Allen Carr's Easyway method is a global phenomenon - a clinically proven and 100% drug-free treatment for nicotine addiction. First used as an internationally renowned and incredibly successful stop-smoking method, this cutting-edge approach now addresses the fastest-growing nicotine delivery system in the world, vaping.
The Easyway method tackles addiction from an entirely different angle. Rather than employing scare-tactics and enforcing painful restrictions on your vaping habits, it unravels the cognitive brainwashing behind your addictive behaviour. In this way, it removes the desire to vape altogether without willpower or sacrifice.
Whether you use e-cigarettes, JUUL, tanks or pens, or any kind of mod or pod, this method will work for you. All you have to do is read this book in its entirety, follow all of the instructions and you will be set free from your addiction to nicotine.
• Does not rely on willpower, aids, substitutes, or gimmicks • Works without unpleasant withdrawal symptoms • Clinically proven to be AT LEAST as effective as the UK Health Service's Gold Standard Stop Smoking Service.
What people say about Allen Carr's Easyway method:
"His skill is in removing the psychological dependence." The Sunday Times
"It was such a revelation that instantly I was freed from my addiction." Sir Anthony Hopkins
"Allen Carr achieved what I never thought was possible - to give up a thirty year habit literally overnight" Anjelica Huston
Allen Carr was a British author and the founder of the global Allen Carr’s Easyway method, renowned for helping millions overcome smoking and other addictions. Born in Putney, London in 1934, Carr began smoking at 18 during National Service and struggled with the habit for over three decades. A qualified accountant, he finally quit in 1983 following a revelatory visit to a hypnotherapist. The experience didn’t directly cause him to quit, but it led to two key insights: that smoking was simply a form of nicotine addiction, and that withdrawal symptoms were minor and psychological in nature. These revelations inspired Carr to develop a revolutionary approach to quitting, one that did not rely on willpower, scare tactics, or substitution therapies. Carr’s philosophy centered on removing the smoker’s fear of giving up. He argued that smoking merely relieves withdrawal symptoms from the previous cigarette, and that the supposed satisfaction gained is merely a return to the non-smoker’s normal state. Through live seminars, books, and multimedia resources, the Easyway method encourages smokers to continue smoking while they reframe their beliefs, ultimately extinguishing their final cigarette with clarity and confidence. In 1985, Carr published The Easy Way to Stop Smoking, which became a bestseller and was translated into more than 45 languages. The success of his London clinic led to the establishment of over 100 Easyway centers in 35 countries, offering seminars to treat smoking, alcohol dependency, sugar addiction, and even fear of flying. His method’s credibility was bolstered by independent clinical trials, including studies in Ireland and the UK which found it as effective—if not more so—than standard cessation methods. This led to its adoption by NHS-approved services in England. A key element of the Easyway clinics is that all facilitators are former addicts who successfully quit using the method themselves. They must complete extensive training and become licensed members of the Association of Allen Carr Therapists International. Throughout his career, Carr also co-authored a wide range of Easyway books addressing various addictions and behavioral issues, often collaborating with Robin Hayley and John C. Dicey, the current Chairman and Global CEO of Allen Carr’s Easyway. Dicey, whom Carr mentored, continues to lead the organization’s development and public outreach. Carr died of lung cancer in 2006 at age 72, though he had not smoked for 23 years. He attributed his illness to second-hand smoke exposure during seminars. Before his death, he remained committed to his mission, challenging governmental ties to nicotine replacement industries and advocating for wider access to his method. Carr’s legacy continues through his clinics, books, and online programs, which have reached over 50 million people worldwide. His message remains consistent: quitting is not a sacrifice—it’s liberation.
Based on the high ratings the book has had a positive impact on others, but for me the oft repeated phrases, and corny advice was not something that resonated with me.
I did stop smoking but I had to time my quitting with moving to Portugal, where I have absolutely no idea where to buy vapes or even cigarettes.
I will admit that for the first few days I was enthusiastically following around smokers on the street to get a little bit of second hand smoke, but its getting better :-)
I think the best twenty one dollars I’ve spent this year have been on this audiobook. Started on Tuesday evening, and finished through the day yesterday. One last puff from my vape (and what a hollow sensation it was once I’d had this book’s epiphanies) before throwing it out at the end of the book and haven’t had the faintest desire to look back, ready to get back to a life where nicotine isn’t sapping my energy and lifeforce through every moment of every days. I’m ready to start seeing what goals a naturally fuelled self can reach. Thank you so much to Allen Carr’s team for this book, I already feel positive in a way giving nicotine up hasn’t made me feel before!
It’s not been something I’ve been proud of admitting to people that I was having regularly, but I think I’d also swept under the reality of how much of a problem I’d allowed it to become for myself. There’s no safe limit to nicotine, there’s no casual vaper that can stay that way. I’m really grateful that this helped me realise what a slave I was becoming to it and find a perspective to break the cycle with. Definitely recommend Allen Carr’s Easyway method for any substance abuse issues people are having, it looks like he’s got books on so many different addictions.
It just worked...I'll say that much. And it's the most important part of the whole thing. I read the whole thing in one day, and have not even had a real urge to vape ever since. I've tried to quit before and every second was agony trying to use willpower to not vape. But I read this book at the beginning of January, and I can honestly cross "quit vaping" off of my list of new years resolutions, cause I have no doubts that I will "slip up" or go back to nicotine in any way. And that's really freeing. Now I'm freed up to focus on the next goal.
I listened to this book over the course of two days last week. Fun, well not so fun, fact about me is that I made a stupid decision at 17ish years old (5.5 years ago) and I was finally over it. I had tried to quit before but it never stuck for more than 3 days. I kept seeing this book pop up on my Tiktok so I thought I'd give it a shot since I wanted to be done and I hated everything about it. I am so excited to say that it has been a week free of vaping! I still have some cravings that the book claimed I wouldn't have, but I am hoping that after another week or so, I begin to think about it all less.
UPDATE: It has been over two months and I have not vaped! For those going through the process, I would say cravings really dialed down just after a month.
I was a really heavy vaper, couldn’t go a minute without vaping, so I decided to read the book, and I didn’t really think it would work, like I couldn’t fathom not vaping, but I gave the book a shot. As I got deeper into the book the less of an addict I became, and when I finally finished the book; I felt like a billion dollars. I no longer rely on some nasty vape pen to feel satisfaction. Because the book changes everything you know about nicotine. It’s a must read for anyone who wants to quit!!!
This book is so overrated. I really wonder how many readers, who read this book and gave it a high rating, are full on back to vaping and nicotine months later. Some are already editing their reviews months later as it didn’t do anything for them long term.
First of all, I absolutely dislike books where the author/authors are praising themselves, their methods, and their products in their books (shout out to Jack Canfield who is promoting and is trying to sell his son’s CD’s and music records in one of his books). That happened here as well, the authors are praising their “Easyway” method in literally every other chapter. I mean, why? Let the readers judge on their own how good your method actually is and whether it works.
Second of all, I didn’t like how this book was written. It’s all over the place, repetitive, boring.
If you don’t have a strong personal reason to quit vaping or nicotine for good, such as improving your health, being a better example to your kids or regaining your life and energy back, this book won’t help you much. It’s good as an additional tool to help you cope during the first days maybe but don’t expect miracles. This book alone won’t turn you into a non-vaper.
I gave it an additional star as it’s such an important subject, especially as we see more and more kids vaping around nowadays and we need to raise awareness, but personally, this book did not live up to the hype for me.
On Friday 24th May 2024, when I woke up, I vaped. Just as I did every morning before that for the past 3 years. This morning, on Sunday 26th May 2024, I have not vaped. In fact, I have not vaped for the past 36 hours. I feel no loss, no craving. I feel overjoyed and accomplished.
listened to the audiobook because i couldn’t see myself reading this. it was very helpful but don’t know if i agreed that there were “no physical withdrawals” when quitting nicotine. Because damn , there are lol. overall easy to access, simple, and effective 💋💋💋💋💋
i did it! i think this pissed me off sometimes because it read me to filth.. but it truly was annoying sometimes too, especially on audible. BUT it gave me a lot of good ideas to remind myself and stuff i've already shared with others, so it definitely rewired my brain a bit.
I thought this book was fantastic. I had my first cigarette when I was around 13 years old and became an addict at 15. Then, vaping had become a phenomenon and I started vaping when I was 17 or so. I remember being in class at my school just vaping, and trying to do things like "tornadoes" on the desk. Vaping had helped me quit smoking, but I remained a nicotine addict. I have tried quitting on two separate occasions via what I know now to be "the willpower method", and in the week or so where I had quit I found that I was extremely irritable, constantly hungry, and just not happy.
Allen Carr's Easy Way challenged what I had known about nicotine and nicotine addiction. Nicotine is highly addictive, but also very fast acting. The half-life of nicotine is around 2 hours. I thought nicotine withdrawal lasted weeks, months, or even years. I thought this to be true because I have heard people who had quit successfully continue to crave the drug after a long, long time. In reality though, most of the nicotine is out of their body within a couple of days.
Why do we vape? Because it calms us down, it makes us happy when we're sad, it makes us deal with social situations, it helps us cope with loss and hardships, it makes a "happy moment" even better. Bullshit. All of it. We vape because we are nicotine addicts. Our urge to hit a vape or cigarette is nothing more than us satisfying the withdrawal from the previous hit. We vape because we are vapers. Nicotine does absolutely nothing for you except satisfy the withdrawal from the previous dose of nicotine.
This is the easy way method. If you change your mindset about why you vape, and realize you are caught in a nicotine trap, quitting is easy. You just have to deal with 1-2 days of physical nicotine withdrawal, which is extremely mild (smokers and vapors experience withdrawals everyday and every night of their nicotine-addicted lives), and then: freedom. Once you realize vaping does absolutely nothing for you, there is no longer anguish, longing for, or desire for another dose of nicotine. You are free.
I took my final dose of nicotine as I ready the last chapter, and I am free. I look forward to a life where I am no longer a slave to the nicotine. A life where I can enjoy the good times purely for what they are - good times - instead of thinking "man a vape would make this moment better". Similarly, I can now deal with the hardships and struggles of life without the added stress of "GIVE ME MORE NICOTINE".
10/10. Highly recommend for those caught in the nicotine trap.

I wanted to wait 6 months of not vaping before I left a review to say it worked (!). But this book genuinely changed my life and finally helped me escape the nicotine cycle once at for all. It really did feel easy to quit too, I genuinely haven’t looked back since I listened to it. Yes - it can be a little repetitive at times but I think it’s just to hammer the key messages home… if you trust the process from start to finish it really works - and I am so much better for it!
