Christine Pattle writes thrillers. Countless hours spent watching every high-octane film available in her youth instilled a permanent love of edge-of-your-seat suspense. She soon moved from film to books, devouring all things thriller, crime and mystery.
When she’s not writing, she’s busy scaring herself silly riding big, feisty horses, or walking around the countryside dreaming up exciting new plots. As if that wasn't enough, she still manages to squeeze in the day job, trying to make small budgets do great things in the fight against homelessness.
I thought Rose's judgemental attitude was bad enough, but Bethany's dad takes the cake. Not once has he believed in his daughter's innocence. He acts as though she is being willfully silent, refusing to see how traumatised Bethany is. She can feel his anger and it is increasing her angst. He has refused to let Irina see her daughter and now he's taken off for a week's holiday to play golf, because the stress is all too much for him. If I were Irena I would never forgive him for abandoning us when we needed him most.

Good murder mystery that moves well with nice plot twists. Rose finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation when she offers to take Irina to her daughter’s school, where the murder occurred.
Rose gets more involved as she learns about Bethany, the suspect, and her dealings with the parents. Rose makes a huge discovery that breaks the case wide open and leads to the true killer.
The book's ending opens up another mystery for Rose to deal with.
