll admit, I didn't like how things went after she first woke up, but once I finished the book and things were revealed, it all made sense and I felt like Ms. Georgia was a freakin genius. The way this book ended though 🥺...my babies need to be left alone to be able to love on each other for longer than 5 freakin minutes, ok??? Let them babies REST! But through it all we truly get to experience this deep and long-spanning love connection between two souls that truly yearn to be with one another, even when time and distance and outside forces attempt to tear them apart. This series so far has felt like such a powerful love story between them looking at how far they've come from book 1 until the end of book 2. I also really loved how bits and pieces of their life in book 1 is sprinkled in to this book, so much nostalgia. 🥰
I would say the spice in this one is definitely less than the first book, but it's kind of to be expected. There is A LOT of teasing and build-up between Haven and Ryker, but due to certain reasons, things are not as hot and heavy between them as I thought it was going to be once they were reunited. I swear, I wanted to beat Ryker over the head several times! 😠 But I also had to respect the shit outta him at the same time, because he was so damn determined. The spice we got was very well done though, really enjoyed it. I really hope we get more in book 3, but y'all know I'm just a sucker for sexy winged men so I'll take all of the spice whenever I can get it from them. 😂
The other storylines going on were pretty intense but it was nice to get more exposure to the rest of this world. Some characters I came to absolutely despise (Lilith I'm lookin at you), others I came to love even more, and then others did not make it to the end. 😭 There were so many revelations at the end, some of which I already figured, others I had no freakin clue and never saw coming, the eggs had just been placed that well. Things were set up very nicely for book 3, even though I felt like I was just staring at the wall dumbstruck once I finished.
Like I said above, I loved this book and Ms. Georgia has me as a guarantee for the future of this series, no question. I can't say that I liked this one more than book 1 or vice versa, because honestly I loved them both for different reasons I think. I'd say that I look at these 1st two books of the series more so as a team, just based on the fact that they cover different aspects of Haven & Ryker's story as well as what's going on at-large around them. Both books have been fantastic reads and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. 😁 I highly recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a solid, long-lasting, truly fantasy romance that, I feel, goes so much deeper for these characters than other books I've read. I don't think you'll be disappointed! Happy reading! 🤙🏼💕
Minor Spoilers (especially for book 1 if you haven't read it don't read this review) OMG This book was so heart wrenching and tension building. My heart was in my throat for most of this book. Where we leave off is Haven has started the mate trial and has left Ryker to deal with everything she left behind. At the end of book 1 it seemed like this was their only option for her to go through the trial so she wouldn't have to legally marry someone else. When I say legally it is a political marriage and as long as she was discreet, she could still be with Ryker something Haven did not want to do. For the first half of the book, we see Ryker going through basically all the stages of grief of basically seeing a living corpse of haven knowing he won't see her for 80 years knowing she is having a human life completely separate from him and all that it entails. Your heart just breaks for him and everything he is going for. On top of that this book is really really heavy on the political intrigue so while your heart is breaking for Ryker and everything, he is going through you are also waiting for a political trap around the corner that is meant to hurt him and/or separate and hurt Haven as well as to destabilize the political/security of their realm. I will be honest at times I had to take a small break after a particular scene knowing that they made it through one trap and knowing that there is surely another around the corner. I will say that while they are going through a mate trial and Haven does come back eventually, I will say this book from start to finish to me was more political intrigue with the romance being more of a subplot. A good portion of this book is them going through the trial and then when she comes back working towards coming back together but in a slow burn fashion. So, this is not an instalove super heavy romance book. But for this book it worked.
I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first even though I was put through an emotional rollercoaster with this book as in this book there was no heavy world building as that had been done in the first book so we could take off right at the start. I will say at times it was hard to keep track of all the schemes that were going on because it is not just one person trying to destabilize everything but multiple people and even some people double dipping between different factions. But it was still a very enjoyable read.
I will also say that when haven gets back while for a time you sympathize with her and her plight and trying to reacclimate to her realm after a while I did want to slap her upside the head and want her to think of things from those around their perspective but thankfully trinity did it for me.
***SPOILER NEXT FOR THIS BOOK*** The one thing I sort of had an issue with is there are no triggers for this book listed which I can understand is not a super triggering book, but I think people should be made aware there are some feelings surrounding, in my opinion, about whether cheating was done or not. For most of this book Ryker was given permission from Haven to have relationships while she is going through this trial as she would be in the human realm living a human life which means relationships as she would have no memory of him and his realm. This can be a grey area for some people for me, but I do think others should consider it when reading. However, there is one true instance of cheating in this book in my mind. In the human realm while on a business trip Haven who has no memory of Ryker is in a serious relationship with another man. She meets and has dinner with Ryker who has snuck into the human realm and obviously her soul/heart recognizes him while her mind doesn't, and she ends up sleeping with him even though she does think about what this will do to her boyfriend back home. This in my mind could be considered cheating and if this is a hard no for people than this is your notice. This however happens only one time and there are serious consequences for both parties.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one because what an ending! This does leave on a cliff hanger as this is a 5-book series that follows the same couple and has a continuing storyline.

Light Lost is the second book in the Shadows and Light series, and I enjoyed it just as must as the first book, but for slightly different reasons. This one would have been much more difficult for the author to write as it spans over eighty years and a lot of it takes place on multiple worlds, introducing multiple new characters as well as developing a lot of characters that didn't get a lot of time in the first book. There was a lot more world development, something I really enjoyed, and I got a better grasp of the political system which helped understand some of the underlying issues and machinations that were going on.
Haven, the main character in the first book, was more of a secondary character until halfway through this book, which was kind of refreshing as it gave the author a chance to develop Ryker's character, who played more of a secondary role in the first one. So, in effect, the roles were kind of reversed. Because Haven was in stasis, Ryker had to live without her for eighty years, continuing to do his job. It gave the author a great opportunity to display the difficulties of separation from a male perspective; Ryker suffered from depression, loneliness, anxiety, stress, and made reckless decisions as a result, and the consequences were severe at times. Because it not only affected him, but his entire family, the consequences shocked me at how serious they were and I loved how the author showed the ripple effects one person can have on a large group of people. This was so incredibly well done, and Silas is my hero.
Because Haven was almost non-existent for the first half, it gave the author plenty of time to develop other characters so I was thrilled to learn more about Silas and Trinity as well as a hot of others. While I am definitely not a fan of Lilith, her chapters kept me on my toes and amplified my tension level. And I did like learning more about her, what she up to, and with whom she associated. I was particularly interested in Ash, and boy did I completely miss the connection and hints about him. Needless to say, I don't shocked very often, and this was one of them.
While Haven and Ryker's affair was put on a back burner for quite a while, the story is quite deceptive. What seems like a slow burn actually has a lot going on, with so many political twists and turns that it kept me turning the pages. I liked learning more about the alliances with other races and how that affected the seraphim, knowing some of what was happening when the characters didn't, realizing afterwards that the author was quite skilled at keeping the biggest secrets just that, secret, until they were revealed at the end. One of my biggest complaints from the first book was the info dumping, and how the author gave away too many plot points as she switched POV undermining the tension and what was happening. Let me say that this was fixed in this book and just when I thought I had a grasp of what was happening, it all got dumped on my head. So while the book still had multiple POV, it no longer had that info dumping that spoiled things in the first book, but was used to move along the plot and the characters.
Light Lost was a worthy sequel to the first book and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Both the character and world development were good, and the story was more fast-paced than it seemed at first because it is deceptive in its intensity and its development. You don't even realize the tension is building until something happens, then you are dealing with the ramifications and consequences, moving along to the next episode. I liked how the author used dialogue to give information and you don't even realize it's info dumping until afterwards, but it's far more effective than giving away plot points through the use of POV which was the case in the first book, as it kept the tension at a much more elevated level throughout the book. I am very much looking forward to book 3 when it releases in March 2024.
Light Lost by Georgia C. Leigh is the second book and continuation of the story the Shadow and Light series. This book had my attention the entire time. Leigh is able to include more story telling to expand the world in under 700 pages. There is a strong balance of romance and political plot to keep you entertained during the trial. And naturally, over the course of 80 years you’re going to meet some new characters as well.
The first act of the book goes back-and-forth between both worlds and shows how the characters in each spend their 80 years of the trial. With Ryker in Praesia and Haven in Terra, it presents a great opportunity for story dynamic and development which Leigh definitely does not sit on. Leigh includes the nuggets of the 80 years that move the plot along with smooth transitions and time jumps in the story.
Ryker is put through the wringer emotionally while adjusting to the trial. Their love was a slow burn in Book 1, but when they both fell they fell fast and hard. A love like that, especially one that is mated, must be a one in a million. So much so that he even tempts fate and risks his life for her on multiple occasions.
The second act focuses on the events after the trial. Were they successful or not? I’ll let you read and watch how that unveils. The readers are able to reconnect with a lot of characters and see growth, even though for some in the story, it felt like time stood still. This is the point where I started theorizing my thoughts for how the book was going to end and wow, was I still caught off-guard.
One aspect I thoroughly enjoyed in Light Lost , was Leigh’s inclusion the antagonists' stories and not only that, but their relationships with lover, comrades, and family. It added a more human aspect to the villain pod (aka everyone who was out for pure dominance of Praesia…and Haven). It helps the reader make those story connections…also I am a sucker for a villain’s backstory and getting inside their minds to see what makes them behave and feel how they do.
Thankfully there is a Book 3 releasing on March 19, Shadow Rising. So there is less time to wait to see how our cliffhanger ending of Light Lost will continue on. I did a tandem read of Light Lost on Audible and Kindle (Unlimited, then I bought the ebook). I highly recommend both versions or doing a tandem read.
Honestly, if you’ve read this book, that could be the review and you would totally get it.
If you haven’t read book one, move along from this review. 3 . . . 2 . . 1 .
If y’all are here still that means you read book one, or you want some spoilers because the anxiety of the book is getting to you. I get it.
1. The trial- my heart was knotted up the entire time. I feel like my soul aged 80 years of agony with Ryker. You will feel everything he feels in this book. Ryker is going to destroy you, if the trial doesn’t destroy him/us first.
2. Lilith. Do I need to say more? If you despised her in book one, just hold on for the ride of your life. Don’t have anything breakable near you. She really is in a class of her own.
3. HOPE! I loathed Hope. When I tell you, WHEN I TELL YOU! There is a twist coming that flips your world upside down. Ugh… you’ll see Hope in a whole new light.
We’re going to time hop a few times in this book, getting through the hellacious 80 year mating trial. Easy to get a little lost.
Ryker is going to accidentally find a loop hole to see Haven, but it could cost him his life, and your mental health.
Lukas finally finds a back bone, but is it too late?
Haven wakes up, and has lost her memory, it comes back thanks to Dax ( hey boo 😘 i❤️ Dax) but do her feelings for Ryker?
If you think you’ll find closure in this book, don’t hold your breath unless you have a safe spot to pass out against.
You’re left hanging on by a thread of sanity searching for missing pages needing more.

I purchased the audiobook through audible and I highly recommend it! It's the same narrator as the first and she does a fantastic job.
The blurb for the book does a thorough job of saying what this book is about, and I'm afraid to add any more because I don't want to risk spoilers. I will say that only this author could find a way to separate bonded mates and give us this amazing slow burn again so brilliantly. My girl Haven is always suffering, and given the ending of this book, I don't think that will end anytime soon.
This book is based around Haven and Riker's bond and their quest to find each other again, but it is so much more than that. Even if you got rid of all of the delicious slow burn and juicy smut (you had better not!), this is a wonderful fantasy read filled with tension, action, and betrayal. There was not a single moment of this book that I wasn't completely enthralled by the story. I was literally dreading the ending, and avoided listening to it for several days because I didn't want to finish. This author could make the rest of this series thousands of pages long for each book, and I would DEVOUR them!
I am so excited that there are more books coming up for this series. If this author writes them, I'm going to read them! Or, listen to them in my case. Highly recommend this series!
Light Lost is book two of her five book series. It's a story following Haven and Ryker's love story. They have to prove their mating bond is real by having Haven go to Terra for eighty years and forget her life with Ryker and her friends. Ryker didn't want it, but Haven said to wait for her. When Ryker goes to see Haven in Terra, it breaks my heart into a million pieces. I cried so hard for him. The twists and turns to their journey to find each other again are very well written! I found myself yelling at Haven and Ryker for the choices they made. Their characters had great development from the first book, Light in the Shadows. I really enjoyed the side characters. My favorite was Silas, and his banter with Ryker was hilarious. I even found myself liking Ash 🫢. Even though he is a bad guy. Georgia C Leigh made all her characters relatable, even Lillith 🤢🤮. The book has action and adventure, and I know I will be thinking about this book for a while!

Ms. Georgia has blown my mind yet again. This book is broken down into three parts. The first part is Haven’s 80 year trial. Haven is in college so approximately 20 years into the simulation. This is the only life Haven knows. Haven is still the same. No real connections. Her family has passed away and she is trying to figure out her life on her own. To make it through, Haven focuses on her job. Her life becomes her job. No real feelings. She doesn’t realize how little she is feeling until Ryker comes to visit her. Due to the simulation, Haven does not remember him but feels an unexplainable connection.
Ryker is not doing well. This trial is not what he wanted and losing Haven after knowing and loving her for a short time is taking a toll on his life. Ryker’s Triad is also suffering. He just can’t seem to focus. Going to see Haven tends to make him worse. Especially when he finds out she lives with someone.
There is a lot going on in this book. Part two is the end of Haven’s trial. Her memory did not rebound as it should have. She doesn’t even remember being a Seraphim. She is slowly getting acclimated to a world that is new to her. All she remembers of Ryker is the time they spend together when he visited her. The feelings aren’t there and for some reason the bond is gone. Many people are starting to think that they are not really a bonded couple. There are a lot of players on the field that want Ryker and Haven to go their separate ways.
The things that come out in this book will have your mind blown. All the major players are still there. Though this book spans 80 years, 80 years is not long there. Lilith is still after gaining power at any cost. A new form has made it way to Berinia and is reeking havoc while continually getting stronger. Everyone seems to have their own agenda. Ryker just wants Haven. Now that she is finished with her trial, that dream might not come to pass. This isn’t it. Another book is coming. I don’t want to leave this world.
Okay, it had been a minute since I read book one in this series ... I'm now doing a reread of it and then a reread of Book Two... I was totally lost, obviously not with the main character stories, Ryker and Haven are stuck in my brain, but the host of support characters and who was who, had my head spinning, hence the reread of both books and then a third reread before the next installment. Is it worth it? 1000%, yes!! This storyline is phenomenal, character development is spot-on, chemistry is well, there, in bucket loads .... plenty if moments to cry, mourn, laugh, pull for your favorites and contemplate the downfall of your not-so-favorites. Definitely recommend this book, this series and this author (although a reread may be in order!
A wonderful inclusion to the Shadows and Light series. The pacing is a little faster in this book, but there is SO much story covered in under 700 pages. I found myself gutted for Ryker as he navigates 80 years of loneliness, anger, and guilt while waiting for Haven to return.
The characters, plot twists, and worldbuilding in this are wonderfully done. Even with the sheer amount of events happening in this, at no point did I feel disconnected from the story. Leigh's prose is crisp and engaging, and this book isn't bogged down by large swaths of info-dumping exposition. Strong characters carry the story through an absolute kaleidoscope of emotions and intrigue to an ending that is both surprising and inevitable. I loved every page of this.
This book had me on rollercoaster of emotions. Griped from the get-go, I could not put this down and read it in one sitting.
The story picks up where Light in the Shadows finishes. Haven is bound to her 80 years as a human, and Ryker is left behind sturuggling to live without her.
Haven is blissfully unaware of the loss of Ryker and living a human life. Ryker, meanwhile is struggling to cope and crosses over to catch a glimpse of her. Strap in for the long haul on this because they dont reunite for the first half of the book, and when they do, all is not the same.
Tricks, betrayals, plots, and villains you dont see coming await you in this story, which again ends on a cliffhanger 😭
Roll on 19th March 2024 for the next instalment.

Literally screaming right now! The chokehold the last few chapters had on me is ridiculous! Where is book 3?!
I think I experienced every emotion possible. Georgia describes each scene so beautifully that I feel like I’m living the moment with the characters. Ryker’s sadness and pain from being separated from Haven. Haven’s confusion and disappointment when the trial ends. The end of chapter 54 absolutely melted my heart. I did not see the twists at the end coming and I experienced so much anxiety trying to finish the book. I absolutely love the bond between Haven and Ryker. And Ryker is definitely my new favorite book boyfriend 🤌🏼🥰
The first third takes place in the trials, and absolutely ripped me apart with Ryker trying to manage 80 years without Haven. The memory loss and broken bond of the second part was gut-wrenching and made me so angry. I can’t even say how many times I wanted to throw the book.
The ending made me into a ball of nerves.
I had some struggles with the fact that there were so many characters that played important parts, and keeping them straight. It’s also a little confusing with different types of demons and magical beings. Despite this though it was an excellent book that hooked me. I couldn’t put it down.
A note to the author - Georgia C. Leigh - Why would you do this me?! This book was SO FREAKIN GOOD! I don’t think I can wait for book 3.
The story picks right up from where book 1 (Light In The Shadows) left off. I was concerned that it would get boring because if would focus mainly on the Trial which is an 80 year simulation of Haven living a different life without Ryker. The author surprised me! Ryker made his appearances in her world and shook things up! I was got so excited every time he made an appearance in Terra. I was secretly hoping that their bond would show through and the trial would be cut short and they would be together again…..but it never happened.
My heart broke for him 💔 I felt his pain while reading. His struggle stirred up some emotions in me and it wrecked me! I couldn’t stop thinking about him and his heartache. Even when he was reunited with Haven he was still in pain. I just wanted to shake some sense into her!!
And Lilith! Her scheming is top notch. I know she’s fictional but I wish I could be there in the story as a witness when she gets what’s coming to her 😂. I was completely surprised at the twist of Haven’s stolen bond! I didn’t see that coming at all - maybe I’m just dumb but I was shocked!
I could talk for days about this series. I absolutely LOVE it. I know it’s early but so far it’s the top read of this year.

I thought book one was an emotional roller coaster; this one was so much worse. We as the reader suffer along with Haven and Ryker as they endure the eighty-year separation for the trial. There were so many times I had the urge to throw this book across the room. However, it's worth it. Because when it all comes together, it's fantastic. Until they are torn apart again. Book three cannot be released soon enough. I cannot remember the last time a book made me this emotional. Kudos the author for some amazing writing.
Light Lost continues Haven and Ryker’s story. Both characters grew throughout the novel. Ryker’s pain of separation was well written and felt as the reader’s own. Watching Hope find herself and her relationships with others after her trial was wonderful to read.
I’m usually able to figure out things fairly well but this book kept me guessing and surprised me a few times. Can’t wait for Book 3 and not sure how I’m going to wait for 2 more books after that.
It felt like I spent a lot of time lost, for most of the book, and then a little more clarity at the end. It was frustrating for sure, but it was also completely fascinating how she weaves the story together and the pieces start to fall into place and some really nice touches of the unexpected. There was a sense of urgency waiting for the characters to get where I wanted them to be, but also worth the wait for you to feel the real connection behind their relationship. I can't wait to see what book 3 brings.
This was a really well-done follow up to the first novel. It picked up right where the last one left off and I appreciated how the story was told because it truly is a unique one with the plot line. There were a few plots in this book but somehow it didn’t feel confusing and I was able to understand and switch between them pretty easily. I liked the fact that there was an overarching plot that affected all the characters and the little subplots. Harper and Ryker still make my heart burst with so much love.
The end of book one had me intrigued and also a bit confused as to how it would continue in book two since the end of book one was mostly happy with Haven and Ryker.
For the first half of Light Lost Haven kind of annoyed me, but then I realized it’s perfectly understandable for her to be reacting in the way she is… very human; and definitely how I would react to waking up as a whole other species after a human life. Georgia successfully bridged the gap between the seraphim and the humans in book two. I’m extremely excited for book 3, and I can’t wait to see how the story continues!

First and foremost, I gotta say book 1 (LITS) walked so this one could run! Soo much happened, I found myself having to intentionally slow myself because my emotions (and i think i felt ALL the emotions) were getting the best of me. While a certain L named character is high up in my list of least liked characters, I appreciate the time spent furthering character development, as well as world building. If book 3 is anything like this we are all in for a treat.
This book was even better than the first! Ahhh I felt all the emotions in this one, my heart was ripped out and stomped on and the out back together piece by piece throughout the book. There were so many twists and turns and "oh my god, what the f just happened". The last line of the book had my jaw dropping to the floor. WHATTTTT?!?!?!?! here we freaking go! LOVED and can't wait for the third to come out!
Light Lost was amazing, and so different from the first book (in a good way). The character felt more mature and the threats to our main character group also felt more mature than the last book. I again love how she was able to fit 75-80ish years in one novel and it still did not feel rushed.
I don’t have one negative thing to say about this book, definitely pick this series up ASAP!!!
The second book in the series was very emotional for sure. The writing in this book is so good. It will have you so invested in the characters (even the ones we love to hate). I am still new to reading fantasy and learning all the supernatural things that go with it, and it can sometimes be hard but the lovely glossary in this book was so helpful. Thank you for that! The ending…..can’t wait for book 3!
I thought that the first book was good, but this one was so much better! I can thoroughly say that this book had me on the edge of my seat hoping/waiting for Ryker and Haven to get back together. So much more is explained and the amount of audible gasps I had was hilarious! Absolutely can not wait for book 3!
Book 2 was slow at first qith the drama that was happening in the characters lives, but sooo good setting everything up for the story , the twists and secrets were very impressively written, and draws you in deeper into the story,. I am so fully invested in Haven and Ryker now I need to know more !!!!!!
I enjoyed this book but it also drove me crazy. I couldn’t put it down until I couldn’t fight sleep any longer and passed out at 5am. I just needed to see Haven and Ryker reunited and then they finally are and then there was a lovely freaking plot twist. My heart hurt for Ryker SO MUCH throughout this book. I need the next book asap!

The last sentence. Are you kidding me?! What a huge cliffhanger. I cannot believe it! This book had me on a rollercoaster and I loved it. Ryker’s love and devotion to Haven is incredible. I loved watching their love story unfold again, in such a more in depth way. I loved this book. I can’t wait for the third!
