Michael Olin is a failed author who was once fated to strike it big. The years have been overtaken by toil; an unexpected child had forced him into teaching. Despite his fragile finances, he's been saving for years to give his family a dream vacation, a couple weeks at no other than the Brightmark Hotel, in Denver Colorado. It seemed like he was destined for an early grave, everything around him crumbling into the chamber of a crematorium. The Brightmark is what's supposed to bring him back to the good graces of creativity and renew the chance of becoming the author everyone thought he would one day be.
