Some of my absolute favorite characters have been stuck in a Chinese prison for how long? It’s finally time to do something about it. But wait, fans, that’s not all! We get the back story (complete with a detailed timeline, thank you very much) of the elusive husband.

Similar flashback style to books like Remember and Nemesis, and the numerous references to events in Scotland set up an incredibly ominous tone and built tension that had me fearing the absolute worst. But Sienna is on her game in near Control era proportions in an attempt to perform this impossible heist. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the parallels and differences between the end of Nemesis and this book are brilliant. A book that mirrors (and references) so much within the series and yet is its own unique adventure.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book. Not the longest installment, but every inch packs a punch. If this is mid-arc, I am excited, anxious, and terrified to see how it ends.

Holy schizzle mcschizz-face!

Now. I've been reading Robert's books for long enough that when we get a mid-arc book like this, I know there is a plan. And no. Of course, no spoilers.

But....

I can abso-effin-lutely be sure that you will be all "wtf?" at the end of this. Because that's what he does. Builds it up. Leaves you with a quasi resolution. And then throws in a cluster-eff bomb to leave you wanting more.

One of the advanced readers said this was the best mid-arc book she had read? Finding it pretty impossible to disagree.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I love Robert Crane and his In and Out of the Box series.
Sienna is such a force to be reckoned with. She and her team take names and kick ass in every single book.

What I love most about Sienna? She's fair. The world has betrayed her at every turn. She's the top most hunted meta in the US as well as the world. She's had dark metas after her for her entire life and she's coped so well. It's only strengthened her. In this book, her past enemies she once locked away in jail come to her aide. They have their own motives, but she's still fair with them. Cross her, and you most likely die. Help her or just be decent people and you live.

This story also answers a few of the relationship questions we've had for years.

Crane smashed it. I cant wait for the next one.

I thank Robert J Crane for giving his readers (myself included) a great synopsis of so many of Sienna’s friends and foes she has worked with and against over the years. We are reminded again that Sienna can see the good in most people even when said people don’t see it themselves. We have known for a long time that China has a long view plan for the future, however, the surprises along the way make this saga so enjoyable, making us beg for more. If you are new to Mr. Crane’s universe, you are in for a treat. Another 5 star adventure worthy of your time.

Absolutely amazing! As always. Sienna came to kick ass with quite the motley crew & walked away leaving only rubble behind. My only issue with the book was I ran out of pages before I was ready to be done reading. The fact the Sienna actually put trust in someone, other than herself, shows the amount of work she’s done on herself. Sharing the burden isn’t something she has ever felt comfortable doing. We all need a little help from our friends! Robert J Crane knocks it out of the park again!!! ❤️
