Born in the Spring

Rate this book
Jasper Cassidy was seventeen when he met and fell in love with Elara Hayes.
She was twenty-nine.

When she started dating his older brother, famous snowboarder, Shepherd Cassidy, they broke his heart, causing a deeper rift in the brothers’ already complicated relationship that they struggled to repair over the next five years. Until the night Shepherd died in a snowboarding accident during a trip back to their family’s ski resort—an accident that shouldn’t have happened.

Now, six months after the funeral, Elara is back in town after Jasper’s guilt from that night and for loving her pushed her to leave. But Elara has her own guilt about that night. And in their grief, she tells him she needs them to be them—friends.

But everything has changed.

His brother and her boyfriend is gone, and Jasper can’t feel guilty for his feelings and needing more. And as moments from their past start to nudge, seemingly innocent looks and touches and slips of her tongue, he lets himself believe that if he hadn’t been a teenager when they met, she would’ve picked him.

Even moments now tell him deep in her heart, he’s there too.

Jasper’s love for Elara was born in the spring.
And maybe, maybe her love for him will surface in their winter.

Ok... Ok.. so I needed to take a minute to gather my thoughts for this one. My head and heart are still in and on the pages trying to remove myself and move on....

Malynda Schlegel where the hell have you been hiding?? I dont even know if I am going to be able to express into words how you pulled every God damn emotion out of me in this beautiful piece of writing.

Born in the Spring is perfection... for those who know me - you know I don't really like to rewrite the blurb - go and read it for yourself. It seriously doesn't do it justice though - this damn book.... It broke my heart in the very first chapter - fucking crushed it - and then Malynda Schlegel started piecing it all back together until it was whole again - better to begin with - right through until the very last page. I need more - I want more.....

I was so blessed to get a copy of this one - so damn lucky - it's being released on the 7th March - go damnit - go and preorder it - go and get your grubby little paws on this and be prepared to love every word on every damn page!!!

Born in the Spring is a steamy, angsty standalone romance by Malynda Schlegel.
This book has Schlegel's signature writing, with beautiful prose and witty banter, and while she's normally a slow burn queen, this book does heat up a bit quicker than I expected.
And when I say heat up, let me tell you. Jasper Cassidy has some of my favorite lines that I've ever read in intimate scenes. Oh my lord.

Okay this review has turned into rambling, but! Born in the Spring also has my all time favorite trope, older woman/younger man. The whole situation with the age difference and the internal and external dilemmas that come along with it make this book perfect for fans of the trope

You can grab your copy for preorder on amazon now, or in Kindle unlimited on release day, March 7th.

This book is a journey.

A journey of love and honor and hope. Elara has been a part of the Cassidy family for years, when an accident takes all she thought she knew herself to be, she flees only to come back to the mountain when she hiding was no longer an option. Jasper Cassidy was in love with Elara from them moment he took the jump to say hello to her when he was 17.

Life takes them on different paths that intersect constantly, but they knew deep inside their souls what was always there.

Born in the Spring will lead you on a journey where you feel all the emotions felt. Malynda goes above and beyond to tell this tale in a manner that is delicate and refreshing. You won’t be able to stop thinking about this book!
