L'art de la guerre russe: Comment l'Occident a conduit l'Ukraine à l'échec

Rate this book

Mediocracy Rules

I came across Jacques on uTube and followed him since. Unlike many of my friends who I’ve now lost, due to their ignorance of the situation in Ukraine and their willingness to follow our western mediocre politicians & fake news journalists (Boris Johnson sums them all up and was both) Jacques has a crystal clear view of what’s really going on in Ukraine. The world would be a better place if the people would stop listening to these failed politicians and journalists, but like all their failed previous wars eventually the truth superbly told in this book, will eventually come out. Well done Jacques!! Keep up the good work.

The author made a well documented and detailed analysis of this war. If you want to know what is what and who is who read this book.

Very technical and thank G*d very well argued.
Found this a WORLD SHATTERING EXPERIENCE, I suspected that the narrative (and ‘narrative’ is very kind word to use) being fed to us was/is distortion of what really is going on… alas, we are being fed BS… and that isn’t the worst part, those responsible for this conflict started TO BELIEVE THEIR OWN LIES AND DISTORTIONS!
I would recommend anyone to read this, and be prepared to question ALL NARRATIVE out of Ukraine… if you are in Australia and read the Sydney Morning Herald’s Mike Ryan analysis on the front, it will give you diarrhoea… I cannot fathom that a retired Army officer could have so little regard for truth and self respect…

Baud is methodical and cold, refreshingly so, given it's hard to find honest, objective journalism or analysis on this particular topic. At times I thought, "Was this written by a robot?" Very textbook-like, but not overwhelming or hard to follow.

The books strongest feature is its contextualisation of complex geopolitical maneuvers and military strategies without getting too lost in jargon or bias. His analysis of military decisions—what worked, what failed, and why—offers a nuanced look into a conflict often clouded by a propaganda, subjective ramblings and outright disinformation.

Another key strength of the book is the dissection of Western media narratives surrounding the Ukraine-Russia war. Baud highlights contradictions between US, Ukrainian, and European reporting, demonstrating how western media outlets shape their stories, or promote outright disinformation, to fit political agendas rather than accounting for on-the-ground realities (often disregarding on-the-ground feedback by Ukrainian officials -"thank you for your sacrifice" bows a US idealist somewhere...). Bauds analysis underscores the dangers of selective reporting, misinterpretation, misrepresentation, and omission - primarily spearheaded by the Western media coverage, - in which, according to Baud, is what ultimately led to Ukraines demilitarisation, and will be a critical contributor to its defeat, or worse-case, escalation to MAD in Europe (????).

Absolutely spot on! As Bulgarian I am a fluent Russian speaker, but Colonel Baud's analysis outscores most of the Russians! I bow deeply to the author! God help him in his dire times in Brussels.
