Stella Magi rally is a busy girl both in her personal life and professional life and then to top it off she’s rather social and I just couldn’t keep up 🤪 at a stage I thought she gave up one addiction ( alcohol) for another(men) but hey I’m not judging …..


Now her 3 men are Glazier , the orthopaedic surgeon and he’s more the friends with benefits and their arrangement seems to work for them .

Doyle , our delectable red headed and freckled Mcsteamy and I’m sure he could charm the petticoat off a nun 😂

Alex , the one legged neuro , I liked him the most he seemed genuine and a real gentleman ❣️


So between them all they’re brilliant at what they do in all aspects , I mean hello hot and steamy , need I say more !? Now while our Stella was honest and upfront I was a little annoyed with her and what went down with her and Alex but again who am I to play judge Judy !?


Stella has a gift but who does it come from !?!? Who does it belong to ? Before I spend to much time pondering … I find myself rereading a few paragraphs here from around 73% just in case I miss something …. DRAMA👍

This author is amazing in every which way. They created a story that gave that true wow factor, and gave that passion and spice you long for. And quite frankly, most of us only dream about. I was amazed and on the edge of my seat as I read. I could not get enough, constantly wanted more!

I loved Dr. Stella Magi! She was exceptional in every which way. She had spunk passion, and had not one, but 3 men she was sleeping with! She made the balance with all 3 work so well. She is a good hearted doctor, who enjoys fun. After some time she realizes she wants something serious. Which man would be best suited for her? Something unexpected does come up which could really impact her decision and where tings are to go from there! I was on the edge of my seat, making my kindle swear with various scenes through out my reading. That ending, holy cow! I need to know what is going to happen, I know I have to find out what happens next! And I certainly can not wait! Amazing book!

If your looking for a book, that will touch every good feeling part on your body as well as give that spice you long for, then read this book! It is a must read for so many reasons. And certainly not one to be passed up. And for sure its a high recommendation from me as well as this author!

This book is as intelligent as it is sexy! Dr. Stella Magi is a fantastic leading character who is bold, honest, and claims her narrative. She is a strong woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. The action grips you right away with a variety of supporting characters and medical knowledge that deepen your connection to the MetroGen world. The doctors in the love triangle that centers this story are unique, well penned, and nearly impossible to choose between! Unchecked is a book you just want to keep reading!
I personally loved the way Carina Alyce tied in an exciting story line with lots of steamy sex scenes. You get just enough specificity around medical procedures and relationships to know she has an in depth understanding of the way hospitals work, yet it is presented in a way that anyone could follow along and enjoy. With a surprise at the end that makes you want even more; I will definitely be seeking out other books by this author!

Unchecked: A Steamy Love Triangle Medical Romance (MetroGen Kiss and Tell #1) by Carina Alyce

This isn't the first book I've read by the author. Another fantastic book and it's another MetroGen book. This is the first book in the MetroGen Kiss and Tell Series. It does end on a major cliffhanger.

Stella is a doctor at MetroGen. Sober and trying to stay that way. She can't seem to stay away from sex. Three guys and she ends up pregnant. The quote I chose for Stella is: “See, I go for more of the fake-gentle approach of psychological flaying. Ask them uncomfortable questions in the middle of a high focus procedure.”

There were three men and I really couldn't find any quotes that stood out for me. You'll have to read to find out who they are and how they fit in with Stella and her crazy life.

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

All I can say is wow, what a great 5 star read. I was pulled right in and didn’t want to put it down. Dr. Stella Magi, oh my. She is a very busy Dr. in many ways, she has friends with benefits with three hot docs and loves it. That is until she starts to feel like she wants more. Will one of the hot Dr’s be willing to offer her more? There is a twist that makes things even more interesting.

Overall this was a very hot and steamy read. All of the characters were great. I will warn there is a heck of a cliff hanger that has me chomping at the bit for the next book. I need to see the next book now. If you like steamy reads then I suggest you 1-click and get started today on this one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I love and hate Stella. My feelings went back and forth a couple of times throughout this short and steamy read, sometimes Stella annoyed me so much and other times I found myself on her side. At her age, being single and an adult I don’t see any problem with having fun, but it seemed like she just didn’t care. When she finally feels like she might settle down with one man it gets blown up. My heart broke for him and I was so mad at her for how she handled everything. In the end it seems like Doyle and Glazier are only willing to be with her out of obligation and Alex seems to really be in love with her. I need to know what happens with this mess!!! I can’t wait for the next book!

This book almost had me screaming! Holy heck of a cliffhanger! I DEFINITELY have to read this sequel now! I have read Wildcat by this author before, and apparently this is a different series from that one, but with recurring characters kind of, so now I'm desperately wanting to go back and read that series. I thought this was a continuation of Wildcat (I apparently did not pay much attention at the end of that one) and alas, it is not. I did not quite enjoy this one as much as the previous book I've read from this author, it seemed harder for me to get into, but I really liked it more towards the end. It is steamy and definitely an 18+ novel. This was also a really quick read, so I enjoyed that as well. I can't wait for the next installment of this one!

Yall, if you haven’t checked out this author you really should! Especially if you are a lover of all things Grey’s Anatomy and ER type shows like I am myself. I love medical dramas and these books take all the things I love about those and the tropes I love in my book world and mixes them together to make the best reads that take me away and I love every single minute of it. When I open one I know I am going to be pretty much unavailable until I find out how that book finishes so I am grateful they are not huge novels that I can consume fairly fast for myself. This one was so fun because it brought the lovers triangle to the forefront and did a wonderful job of it as well. I was consumed with Stella’s story and her journey to find that love and the right fit for her. I won’t be divulging any deets for that you will have to read yourself but I can promise it will be a steamy one you won’t want to put down! I can't wait to see what we will get next!

Wow!! What a read this was! I 100% loved this book from beginning to end. I was completely hooked on Dr Stella’s story! The passion and heat just flowed from these pages as I was reading and it was tastefully written too, enough to get over the point that there is some serious lust between these characters but not too over the top that it’s not believable. I wasn’t actually sure I was going to like Stella after reading the synopsis but I did, there was more to her than just sleeping with some extremely hot men! In the synopsis the author does warn of a cliff-hanger and she wasn’t wrong! I cannot wait for the next book to come out!!
I really do highly recommend this book, it was a fantastic read and I loved it!

No lie chapter one started off slow. I always try to read the synopsis before I read the book to make sure it's something I'm interested in. The synopsis had me hooked so I kept reading the book despite the slow start. I'm sure glad I did! You know how they say "Never judge a book by it's cover!"? Well you shouldn't judge a book by the 1st few pages either. This story actually took several twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. It was very well written. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. I will be keeping my eyes open for book #2 because the cliffhanger has me shook! I need to know what happens.

Omg what a story. I read this book in one sitting. The author does an amazing job with the fast paced story and I loved the characters. The Cliff hanger at the end has be dying to read the next book to find out what happens. I really can't wait for it.

In this book we read about Stella. She works at the hospital. She's a fun loving gal with a live in the moment attitude towards life. This way of living leads her to have a couple of friends with benefits. Glazier, and Marcus were her fun friends nothing more and all parties were happy with that.
Stella was too until she meets Alex and finally sees a chance at a future with someone she cares about. However her past relationships come back to bite her in the butt and a shock discover.

Stella is living it up! This book absolutely sizzles! Stella is a surgeon at MetroGen and she lives life to the fullest. It's so nice to see a woman being portrayed as in touch with her sexual needs and not afraid to have a little fun. Too often it's only men that are portrayed that way. She has a whole lot of fun with three different men and there is a major plot twist along the way. I did not see the ending coming, my jaw literally dropped because it's such a cliffhanger. I love how unique this story and the ending are and I cannot wait to read the next books in this series.

I love everything this author writes! I have yet to find a story I can't fall in love with
Dr. Magi lives her life at full blast. Whether its work or men she never does anything at a half measure. This book takes us through her life and the decisions made on hospital floor as well as the bedroom. This story reflects Stella has a woman who works hard and plays hard. Its romantic, dramatic, and speaks to the woman in all of us. I loved this story and I am eager for what's next.

Stella loves sex. She has her choice of three very adept men. All three are doctors and so is she. But when Stella finds herself in a predicament, what will the outcome be? This book is full of sexual encounters but well written and not fully graphic. You find yourself rooting for at least one of the guys. Wishing she would end up with him and then wondering. This book ends on a HUGE cliffhanger which the author does warn about in the blurb of the book. But stick around I am sure book two will not disappoint.

This story is full of so many twists and turns that I simply couldn’t put it down, in certain areas you never know what our author is going to throw at you. From hospital drama, drama, steam, and cliffhangers you’ll never see what’s coming next. But that’s not all this author has such a unique way of writing that they not only give us several wow factors but they also give us an incredible level of spice. But when Stella decides she wants to settle down will she be able to figure out who is best for her? You’ll have to read this fabulous book to figure out for yourself.

A brain tumor isn’t the only reason people make horrible decisions. If anyone knew that, it would be Dr. Stella Magi.

Every morning, she looked in the mirror and said to herself, “Today is going to be a great day. No day but today. One day at a time. No moment but this one.”

Yeah, that was like four different affirmations at the same time. A solid combo of positive thinking, a dash of Rent, and several shots of Alcoholics Anonymous.

And today, she would need every bit of help.

Stella fluffed her dark brown hair in the mirror and put the final touches on her makeup. Her picture was going to be taken a million times, so she needed to look even better than her usual slightly messy surgeon self.

At least her hair was glorious. She couldn’t get rid of the puffiness under her cheeks and chin, but it didn’t make her any less of a dentist/ENT surgeon/all around kick-ass staying sober lady doctor.

Her cell phone sitting on the sink’s counter rang. There was only one person she expected to call.

“You aren’t chickening out, are you?” her next-door neighbor and second cousin by marriage, Dr. Elizabeth Kandal, asked.

“Me, chicken out? I don’t chicken out. I’m gonna haul my slutty self down the stairs and give them enough to talk about.” Stella wouldn’t hide anything. Hiding didn’t help; it only made things worse.

She would know. She’d completed a six-year combined MD-DDS program and a seven-year ENT residency while being a full-blown alcoholic. It took a fresh start at MetroGen Hospital and finding a circle of solid friends to keep her on the sober side.

Saying ‘straight and narrow’ would have been an exaggeration.

“This is going to be epic. Memorable. Everyone you know is coming, and I think they’re taking bets,” Eliza said sardonically. “Do you think gossip mixes best with champagne, Bloody Marys, or Moscato?”

“Spike the mystery punch with Everclear. Steal the Jungle Juice recipe from Throckies’ Halloween party,” Stella suggested the almost industrial grade barely legal alcohol. Never do anything in half measures.

“Will we have any gentleman callers?” Eliza asked carefully, trying to gauge Stella’s mood.

“Nope, not a one. Should keep the bet spread even,” Stella said, cutting to the chase. No reason not to take a scalpel to the problem.

She had perfect hands and great instincts in the OR. How could she have miscalculated so badly?

“Remember, you are the guest of honor, so don’t be late. Don’t show up hungover or shit-faced drunk either.”

“You’re very funny. See you soon.” Stella hung up the phone. She picked up her hair pick and re-brushed her locks for the third time.

There was no reason for her to bother. Whatever she did, it looked the same. With her precision skills, as far as Stella was concerned, there was no such thing as a bad hair day. If she used the right amount of focus, she could overcome anything.

Except alcoholism and terrible decision making.

Fortunately, den mother Eliza Kandal, her sister Kayla Varma, and their friend Angela Perkins had stood behind Stella as she took a hammer to everything around her. Elizabeth had a tendency to take in strays that accumulated at MetroGen hospital, whether it be wayward cousins by marriage, half-sisters, or random cardiologists-in-training. She was eternally trying to fix things, especially after her husband Scott had died.

Still, she was hard pressed to fix things for Stella.

Sometimes breaking things is in one’s nature.

Stella carefully spread a layer of eye shadow and used her perfectly steady hands to apply mascara. She hadn’t gone too loud, but no amount of makeup could cover the puffy face.

Things would be different soon enough.

If she had to do it all again, she’d probably do it exactly the same way.

Stella adjusted her dress and checked herself in the mirror one more time. Yep, still 40-weeks pregnant, and it was time for her baby shower.

I am sure I am not the only one that wants to know how the author really came up with this crazy story, and certainly not the only one glad that she did! This was the first book that I have picked up by this author, and I very much enjoyed the fast pace of this adventure. Back in college, I did have a friend that lived her life very similar to the way that Stella lives hers, so I did have fun being transported back to the good ole days through her character. It really did feel like we were in an alternate version of Grey’s, or some such show, with the way this author really brings the reader into Metro Gen216.

I do wish there was a bit more of a backstory on Stella, I know that there was some, but the book was so quick to jump into the here and now moments that it made it a little difficult to completely relate or feel for her character as a whole. A large part of me really wishes it was a graphic novel, so we could see how hot these colleagues of hers really are, though I did immensely enjoy picturing Marcus, if we’re honest, we all need a little luck of the Irish! I recommend this quick, fast paced read, to anyone looking to get all down and dirty with their books. P.S. Pulling my hair out with the cliffhanger, and you will be too.

A fairly quick read. Warning, this one ends in a cliffy, but it’s worth the journey.

I enjoyed the overall storyline, and to see Stella’s growth, from alcoholic , to renowned doctor (who loves a little loving on the side) who has a penchant for making bad decisions, to someone who’s willing to put in the time and effort into a serious relationship. I feel like there could have been less drama had people just talked to one another, but where’s the fun in that in a novel, right?

This one sort of threw me because the title description is misleading, this is not a love triangle, but rather Stella has three potential suitors. All Doctors. While the author touches on the hospital’s fraternization policy, I’d hate to be in their HR department because it seems like people are hooking up with colleagues left and right.

I enjoyed that each of the potential partners got a decent chunk of the book and that for the most part the friendship and work relationship prevailed over everything else.

As the author states in the description, this isn’t your average romance. It will have you hating the characters at times, rooting for them in others, and all around pulling your hair out trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. It’s kind of like a telenovela re Jane the Virgin. Enjoy!

Stella Magi is not a person who is known for her relaxing nature, her life is always at one hundred miles an hour. So, from her youth of drinking and partying she is now sober and in control of her career as a surgeon, but her love life is and will always be a train wreck.

She is living life to the full of three men on the go and managing to enjoy all the perks there is to offer but when something happens, and she then revaluates her life she wants more than friends with benefits relationship. Can she decide if one of the three is that man or does she need to look out for something else.

This story is full of chemistry and passion which seeps out of every character. Dr Stella Magi’s character is full of sass and determination, and I loved reading her story. The story was full of twists and turns and in the end some surprises. I enjoyed exploring the world of Stella and loved the interactions between all the characters within the book. The story was well written and the characters brilliantly crafted.

This is my first book I have read by this author, and I can’t wait to read more in the future.

This is the first book in a steamy new contemporary romance series. I have read this author’s work before and was hoping I’d enjoy this book as much as I had enjoyed the previous one. Thankfully I did.
At only 176 pages, I devoured this book in a few hours. It’s a hot and steamy romp from start to finish. I’m surprised patients get better in this hospital as the doctors, nurses, surgeon etc are too busy having sex with one another.
I absolutely loved Stella as a character. She’s a recovering alcoholic and has a total IDGAF attitude to life. She’s pretty awesome.
I totally forgot when reading this book that it ends on a cliffhanger and I wanted to throw my kindle out the window when I got to the end and realised that the BIG question had not been answered!!!! How could the author be so cruel? Thankfully, I really enjoyed this book and would want to read more from this series anyway as now I’ll have to as I need to know the answer. I have my own preference for who I want the answer to be but others may have a different view from me.
I hope I don’t have to wait long to get the next instalment in this series.

Unchecked is the first book in the MetroGen Downtown Kiss and Tell series by Carina Alyce. This is a very steamy contemporary romance- think Grey’s anatomy on Viagra. This story definitely steamed up the screen on my Kindle with all the sexy details- then left me hanging on the edge of a mighty cliffhanger that comes with a bit of a twist.
Dr. Stella Magi might be a highly educated surgeon, but hat hasn’t prevented her from making more than a few bad decisions when it came to romance. So when she finds herself juggling three guys, as well as her medical career- things get….. interesting.
This is a short, quick, and easy read (under 200 pages). So, I zipped through the story in my lunch break. I would have loved to read a longer version of this story, with even more details to sink my teeth into.
Looking forward to finding out what happens when we get the answer to the cliffhanger.

Stella!! The self-awareness and strength that she possesses is amazing. This is a short, steamy tale of how Stella is finally taking control over her own life. After years of addiction, Stella is sober but still craves that feeling she used to get with alcohol. Stella has rededicated herself to her job as a doctor and finds time to partake in some stimulating parts of life. As Stella finds the guy she is willing to commit to, his own insecurities and her bad habits destroy what they had. There is so much riding on decisions Stella has to make regarding her future.

The author writes strong, smart, resilient women that rule their place in male-dominated worlds! Stella is just another example of that. She owns who she is and her decisions. She rocks and so does this book. Can’t wait for the next one!!

I enjoyed this romance story. This is a new author for me which I enjoyed from beginning to end. This is a well written story about Stella and how she has her picks of bachelors. She is a successful surgeon that has cravings. I enjoyed her character and she is my favorite of the story. She is strong and made the story for me. She brings romance to a new level with her cravings and how she finds herself having to choose from three hot bachelors. I enjoyed how the growth of the characters and plot made the story easy to read. The author’s attention to details made the story and characters realistic. This is a fast paced, engaging story that is fun and entertaining to read. This is a great story that I highly recommend.
