Sienna Mercer grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was an only child, and always wanted a brother or sister – especially a twin. A twin would have been awesome! Sadly, she never got that sister so, when she was grown up, she did the next best thing - she wrote books about a girl who reminded her of herself, and gave her the most fun, fabulous twin she could think of!

Sienna began writing stories when she was a teenager, on a very wet day in Toronto when her cheerleading practice was cancelled - and she has not stopped writing since. She used to write in red leather notebooks while sat on her bed, but now does most of her writing in her attic, which is quite dark, and has some spooky cobwebs in the corners - the perfect location for thinking about vampires. She doesn't use red notebooks anymore, either, although she keeps them in a chest by her desk in the attic.

Sienna got the idea for My Sister the Vampire from a daydream she had - what if she had a super-cool twin sister... who was a vampire? She loved the characters - and their kooky friends and family - so much that she just had to keep writing about them.

When she's not daydreaming about vampires and cheerleading, Sienna enjoys travelling and exploring new cities, and keeps a detailed scrapbook of everywhere she’s visited. She lives in Toronto, kept company by Calypso and Angel – her two gorgeous cats. She is happily writing away and we wait for her upcoming books!

Once again, this series is so cute and funny!! I love Olivia and Ivy together. They're such a good pair and super understanding. I love that they would switch places with each other to spend time with the other's family. It just makes my heart flutter.

I loved all of the silly/good plans they thought of to try to keep Charles to stay in Franklin Grove. The performing art one really made me laugh. I feel like each of the plans were increasingly imaginative. Gosh I just love this series <3

VAMPALICIOUS! continues where RE-VAMPED! left off. Ivy and Olivia have solidified a bond between them, which only twin sisters can share. It doesn't matter that neither knew the other existed, or that one is human and the other is a vampire. They have just found each other this school year and will do everything they can to stay together.

Now that Mr. Vega has decided to move to Europe for his new job, Ivy and Olivia and their assortment of friends band together to create a way to keep Ivy and her father in Franklin Grove. They brainstorm and decide to do a power point presentation on the pros of Franklin Grove and the cons of Europe. Throwing in World War pictures and information on the Bubonic Plague, they can't fail with their presentation. But Mr. Vega isn't swayed, though he does compliment them on the presentation of the information.

The gang returns to the drawing board, and decides if he were to fall in love in Franklin Grove, there's no way he'd want to be separated from his true love. Ivy, Olivia, and Mr. Vega are at a local restaurant and their waitress, Alice, strikes up a conversation with them. The two girls are positive that there are sparks between the adults and invite Alice, unknowingly, over to Ivy's house for a romantic dinner.

Mr. Vega quickly catches on to the plot during dinner, and informs the girl that the dinner conversation was interesting, but the date was a disaster. So the girls are at a loss for how to keep Ivy and her father in Franklin Grove. Finally admitting defeat, they decide to just enjoy their final days together and plan a surprise going-away party for Mr. Vega.

In the end though, it may be that an option they never thought possible will be the only solution to keeping Mr. Vega from wanting to run away to Europe.

This is yet another cute addition to the MY SISTER THE VAMPIRE series. It is a quick read and fun to watch Ivy and Olivia hatch one crazy scheme after another. The continuation of the series doesn't disappoint!

4/5 stars.

It's a very quick and fun read. :) This series is suitable mostly for children and kids in their early teens but I think anyone of any age group can enjoy it as well. :)

Wow. Sienna Mercer really deserves a medal or something for this book! It's so feel-good that I was grinning through the entire thing - apart from in the bit where we read a some entries from Charles old diary, that bit was really moving! (not that I teared up or anything, not at a kid's book . . . or maybe just a little)
Even though this series is aimed at kids to pre-teens, the way it's written is so mature (yet still entertaining and fun) and I don't think I'm ever going to grow out of it! The whole storyline was great and the way the twins worked together was so lovely to read. :D This book is not long, but it seems like a ton of things happened! I'll save you the rambling - everything was brilliant and I wouldn't change a thing!
I really wish you could see my copy of the book, as it's completely scruffy and almost every page has been dog-eared at some point. This is because I've read it about a million times, but it's no less entertaining than the very first time I read it. I'm already looking forward to re-reading this story! (AGAIN) This is an amazingly awesome book. :D

This book is when and ivy FINALLY confront their dad about him being their dad and them knowing. They find out that he is moving because of Olivia. He thinks that if Olivia stays with them Olivia will want to have children with a vampire and die during childbirth. So they have to prove to him that it was just a human thing that happened when normal kids are born the mother will die.Great ending. I liked how they always have the opposite to human things like...

Santa= the Holiday Bat
Food mart= Blood mart
Candy canes= Bloody Canes
Bed= Coffin (Not as lame as it sounds)
Beef patty= Raw Beef Patty

Its really smart and funny.

Two 13 year old girls bump into each other at school. Ivy is Goth and has lived in Franklin Grove most of her life, Olivia is sunny and has just moved into town. When these two girls meet they soon discover under the Goth dark looks of Ivy and the peppy pink cheerleader looks of Olivia that they are identical twins. Identical except that Ivy is a Vampire and Olivia is a human. Both girls have known they are adopted, but neither knew that they had a twin out there somewhere.

This is the fourth book in the series and takes place after the third book where the girls discover that the man Ivy thought was her adopted father is actually Olivia and Ivy’s biological father. Ivy’s dad doesn’t know that the girls have uncovered the truth, and he is determined to move to Europe for a new job and to separate the sisters once again. Ivy and Olivia don’t know why he wants the move so bad, but they are determined to stop him. This book is a series of plans, most of which are humorously disastrous, concocted to keep Ivy and her dad in Franklin Grove.

Written to be read by 8-12 year olds, this is a short and sweet age appropriate read and I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It had the potential to be a little hokey and too cutesy and I was hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Instead it delivered a FANGtastic (grins) afternoon read that left me smiling and glad I decided to turn the pages. I started this series at the end and I have already ordered books 1-3, I really adored Olivia and Ivy.

The author pens a story reminiscent of The Parent Trap and that really worked for me. There are some stereotypical Vampire behaviors like coffin sleeping and blood drinking, and some unexpected Vampire lore like the Holiday Bat that takes the place of the human Santa Clause. Creative and clever this short story is really not that much about Vampire’s and more about the relationship between the two sisters. They are uniquely their own person, yet they have a deep and unbreakable bond after such a short time of knowing each other.

I would highly recommend this book to parents who are struggling to find both exciting and appropriate reading material for their young daughters. These two heroines are lovely. Olivia and Ivy aren’t sassy or bratty, they are well behaved and respectful, yet still manage to be funny, fun, cool and popular. Imagine that.

Kirjassa vilahti muuten varsin vetävä kirjastonhoitajatar, vampyyri, tietysti. Ennustan yhteistä tulevaisuutta herra Vegan kanssa... Saadaanpa nähdä.
