Own Me is Book Five in the highly addictive forbidden romance The Wolf Hotel series.

Eight months ago, I was a naive, small-town farm girl nursing a shattered heart. Then hotel billionaire Henry Wolf picked me up off the ground (literally), and my entire life changed.

Now, I live in a luxurious Manhattan penthouse, and I'm starting my first company while planning a beautiful wedding to the man of my dreams.
I knew these first months would bring plenty of drama. I expected the savage media attention surrounding our engagement, and I braced myself for Mama's theatrics about the wedding.

But nothing could have prepared me for the big secret that just stormed through our front door, altering the course of our future.

Own Me should be read after Tempt Me, Break Me, Teach Me, and Surrender to Me.

3☆ Well, shit.
description

I had high hopes...and now that song is in my head, damnit.
Ok so after letting things marinate overnight, I've got to downgrade this one to 3. I realized I was only giving it 4 stars out of love for the rest of the series, which makes exactly zero sense.

I liked Violet's character (I smell future books) and her dynamic with Henry and Abbi was entertaining and moving to some degree. However, the reason Violet existed and the stuff with Audrey that happened when Henry was 15 creeped me out for obvious reasons. And it was kind of upsetting how he seemed to be bragging about it to his fiance as a 32-year-old instead of condemning it as completely F'd up. Especially when the secret daughter that came out of it is now 15 too. 😬

It seemed like an inordinate amount of time and focus was spent on sharing and voyeurism, which didn't make a whole lot of sense given how the last book ended ('sup Ronan, when you getting your HEA?), and the agreements Henry demanded of Abbi about exclusive physical intimacy when they got engaged. This couple has been through breakups and thorough experimentation before deciding very consciously to set up new boundaries, so the decision to immerse themselves in even more advanced situations in this book undermined those agreements IMO. Don't get me wrong, I say as long as they communicate well, people can change their damn minds about these things as much as they want within their relationships. But for this couple, with their backstory, it just didn't add up to me. Felt a bit like Henry nodding to his glory days and not really wanting to let go of all the things he said he did, and Abbi just sort of going along with it?🤨

I was excited to read about the wedding, and while it was creative the way that KAT decided to show bits of it via photographs, it wasn't quite enough. Similarly, I felt we didn't get anything substantial of the honeymoon. So the fact that we missed out on these major milestones in this book and instead spent that time/those pages in extremely detailed descriptions at the "sex house for rich people" made me especially annoyed. Overall disappointing. I'm hoping KAT might write something fresh in the future for Ronan to get a HEA and for Violet's story as well. Hmm...

Some spoilers below!

It was sweet but also broke my heart a little bit. I love this series with my whole heart. I thought the end of the 4th book wrapped up everything so nicely; there were no loose ends. I thought this series was completed...which is why I was a bit confused when I saw this book was being released and it was still a continuation of Henry and Abbi's story. Tbh, this book should have been an epilogue novella, but instead it's the length of a full book. I can understand the urge to write an epilogue novella about the wedding and to give us more scenes of our favorite characters, but all this book really managed to do was make me dislike some of the characters that I had grown to love.

Admittedly, Violet grew on me over the course of the book, but I really hated her whole storyline. I was glad that she didn't end up being a brat to Abbi, but I just couldn't get past the whole story with Audrey. Why did we have to introduce a storyline where ? There was no reason to have that layer of pedophilia in this book. It was also creepy that Henry was seemingly proud of it. I just felt bad for Violet - it seems like her story will be hidden her whole life. This storyline of Audrey/Violet almost made me put the book down when it came out around ~35% in, but I did end up liking Violet, all things considered.

The thing that has always kept me going with this series is the smut and the side characters. This series has the best spicy scenes in a MF contemporary romance series that I've ever read (if you're into sharing..wink wink). That said, in book 4, Henry said he would never share Abby ever again, and that kinda sucked tbh because that was a main thing that has interested me in their relationship thus far. There is one really intense spicy scene (MMF) that I loved around 55% in, but then there's no more smut for the rest of the book.

Onto the side characters - I continue to be obsessed with Roman and Margo. Violet was fine. Mama continues to be annoying, but I'm kinda used to it and fine with her antics at this point (at least she's consistent, eh?). I wish we got more of Connor in this. It did feel a little bit weird that Henry all the sudden has these 3 best friends that he introduces to us at the 11th hour of this series. We've read 4 books about Henry, and it's not until now (in book 5) that we are learning about his 3 best friends. It just felt too late, and it was obvious to me that it was an attempt to spark a spin-off series for 1 or all of Henry's best friends.

It pains me to say that this book made me dislike Henry a bit, although moreso in the first half of the book. He just seemed like a dick, but not in a hot way...more in like a cringe douchey way. I was like, OK Chad. Interestingly enough, I love Abbi, which is surprising. Abbi is the type of FMC who I think I'd normally dislike, but something about her (that I can't pinpoint) just makes me really like her.

Overall, it was good in the end, but I almost DNF'd it because of Audrey's story, and it really wasn't necessary. There was no reason for this to be 300 pages long. This could've been a cute wedding epilogue novella, but there was unnecessary drama (the whole thing with the tabloids was not needed). I wish we also got to see more of the wedding. The whole book builds up to the wedding/Alaska/asking Violet to move in with them, etc., but then it's all glazed over in the epilogue. There's barely any smut because Abbi and Henry aren't sharing anymore (so it's not as interesting), and the smut had been one of the strongest highlights of this series in the other books. Tbh I can't even remember what DID happen in this book. I guess a lot of stuff with the soap company, which was a bit boring tbh.

Anyways, I'm getting repetitive and rambling now. Good, not great. I still love this series.

MORE ABBI & HENRY IM SO EXCITED!!!! Be prepared to be SICK of me December 14th! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO MEEEE

Update after reading 🫶🏻
‼️‼️‼️SPOILERS ‼️‼️‼️

“You will have the most beautiful bride of the year.”
“I’ll have that no matter what she wears.”

This series put me through it and I was sooo excited for the final chapters of Henry and Abbi. I was hoping for a quick, low drama read seeing how their lives continued on. I should have known better!!

Own Me picks up right from the end of the 4th book. Like the day after their engagement. I was ready for some drama revolving this couple and I did enjoy the book. However there was a lot I didn’t enjoy.

K.A Tucker just had to put one of my most despised tropes in here. Henry finds out he has a 15!!! year old daughter. Which put him at 16/17 when she was born and not only that but to one of his teachers!! who was 29 at the time. So a predator. Nice. In revelation of the news Abbi is obviously upset and disgusted with the ow. Again she was his teacher!!! Understanding. Henry doesn’t want to hear anything bad about this ow coming from Abbi. He was going to meet her/his daughter and was going to leave Abbi at home! Are you fr???? It honestly didn’t make it any better that the ow had died and that’s how the daughter found out from some paperwork. Should I not think bad thoughts about her now that she’s dead?? Too bad!

“Mrs. Robinson found a cute little neighborhood to hide in.”
Henry’s eyebrow arches, but there’s no amusement in the look. “I didn’t agree to you coming so you could attack her. If you can’t be civil—”

I HATE secret child from ow. Especially with this series it was so not needed. Henry is so experienced in every aspect of life and is it too much to ask for that Abbi could give him just one first?? She didn’t even get the chance to give him his first child. That really upset me.

Moving past this… I was looking forward to some scenes. Christmas, their vacation in Aspen, the WEDDING! I got none of them. We get a brief rehashing of each.

I still love them but sigh this was not what I wanted from this book 😭 I’m glad we got to see Ronan (and him being a bridesman! so perfect), Connor and Margo again.

Here you can find a girl crying at someone else's wedding, and yearning for their family.
Bye.

--
I really did not want this book, and by extension, this series to end. I want additional content, bonus epilogues, and more chapters.
I want to know about the bachelorette in Ibiza! Having Margo and Ronan there with this mature and confident and marvellous Abbi? I do want to read that!
And I want to know what debauchery did the best men plan for Henry's bachellorette.
This was truly very sexy. I loved the sexual dynamics. I loved the growth and openness we see in both Henry and Abbi.
Violet was such a warm addition. This book transpired their relationship and story to grandeur places, and showed us A LIFE, beyond the story.
I wonder what they would be doing now and what they would name their children...

I’ve been a fan of this series since it was Wolf Bait by Nina West!
This book felt like it was rushed and incomplete. As fans we couldn’t wait for them to get married and we don’t even get to read about the day. The author skips right over it. The secret that came out in this book? It wasn’t needed. It made this feel like two different stories. Henry’s friends? Was just thrown in there. I was just letdown

This was SO disappointing! I absolutely devoured this series and was so excited when I heard there was going to be a fifth book- I hated it.

Major spoilers ahead!!

What I didn’t like:

The book picks up right where that last one left off- 90% of this story is about Henry’s daughter that he didn’t know about and them trying to incorporate her into their lives…and some of Abbi’s soap business thrown in.

The wedding was completely brushed over and we’re only told about it after the fact right at the end. I wanted more of the love story- not Henry and Abbi with a 15 year old tagging along.

Abbi acting like a child about the Halloween costume really annoyed me for some reason.

It really bothered me that I’m left feeling that Ronan is still pining for and in love with Abbi(for what reason I don’t know).

What I did like:
The funhouse.

Sorry I know this is a lot of negative I just had really high hopes for this book.

The story I never knew I needed!! Wow did KA Tucker end this series on a high note. This had way more plot than I was expecting, especially compared to the rest of the series, but it still managed to have its erotic moments too (the circus party iykyk). I loved the ending and would love something that follows Violet in the future!

Henry and Abbi

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Own Me by KA Tucker. Book 6 in the Wolf Hotel series (I like to read the Ronan prequel novella first). Single POV (Abbi's). Ebook purchase, Alexa app listen, and audiobook purchase and listen. I wanted to borrow it and read it through Kindle Unlimited, but at the last minute, I pre-ordered it. I felt like I couldn't wait three more hours to read it. Now that I've finished it, I realize I could've waited. The audiobook is listed as 9 hours 23 minutes; I listened at speed 2.50 for 3 hours 45 minutes. Narrator Avery Reid's voice has aged and changed quite dramatically in the years since the last book was recorded. She read well. It's clearly her, but she sounds at least fifteen years older than the twenty-one year old main female character. Content warnings: H got his 29 year old high school teacher pregnant when he was 15, H's father found out, made sure the H didn't know about it; H's father blackmailed the teacher into staying away from H and keeping silent about his baby; H found out he has a 15 year old daughter after the death of his father and brother; Violet's mom died of ALS; an elderly couple struggles to take care of their granddaughter and one has a stroke; @n@l and MMF.

Locations: Wolf Cove, Alaska; New York; Greenbank, PA

I enjoy KA Tucker's work, and the Wolf Hotel series is one of my favorite series. The series has interesting characters, a compelling storyline, intriguing twists, and some of the best chemistry between characters and erotic moments I've read. This one didn't meet the standard set by the rest of the series.

It started off strong the day after the end of 'Surrender To Me,' but that quickly fell apart. There was a lot of repetitive mentions of information from the previous books. Plots in the story were built up but then the actual events were skipped over and we were only given snippets of what happened after the fact: Christmas with the Mitchells, their trip to Colorado to celebrate Violet's birthday, what happened to Roshana, what happened to Barbara, Henry and Abbi's wedding, etc. At the end of the book, I felt sad for Abbi (21, 22), Henry (32), and Violet (15, 16). On top of that, the intimate scenes were abruptly cut short and fade-to-black for most of the book. Henry, Abbi, and the Wolf Hotel series characters were all bonfire hot in the previous books. The actual consummation scenes in this book were well written but seemed to be added as an afterthought. This story felt like being edged over and over, and the climax was ultimately taken away when the wedding was completely skipped.

I'd like to petition for the return of spicy storyteller K. A. Tucker. There was so much more she could've done with this book, so much more of Henry and Abbi's story to tell. I was happy with where the series ended with 'Surrender To Me.' With this new edition, I feel like a bunch of new storylines have been started that will eventually crossover into other future stories, but that created questions I didn't need. Overall, this book left me dissatisfied and disappointed. JP

3 out of 5 on my spice scale

1st read 12-13-23 (Alexa app listen)
1st listen 04-11-24
2nd listen 01-10-24
3rd listen 11-22-25

sigh*

I loved this series but I don’t think this book was a necessary addition to the series. It was rushed and I don’t feel that it brought anything to the series.

Did I love seeing Henry as a father figure? Yeah
Did I love the storyline how to came to be? No

I don't even know what to say about this one. At first, I was nervous because I read a few reviews that spoiled a twist. Henry and Abbi have been through so much, I was actually pissed that this book was going to have another problem for them to navigate. But in true form, I've learned not to let reviews sway me so much because I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!

These two are so perfect for one another. They continue to grow and just love one another through everything. They are there to support and pick one another up. There is no doubt on the planet that Henry loves Abbi with everything he has. And Abbi returns that love. She handled the twist with such grace and honestly I fell more in love with her because of it.

I loved that we got to see Ronan again. He will always be a bright spot for me.

I do wish we had more of them in the future. We don't get vows at their wedding, or the reception, or any of the fun wedding stuff. The epilogue was a snippet of them on their honeymoon. I wanted to know how Violet was doing, how the family was coming together, did they have any kids together, etc... We didn't get any of that.

I hate to say it but I had to DNF at 60 percent once this became all about secret daughter. It was a snooze. I guess I wish this was a novella with one wedding scene and then the bonkers sex party. If I had a nickel for a hot as fuck house of mirrors scene I read, I’d have 2 nickels! This was great and v reminiscent of old Wolf Hotel books (kinda random and super kinky and elusive to a sword cross scene but never delivers, classic wolf hotel) But the rest was just so so boring. I don’t care about Mama losing 10 lbs and the soap business. All in all, this could have been an epilogue to introduce Henry’s 3 random friends we’d never heard of and a crazy 3 some and I would have absolutely loved it.

3 / 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
2 / 5 : 🌶 🌶
Spicy chapters: 1, 10, 12

Tbh, not a lot happens in this book, especially compared to its predecessors. It's a pleasant read and continues the story right after the last one ("Surrender to me"). I think thay this book is less spicy but more romantic compared to the previous ones in the series.

I was a bit apprehensive about reading about Henry's daughter Violet at the beginning, but I loved her sassyness and personality by the end of the book.

Henry (MMC) has come a long way since the first book. Thank goodness because I couldn't stand him in the 1st installment of the series. Abby (FMC) has also grown a lot, she's matured, becomes more confident, and creates strong bonds of friendship with Margo and Ronan. She's also the perfect buffer between Henry and his newfound teenage daughter.

As many fans of the Wolf Hotel series , I am a 100% Ronan fan. He's by far the best character, and I kind of wish that Abby had ended up with him... I'm begging you K.A.Tucker, pretty please give him a HEA story 🙏 🙏 🙏 Just take my money, I need more of Ronan~. He's such a hot, masculine, deviant sweetheart 😍 #teamronan4ever

Anyhow, I think that "Own Me" is not as good as the previous books in the series, but it is still interesting to know what happens after the MMC and FMC's engagement. I'd say that this book is for the hard-core fans of the Wolf Hotel series.

Happy reading! 📚😊

I've been so incredibly pumped for this. I craved more of Henry and Abbi after the last book! 🔥

In Own Me we jump right into the day after that amazing night Abbi had with Henry and you know who. Who else than these two would start their book by joining the Mile High club, ey?

We are going through the planning of their wedding, a surprise teenager crashes Henry's life and we learn that Henry has a close-knit group of hot best friends we get to meet. It's all very new but at the same the same old crazy plot of Henry's life endeavours and Abbi's innocence, which she lost and seems like she aged up a lot which is frankly great to see. However, Henry's friends are one of the best parts of this book.

Now, the spice. Ms. Tucker didn't come out to play. Wow, just wow. Secret erotic party, voyeurism and exhibitionism, toys, hints of MM and group play. Just... incredible. 👀

Violet was a shocking but in the end a pleasant surprise. Preston, Merrick, Waren, Margo and Ronan all made this book that much better. Not to sound redundant, but I feel like there is still so much this series has to offer and I'm dying for more, honestly. The ending was nicely tied off with the potential of a beautiful future. Maybe some of the drama was unnecessary, yet I adored this story regardless. For one, their wedding was told beautifully.

READ WITHIN 6 HOURS. LOVED. DEVOURED. DEMOLISHED.
Please note this is book 5 of the Wolf Hotel series, with this series to be read in order following the same couple.

- Forbidden Romance
- Age Gap
- Billionaire

I was so excited to be back with Abbi & Henry!! I was also nervous to see what other "troubles" this couple may have to face before they get their dream wedding & HEA - But fortunately, this book more then delivered!

In this final instalment, we get to read about Abbi & Henry working together on getting that happy every after they know they deserve & desire. As secret from Henry's past makes themself known, Abbi & Henry must work together against the noise to not just protect their relationship, but that secret to. This book showed the growth they both had endured through their relationship, and the lessons they had learnt to ensure they always put each other first.

This book does pick up right after book 4 which I was happy about, and I was also happy to be reunited with past side characters including Margo & Ronan. I do still hope we get a Ronan HEA though!!! I am crossing all my fingers Kathleen gets inspired to write his HEA soon!

Overall, this is a emotional growth story that was perfect for their final epilogue.

5/5 stars with 4/5 steam.

I enjoyed the wolf series and I was so excited when this book was announced. But it just didn’t hit for me. It felt rushed, I feel the major conflicts were skipped over. It was just not a satisfying book. And the spice was very tame compared to the earlier books.

I just finished listening to this on hoopla through my library and I actually enjoyed it well enough. I am not surprised to see that many fans of the series dislike this one as it lacks the same level of never ending heat and introduces new storylines while not actually detailing the wedding that everyone wanted to read so badly. Honestly, I enjoyed it though and enjoyed the introduction of Violet. It was fun to see Henry in a different light/role and honestly I enjoyed Abbi a bit better as she read more mature and they both had personalities and worries outside of how will they bang next. Anyway. Enjoyed this and would love a story for Violet eventually. I know Ronan is next and she is WAY too young for him, but down the line it would be cool to see where she is and if she gets any siblings!

This was an awesome series. I'm really surprised it held my attention through 5 books! All the same MC's.

While there were a couple areas that seemed to slow the story down a little for the most part it moved really smooth.

I loved the 'Invite Only' party scenes. I think that one scene nearly melted my kindle! Talk about SPICY!.

I'm so glad our group discovered this new to us author and very much looking forward to reading more of her work.

If you love this series and want to protect your peace, just pretend it ended with the last book.

(SPOILERS AHEAD ‼️⚠️)

Listen I LOVE this series and KA Tucker, but this book made me realize there is a trope I hate more than the pregnancy trope: the secret child trope.

I DNF’d at over halfway because it was just all too much and wasn’t going anywhere. I’d rather just pretend it ended with the last book.
We have the secret child, the fact his father hid his own child from him, the predatory/ped*philic nature of their relationship (16 and 29), and worst of all Henry refusing to hear a bad word about his predator, nah, I’m good.

Violet, his secret daughter, didn’t add anything to the story line and took away from the actual updates and plot I did want to see in the book (the wedding).

This could have actually been a great opportunity to bring light to male SA survivors but it was just minimized by Henry which is really disappointing.

Own Me is the final novel in Abby and Henry’s tumultuous romance culminating with their marriage. Though, it isn’t smooth sailing to their happily ever after.

It’s been awhile since I read the previous novels, so I was worried I would miss out by not rereading. I’m happy to report that despite the novel seemingly picking up the day after the ending of Surrender to Me, I wasn’t lost or confused.

I rated Own Me three stars because I wasn’t a fan of the plot twist. It was an unnecessary drama that was incredibly problematic. Some of the characters’ reaction to the twist was gross at best.

Own Me is as spicy as the previous novels with a particular scene at an exclusive Halloween party. IYKYK.

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Overall, Own Me was slightly disappointing because of the twist that dominated the story. While I enjoyed closing the story on Abby and Henry, I’m excited to move forward with Ronan’s novel releasing this summer!

SPOILERS‼️

I have thoughts.. I don’t like being a book hater since I did actually enjoy the rest of this series BUT this series and this book especially honestly kind of infuriated me upon finishing this; first the constant dismissal of his baby mama being his teacher and him being an underage student??????? I won’t touch on wtf the thought process was because it’s fiction but brother eughhhhh!

I would’ve happily read this as a bonus chapter and an epilogue which I think it should’ve been. I personally found it a bit boring & I still think Abbi and Ronan had more chemistry. Henry still def grew on me and this was still cute minus like half the book. ALSO I was excited for this wedding then the chapter ended and it skipped to the honeymoon?? Nevermind then
