This book immediately continues The Brides of Rakesh, following up on events from Claimed by the Alien General . While under the auspices of the kingdom of Rakesh, the least liked and misunderstood Ivy sets out to stay true to her responsibilities back on Earth. Yet, she’s captivated by the noble Royal General Bast, whose own main goal is to fulfill his royal duty. But even with all of his nobility, General Bast struggles to stay focused as he is distracted by his new delectable pairing. *This novel was originally serialized on Kindle Vella.
I'll go back and finish, but I'm I the only one not feeling Ivy? I don't much like her character, even in the previous books I didn't take to her much. Now I know why, she trifling. First she always voicing how her family shunned her, and distance herself from her family. Now she stuck on this planet with other women from earth, who she has not made much of a effort to befriend. Then she complains about these same women when they give her that same energy. Then she is willing to saddle up to the enemy who tried to kill her and the the other women, more so the one should could come close to calling a friend(whom was pregnant by the way). I get she wants to go back to earth to see about her sister, I get it. What I don't get is the plotting, planning, and keeping information that could harm the very people who actually are trying to protect and take care of you. Not once have I seen her show concern for the safety or harm that could come to the others. Ok now I don't agree with the general forcing her to get the chip, but after she got into cahoots with the enemy I see why she would especially need a tracker. She just seem unconcerned, self absorbed, sneaky, manipulative, and could possibly cause problems for the king. Ok that's the end of my vent fest. Basically I didn't like her in the previous books and I still don't. I wish the general would stop fooling with the chick. I know that's not going to happen so back to reading.
Halfway through the book to review this. I'm a bit disappointed. I don't understand why authors rush the process and deliver sloppy work. They called the princess a prince, one minute Ivy is naked and pleasuring Bast while in the next paragraph she has her clothes on that he's removing, Jamila is written as being with Bast when she's with Cepo, or however it's spelled. So many more errors. Ivy is so freaking annoying. She's not even a b***h anymore, just doing annoying and wreckless stuff. This hot and cold thing is exhausting to say the least. Whoever you paid to edit, get your mf money BACK!! Like would it kill y'all to do a final read through. Hell, have a friend or family member read over it. So disappointed. These books have the potential to be excellent but I don't know what this was that was thrown together. I'm going to finish the rest because I genuinely love the story but the next one, get some new eyes looking at it.
Book four of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔𝒉 by Eva O’Hare, Ivy the least agreeable of the ten human women paired with those on the planet of Rakesh. Ivy is paired with General Bast and the relationship is going well, but Ivy wants to go home. She is worried about her twin sister Lily. Things become harder for Ivy before they get better. Ivy’s got a secret that she has only disclosed to Jamila. Ivy wants to use every opportunity she has to save her sister.
Okay, now we are getting somewhere, I only can hope this is not the end of this series as the author has left me wondering how Ivy, Ashley, Bast, and Prince Amun will get back to Rakesh and what about the other women. What are their stories? Should the author continue this series outside of Kindle Vella, I will pick up the rest of this series.
Idk why these women are so disagreeable. I understand Zora's position as the king made it very clear what they were there to do and she knew that she wouldn't likely be able to do it. Everyone else (except Estelle) thus far has given angry black woman or emotionally challenged teen and sometimes both. I really hope they bring back a therapist from Earth. Its becoming too much, lol.
Also, are we gonna read this same story 7 more times. I understand Dawn because she was all alone navigating this life - the 6 others? If everyone gonna have a chip on their shoulders, not know how to communicate properly, or be scared of sex and/or intimacy? I think a refreshing take would be that one of the men aren't eager to mate. Maybe let a strong confident woman shine through for one story.
The series started out slow but has definitely revved up. The personalities of each couple definitely differ enough to keep things interesting. As a science buff myself I can't wait to read Ashley's story.
Ivy's tale isn't my favorite but I loved how her story moved the story along and I like that the author is acknowledging that not everyone was oh so happy to leave their family on Earth behind.
As always the spice was spicy and even though this story felt kind of like a side act in the over all epic it was still well written.
A few grammar and spelling mishaps but nothing that distracted from the story too terribly much. Go at one point the author did get two of the alien leads mixed up!
Ivy is used to being a loner, but being with Bast has shown her that she doesn’t need to be. Bast will always do his duty, but being with Ivy has given him a new path in life. Can they figure it out before they’re torn apart?
Ivy was hella stubborn, but I understand that conflict is needed. There was a small plot hole from the last book, but I can only assume that Ivy was mistaken for her sister. I wish we could have spent more time sorting out Ivy’s family, but I’m assuming the earth stuff will come in Ashley’s book
If you like stubborn people, duty vs love, and spies! Then this is for you
I have DEVOURED this series!! Within the last week I’ve finished four out of the five books & I can’t believe my time in Rakesh will be ending soon😭🥺 Getting more backstory and time with Ivy throughout this book made me connect with her character more! In other books she just seemed flat out rude & unlikable but within this story she was battling with a lot of past & current traumas that made her so much more understandable. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her let her guard down for Bast, and him embracing Ivy’s flaws had me in my feels🤭🥰 Loved the cliffhanger as well! Running to jump into book five as I type this LOL!🏃🏽♀️💨
I was really enjoying this series, but this book was a struggle. The MFC is very unlikeable. I understand there needs to be some angst to keep the story going, but her behavior and attitude were unnecessary. Also, some of the dialogue came across as somewhat unnatural. It didn't flow. It felt like there were words in this book just to extend it. The only reason I finished it (mostly scanning through the pages) was because I knew the events were connected to the following books.
I did enjoy the relationship between Bast and Ivy. Bast is the most sensual and sexy being.🔥Ivy is a person that has deeply rooted feelings in troubled trust and telling the truth to her partner. For me Ivy was always causing problems especially for herself. Bast is really patient and always wants to help Ivy. I like how you connect one book into the next. Looking forward to reading the next book Ms O’Hare.
Though the book was well written and I loved the storyline my dislike for Ivy was constantly re-enforced that it made it hard to enjoy. Her attitude and selfish mindset made me not want to read the book half the time. From the start of the series I have been waiting for someone to lay hands on the woman cause the need for an attitude adjustment is great with that one. Bast deserves better
This book was well written. However I didn’t enjoy this book like the previous one’s. The female main character just irritated me. I didn’t like the decisions she made. And she still loved the man who had her arrested. I had to put the book down a couple of times because I was frustrated with her. Could have been less talk about sex. But if that doesn’t bother you then this is the book for you.
I have to honestly say, Ivy the lead character of this book got on my nerves. Her constant criticism of the other women and selfish treatment of Bast was annoying. General Bast tried his best to be supportive yet honorable to his duty and planet. I hope she gets it together in the next book.
This one was my least favorite so far. Ivy was very difficult and immature in a sense. All the back and forth with Bast gave me a headache so I skipped chapters. She's not interested in being nice or close to woman. Her super tough girl, independent attitude is draining. The other couples have been more interesting and have more chemistry.
Eva does such a great job of conveying character. Let's put it this way, I was going through some stuff with my husband and I had to choose reading times carefully because Ivy's character is a bit ascerbic and I didn't want to effect my mood. That's good writing right there!
It should be clearly stated that this book is not a standalone when providing a description. It's annoying and now I have to wonder if I get the next book if it will be the same or do I cut my losses and not go any further
It took a minute to remember the storyline of this series. Ivy cares too much about people who don’t care about her. She was very annoying and impatient. The story was kind of boring. Didn’t make me want to read the next book.
Well written and lots of suspense and filled with emotionally charged action. Not to mention the matching and mating of the human females and the Rajesh princes. Can't wait for the next book.😁
I understand but Ivy was getting on my nerves, one minute she's normal and the next she done lost her mind. I wonder what's going to happen, is she going too stay on earth or go back with Bast.
So much excitement and angst in this one. Ivy was a little annoying but i get her need to help her sister, despite all the unnecessary trouble along the way. I'm excited to see how this turns out. They are caught in an impossible situation.
Ivy is the character I have disliked from book one. I loathed her all the way through this book. I was hoping Bast would drop her and get with one of the Rakesh females, but oh well. Series is still good with good amount of mystery and suspense.
I absolutely adored this series! It was my first foray into alien romance, and it exceeded all my expectations. The blend of humor, steamy moments, and captivating storytelling kept me thoroughly entertained. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the thrilling world of alien romance!
This was really good! Wasn’t expecting a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next one. I hope the sister makes it through and they are able to go back to Rakesh.
That ending omg it has my nerves bad because who is the snitch I just must know because whew!! That’s all I can say is whew!! I wanted to slap sense into Bast and Ivy both!
