"We have won, brother. The Three are no more and those who remain have clearly reached a stalemate in combatting the General and his army. All that is left for us to do is take everything and let chaos rule. I only wait for Calhoun to return so we might continue our search for Kiarra. A promise was made to us and I will see it fulfilled."
Connie Suttle lives in Oklahoma with her husband and three cats.
Connie holds an MFA in Fine Art (film production and animation) and taught courses at the university level before moving on to bookstore management. Nowadays, if she isn't writing or editing, she's dreaming up her next book.
Blood Finale was very frustrating for me. I was beyond annoyed with how the story went, and I was annoyed with how it kept skipping to so many point of views. That was distracting, and rather boring to me.
The only thing I really liked about this book was the ending. And I was a little bit annoyed with some of the mates to the females, and how that was handled.
So, overall this one was not for me. I really didn't like this book at all, and I was hoping it would have been better.
I loved this book! I went through so many emotions while reading it that I can't identify them all. I cried a lot because there were many beautiful moments while also having many heartbreaking ones. I honestly felt like this was a perfect ending. All of the characters got the endings that they deserved and I was so happy that everything that was unresolved, worked itself out. I actually found it difficult to read because I didn't want to let it go just yet. I didn't want to let go of the characters and I wasn't ready for everything to be over. I am really happy that I took my time reading it and savored every moment because it just made everything worthwhile. I love this world that Connie Suttle has created and it will take a while to get over it. This series leaves a mark on you that will never truly go away and I am so happy that I got to be a part of it. I know there are some additional books in the future and I will definitely be reading those. I am just so happy that this series got the ending it deserved and I couldn't be more thankful to Connie for doing her characters justice with this phenomenal final book.
I think this book was one of the worst of connie suttle's books... Sometimes it's just too hard to keep track of all the caracters in a regular book. But in this book we had a good number of caracters (for all the 3 series) add to that the going on to the past / present / future, around worlds!!! I sometimes got lost in the book. Couldn't remember caracters.... Just a mess.... And I so look forward for it....
This was the finale of Breanne’s story. I was a little confused by all the folding space into different times in the present and past. I was really disappointed at the end. Hank was my favorite character throughout this series. I really enjoyed several of the happily ever afters for Reah and Lissa.
Connie writes some brilliant books I really enjoyed this series. Going to find another of her books it has taken me a while to finish these but they are well written
This is definitely a book that you need to have read a lot (perhaps all) of Connie Suttle's previous work to have followed all the way through.
Connie has taken her original series, which started with 'Blood Wager' and over a while turned the original urban fantasy Vampire + Warewolves subject into something so much more - that it can be hard to describe to be people.
I enjoyed the book, and I hope it gave Connie the closure she needed on this series. I would like to read something new from her.
Alright! So with this one, I hung on and got through it. It very nicely tied some of the ends together from the series - from all the series - and left the characters with some closure.
I like the characters and I have followed the series for a while - I gave this one three stars as I appreciate the follow through (and the regular releases!) but there are some reoccuring themes that happen just a bit too often to make this one 'wow' or 'classic' or to the 4 star mark.
I am sure there will be many who enjoy it though and I won't slam it - it was interesting for the culumnation of a series.
For new series from Connie - my wishlist: - Please let characters go if they die. I enjoy and like most main characters but if they happen to pass away they don't always need to be brought back. If it happens regularly, people can take the death less seriously than it may deserve. - Please let your main characters draw a line about what kind of respect and love they deserve, and stick with this. Growth and change can be magnificent ways of blooming in difficult situations, rather than having regular betrayal and hurt.
I will always like Connie's series, because she took something and turned it into something other and huge. Not everyone will follow through on their stories so thoroughly and I think Connie has done a good job with what she has created.
After the ending of Blood Love, God Wars, #4, Blood Finale couldn't get here soon enough. The final book is more than worth the wait.
What I liked: Ms Suttle had the herculean task of tying up everything with characters from 4, count them, 4 series. I would not believed it, if I hadn't read it. All the characters from all her books make appearances and have their stories resolved. I can't say too much without giving something away, but, Be Prepared!! The most minute detail is covered and resolved for the reader and in an entertaining way. You never know what to expect and can't take anything for granted.
What I didn't like: Again, as I've said before, trying to keep track of all the characters is a huge task. How Ms. Suttle was able to write and involve all these characters is mind boggling. Many times, I had to visit her website and the glossary posted there, to jog my memory.
Each character from all her series is combined in Blood Finale. Ms Suttle treats each one with the respect due and the back stories in mind. Such talent to juggle and remember so many things is unbelievable to me.
The Kindle version is reasonably priced at $4.99. There is no printed version at this time.
Highly recommend. (A caveat here. You MUST start at the beginning of this series and read them in order or you will absolutely think the author is nuts in this book. Just saying!!)
This is the conclusion to a twenty six book series and because of this, it is probably an extremely difficult book to write. I know that after about a third of the way through the book I was very confused and frustrated. At one point I thought about going back to the start of the God War series and re-reading the proceeding four books before starting ‘Blood Finale’ again.
The problem is that so many plotlines and characters have to be pulled together to bring a conclusion to this story, that unless you have a photographic memory, the reader is constantly trying to remember which character is which and what they did in the previous books. One day I will go back to the first book (Blood Wager) and read all the books up to Blood Finale in one go.
Fortunately, about half way through the book I began to find my way through the different storylines and was able to follow what was happening and actually began to enjoy the book.
Even though I found the first half of the book very difficult, it is still a worthy conclusion to what has been an epic story and I will certainly be looking forward to Connie’s next series.
Pulling together and providing a satisfactory conclusion to all four of Suttle's series was an ambitious undertaking, but in this case the ambition was greater than the delivery. Most of the book was a jumble of short scenes featuring characters from the various series, many of whom it was difficult to keep straight and few of which moved the story along. The heart of the story was in the last fifty or so pages, but after wading through most of the book where little happened I mostly was glad to see it end.
On the positive side, the book does provide answers about the background and motivations of some key characters and the overall story arc does come to a satisfactory conclusion. For avid fans of the various series, it's a must read for those reasons. Just don't expect much satisfaction in this read until the end.
This is the big finish to not only the God Wars series but also Blood Destiny and High Demon series. Unfortunately this makes the first part of this finale very confusing with so many characters. Even though I have read all 20+ books this year, several of the players are not fresh, but it is all pulled together and amazingly wrapped up. Just when you think there can be no more pain and suffering the "good guys" are dealt some pretty hard blows by the General and his rouge gods. As they pull together, jump timelines and try to save all they can in their universe it's all going to come down to one big showdown and the fate of all the worlds will once again rest on the shoulders of the three main ladies.
This book took a while to finish it had too much events happening all at once and it took a bit longer to keep track of everything.
Breanne was and is the baddest and most forgiving and loving of the 3.
As the story processed near the end I figured who the General was.
It was a great combination of all the series previously read and how one thing might alter the past.
Connie you are an awesome and phenomenal author. Your writing is ecceptional, your attention to details are on point and they overwhelmed or overshadow the series.
All the series that I have read for you they are just exceptional. Thank you for allow us to be entertained, grow mentally and emotionally in your universe.
I liked how the author tied the multiple storyline a together. I liked how smooth everything came together it was incredible and took talent. I thought the characters were interesting, intriguing and incredible. The whole package drew me in and I couldn't wait to finish this to find out what happened to the characters. However..... The ending needs work and I was disappointed there wasn't enough information, closure whatever you want to call it. Basically the little stuff that bothered me didn't distract from the story at all.
Love this series. Had a whole range of emotions while reading. From anger, sadness, to happiness. There were some times I wanted to jump into the book and knock some sense into the characters. There were other times I did a happy dance.
As I said, love this series. I would definitely recommend reading. Make sure to read Connie's earlier books, such as the Blood Destiny and High Demon Series first as some things will be given away.
Blood Finale is just what one should expect as a final book in a long series. Sure, there are only 5 books in the God Wars series, but the God Wars series builds on all the series before it- Blood Destiny, Ir'Indicti, etc. So the God Wars finale is exponentially more complex than any normal series finale. Readers get answers to many questions and insight into many occurrences.
What a great ending to the God Wars series. It also gives closure to the Blood Destiny series, the Legend of the Ir'Indicti series and the High Demon series. I am hoping that some of our favorite characters will be mentioned in the Saa Thalaar series just as an update. Even if they aren't I will gladly read this author's work.
It was a little confusing the first time you read it. But after far-reaching the whole series again it all makes sense. This book was brilliant unwrapping up all the different characters stories. You this the shocking twist is revealed in blood love, and the discover an even bigger one after the big bad guy is destroyed. Would totally recommend this series.
