This book was an excellent take on the Jack the Ripper story. Even though it was near to impossible that the killer returned, so many murders of prostitutes led law enforcement to believe it is the work of a copy cat. The murders were happening so often that the police were at a loss at who the murderer could be. The entire force was on the edge and were increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress.
I really enjoyed this book. I felt the frustration of the police when all leads were a dead end. I cannot imagine being a woman in a time when woman were so insignificant that murder was acceptable, especially if they were a lady of the evening. The conditions of the time period made it difficult to process a murder scene and there were few forensic notions. It was upsetting to read about the conditions of orphanages and asylums. Definitely a recommended read.

From Hell and Back: Return To White Chapel, my first read from author Garrett Gorham. I read a lot of books, 105 so far in 2025, something about this book grabbed me and I read it in one sitting. There have been so many Jack the Ripper books written and I've read my share. “I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.

Taking place a decade after the last known killings of Jack the Ripper, I found this book to be very well written and I really enjoyed it. The story flows perfectly and the characters are fleshed out believably. No superheroes or superbrains here. I appreciated the story telling style of this author and surely will read more of his tales.

Great book! Fast-paced with well fleshed-hout characters and gory murders that mimic the actual Jack the Ripper murders, so it's not blood and guts for the sake of shocking the reader. The ending came out of left field but after reading it, I realized the author put several clues within the story. If you love history and horror, this is a great, fast read. I'm excited to see what else the author comes up with.

After the first few pages, I knew this was a book I wasn’t going to be able to put down, until I got to The End. If you like dark, absolutely unpredictable, twisted, raise-the-hair-on-the-back-of-your-neck type of horror and suspense as much as I do, you can't go wrong with this book! Thrilling, gripping, and addictive! Will keep you swiping the pages furiously. The suspense builds at just the right pace as the story unfolds. Worthy of your TBR list!

Women are being brutally murdered especially sex workers. Has the Ripper resurfaced? It looks like his work. The detectives are puzzled. A gripping thriller with an unexpected twist. I like the cover of the book and the plot with interesting characters.

A highly exciting read with interesting cast of characters. The storyline is unique keeps you on the edge of your seat. The descriptions of the people and places help to bring this book to life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it.

It’s been ten years since Jack The Ripper disappeared. But the killings have started up again. Is the Ripper back or is it a copycat? Regardless, the Peelers will have to do all they can to ensure the safety of all. Unfortunately for them, the killer is much closer than they could ever imagine. What a great read. The characters are quite great, the plot is interesting, and the descriptions are vivid in this suspenseful thriller. Is Jack the Ripper back?
Is he responsible for new body counts? that has been discovered 10 years later after his 5 previous victims? Or has someone picked up where he left off?
I seen this book and had to ARC this!
I myself have always been intrigued with Jack the Ripper. This mystery has always fascinated me.
This book contains short chapters and the Prologue of the introduction to Jack the Ripper. A good start to opening this book.
The writing style I enjoyed it was fast pace, suspense and dark. Does contain graphic crime scenes. The author clearly done research on the slang/talk back in the 1980s which made you feel like you travelled back in time.
Classic who done it and a dangerous game of cat and mouse. The ending I wasn't expecting at all, did shock me.
I flew through this I put off my current read to read and review this. And I was not disappointed. I devoured it within a day and half.
A short read it did leave me wanting more from this author so I will be checking out this authors previous book "Dark Harvest."
I want to thank the author for this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review..
