Bob Flowerdew, Infamous panellist for three decades on BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time, ex-presenter of BBC TV’s Gardener’s World, with three dozen books in a dozen languages & score of editions Bob is one of the few gardening authors to ever be splashed across the front page of the New York Times.A journey through seven decades, from rural paucity to dining with the great & good, coding first UK interactive computer game, booed off stage at Glastonbury, hitch hiked across USA, 1st BBC contract for a Jaw harp, a question setter for BBC TV’s Mastermind, & more…
This is especially interesting to me because I grew up through the same years in the same country, and although we had quite a few different experiences of it, you keep getting the ‘oh, I had forgotten that! ‘ ‘oh I didn’t realise why that happened!’. Bob is good at describing the local characters and their way of living. I must try and do the same in mine.
