Black For a Funeral by T.E. Scott is book 7 in the Wronged Women’s Co-operative. Really enjoy this lighter-hearted series, full of great down-to-earth characters, plenty of humour and even a murder or two. The agency is called in to investigate an historic cold case. DI Macleod was on the team investigating the death of a woman 10 years previously, and always had a feeling there was more to it. Liz is also approached at a baby class to investigate a missing person. Love the quirky characters. Bernie is very abrupt and has a habit of putting people off-side. Mary’s partner is Sgt Walker and trying to get a quiet romantic moment with Mary, she has 4 children, causes quite a few laughs. And then Liz, who used to be an accountant and really enjoys not being tied to an office, particularly having a young baby. The Co-operative have built up a reputation for themselves and are periodically called on to work with the police. Certainly an enjoyable read.

Black for a funeral : The wronged Women’s Cooperative is a great series, Detective Inspector Macloud pays Bernie a visit about a cold case he always believed something was amiss with…but as Bernie, Mary and Liz trace the woman’s family , the killer proves the case is very much NOT so cold as they first thought… brilliant , immersive ,easy reading , light mystery that makes me smile and think awhile. The narrative is on point , descriptors are super and the characters are alluring. The story grabbed me from the beginning and I was captivated through till end. I was forwarded a copy of this book and my review is being voluntarily given in my own words

I should be on the WWC

I solved it well before the end... well, quite a bit before the end, anyway... but that's not to say it wasn't a good read. I love these books, with their interesting characters, fun plots and gentle humour. I read this one in a day as I was enjoying it too much to put down for long.
