In this short Christmas caper, Denny has solved his first crime and has sworn not to solve another. His friends, however, are contagious. This time, Denny notices something is amiss with Father Christmas. Meddling a little seemed harmless until he stumbles on a real crime. Before he can help himself, he's been arrested for something he didn't do and needs to prove his innocence. Soon, coal in his stocking is the least of the things Denny needs to worry about. There are the crimes that are chasing him into a trap that he's not prepared to escape. Will Denny slide out of troulbe or will he find himself in shackles on Christmas morning?
Poor Denny cannot catch a break! He is jailed again, twice, in this story, trying to stop the fake Saint Nicholas from stealing money from his neighbors, in the guise of giving it to the orphanages. Still, after enlisting help from old school chums, he finally catches the thieves. I highly recommend this short story.
Beth Byers has several books using the same characters but from different points of view. They're coming fast and furious but the editing is lacking. There are lots of misspellings, duplicate passages and general errors that come from rushing your books to print. This is very disappointing. Slow down. Get back to basics. Don't ruin a good series.
Cute story, but so many typos, spelling and grammatical errors made it a difficult read. It was as if the author typed it out and did not proof read it. That definitely affected my enjoyment of story.
A very cute book for this time of year. I really enjoyed this short book. Denny is always getting into some predictment but it all turns out okay in the end.
