This is the final book in the Symphony Of Sound duet. It follows on from the first book which left on a cliffhanger. I will say I did like Piper, Willows's sister and Jesse better in this book. Jesse wasn't such a grump and angry all the time. The effort this man went to grovel was needed. I found the hockey aspect in the first book lacking but I enjoyed we got more in this one. I love how Willow went out of her comfort zone out of the small town to prove she can find herself again, trying to unlock her memories and battling her heart with her connection to Jesse. Overall this is good, it's very character-driven. I enjoyed for the most part just wasn't shocked when we had a few plot twists. It deals with heavy topics and themes that is an emotional rollercoaster. If you want more of a deep emotional angsty romance this is it.

Wow!!! I don’t think I’ll ever stop thinking about this story. It was so amazing, I couldn’t put down.
This picks up right where The Sound of Silence leaves off. Willow is starting to piece together some things and realizes that Jesse played a part in the event that changed her life. Again I won’t say much as I don’t want to give anything away.
This conclusion to Willow and Jesse’s story!!! WOW! This story was emotional and heartbreaking. The suspense in this one was unreal, I wasn’t sure where this one would go. It definitely kept me guessing. I loved seeing how much growth Willow had in this book. Loved watching her fight her own battle and come out on top. And Jesse!!! Ugh where do I even start! I mean he had passion, restraint, and understanding when it came to Willow. He put in work to be the man that Willow deserved and I love him for it!
This book was absolute PERFECTION! 🤌🏼 It was captivating the entire story and kept me in a complete chokehold.
Overall: 5 Spice: 2

Willow and Jesse hold a special place in my heart🫶🏼 From the first lines of their story, I felt admiration, and thought about them 24/7🫣 The first book ended very unexpectedly for me and I was counting the days until the release of the next book🥹 And now I finished their story💔 They will definitely remain the heroes that I will not forget and will remember their story. Until then, I will not reread it🤭 Their story was very emotional and I couldn't tear myself away. I didn't want to leave the book even when I had to leave😩 I am fascinated by the characters and their growth in the book, both for themselves and for each other😻 Thank u so much Katherine & Sara for sending me an ARC’s for this incredible book🫶🏼
this was so special. i absolutely love willow & jesse’s story! i was hooked from the first book & all throughout this.
i will admit the miscommunication in the begging of this one had me frustrated but i knew it all came from a good place in jesse’s heart & i couldn’t help but love him even more for it. he was literally perfect lol. their struggles only made them stronger & it was amazing to be able feel it through these pages. & the twist at the end was a shock!
i love this duet so much. i’ll for sure read it again in the future 🥹
We finally get the wrap-up to Jesse and Willow with this second book, and who knew we could love Jesse Hastings more than we already did? In my eyes, Jesse can do no wrong - EVER. He is one of my top book boyfriends. I imagine a really hot man who smells REALLY good and all he wants to do is love Willow. The things he went through, the things he saw - he's so lovely knowing what he's experienced growing up.
Alright, now that I've put my feelings for Jesse aside - I'm a bit conflicted with this second book. It took me longer to finish this book than I expected, and it may be because of the pacing. The push and pull between Jesse and Willow towards the beginning made me feel like I could not get this book to progress forward. And although we learn about what happens on the mountain, I don't feel like I have full closure. I'm glad that Willow doesn't recover her memories because even though I would have liked her to, I also enjoy that the the Author does not give us what we would normally expect and that adds another element. So, is this why I don't have closure? I'm not sure if I wanted the cliche of an ending with this or not. Again, I'm conflicted.
I do love that we learn about Robin Hood, that there's mention of the door bells (based on my last review), and the ice skating scene - definitely my favorite of this whole book. I also enjoy the scenes of Jesse getting really emotional because he's such a guarded man in The Sound of Silence, and to see him so vulnerable is heart-breaking. With all of that, I can't place why I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first one. We get our HEA, and Jesse is definitely in a more happy place, but I'm really conflicted with how I feel, and it makes me uncomfortable because I feel like there's something missing.
I was provided an ARC for an honest review.

"The Sound of Forever" serves as the enthralling conclusion to Jesse and Willow's duet, and what an intimate and thrilling ride it was! Book two grants readers a deeper look into Jesse's mind, offering insights that left me feeling more connected and invested in their relationship right from the first few chapters.
Picking up seamlessly from where book one left off, this installment promises even more suspense, a tapestry of puzzle pieces waiting to be pieced together, and an abundance of spice and romance that had me blushing at times. Jesse's multifaceted personality—romantic, growly, and everything in between—had me utterly captivated. I found myself adoring every facet of his character just as Willow did. And speaking our our FMC... Witnessing Willow step out into the world and embrace experiences she never imagined was a delight. Her spirited nature, coupled with her fierce determination, made her a true spitfire, and every moment with her was an absolute joy to read.
Although I'm sad to end their story, I'm immensely grateful for the opportunity to dive into their world early. This duet provided a rollercoaster of emotions, a perfect blend of suspense, and a romance that left its mark. Jesse and Willow's journey may have concluded, but the memories of their adventure will linger on in my mind for sure!
The Sound of Forever is book two of a duet by Katherine Jay.
I have been waiting to read this since book one was out and OMG THIS BOOK!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!

My Thoughts
OMG THIS BOOK WAS PERFECTION!!!!!!
It was such a heart breaking read and I was crying so much!!! The way Willow pushed Jesse away broke my heart but I totally understood both sides. She needed to find answers to what happened the day she lost her best friend.
All the surprises finding out what happened on that mountain had my jaw on the floor!!
I just love Willow and Jesse so much! They both had open wounds but they were able to heal themselves together.
The moments in New York and San Francisco were my FAVOURITE!! AND SOOO ROMANTIC!!
What a great way to start off my reading challenge for 2024!!! I’m sad the duet is over but so excited for whatever is next from Katherine
Thank you to Katherine for kindly sending me this arc to read and review. This review is my own honest opinion on the book.
I swear this was my reactions in emoji: 🥺😳🫣😭💔🤯🕵️♀️🥹❤️🩹😏🫠🥰
I love it. More than words can express. I sobbed and giggled and swooned and wanted to jump in the book so bad just to give everyone hugs.
Somehow I loved Jesse so much more (didn’t even know that was possible) than I did in the first book. The fact that he NEVER backtracks on his word to fight for her from book one has me hoping that everyone finds their own Jesse. Willow’s character development is so beautiful!! Sure she slowly comes out her shell in TSOS but this… this wasn’t just beautiful, it for sure gave me hope. She’s quite a relatable character and the way she really comes into her own by the end is so inspiring. I just… I’m sad their story is over :(
The way Katherine writes sucks you in til the world around you fades and all you can see is the art she places in front of you. It’s an experience like none other and I’ll thank my lucky stars forever knowing that I found her. I’m beyond grateful to have received a copy of this and am leaving this honest review voluntarily ♡
I’m so sad that Willow and Jesse’s story is done. This romantic suspense duet was done so well. I loved Katherine’s writing style with this. I can easily say this is my top read by her now! 🖤
We follow Willow & Jesse who both have a different idea of when they first met… Jesse met Willow years ago in high school but for Willow, this is her first time meeting him, seeing as she lost all her memories that night he saw her on the mountain.
In book two we get to see Willow grow into a stronger version of herself, we also get to see her make Jesse grovel extra hard & he did it so well.
The suspense in this last all the way to the end of the second book & it was a nail biting last 10%. I did not see the end twist coming.
This was an emotional read about two peoples dark past coming into their future & pushing them apart. This wasn’t an easy ride to the HEA but in the end it was so worth it.
Thank you Katherine for giving my the opportunity to dive into their story 🤍
What a conclusion! Willow is starting to remember what happened on that fateful day and Jesse is her key to finding out the truth, but Jesse doesn’t want her to know he is protecting her but he is also protecting himself. We have so many unanswered questions from the first book which are thankfully answered but there are also some more twists and turns which I didn’t see coming. Katherine is great at keeping that suspense and angst high making you want to both read on and also throw your kindle becomes you just need to know!!!
The epilogues are beautiful and I love love love the fact that Katherine is able to intertwine her heartstrings series into this new duet.
Congratulations on another amazing book I can not wait to see what you come up with next!
I am beyond grateful that Katherine didnt make us wait forever for the second half of her Symphony of Sound duet - The Sound of Forever. If youve read book 1 then youll know it ends on a cliffhanger and I needed to know everything as soon as I closed the cover.
Katherine answers any & all of your questions in this. Throwing our hearts into a blender in the process. She is a queen for angst! I fell hard for Jesse in the first book, he was another perfect example of how amazing Katherine is at writing broken boys with a whole world of love to give. How he fought for his Buttercup in this, yet tried his hardest to give her the space she needed. The depth to these characters and their story, the growth throughout the 2 books. The emotions & fight you felt from them both.. Exceptional.
I dont want to give spoilers but if you like having your heart wrecked (and then fixed again).. dont we all, Small town, Hockey, He falls first & harder and ‘shes mine’ then this is what youre looking for!
This duet seriously had me feeling allthethings, & Katherine Jay reminded me why romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres. This book truly puts you through ALL the emotions!!
I loved being able to follow Willow & Jesse on their journey through not one but two books. One book definitely wouldn’t have been enough, so I’m glad that Katherine made this into a duet!
READ IF YOU LIKE: -romantic suspense -hockey player MMC -small town -angst
What a conclusion! All the questions I had got answered and of course a few twists chucked in for good measure. I will say Willow really frustrated me at times and I wanted to shake some sense into her. But Jesse, he was always there even if she didn't know it! A perfect ending for these two. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I liked this book, it’s different it felt more like a mystery/ thriller romance book with suspense. I like how the ending was realistic and didn’t conclude with her getting her memory back as there always a chance of never being able to remember.

Book one left me on edge . Book two my god I didn’t see any of that happening. I loved the suspense and the heartbreak it gave me. I completely recommend this series for sure
I was so excited to get the conclusion to the cliff hanger we were left with in book one. Also very thankful that Katherine didn’t make us wait too long to get it 😂🙌🏼
Overall, I loved Jesse & Willow’s story! I thought it was different but beautiful & really emotional as well. If you love:

“If you want me to forget you, I need more time. I need forever.”
Immediate thoughts: My heart broke, before it was finally put back together. I was completely blown away with how it all fit together - it was beautiful, heartbreaking, raw, angsty and emotional!
Tropes: Small town (meets big city), romantic suspense, forbidden, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, second chance, ANGST, secrets, hockey, amnesia, slowburn, he falls first and harder, strong FMC.
ARC review: An emotional, heartbreaking and angsty story with so much character growth, suspenseful twists, and a beautiful and raw journey towards their HEA. I had a lot of unanswered questioned after the first book and while reading this I only got more, but all the questions got answered along the way and I am completely blown away by the beauty of this story. It was very layered and complex, but all the answers were portrayed in such a good way and the whole story evolve unexpectedly but so well. All in all, it gave an amazing story.
My mind may not remember him, but my heart always did.
This book picked up right where ‘The sound of silence’ left off, and I was very anxious while reading to see just what would happen and how it would all fit together. The road towards their HEA was not easy, but I am so happy with the ending, that it was worth all the hurt and angst throughout.
“No matter what you do from here on out, you’ll always remain my hero. Your strength, your courage, your heart. You are everything I never knew I needed but the one person I always missed.”
Both Jesse and Willow are broken and haunted by their past, but their connection is undeniable - they were soulmates and had that deep-seated forever kind of love. Jesse was such a good guy, but he came from a troubled past and had his demons to fight. I love how he cared so deeply for Willow and had a lot of patience and understanding and worked so hard to be better; to be the man Willow deserved (and who he was at his core). Willow was so incredibly strong, and I LOVED seeing her fighting and finally shredding the mask she has worn for so long. Both Jesse and Willow had their work cut out for them, but it was so beautiful seeing how they healed both individually and together and finally found their way back to each other.
“Fuck, Willow. Why is this so different? Why is everything with you so different? So amazing, so perfect.” “Because we fit, because this is meant to be. And I know we’ll get through anything.”
This was raw and a roller coaster of emotions. The writing is fantastic and pulled me in immediately. The mix of suspense, angst, spice and so much love was very well balanced, and my heart broke before Katherine expertly put it back together again. This story will be with me for a very long time and Jesse and Willow own my heart completely!
A list of the main potential triggers can be found on Katherine's website http://www.katherinejayauthor.com This duet involves situations that cause grief, PTSD, and injury
I had trouble collecting my thoughts to write a review for the first book, and now doing that for this one seems impossible! I thought Jesse and Willow couldn’t consume me more, but boy was I wrong! Willow wanted answers, wanted to be in control of her own life. And poor Jesse, had his heart broken over and over again watching Willow struggle. He just wanted her to be okay. It didn’t matter what he felt, he put Willow first. Took as much pain as he could just so she wasn’t struggling alone. The two of them having an undeniable bond ripped my heart apart over and over again. The more they hurt, the more I hurt. I thought after reading the first book, I was a pro at bracing for impact. WRONG! But gosh was it worth it! I’d take the pain a million times over to experience their beautiful love. I was emotionally hanging on by a thread, and then the title of the book was used and I was a blabbing lost cause. And when Jesse staked his claim? His devotion and love for Willow was already doing a number on me, but that? I’m a goner.

The Sound of Forever Book 2 of Symphony of Sound Duet *must read in order*
I don’t know if these words will be enough to explain how much this book means to me. The dedication should’ve been warning enough, but it still didn’t stop the ugly tears from coming. This book starts right off from the cliffhanger of TSOS. The gut wrenching angst of Willow and Jesse’s journey to their truths is not easy. The earth shattering moment pieces are revealed had me crumbling and unsure how I would survive. Jesse has held a burden to protect Willow through all these years, but the truths and secrets coming forward set them free, allowing them to move forward in life. While Jesse fights for Willow and her healing, she pieces him together as well, healing his soul. Willow is beyond resilient, strong, and takes a stand to find herself, choose herself. And Jesse learns how strong he is, and that hockey isn’t his whole life anymore and there’s room for love and to be loved.
With a few extra twists and turns, this story kept me on the edge of my seat, in a complete chokehold through to the end. I’m sad to have finished, but couldn’t be happier that Katherine writes such amazing stories that make me feel right in the midst of it all with these characters.
Jesse and Willow were left broken by their pasts.. but they’re each other’s missing piece and together, they will survive anything. 🖤
“‘Listen to me.. Focus on my voice.. What do you hear?’ ~ ‘I hear you.. It’s the sound of forever.’”
“My mind may not remember him, but my heart always did.”
This duet has undeniably claimed its spot as one of my favorite reads of the year. 📖❤️
"The Sound of Forever" seamlessly picks up where the first book left off. The transition is flawlessly executed, setting the stage for an emotionally charged journey.
The narrative unfolds as a captivating blend of romance and suspense, delving even deeper into the intricate minds of the characters introduced in the first installment. The suspense is masterfully crafted, leaving me genuinely shocked and blindsided by the revelations presented in the book. 🎢💔
Jesse and Willow's authenticity is a testament to the author's skillful storytelling. Their journey felt so vivid and relatable that I found myself emotionally invested in their every triumph and heartbreak. The characters are impeccably written, making it feel like I traversed their tumultuous path alongside them.
My heart and soul were taken on a rollercoaster of emotions, shattered and broken, only to be meticulously pieced back together by the talented KJ. I am profoundly grateful for the resolution that Jesse and Willow deserved, a happily ever after that felt earned and satisfying. 💔
In "The Sound of Forever," KJ has not only delivered a gripping romantic suspense but also a narrative that resonates on a profound level. This duet is an absolute triumph, leaving an indelible mark on my reading experience. Bravo to KJ for crafting a story that will linger in readers' hearts long after the final page is turned.
I cannot recommend this duet enough!!
***I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
“You bring me peace and you gave me something I never thought I’d have, I never thought I wanted. You helped me love."
Rating: 4.5/5
- Second book in duet - Second chance - Pro hockey player x small-town gift shop owner - Romantic suspense - Dual POV
I’m so glad we didn’t have long to wait between these two books. The Sound of Forever picks up where The Sound of Silence ends, with extra flashbacks as we come closer to the truth of what happened that fateful night 12 years ago.
Firstly, sweet Jesse broke my goddamn heart. He didn’t think he deserved Willow when really she was exactly who he deserved – someone who accepted and cared about him more than anyone. She also deserved him, someone who made her feel seen. "You're my missing piece."
He was patient with Willow but also didn’t give up fighting for her because it’s always only been her 🥺. “You’re my everything, Willow. Thank you for making me whole again.” Did I also mention he's a protective and possessive hockey player who loves seeing her in his jersey and moves her in bed so he sleeps closest to the door?
The character growth and the way they both transformed in this book was a joy to see after all the heartbreak. You have grumpy Jesse becoming happy Jesse, which was so fun! Then you have Willow taking back control of her life and standing up for what she wants.
This was such a fantastic romantic suspense duet that I would recommend it to everyone! Thank you to Katherine for the early copy 🫶🏻.
This book picks up right where we left off with that killer of a cliffhanger in The Sound of Silence. We start getting more puzzle pieces to Willow and Jesse’s story that allows us to put them together to see the final picture when it comes to what happened that fateful night. The gut-wrenching angst of their journey was not an easy feat to overcome, but Katherine did a beautiful job in getting us to their HEA.
Their journey was captivating, intricate, emotional, enthralling, suspenseful, and ultimately healing. Jesse always felt this deep desire to protect Willow from her memories resurfacing. The last thing he wanted her to feel was the pain and guilt of what happened and live a life of being stuck in a perpetual standstill. But he never could have guessed that her tackling those memories head-on helped heal his heart and soul as well. These two suffered trauma from their past, but when together, they encompassed each other in a way that transformed their lives to a level of happiness, safety, and peace.
Katherine gave us a beautiful conclusion to this emotionally raw and gripping love story of growth, perseverance, and determination. Don’t miss out on this stunning duet full of twists, turns, and suspense!
An immediate connection that neither can explain but with an official first meet that will be tainted forever. Or at least for her. Shattered by the realization the one who makes you feel everything is actually someone you don’t know at all. Jesse, trying to outrun a past he just wants to forget. Willow desperately trying to remember hers. Although terrified of what she may find. I’m so blown away by Jesse. He has always been protecting Willow. From day one. Truly. Every choice. Every decision. The amount of care, consideration and sacrifice he makes for her utterly melts my heart. I actually started to get upset with how she was handling things because Jesse is a gem. So broken and yet helping Willow allowed him to begin to heal. I loved that. There was so much more to the story than I could have guessed. One thing after the other. Lots of twists that keep you guessing. The Sound of Forever is a page turner with a hard fought happily ever after.
“If you want me to forget you, I need more time. I need forever.”
“You may not understand it, but these feelings I have are not going away. Ever. I can’t just move on. I’ll never move on.”
“You’ve got me fighting over you. Obsessing over you. It’s you. All the fucking time. And I can’t hold back anymore.”
"You bring me peace and you gave me something I never thought I’d have, I never thought wanted. You helped me love.”
ARC review I loved this book so much! It definitely complements the first book which I loved and rated 5 stars!
I am so happy that Willow and Jesse got their happy ending they deserved it after everything that they have been through.
You have to read book one in this duet to understand what is going on in this story and I highly recommend the first book The Sound of Silence.
This book starts off where the first book ended Willow is back in the hospital after her ankle injury and is upset that Jesse has lied to her about being up on the mountain when Jade died and leaving Willow behind.
Willow doesn’t want anything to do with Jesse and she wants to just forget what happened and move on but not matter how hard she tries there is this invisible string between Willow and Jesse that they can’t break. Eventually they are both honest with each other and tell each other that they are in love and want to make their relationship work. I love how supportive Sarah and Pippa were for Willow even Seth was there for Jesse.
I knew Alex was trouble since book one and I hate what he did to Jade. I am happy that we got a character arch for Tate and he was able to rekindle his friendship with Jesse. I dislike Willow’s mom and Ashley even more than I already did.
I can’t recommend this duet more please read it!

"Everything brought you to me. The good, the bad, the heartbreak, the love—everything led us to now, to us being together, to making us stronger, to making us the people we are. The people that love each other and share a bond so strong that no one will tear us apart."
I was lucky to get an ARC of Katherine Jay's newest book, The Sound of Forever (the final book in the Symphony of Sound duet).
The Sound of Forever picks back up where we left off on that cliffhanger in The Sound of Silence.
I enjoyed this book more than I did the first book in the duet and liked seeing how everything unfolds and plays out for Willow and Jesse.
I loved getting to see Willow come into her own in this book. She has grown and changed from the girl we first met in book one. I admire how strong she is after everything she has endured.
I loved Jesse so much more this time round! My heart broke for him after learning what he went through when he was younger.
It took a while, but Jesse finally stepped up and stopped dancing around the truth and what happened to Willow twelve years ago!
The Sound of Forever was a beautiful conclusion to Willow and Jesse's story.
Thank you so much to Katherine Jay for this ARC 💛
* I highly recommend reading The Sound of Silence (the first book in the Symphony of Sound duet) before you read The Sound of Forever. *
4.5/5 "I don't ever want to make things harder on you but I need you to know...I'm not giving up...on you...or on us. I'll be here in any capacity you need me, but I will always be here. I can't let you go. I won't. I've tried. And it sucked." Willow decided to go to Jesse in San Francisco to figure out what actually happened that day. Her mind played tricks on her about some past events. Eventually, he told her about the day Jade passed away. Willow had found out about her purchasing drugs and they had argued. Jade wouldn't let go if Willow and when Willow pushed away, Jade fell and so did Willow. Jessie was able to catch Willow. Willow has to take some time to come to terms with it. She finally decides to stop fighting her feelings for Jesse and they get their happily ever after. Sara and her sell the shop and she moves to San Francisco. Tate also ends up coming clean and they all become friends again. Jades parents tell Willow that they always knew about what happened because Tate told them. Her parents and sister Ashley knew as well. Alex came and admitted that he knew Jade and was sent to jail for things that happened with her. They argued and thankfully Tate, Jesse, and Willow were okay and Alex passed away.

This is book 2 in The Sound of Silence Duet. Jesse and Willow’s story is messy and complicated but makes it that much sweeter in the end. She says she needs time and begrudgingly he leaves but his heart stays with her.
He held the truth and decided to carry the guilt so she wouldn’t have to. After trying to “move on” she needs answers but will the truth set her free or drag her under farther than she’s ever been. Jesse is determined to be whatever she needs him to even though keeping his distance is torture.
When the band on her heart finally breaks and she lets herself love and be loved the way they come together is magic. Their road will be difficult being separated by job and duty but they are determined to make it work. One last secret has been kept and in the end will that secret be what takes her away for good? Or are soulmates destined to fight through every battle faced and come out stronger on the other side.
The way Jesse loves Willow is beautiful. Love is about being selfless sometimes and he personifies that in this book for her. I loved their story and can’t wait for more from the amazingly talented Katherine Jay.
What an ending to an amazing duet! We return to Willow and Jesse’s world as they try to navigate all the secrets being reveled. The ride that Katherine takes us on with these two is everything. Willow is fighting hard against trusting and loving Jesse. Our man Jesse is doing everything he can to prove to her that she will be and is his everything and all he has done was to always protect her and never hurt her. The way these two grow and change is beautifully heartbreaking to read. Jesse show’s just what kind of man he can truly be and Willow finally starts to be HER again and start truly living for herself. When the cliffhanger is finally revealed I never saw it coming. I had an inkling but the Katherine went and through a wrench in it and it was totally more then I expected in the best way. When Willow finally gets to be apart of Jesse’s world it is just so darn cute!! I think I squealed like a little girl for he 😂 I am so grateful I got to be apart of the ARC’s for this duet. Definitely by top duet of the year!! I am so sad it’s ended but so glad it can now be shared with all of you.
