Help! I’ve been abducted by a… demon? As if the weekend wasn’t enough of a disaster already, right on the heels of discovering how my boyfriend really feels about my best friend, I walk into our apartment—and straight into a trap.
Is it a surprise that I initially think that was meant for her, too? That when I get grabbed and pulled through a portal by a massive demon with horns, he mistook me for Sierra?
Only… he didn’t. And when he stuns me by speaking English, he explains that his name is Glaine, and he’s my fated mate.
Do I believe him? Of course not. Demon or human, after what happened with Trevor, I was ready to swear men off for good. Besides, he might be sure that I’m his, but how does he know?
And how am I supposed to get back to New York?
I’m determined not to fall for the grumpy demon, especially when my first escape attempt lands me in the dungeons, with Glaine as my cellmate. We’re chained together, even after he breaks us out of there, and all I want to do is get away from him… which would be a lot easier if he wasn’t dedicated to proving that I’m the mate for him—and he’s the guy for me.
*Grabbed by the Guard is the sixth book in the Sombra Demons series. It tells the story of Billie and Glaine, a stubborn city girl and the demon guard who wanted a mate so badly, he stole her… and is ready to do whatever it takes to keep her.
As much as I love the Sombra Demons, this story didn’t veer much from the previous ones. The main difference was that Glaine didn’t wait to be summoned but took it upon himself to look for the Grimoire du Sombra. He instead finds Billie. Recognizing that she is his mate, he snatches her and whisks her back to Sombra.
Duke Haures’ law forces Billie to be imprisoned. No humans are allowed to leave Sombra if they’re not mated so she isn’t allowed to return to New York. She shares her essence with Glaine at some point so they can communicate. Glaine joins her in the cell where they are chained together. He eventually enables them to escape and they head for his village.
They have some adventures along the way and encounter the doppelseer twins Damien and Lucian whom I don’t think have appeared in earlier books. Billie accepts Glaine’s essence but hesitates to access it as she feels it is an invasion of privacy.
They eventually make it to the village where she meets another human female and the demoness that Glaine had originally thought would be his mate. Billie settles in but still longs to return to New York and all of her responsibilities there. She’s surprised by a visit from her roommate who had become a demon’s mate. Glaine is returned to prison since he and Billie weren’t mated. She forces a mage to take her to him. HEA
I don’t think the story of Haures and Susanna has been published and I would love to read it, especially since it seems they were the first human/demon couple.

I am really enjoying this series! The male characters are so lovable and the female leads are fun too. Each book is unique and leaves me excited for the next book. I really enjoyed Glaine (demon male - not evil) and his fated mate Billie (she is a human woman). It’s a fun play on the lore of Hell and how it can be the same and also completely different from what we imagine.
If you enjoy paranormal romance, teddy bear male leads, feisty female leads, adventure, magic and fated mates you’ll love this series.
I do recommend reading the series in order for maximum enjoyment.
I adored this series when it first started but this one and the last have been duds.
This one was a DNF for me. Honestly I didn't like Sierra aka Whiskey Rose from the last book and this book is full of talk about Sierra this and Whiskey that- ugh! Billie didn't feel like she had any personality at all- it was all about Sierra. Very disappointed. Glad I didn't preorder the book like I did the last one.
So this book starts from just after from the previous book .Billie best friend of whiskey rose ( the fmc of previous book)and her manager they were in a girl band in the past , so she just had a worst day of her when she was out on a vacation with her long term boyfriend, she finds out that her bf was in love with her famous friend all along and just used her to get close to her. Just as she find out that she leaves him and drives a long way to her apartment that she and Sierra (whiskey rose)uses but there she meets Glaine, our mmc who serves duke of sombra.
He kidnaps Billie and brings her back to sombra but as they are not mated they get imprisoned by the the duke but on Billie's demand they escape from there and then they together travel to Glaine's village . Reaching the village they stay there as the duke banned them from leaving sombra but even after being with other for so long and still not being mated Glaine gets arrested by the duke as Billie only wanted sex and didn't wanted a long term commitment so soon after her privious bf. After finding it out Billie goes to the cell and mates with him there and gets him out .
I really didn't like the other man drama and I found no connection between them even though its supposed to be a fated mates trope. The fmc was so insufferable and it looked like she was not very serious till the end 😐

Billie is Sierra’s spiritual sister (from book 5). In book 5 we found out that another demon (Glaine) comes looking for Sierra’s mate but instead leaves as soon as he arrives at her apartment and takes Billie with him.
In book 6 we find out more about Glaine and how he has been waiting centuries for his mate. We also get introduced to TWIN DEMONS!!! they are seer demons and they predicted Glaine being rejected by his mate and finding her on a different world instead of Sombra.
I enjoyed this book as well. We know by now that demons don’t give up on their mates. But Glaine was willing to even let Billie go if she did not wish to be bonded to him 😭😭😭. He gave her everything she wanted and was truly ready to let her go if that’s what she desired. Human men could neverrrrrr lol.
I usually like this series but this one was a little tough to get through. 90% of the book is her denying him and constantly complaining about people obsessing over Whiskey Rose, but yet, she is constantly putting her friends needs before hers and complaining about it too. Glaine is as sweet as ever, and she pushes and pushes him away. I see the ending coming pretty quickly. He sacrifices something so she’s happy, and when she finally made the decision to stay, it was too late, and then she follows him to complete the bond. It was a little predictable. I’m excited for the Dukes story and the next book to come, and you need to read this one to understand the next one. Spice was 1🌶️.5/5 but it was worth reading to see the story expand on to into the new books
This is book six of the Sombra Demons series. This time the leader’s fiercest guard senses his mate. Glaine has waited so long that he has no further patience, so he sneaks in through the portal to grab his mate Billie. Now Billie is Sierra’s manager. So there is irony and a sweet romance for Billie and Glaine. It’s an all around sweet story with Glaine doing all the right things to woo his mate Billie. The epilogue reveals a couple of secrets. The twins, Damien and Lucien, are up for a mate in the next book. Read On!
I think I'm done with this series. The FMC was insufferable, and it was painful to get through. I don't know how she's going to make us care about the next FMC when she spent the last two books trash talking her. The only way I'll pick up this series again is if she ever does the Duke's and Susanna's book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Grabbed by the Guard is a thrilling, emotionally charged installment in the Sombra Demons series. Billie and Glaine’s story is full of tension, both emotional and physical, as they try to figure out their bond. The dynamic between the stubborn Billie and the determined Glaine is fantastic, and the adventure they go on together is full of twists and turns. The chemistry is palpable, and the slow-burn romance adds to the excitement. With plenty of action, emotion, and steamy moments, this book is a must-read for fans of monster romance!
⭐️⭐️ - writing this review way after i finished this bc i was so bored… like billie is just… so boring. she spends so much time talking about sierra/whiskey rose and constantly reminding us that she’s not jealous that her friend is everyone’s favorite but DAMN it sure felt like she was 💀
we get it girl… ooo we get it!! and then her entire romance with glaine was so lackluster. they had sex like twice? idk. i was bored. took forever to read such a short book i almost didn’t include it on here
I liked this book. I’m still continuing the series. It’s a good beginner monster romance book series with interconnected standalone books. 3⭐️, 2🌶.
I liked getting to know Glaine, after hating him in the other books. He’s actually just a grumpy demon with a soft center! I want to say that I liked Billie as well for the most part. Ofc she didn’t accept him until the last minute, but what can you do?
I think Glaine and Billie have been my favorite couple so far, but unfortunately, this book lacked some editing. Many awkward sentences confused me, and the many spelling/grammatical mistakes pulled me out of the story at times. The epilogue was intriguing and has me looking forward to the next book!
This book was just okay. There were a lot of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes/typos, and could have benefited from some additional proofreading. Spice level was fairly low, and it didn't scratch the "butterflies in the stomach" romance itch. I've liked all the other books in this series, but this one missed the mark for me.
(2.5) I feel a little disappointed by this book because for over a 60% I felt like I was going through an introduction of the book. Also, this saga is known to be an insta love saga, but I didn't feel like Glaine really loved her until the last 15% of the book and she just didn't until the end. Still, I hold deep love for these demons, so the majority of my rating was because of it.

I felt like this is starting to repeat some common themes and I would like to see more variance in the mate stories. Being chained together was new but I feel like there is also a lot of inconsistencies with Duke Haures and how he rules. Great story still with a lot of spice.
As you know, I love this series: the concept, the characters, everything. With that being said, it felt a little repetitive and Billie came across as really whiny. And Glaine was desperate - in an endearing way. It was for sure entertaining and I enjoyed how the epilogue tied some things together. Gave me a break from reality, which I desperately needed and appreciated! So entertaining!
Cute, reasonable characters, same basic experience as reading the other books in this series with a slightly new flavor. We finally get to see what happened with the bestie from the first book.
I think it spent a bit too much time in the characters heads while they mulled and repeated information to themselves, but whatever they both did that so at least it sold me on their relationship being a good match.
It's amazing how this series has gotten better and better though each book 😀. I'm so Amazed that this storyline has continued to grab our attention and not be just the same story 😄. Thanks again Sarah, I can't wait to see what happens next 🤓.
My good girl could you have made Glaine or all the readers wait so long for you to figure out what we knew all along?!?!? I am so in love with this series! I’m so glad that everyone has a hea and I always can’t wait for the next book!!!!
I've enjoyed every book in this series. It doesn't take long to read it, maybe 3 or 4 hours but it is worth the time. I put 3 stars because for me it is kind of tame and the FMC was a little annoying. I will definitely read the next book in the series.
