The number one cause of death is heart disease. The number one cause of heart disease is stress. The number one cause of stress is work.Houston, we have a problem.Read this book and dare to explore a new career path of freedom, opportunity and fulfillment. As Fractional grows and absorbs more and more responsibility for driving growth in America, it occurred to me definitions and clarity around Fractional matters. Many people will say they’ve been doing Fractional for years. True as that may be, our economy hasn’t been doing Fractional for years. In the arc of the American economy, it’s brand new. My business partner Jason and I are educators. As such, we felt writing a taxonomy for Fractional is in order to help settle the questions down.
This was interesting. It talks about a lot of different work situations and the way things are in the workplace. The most interesting part I found was all the wasted time from employees. In the book it was said, when more people had to work from home during the pandemic, they realized it didn't take them a full work day to finish their tasks. I see this myself at my own job, but I won't get too deep into that and how annoying it is. They also talked about statistics about stress from work leading to health problems leading to bigger problems down the line. I enjoyed reading about this. While it wasn't all feel good reading, it was informative and something I recommend reading about. Happy reading. ⌚️🦺✏️💼📂🗃
John Arms, Evangelist for the Fractional World, returns for his second book proclaiming his vision for the rise of Fractional.
In his first book, John showed us how to consult your way to full-time employment. Now he takes a more academic look at the job market, the economy and the changing nature of work to show us a future in which the job market as we know it is no more, and the the majority of workers are working for themselves, not large, soulless corporations.
John explains how fractional allows experienced executives to capitalize on their valuable experience in ways that their corporate jobs never will. He explains the opportunities these execs have to maximize their income, sense of accomplishment, and happiness by becoming their own boss.
John also addresses the demand side of the equation by explaining why hiring fractional is right for over-stressed CEOs, too. Fractionals can relieve some of their burden and provide impact immediately upon joining the team, and do so at a fraction of the cost of full-time. Fractionals are unique in that they can work alongside the CEO as more of a peer than a subordinate because the fractional is able to speak openly and honestly, without a subordinate's fear of saying something that might impact his position.
Read Revolt, and you won't think about the workplace the same again.
Five stars for the subject, four stars only because I could I have learned just a little bit more. But this was a fabulous concept I was not aware of, and the book was straightforward and easy to read. It might have been helpful to have some time spent on how to not allow yourself to fall in the trap of becoming full time in a fractional position, and how to set boundaries/expectations for clients that end up expecting 24/7 support. Overall a great read.
Thank you to the publisher for a free copy of this book!
Well written and quick read. Chapter 5 focuses on giving and not receiving. Liked the jambalaya reference since I'm from Louisiana. Ch.9 spoke of the New Year and I may make the easy learning activities my.New Years resolution. It does seem to be how the workforce is becoming. Guess we will see. Thanks for the book.

I received a copy from a Goodreads Giveaway, thank you.
There was some good information, that was presented well but if you follow any kind of business/trade news you probably won’t find anything new in this short book.
