Everyone wants to be loved, but what happens when it’s a serial killer that loves you? Join Charlotte, as she fights her attraction to the man that changed her life before taking her away. How can something so wrong, feel so right?
Charlotte
I felt the pull between us the moment we met, like his soul was waiting for mine. I know that under all that gruff, grumpy, quiet exterior is a heart bigger that most, I’ve seen it. But also he showed me something else; what he hides beneath even deeper. A darkness that wants to swallow me whole. Why couldn’t he be different? Normal? No, instead he takes me in the night and all I can do is hold on tighter, when my head says to let go. What do I listen to; my heart, body, and soul or my head, my morals, and reason? Not that it matters, because Daniel isn’t asking.
Daniel
She’s mine! I have never felt this way about anyone. I kill because I need it, it calms me deep in my soul but Charlotte stirs my heart in a way like never before. The moment I set my eyes on her a new game began, a new hunt with a different reward, one I intend to claim. She may not want to admit it to herself but her body can’t lie to me but for now, I can love her enough for both of us. I want her heart, her body, and her soul. If that means taking her freedom too, then so be it.

‼️oh and yes they mostly kill bad people and abusers. I won’t say they have never killed an innocent person cause we don’t get all that info. It didn’t bother me here
So true them serial killers don’t like teenage sex 😂 “It makes it so much easier to sneak into a house at night when people are sleeping—everyone knows that—but it is even easier to get in unnoticed when they’re fucking. Too lost in each other to notice or even care what else is happening”.
-‼️The only thing I was missing is the I Love yous… they didnt exchange them and I feel like it needed to happen especially from her. I mean we know they love each other they say it in their POV and to others but I would have liked it. In the end she was HIS and that was that 🤭

- dark romance - Halloween - He’s a killer - Dual v
He meets her at the parking lot when her and her friends are going to a cabin. He sees her and insta love. He hasn’t talked in 18 years, but starts when he sees her.
Safety Both v. She has had boyfriends before, so done some stuff, but H never touched a woman.
Didn’t like: - Didn’t like how the brother was in the same room when they slept together the first night. The brother did the laundry while they fuck*d.
- Also felt we missed a lot of important things about the H and why he killed people once a year.
- How he not only killed the boyfriends of her friends ( bc they were asses), but they also killed her two best friends
- The ending camed out of nowhere

Your standard serial killer romance that takes you down "what if"ville and turns sharply at "never would it never" street. What if Jason from the Friday 13th movies had a brother aged Michael; a whole family really, who owned a campsite. What if Jason wasn't a soulless swamp monster but a townie who was select mute, built body body with a masculine face but liked to murk people every Halloween but he unexpectedly falls in love.
Spoilers ⚠️🛑🚨
Tropes:
#foundfamily for both main characters. The FMC always wanted to be a part of a larger family, and overnight, she gets it. Daniel has a sad backstory you get to unfold
#dualVirgins both mains get to lose their V- cards with one another, but you know there isn't that talk about blood, being tight, how hot it is to be with only each other.
#maskedmen #bloodymaskedmen
#weirdsmexwithweirdobjects
Plot moves quickly within 12% of the story the FMC Charlotte, that's Charlie if you know me, is dropping sir and getting spanked by the MMC, Daniel, I like to murk people, steong silent type is dropping "good girl"s and rumbled "you're mine" like candy. And the anticipation of how the author is going to continue their love story when he mercilessly murks all of her good friends.
Nothing brings a couple together like watching your newfound love get stabby stabby. The book resembles all the players from Friday 13th 1 or 2 fairly well. Former summer camp counselors drive up from college to spend Halloween weekend at the campgrounds.
🔪Do you have the rude and gross dude who's there as a friend of ✅️
🔪Do you have the goody uptight girl with the steady man ✅️
🔪The new guy is trying to get it on..er..find love with the Final Girl ✅️
🔪The horny couple who can't stop f*ing ✅️
Once the sterotype stage is set and we see Daniel roll up in a mask, it's game on. The only downside is the last 25%. Charlie's reaction to the entire situation doesn't really feel authentic. Her character motivations don't add up, and she continually makes choices that serve the romance but not really the story. But I will definitely drop in for Book 2.
Book 1 was fun, my biggest pet peeve... When the select mute MMC starts to speak again miraculously due to good love. For once, one for the quiet dude to stay quiet and growly.
Okay….what an abrupt ending that was tbh. Uh idk if I can that I loved this cause it just seemed that the plot was secondary to the smut and there was quite a bit of it (and that’s saying something cause I love smutty books when done right and balanced with plot!)
Some things just didn’t make sense?? Like how Daniel would just pop up places? Especially at the very end…. Like come on now, that doesn’t make sense and we all know it (if you’ve read it lol).
Going off vibes?? I had a good time and I’m gonna choose to keep it like that cause this was a short book and I didn’t mind it. Going to book 2 rn, maybe it’ll play out better lol

The storyline of this is good, the plot I’m a little confused on. The FMC seems younger in personality and quick to submission. This book starts off really quick and is kind of insta love. Idk, it was good but kinda confusing. I also could not picture any positions they were in.
✨Tropes✨ Serial Killers Insta love Submissive FMC Hand necklaces Spanking Calls him sir Pregnancy (at the end)
DNF@15% I was bored. And wasn't invested enough in this story. The writing def wasn't gripping enough to hold my attention and based on some reviews I've seen, I'm not missing out on much by DNFing. No OW drama/cheating/sharing, maybe SA???, slight OM drama, dual virgins (from what I've gathered)
Kaysoooo, going into this you need to know that this is seriously fawked up. Like the H and his brother are serial killers, but them killing her two besties is completely and utterly unjustified. Sooo, me being me — I just shut the moral part of my brain off, and enjoyed the ride. And what a ride it was! 😂
Thoughts while reading…
— I don’t know how she held her pee for so long, it was literally two to three chapters of her having to pee while meeting the H for the first time.
— Um… not homegirl getting spanked by the H’s brother too?! Stawwp it!!! I had to reread that a few times bc… unuh.
— Last but certainly not least… who would go to Costco for ONE pregnancy test?! Like… all the gas stations you passed along the way and you ended up at Costco?! Yeah, make it make sense Charlie.
Anywhooooo…
🩷’d: •H is mute w/ everyone minus h •”put me away” 🥵 •H “but I guess a part of her understands that you don’t have to be afraid of the dark when the scariest thing in it loves you.” •Mikey❤️ •the infamous throat grabbing
⚠️ + Info: — Dual POV — Instalove — Age gap: H (28) h (20) — Serial Killing H — Murder — Death of loved ones — Mentions of childhood abuse — Spanking + other punishments (very ouch & ew) — Dual Virgins🍒 — 🥵all the way @ 57% — OMD: OM wants h but she always turns him down. There’s a scene where he gropes her & kisses her attempting to do more — Drugging attempt (h didn’t drink the laced drink) — No: OWD, sharing, cheating, push/pull, or 3rd act break up — Separation: 3 weeks, and spans chp.33-34 — HFN: She’s pregnant, and he came back for her. (I was so mad at this ending I almost deducted a star. LISTEN UP MISS AUTHOR, I politely request a bonus epilogue SOME DAY. Please. And thank you.)

I love a good serial killer dark romance and Jennifer checked all my boxes with her deliciously dark debut!! ***Please check TWs before diving in***
Charlie is young woman who is looking forward to a girls’ weekend but doesn’t expect to catch the eyes of a man who has a dark side. What she didn’t expect more was to fall for him. I enjoyed her push and pull with her conscious, combined with her sweet nature - it made falling for her would be killer even sweeter.
Daniel is a man who (with his younger brother) has had a rough past and is protective over his family. They get one day out of the year to take care of unsavory individuals and this time around things go a little differently when he meets Charlie. His laser focus and protective/obsessive nature on her was a dark delight to see, especially when she breaks through his walls.
This is a roller coaster of a ride that is fast paced and flows like a dream. I love how Jennifer cranked up the suspense with each chapter and really made all the characters come to life. This talented author pulled me in from the beginning and kept me in a chokehold and on the edge of my seat with the panty melting spice and the twists and turns. I can’t wait to see which brother falls next!!
I am giving this book 4 stars because I liked the concept. It was entertaining to read. I have two issues 1. The ginger I will leave it at that and the biggest one: I could not relate what so ever not in any way, shape, or form to the FMC specifically because she was so irrevocably uncomprehsively and OTT stupid. Even her actions before she knew anything was amiss spoke of a depth of stupidity I until now never thought possible in an adult. I will say that if she had an ounce of self-preservation and even a thimble of common sense, she would not have found herself in the predicament she was in. Also she was a fucking horrible friend.

:: “Mine” by Jennifer Ivy 🚀 —♡— Favorite line : “You and I, we don’t need a truce. We just work.” —♡— This tik tok sound is me and we are one.
“He was the best guy around” “What about the people he murdęred?” “What murdahhhh?”
Charlie is in a battle between her heart and her morals. The cute guy she met and kissed at the gas stations turns out to be a serial k!ller who wants her and only her and he isn’t taking no for an answer.
This book was hot and spicy and also left me swooning. Daniel - even though he is crazy and gives ghostface a run for his money when the time comes. He’s so sweet, and he had me screaming “a MAN!” and “a KING” multiple times in this book.
Even though some scenes l wished for more details, I loved this book. I really enjoyed it and had a great time reading. It pulled emotions out of me that I was missing while reading when it came to the hero’s (male mc) of books. I read this book twice back to back. And I can’t wait to read the next few books in the series. The author posted on IG about the brothers getting their own books and I’m so excited. I’m hoping Kaleb’s book gives “cat and mouse” / “pr!mal” vibes since he likes a chase but either way I’m excited for more books to drop by Ivy.

Daniel and his younger brother Michael had a rough upbringing before being adopted by the Cromwells. Their biological father was an abusive drunk who hated noise. One night Michael was crying and Daniel stepped in to protect his brother from a beating that led to Daniel dying. Daniel was threatened that if he acted up again his father would go after Michael instead which led to Daniel not speaking for years. Even with him and Daniel being adopted and loved by Cromwell, him finding his voice, him k!lling his father, he still decided not to speak anymore. Still being about to communicate with his family he hasn’t felt the need or urge to speak until he laid eyes on Charlie. After nearly running her over with his truck 18 years later Daniel uttered his first word.
“Mine.”
That word changed the lives of many that day, some for the better and some for the worst.
Charlie is a 20 year old Senior in college and she and her two friends / roommates decided to spend their Halloween weekend at the camp Charlie and her roommates' boyfriends worked at. While making a pit stop for gas and bathroom breaks Charlie nearly gets hit by a truck. And behind the wheel was a huge mystery man that calls to her submissive side. From that one interaction Charlie finds herself in his arms and him in flooding her mind.
Charlie ends up spanked and with her back pressed up against the bathroom door as Daniel devours her lips for the first time, him devouring anyone's lips for the first time. Little did Charlie know that she was kissing the lips of a man who was coming to kill her friends with his brother and taking her home.
Okay, like I said above I love this book. Despite Daniel and his brother mürdering innocent people (well four was innocent Dale tried to drüg Charlie and he $exually a$saulted her) Daniel is the whole package. LOL. For a fictional man I need him. He did it for me in this book. He’s dark, rough, possessive, protective, and has the “come between me and mine you’re d3ad” vibe going on, I love!!. I love dominant men. Especially if this dom never had any sexual/intimate interest/urges ever in his 28 years of living until he met Charlie. When he saw her he spoke for the first time in 18 years and his first words were “mine.” And he MEANT THAT! This man was a v!rgin! I love a one and only theme! I nearly d!3d because I was already for him and Jennifer Ivy sprinkled that trope in I wanted to scoop Daniel out this book. Not only was nothing going to stop him from standing on business and getting what he wants Daniel had a family that stood ten toes down for him! Especially his lil brother Michael, Michael was the captain of this ship and with his crew - Kaleb (brother), Helen (mom), Christopher (dad), Sam (sister) - that ship was NEVER gonna sink.
And it didn’t despite the police Deputy Cooper tryna to come after them. I predicted a pregnancy trope happening because the spice scenes were chef’s kiss and not only wears Daniel finishing in$ide her he kept saying subtle things like addition to the Cromwell family, having trick-or-treaters of their own. When my man Daniel fell he fell first and he fell HARD. A king I tell you. A he is a man of his word when he said forever.
Oh yeah, and Daniel is rough and a little kinky!
💭 TIFFS RANT STARTS NOW (you can skip)💭
— I feel like the ending was a bit rushed. It hit all the points but a lot of out in the chapter before the epilogue. Charlie went from talking to Cooper learning about the restraining orders, to being in her dorm, to being at the college counselor, finding evidence against the Cromwell boys, her being back at the dorms then her being back in Ohio with her family three weeks later. It was a lot of jumping that confused me a bit. I just wish there was a symbol to certain the times spans instead of spaces or more chapters. Plus, her going to Costco about “I need to know” if she was pregnant or not that just randomly popped up like she didn’t talk about symptoms or her reasoning for why she thinks she’s pregnant. Showed her sad and not eating but that understanding with her situation.
— Moments with Michael I just didn’t like for me personally. With him spanking her one with Daniel present and one without. Like don’t touch me you aren’t my man Daniel. You don’t get to. But what I really dislike is the moments she was naked. There's no love triangle at all, not even an interest. I just dislike her liking having an audience (HIM BEING THE AUDIENCE) when they had $ex the first time. Then the two times she and Daniel were nak3d in bed with no covers covering them. She would just say “Daniel’s brother seeing me in a state of undress isn’t really that big of a deal” and “his hand possessively covers it, as if Michael hasn’t already seen that and more” like girl be on so for real. I just dislike that. Other than that I love Michael. But both Michael and Charlie should’ve covered up. Just my opinion.
— Sam when she allowed Deputy Cooper into the house and she almost let Deputy Cooper speak with Charlie’s after he accused Charlie’s and her brother as suspects. She was just so dumb.
— I didn’t like Daniel coming at Michael sideways, especially when Daniel was like “It stops now. Please don’t make me choose, Mikey.” Daniel…Sir…don’t tick me off. It wasn’t that serious. Michael would never hurt Charlie and basically said that even saying “If her thinking that I don’t have one [a heart] is what it takes to keep you safe and happy, I’m okay with that.” He’s willing to be the bad guy to keep you happy, Michael has been doing nothing this whole book but help you kidnap a girl and you wanna question his loyalty. That blew me.
— The arrest scene. Deputy/Officer whatever Cooper tell her she can’t go back to Cromwell town IF he was fired. The sheriff of Cromwell told him he has to clean up his desk because he lied about evidence on the boys. So his restraining order on her should be invalid but I didn’t understand the temporary restraining order in the first place if there wasn’t any evidence against her. And if she’s a suspect wouldn't you want Charlie at the Cromwell station to figure out the murd3rs why take her back to college. Then he was talking about I called the local police and if Daniel shows up he’ll be arrested again on what grounds! Makes no sense. No evidence against him so isn’t that invalid. THEN Coopers like” ima keep an eye out on your guys if I see y’all together I’m come after Michael” (around those lines not actual quote)…sir you were fired. Get completely out of my face. I hope Christopher Cromwell helps Charlie and sues Cooper for everything he got because Cooper’s boss, well , ex-boss said the only one who kidnapped Charlie was him!
— Charlie being wishy-washy with Daniel. I don’t know if this is how Stockholm Syndrome works but while reading I was just like “girl pick a side”. She would be totally for Daniel and wanting to please him and be his good g!rl but would turn around and ask his mama for help, and saying a bunch of what-ifs. Charlie pick a side. I didn’t like when after her and Daniel had $ex in motel she was mad and upset talking about how she felt disgusted and used…… I understand Daniel should’ve woke up and and said by but you KNOW how obsessed tht man is with you. How much he worships the ground you walk on. Also that Cooper said “Anyone who tries to stop me will be arrested or shot” he probably had to rush out his life’s on the line too and you sitting in the car mad? Tuh!
💭 TIFF RANT ENDS NOW 💭
Overall, like I said before I love this book. I saw Ivy post about the brothers getting their own books and I CAN’T wait. I need these books NOW! It’s stated a few times Kaleb likes a chase with his k!ll and I hope his book is giving “cat and mouse” / “primal”. Either way I’m excited to read about Michael and Kaleb and hope to see Daniel, Charlie and their mini me. I also hope Cooper is donezo*.
A bit inconclusive, I guess? I wish the story was a little more focused on the MCs rather than the Hero's family and all the drama surrounding the killings. Other than that, not bad at all for a first-time author. I'll come back for more of her works for sure!

𝓜𝔂 𝓣𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓽𝓼:
What the hell did I just read??
I wanted to DNF sooo many times. The writing wasn’t good and was really confusing. The h was so stupid. I hated the H, and his brother was a creep. The brother literally threatened to kill the h and her family if she didn’t stay with the H. I only finished this so I could write this review and rant.
1.) He killed her two best friends. The rest of her “friends” sucked, but those two meant something to her.
2.) I didn’t like when the H broke into the house that he had the h think he’d let the guy friend of hers that liked her rape her (he was forcing himself onto her earlier and the H saw it). It was very uncomfortable to read.
3.) The brother seems like a perv/creep. The H and his brother are the ones that break into the house and kill her friends. When the H leaves the h with his brother (so he can have his turn killing people), she kicks the brother. He spanks her and tells her, “Behave for me as you would for him”….ew. He does it again, but when the H is around, the H didn’t seem to care. The brother then walked in on them fucking and began to pick up the room they were in, and again, the H doesn’t seem to care. The brother also called her “good girl” sometimes.
4.) I didn’t like the way he treated her. Inside and outside the bedroom. This was 100% stockholm syndrome. She tried to leave so many times. The spanking was too rough for me. Especially when he used the belt. Their first time he was also very rough, but so was every other time.
5.) The h didn’t know the man that broke into the house was him and was still very aroused and gave him head thinking it was a totally different person.
6.) STOP FUCKING PEOPLE WITH FOOD! Especially peeled ginger! That has to fucking BURN!!
7.) The epilogue was one page. Nothing was cleared up.
8.) Oh, also, when they first meet, she needs to use the bathroom, but the ladies room is taken. The H takes her to the men’s bathroom, and the only clean stall has no door. He does the "normal" thing and watches her pee in the mirror when she told him to look away.
I can’t name one thing I enjoyed. At least this is going to get me out of my slump. I HAVE to find a better book.

This was a safe and quick read. I just wish we could have gotten a longer epilogue of their HEA.🥲
I also loved the moment when he speaks for the first time in years when he sees the h, and the word that comes out of his mouth is “Mine”. 🫠🤭
Safety info: -No OWD. -Some unwanted OMD (If i remember correctly), but the H handles it. -Dual virgins. -She is his first in everything. -No cheating, and it ends with a HEA.
Daniel & Charlotte: Dysfunctional Love At Its Finest
This is the first book from newbie author, Jennifer Ivy. After finishing this book, I can honestly say that Ms. Ivy is off to a very good start!
MINE is a "serial killer romance" set around Halloween, where six college students decide to trespass and stay at a cabin in a small town to spend the holiday paired up in couples. Charlotte however is upset that her "girl's trip" has turned into a "couples retreat". Nevertheless, she goes along and tries to have fun. Their journey takes them to a small-town gas station to use the restrooms. It's there that Charlotte encounters the Cromwell brothers: Micheal and Daniel. Daniel takes an instant romantic interest in Charlotte, and she feels drawn towards him. After a bizarre, naughty first meeting between the Daniel and she, Charlotte leaves with her friends to begin their holiday. What she and her friends are unaware of is that Micheal and his brother Daniel have plans for the rowdy college group. Especially, sweet Charlotte.
I must say, this book was awesome! The suspenseful build and the attraction between Daniel and Charlotte were electric. Their scenes are very steamy, kinky and spicy. So, if you're seeking heat and a few "roadside spankings" are your thing, MINE serves and delivers.
Charlotte made some really questionable choices in this book. IMO (without giving too much of the plot away) many of these decisions can be attributed to her past. Daniel's background came of no surprise to me, as he must have had some reason behind him being a serial killer. What did shock me was the dedicated family he was a part of. As much as I wanted to dislike the Daniel and Micheal. By the time the book ended, I wanted more of them!
This book is not for everyone. It focuses on serial killers and a woman who falls madly in love with one. So, please check your triggers and reserve judgement enough to enjoy the story. I have been reading these types of books for a long time and am able to disconnect from the actions of the character and simply judge the book on the fullness of the plot, execution, and the characters. MINE checked all of the boxes and is one of the best serial killer romance stories that I have read in a long time. My only wish is that we were given a longer epilogue and a more detailed reunion of Daniel and Charlotte.
This first book opened the door for more in the series as I hope that Micheal and Kaleb, Daniel's other two brothers receive book on their own. Excellent read, Ms. Ivy! I look forward to reading more of your work!
Thoughts: good but some of it seemed forced. At the end, maybe 95% there were still lots of questions and holes left open, but the last 5% went real fast and wrapped everything up, like it was rushed.

The Dark Romance Summer Camp Slasher Vibes We Needed!
I love this series and can't get enough of Jennifer Ivy's serial killers!
This fast-paced book gives intense 80's summer camp slasher movie vibes in the woods, and it is so so so good! I read this book in one sitting because it had me hooked, and much like the FMC, you almost find yourself in a hazy reading daze as one jaw-dropping scene after another pulls you in.
In what universe are you rooting for the bad guys? In this one, apparently, because you desperately want the MMC to get his girl. The world-building is flawless, and I immediately went and purchased all the books in the series because I needed to know what would happen with this family.
Tension, captivity, trauma, insta-love, stockholm syndrome, found family, and the most OTT-protective morally black MMC in the entire universe. The FMC is perfect precisely because she is so quietly morally grey. Crossing paths with the MMC is what helps her cross that line and embrace her own brand of crazy. As a couple, they put the fun in dysfunctional.
Some say the ending is rushed, but I disagree. The ending invites you to step further into this world, this wild family, and embrace the insanity that is bound to unfold in each book.
If you're looking for a serial killer who is a cinnamon roll for his loved ones, this book is for you. It's a short and quick read, different from other books I've read, but I enjoyed it.
Daniel is different; he's unhinged but sweet, caring, and loving with his family, close people, and Charlie.
I loved Daniel's family; the connection between their brothers is strong and beautiful. I love their affection for each other.
I can't wait to read his brother's book (I hope there will be a separate book for them), especially Kaleb's. I'm thinking Kaleb's book will be a forbidden/taboo romance with Sam because they're not related. But maybe I'm wrong because this book didn't delve much into how their relationship is, as it's about Daniel and Charlie.
Just hoping Sam doesn't end up with Deputy 'fuckface' (I mean Officer Cooper 😂) because I don't like him
Note - please check trigger warnings before reading the book.
Dark and very twisted serial killer romance. Not at all what I was expecting and yes, I read the blurb before digging into this one. Jennifer is a great writer. She definitely has the imagination and brings that out in her stories. Don't decide to read this on a dark stormy night or even in the dark for that matter. Charlotte is on a weekend getaway with her friends. She runs into Daniel at the local gas station and he instantly claims her. But little does she realize what this means and what lengths Daniel will go too. Daniel becomes a whole different person when he meet Charlotte. Something in her brings out the good in him so to speak. But these two still face obstacles that are downright shocking. This whole book was intense and page turning right off the bat. But it was a good read. Different from what I normally read but still enjoyable and I will be reading the rest in the series.
“you don’t have to be afraid of the dark when the scariest thing in it loves you.”
Daniel💀❤️ The way he was too caught up in his emotions after meeting Charlie that he couldn’t talk. It wasn’t a werewolf romance but felt like one with all his growling and one word answers.
The supportive brother that is Michael 🙌🏼❤️😭 Daniel being a man of few words, his brother speaking on his behalf and as to why was 💔
The morals in this book is screwed, because Charlie’s dilemma over right and wrong was💀💀🤌🏽 her confusion made me questioned myself 🤣. Also Daniel’s mum😭🙌🏻❤️
Read many books where the MC says mine a lot but here the word “MINE” felt different.
🫚 I’m not looking at ginger with same eyes anymore 🍑🫚🫣😂
I’m looking forward to Michael and Kaleb’s book💀❤️ Great debut novel from Jennifer Ivy. Thank you💓
