F*ck Steal Kill

Rate this book
In a town known for the macabre and bizarre, it didn’t provide many options for women outside of marriage. Working as a maid in a themed hotel hadn’t been my dream, but at least I got to do it with my two best friends—Lacey and Joy. To help with the boredom of living in a town with no future, we started a game. Select three people and cast them into their lots—to f*ck, steal from, or kill. At first, it was all hypothetical, but after an accidental murder, it became so much more. It became our escape. And with it, the birth of the XOXO killer and a way out of Foolshope for good. But when three gorgeous guys snagged my attention, it appeared our luck had finally run out. Someone was after us. It looked like we’d discovered another way out of this town after all—in a body bag. One thing was we would be leaving this town—either as another foolish victim of hope or covered in the blood of our enemies. Go ahead, underestimate us, and see which list you end up on. XOXO

If you are a fan of the Ruinous Love Trilogy by Brynne Weaver, then this is the book for you. It is very insta lusty, but it was a fun read. I found all the characters lovable.

Morally grey for the greater good!
This standalone focuses on Holland our FMC and her two besties Joy and Lacey who together are the XOXO killer 😯 although technically a serial killer they only kill those who truly deserve it!
Their actions, unbeknownst to them, have put them on the radar of both the Shadows and the Savages 😬 one of them wants the XOXO to join the organisation and one wants to destroy them 😳
Traditionally one who avoids feelings and connections Hollands turned up says down when she connects with three men all individually! With Q there’s an instant raw attraction between them 🌶️ with sweet Max it’s a sensual journey 🔥 and with Grady is a chemistry that could explode one way or another ☄️
When she realises the guys are a team things start to fall into place and she has some tough choices to make, yet thankfully her besties are there to give her a push along the right path 🥰
And it’s a good job she gives into these men as it’s going to take all six of them to pull the rescue off! It’s fast paced with some angsty moments in there 🙈
I really enjoyed how all their stories are connected- it’s a very intricate plot 😄
Loved that all three girls got their HEAs in the Epilogues 😁

So I read part of this in an anthology desperately waiting for the full monte. Let’s just say it did not disappoint. This book is very stabby and has some triggering content…bottomline, read the warning and don’t be douche canoe and leave a bad review because it was too dark for you.

Now I don’t spoil books because hello just read it and make your own opinion. But I will say with these three girls you are going to need a bowl of popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the dark gritty hilarious dialogue that comes from these characters.

- Reverse Harem/ Why Choose
- unaliving friends
- found family
- multiple POVs
- possessive growly men (love it!)
- bi-awakening (light MM, all exploration is with FMC)

4.5 ⭐️

After reading a handful of RHs, I’ve figured out I love when the main FMC meets the guys at separate times and then they all realize that they know each other close to the same time.

Holland and her fellow XOXOs are Bada$$ female characters. Love them and their relationships with each other.
The Shadows (our guys) were brought together by their past trauma and losses of family members by the hand of a bad group and are on the hunt for the ki||er. while also looking for the one staying under the radar of unaliving to join their group!

It’s been a journey and whew a good one at that!
Can’t wait to read Kris Butler’s backlist and her future reads 🤍

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved Holland. She’s a great fmc. She’s strong, fiercely protective, loving, and hilarious. I adore her friendship with Lacey and Joy. They have the best ride or die besties relationship. The guys are pretty fantastic. I love that bad boy Quentin is the one in touch with his feelings and willing to be patient and let Holland catch up. Max is sweet and adorable, with a bit of bossy that comes out in smexy times. Grady is the growly alphahole but once he’s in, he’s all in. I love that they were easily able to merge their groups and become one big happy family. I really enjoyed the chapters from other pov’s at the end too.

I really enjoyed this book- I liked how it not only concentrated on Holland's relationships with the guys, but also with her friends Lacey and Joy.

Max is my absolute favourite of the guys and I loved Joy! It would be good to have further books following each of the girls and their families to see where they are a few years in the future.

This is multi pov which I like as you always get a deeper understanding of the story this way. There is a bi-awakening and some mm content (also ff in Joy's chapter) so if that's not your thing you might want to skip past these parts.

I received an ARC of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Dnf @ 11%/ 4 chapters read

Idk I can’t pinpoint anything wrong with it, I just wasn’t clicking with it. Maybe if it caught me at a different time I would have liked it. I might try again later.

What a twist on a serial killer reverse harem. Loved the bond between the friends, the build up and tension between the harem members, and the spice was top notch! I just wanted more of Joy and Lacy’s stories. The epilogue gave just a small glimpse. Definitely a must read if you like serial killers, morally grey characters, and something fresh.

Absolutely twisted! And totally Fun!!

Do not miss this book! It’s totally deranged, but if you can handle gore violence and very morally gray characters, you’ll love this book!!! ☺️❤️❤️

The story could have been interesting but I didn’t like the writing.
It was all over the place, nothing was really developed and it was juvenile at times (especially Max who was sometimes thinking and acting like a 5yo, that was WEIRD)

Ehhhh…

I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it either. The concept was good. I think there could have been a lot more added to it to make it great, but it was okay overall. I did have a few issues with the book that kept me from rating it higher.

The spicy scenes (albeit good) seemed to just happen out of nowhere without much or any build up at all. They would be in the middle of talking and then BOOM…they’re stroking, kissing, grabbing, and copping a feel all over the place. I know that Holland is supposed to be this sexually free woman, but come on. For example, when Holland was talking to Grady about his dead fiancée (which she said she brought it up specifically to get some space between them), he barely starts talking about her before Holland is on her knees pulling him out.

Another issue was the inconsistencies. There were quite a few times when things would contradict something that was already happening. An example of this is when Max is tied to the chair in the room with Joy, and she takes off his button-up to cover up with. It talks about how his arms were tied, and they talked about later how the ropes were too tight that she would have to cut them off. So if they were that tight, how’d they get his button-up off for her to wear without cutting the sleeves? Also, the Savages were watching the guys at the hotel in the beginning KNOWING they were with the Shadows (they talked about it when they said they were going to keep an eye on Holland when she left the room), but didn’t have a clue who they were with when they confronted them in the end. It was little things like that that just got under my skin.

Lastly, the whole thing with the Savages wrapped up too easily for me. Sure you had a hiccup with the hostage taking from the first time they went there for the rescue, but they didn’t really face any real hardships. They walk into this “impenetrable fortress” like it is nothing. Escaped through a secret tunnel (that apparently the person who made the house didn’t know about but the bodyguard did) without anyone chasing you. Despite having around at least 75 mercenaries in the place, the 4 of them got in the second time to clear the way for the next teams without much of a fight. The Savages are supposed to be these big bad mercenaries that are so ruthless and highly trained, yet they are taken out like it was nothing.

Overall, it was a decent book. I feel like it could have been a lot better, but wasn’t bad.

🇬🇧This read was honestly a lot of fun!
It’s not every day you come across a “killer” who is actually three girls hunting down and taking out bad guys to save the day! Plus, the men are amazing too, and it’s such an easy, smooth read.

I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it as a palate cleanser – a good book with just a hint of dark.

The focus here, however, isn’t on the reverse harem, but rather on the friendships! And those are absolutely brilliant – the way they’re written really keeps you hooked from start to finish.

For me, it would’ve earned more stars if not for the fast burn, insta love, and the whole love bombing dynamic. I felt the relationship developed way too quickly and didn’t feel very organic, which left me just a little… disappointed.

🇵🇹

This stabby why choose book gives new meaning to a game, as well as takes it out of the field of game for fun to a game for keeps. This puts three ride-or-die besties on the radar of not only a just the right side of the law group but also that of the one true goal of our three-man team, also known as our leading men. The latter is a deadly radar. As they work for a single goal, the bright sides of both coins wind up in the wrong hands. They all aim to get the worst guy, but can they do that without drastic loss? When given the choice of bringing to justice or bringing into the fold, what choice do you make when impressed to find out your initial reason for coming to town isn't what you or who you expect? When given an opportunity to get the vengeance you seek, are you successful, or do you lose the best of you? When faced with more than you ever thought you wanted or expected to want in your life, do you go for it or shy away? Once? Twice? or even the third? Can everyone find their happiness? Will they be surprised to find what their hearts want? Will they embrace it, fight it, or a little of both?

Hits high on the suspense scale. Hits higher on the intrigue scale. And hits even a little higher still on the spice and steam scale. which would you do? F S or K? Myself, I'm getting stabby to keep this in my library.

Do you want to play a game?

This book is hot, hot, hot, reverse harem (RH) with a side murder. This is a story of two groups of assassins who take out the bad guys. This book opens by introducing you to three best friends, Holland, Lacey, and Joy, as they go through their day as maids in hotel. Their conversation revolves around which person they would f*ck, who they would steal from or who they would kill. You learn that this is more than just a game, they are paid assassins who help women and children by taking out the bad guys.

You are also introduced to another group of friends: Grady, Quenton, and Max. They are also in the same business and are in town looking for a killer; except they are not looking to take out the killer, they are there to recruit them. When the guys meet Holland fireworks fly.

This story involves friendship, love, action, and murder. While this is a RH, where the girl gets the guys, two of men embrace the long-fought desires they have for each other. This book has MF, MMF, MFMM spicy smexy times that may short circuit your Kindle.

If you like well written stories involving lots of love, unaliving bad guys, true friendship, and the freedom to love who want, this is a story for you. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

🖤 "Fucking was for pleasure, stealing for gain, and killing for sport."
______________________________________

I did like the storyline, but at first I felt like it started out a little slow, once things picked up I was hooked. It is multiple POV, not only of the FMC and MC's but also other characters (Ava, Lacey and Joy, plus a savage.) It's 100% instalove, the MC's (Grady, Max & Quentin) became possessive and obsessed with Holland as soon as they saw her. Holland is afraid to let them in because she's afraid they'll never accept her for who she is.

🖤 "Your darkness doesn’t scare us, sweetheart. It compliments ours.”

The last couple chapters are with Holland's friends Joy and Lacey and their romantic relationships (also poly.) I wish there was going to be more, an epilouge or something... I just want to see how more plays out.

🖤 "In the end, these three had been my ultimate fuck steal kill."

⚠️ As always, read the triggers.

This book was seriously such a fun read! You wouldn’t think a book about serial killers would be so fun but it really was. Holland and her girls are quite the crew!

So Holland, Lacey, and Joy are hotel housekeepers by day and unalivers by night. They fly under the radar because they’re female and it’s a small town but when a group of men come to town looking for a killer, they are afraid of being caught, but Holland only ends up catching feelings.

Holland and her men are hot as heck together and her and the girls have a friendship would all love to have. Kris Butler writes found family stories like no one else and this book is a perfect example.

We also get some chapters at the end about Lacey and Joy and Kris really kicked it up with the heat in Joy’s chapter. I know it isn’t going to happen but I would definitely love to see more written in this world. It was such a playful story despite the dark activities of the main characters. Highly recommend!

So I was excited to receive this as an ARC from Kris Butler! It was an amazing read. I have always had a love for reading thrillers and books that have to deal with serial killers! It was a fun ride! This story, Kris has done an amazing job with the characters. Holland and her gals are quire the crew.
The friendship between Holland, Lacey and joy is one for the books. It is a friendship we wish we all had at some point in our lives.
There is a love and protectiveness within them all.
There is of course the guys, Max, Grady and Quentin. They are all delicious and delightful in their own way. Each character will hold special place in my heart for sure but I am sure other readers hearts as well.
The story telling moves so effortlessly, it made you want to keep reading. There is Romance, entertainment, spiciness, laughs, darkness.... I can keep going. It just pulls you in.
Would I recommend this story to others, Absofreakinglutely!!

The good- I liked the concept, the FMC and her friend group were powerful gals who were making a way out of the stereotypical hole that the town would put them in. Though they seemingly wouldn’t be friends on the outside, their bonds were solid. The guys mirrored the girls, though honed in on Holland. The book had humor, suspense, insta-attraction, strong female characters, and bi-awakening for 2 of the guys.
The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars, was that the insta-love was a bit too instant for me… it being a contemporary book, all three of the guys, upon first sight of Holland, were like instantly obsessed… and it didn’t make sense to me for a bit. I mean, I get it… there wasn’t time for a long lead up… I just would have liked to see some events that made more sense that forged their first connection. But anyway, that’s just a personal preference, and by no means deterred me from enjoying the rest of the story. It was a well thought out and entertaining ride!

This is one of my favorite comfort re-reads. While it is a bit spicy, I love the friendship/found family with these characters. The guys are bonded together by both trauma and friendship. The women are similar, although not as traumatic as the guys.

The women are bad-asses in their own right, and don't need anyone to protect them. They have each others backs. Each one has a different skill set that helps them do what they do. I love that when the guys come into the picture, they don't try to coddle the women or force them to "sit this one out" because it might be dangerous.

I love the overarching plot that brings them all together. They work together really well and I think that shows the level of trust they have in each other. While most of the story revolves around the budding relationship between Holland and her men, I love that we see Joy and Lacey also find love and happiness for themselves.

There are some dark/twisted topics in the story, so check your triggers.

Another fantastic book by Butler, and I am not surprised one bit. This was one had me 100% texting me bestie afterward because the friendship Holland had with Lacey and Joy is one we all wished we had. The love they had for each other and the protectiveness was unparalleled; and the storyline was written to perfection to reflect it. Now Holland meets a couple other men, Max, Grady, and Quentin; and let me say that each one of them are delicious and have a place in my heart. They are each their own but all play well together. Now, the story flows effortlessly, and we get spice, angst, romance, entertainment, some laughs, and some dark suspense that just pulls everything together into a page-turner. Do I recommend this? Absolutely!! Do you need to grab it right now? Absolutely!! Now hurry on up because trust me, you will love this!

Content Warnings: sexual content, violence, blood, gore, murder, torture, sexual harassment, child abuse, death of loved one[s], sexism, physical abuse,
Mention of: attempted rape and sexual assault

***Probably missing a few warnings...but the beginning of the book had warnings in it so read that before starting the book***

Overall I really enjoyed this story...though I do with the epilogue didn't feel so rushed...I love learning about multiple romantic dynamics but I would have liked the story to feel more balanced. Either this book should have only focused on one why choose [which it mainly did] and it should have been turned into a trilogy where we had a book to explore the poly relationship as well as the other why choose...instead of rushing at the end to show/tell us how the other two dynamics were formed.

For me a 5 star read. I loved the humor and craziness or the Females

I absolutly loved this. I loved and adored the relationship between friends. I loved the guys too but wish there was more with Grady but was still Amazing. I wishing we would of saw more of them in the field of the Shadows as well too. But I really enjoyed this story of vigilantes. And whatever you called Shadows. Like mercenaries but good ones. The women where my fav tho. They were bad@ss but yet really funny. I've read this author before so I knew she'd be good. You will enjoy this standalone. What for TW and it has MM and A chapter Of FF briefly. Not to bad. It's quick and it the MFC best friend and someone else so need to worry about it.

F*ck Steal Kill, by Kris Butler, is an amazing tale of friendship, dedication and love. Throw in a side of murder, revenge and obsess|on, and Ms. Butler has another great hit on her hands. The premise of this novel is truly unique. There are so many twists and turns that your head will spin. The action is intense and the sex is out of this world. I like how that while Holland and her guys are the primary focus, other relationships do come into play. It gives the story more depth. In conclusion, F*ck Steal Kill is a fantastic standalone, and a great new addition to the wonderful world of Kris Butler's creative writing.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story

Holland and her best friends Joy and Lacey lead double lives. Working in a hotel during the day and their secret identity at the XOXO k1ller at night.

Their friendship, support and loyalty to each other is all they have, and a plan to get out of their home town.

Cue three men, Grady, Max and Quentin who are tracking the XOXO k1ller, rolling into town and catching Hollands eye.

This story was riveting and Kris Butler has done a fabulous job with it. I laughed so much in places, the girls friendship and stabbyness having me in stitches.

If you love books with female friendsips and crossing peens this is for you.

This is my first Kris Butler story and it will not be my last! I was hooked from the first chapter. The friendship between Holland, Lacey and Joy was everything. Their banter had me laughing out loud and cheering them on in their vigilante pursuit to make bad guys suffer. Then add in the guys, woah! *Hot flashes* just remembering their sexy times with Holland. I loved all the POV's. The story flowed so well and kept me reading until the late/early hours. I highly recommend this book.

I love the friendships..

Lacey, Joy, Holland are true friendship goals.. I want a best friend willing to kill with me.. my best-friend is ride or die type but will she kill for me? Lacey opened her heart in the end to three dangerous killers. Joy met a couple she fell in love with.. Holland became vulnerable with ruthless, dark spirited killers.. Quentin the possessive bad boy.. Max the boy next door sexy nerd.. Grady the bossy strict leader.. They all neede the sexy, dangerous blonde bombshell Holland.. no one suspected she change their lives for good..

Let me first say how much I loved the storyline and the characters! So original and fun, maybe even a little twisted!!
I felt like we were taken on a crazy ride, or should I say game!
Filled with action, unaliving, humor, spice and a whole lot of crazy!!
Holland is a great FMC!!
I loved the relationship she had with her girls. Full of laughter, games and true friendship.
All the guys were great in their own way and I loved each of them too.
Fantastic read!!

I was sucked in from the very first page! I love that this was about best friends but in a darker way. 3 strong FMC and I immediately added to my read list and I flew through it. Butler knows how to write in a way where her words just flow so easily and you're just pulled into the story and you can't stop turning the pages. The banter, spice, unaliving...everything I want in a book and Butler delivered beyond my expectations! I can't wait to see what else this author has in store!

Such a different book as the FMC Holland has good friends and they are BFF for sure. The friendship you know lasts forever. I love the guys even the grumpy one but after getting to know him he really grows on you. It's really when he's there and chooses he really is all in. By the way Max, can we take a moment? I love Max and really he's sweet and adorable. We all need one like him. I loved this book!
