Melissa had a difficult time speaking as a child, and thus writing became her best friend. There she learned the power of emotion, how to communicate heartbreak, sadness, tragedy, and still hope for something better: the happy ever after.
She loves to write imperfect, possessive heroes, that will risk their lives for those they love, strong heroines that can hold their own, and steamy scenes that grab you by the throat and bring you to your knees.
Melissa lives in a small town off the coast of Egypt, and is a huge mythology buff, with a love of all things magical, supernatural, paranormal, and steeped in lore and fantasy. When she is not writing Melissa can be found singing and dancing her heart out, or up, late at night, contemplating space and the universe with a large cup of tea.

I was swooned reading this book. 3 different couples with different stories. I got to read a out their struggles, the pain that they were experiencing. Each couples have their own charm that will definitely attract lots of readers. Although there were parts that was really disturbing specially Johanna's and Erik's so that's a warning for the readers. The spice in this book is definitely worth the read 😌. The overall plot that connects the books together is well written, really something worth reading.
🌸 Recieved a copy from the author but all thoughts and opinions are my own
I really really wanted to like this collection. I love fantasy romance with minimal worldbuilding, immortal found families are wonderful, and I adore interconnected romance series. Alas, The Vampire Wars was just too good to be true. My main issue with all of these books is that they start in the middle of the story. Especially in the first two novels, the audience was introduced to the couples after they had already fallen in love. My favorite part of romances is the slowburn and the banter and the time characters spend getting to know each other. That was non-existent in this entire book. I was never given a reason to care about any couple because I didn't watch them work for their relationship; it was insta-love followed by declarations of love and no conflict. Speaking of which, this series barely had any conflict. You don't need a grand external plot to be interesting, but none of the couples fought or had conflict---the collection was 600 pages of poorly developed backstory connected by conversations that never ended. As for the smut, it was fine: not good, not bad, just fine.
The romances themselves were rather healthy, especially for fantasy romance, but because I didn't get to watch them develop, they weren't swoonworthy. I would've adored Luke and Johanna's relationship if the author actually showed its development, but since I was missing the spark, I couldn't fall in love. All the romances were missing the spark; I never believed that the characters had a reason to be in love. That's forgivable when there is a plot outside the relationship, but that's not the case in this series. Personally, book three was my favorite and I would've given it three stars, but since the first two novels were two stars, the whole collection will receive two stars.
An e-ARC was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.
Night shade: Daniella has always felt something deep for her boss Gregori but has never acted on it. He has to reveal his secrets and his siblings when she is in danger from their world. Greg must tell her he is an old and very important vampire and they are at war with one who has used her. His protection has meant keeping her oblivious to everything they have felt for years and that he is her fated mate. She is not your average human and she must gather the courage to join the fight.. Will they be able to enjoy their bond and survive a wicked plan?
Night fury: Like has always had something inside of him that craved Johanna but a mate bond never happened. When she is used by the enemy to destroy him and his family, the mate bond is awakened before she is snatched from his grasp. When she teleports to him in her dying state and he heals her with the help of Mya, she feels so much guilt and pain with what she has done. The return of her memories haunt her and break her meaning that Luke may not be able to save his mate's sanity like he did her body. This may leave them weakened to the enemies plots.. Who will save who?
Night fall: Mya has struggled with misery for centuries believing the mate she couldn't have was dead. In her devastation she wished to join him in death and a wedge between her family was caused by it. Discovering he never died and was captured by the enemy has her scouring everywhere for the one who was her heart and soul. She must find him before anyone manages to extinguish his life for real and with it end hers.
This was a fascinating trilogy that pulls you into the main character's heads, fears, doubts, pains and pleasures. Each book has a flurry of emotions ready to attack you like a swarm of bats and enough passion to make you wish you were the leading main. Each character in their own right has a fairly tragic story or past pain that instantly warms you to their continuing struggle. This is what makes the reader wish that mate bonds were real in this magical way that cannot be undone except by death and sometimes not even then. It was a truly emotional roller coaster that has a strong overall plot and many strengthened players to add to its appeal.

The Vampire Wars Box Set Rating: 5 Stars Three beautiful, swoon-worthy, heart-wrenching romances. These were beautiful, dark, and emotional to read. I would recommend them to anyone who likes dark fantasy romance. Book 1: Night Shade Daniella and Gregori A swoon-worthy romance between an ancient CEO vampire and his young, savvy coworker. This was such a fun romance to read. I love that Daniella is tough in her own right, and it is fun to watch Gregori, an ancient vampire, fall for her. Their chemistry is sizzling. My only complaint is that the story started after they had known each other for a while and were already friends. I wish there was some more development or at least a time jump to show things when they first met. They fell for each other quickly, but overall, I loved this story. Book 2: Night Fury Luke and Johanna This was a romance that came with a lot of baggage. Johanna went through a lot, and she had a lot of brokenness. It was beautiful to see her heal with Luke and see them overcome the pain and hardship. It was an emotional rollercoaster seeing Johanna overcome all the darkness and find healing. Book 3: Night Fall Erik and Mya This was by far my favorite of the three stories. There was so much pain, angst, and history- after all, it was a romance that lasted CENTURIES. It was so beautiful and heart-wrenching to see Erik and Mya fall in love gradually over hundreds of years, and this story actually made me quite emotional. It had so much depth, and this romance blew me away. I won’t forget it. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves angsty, dark, beautiful romance.
I enjoyed all 3 stories, but I would rank my enjoyment of these 3 stories in the following order: 1) Night Fall 2) Night Shade 3) Night Fury Note: I received a free arc, but this review is voluntary and entirely my honest opinion of the book.
3.5 - rounded up to 4 I am struggling with how to rate this one. I think it was beautifully written. Across all three stories it had a haunting, gothic vibe that really sets the tone for the vampire action and it is well suited to the subject matter. That being said, sometimes I was confused by the timeline and the abilities everyone had. It would have been interesting to see a duet for each couple to give them all some more space to develop.
When the first page of a book is a sex scene you have my attention. Greg and Daniella’s story was so sweet and passionate, but I don’t know if they were for me? I preferred the other couples who had a little more struggle to find their groove with one another. There was lots of spice and it was well done, but some of that sexual tension was just missing for me and I think it was intentional just because of the nature of vampires.
My favourite thing about this read was the badass women at the heart of each story and how they overcome all of their challenges and embrace their powers to help their loved ones. My biggest pet peeve is the name. The war is happening in the background and definitely drives the story, but it takes a backseat to the love stories. I would have loved some more fighting and gore with a name like “The Vampire War.”
I can really see why people would love this book and I REALLY wanted to. I think this goes back to me not hopping on the Twilight bandwagon when that was the big vampire story so maybe I should stick to demon fantasy and serial killer romances.
I received an ARC of this book; thoughts are my own.
You know this feeling when you accidentally skip a few episodes of a series you are watching? Or this feeling of skipping a few sentences and not being sure how the story progressed so fast? This is how this book feels. It feels like you accidentally pressed the fast forward button all the time while reading.
Don't misunderstand me: The story that is told in this first book isn't bad. It just feels like it's far too fast-paced for its own good with a lot of scenes missing.
Book 2: Night Fury 3.5/4 stars
This is where it starts to get better. The chemistry and relationship progression between these two characters felt far more logical and the feeling of a few scenes just missing was also not as bad. However, imo there could've still been some more scenes to flesh out the story and develop all the plot surrounding the main couple.
Book 3: Night Fall - 4/5 stars
Night Fall is the grand finale of this trilogy - and also the best one by far. Reading Myas and Eriks story was super interesting and heartbreaking at times. The story of them gets teased all the time during the 2nd book so by the time you end up here you are invested. Also, the 3rd book was far more fleshed out then the other two books with a lot more scenes and didn't feel rushed like the other two books. Sadly the plot that surrounds the romance in this book still suffers from being connected to the first and second book and still feels a bit lackluster.

Three stories. Fated Mates. Fantasy mixed with the modern world Spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Strong females Supportive males Heed TWs
I am going to do my best with this review. I enjoyed this 3 in 1. I received this as an ARC-the books themselves were published in July23. I appreciated the continuation once one book ended and the next started. What I liked about them all being together is that I was able to easily continue on. I didn’t want to put the story down.
🧛🏽♂️Greg and Daniella’s story is book one. 🧛🏽♂️Luke and Johanna’s story is book two. 🧛🏽♂️Erik and Mya’s story is book three.
They are all interconnected one way or another. Through familial ties or work. The first story has different take on the lovers. They already know each other. Have worked together. And have crazy chemistry. It does move fast so be prepared.
Book two is a very caring, supportive story. Lots of healing takes place. There are moments of struggle, chaos, and growth. Both Luke and Johanna have to figure things out for themselves and for their relationship.
Book three takes you back. Gives you further background information. You may have already guessed things from book 2 (and maybe 1). But the third book fills in the missing pieces.
Every character had strong suits. They also had points of face palms. But overall I enjoyed this trilogy. I received this as an ARC for free from BookSirens and leave this review voluntarily.
This review has been edited (I needed to make a few changes but my opinion is still the same!)
Out of the many Dark romances I've read, I definitely enjoyed this one. I did really enjoy the complexity of the couples relationships, their hardships and emotions. I will admit I did struggle with the second book, Erik and Johannas. It took me a little to pick it back up after I closed it the first time but once I got past my initial struggle I definitely devoured it and the third.
I really loved the word and the storyline and how each story connected to one another. It flowed very nicely and the author's style was excellent. Especially with the spice levels of the book. There is a trigger warning for those reading!! However if you like Fast paced dark romances with vampires, magic, and witches definitely check this collection out!!
Overall I really enjoyed the collection and I would love more from this author. I give it 4 stars!

This book contains three stories. While there is an overarching storyline, each story focuses on one couple:
• Book 1 is Daniella and Gregori’s story. • Book 2 is Johanna and Luke. • Book 3 is Mya and Erik.
This author has built an amazing world full of vampires, witches, and humans. There is action, smexy times, second chance romance, and darker themes. I could not get enough of these stories. Even though Johanna and Luke’s story was my favorite, the other two were just as good.
The author has an easy-to-read writing style and will keep your interest until the last page of Book 3. The darker themes are not over the top and play a role in advancing the story. I loved how the author had characters who were not as they seemed. While bad guys stayed bad guys, some characters who you were led to believe were bad, were victims and did what they could to survive. Again, this added another layer of depth to these stories.
If you love vampires and witches with lots of action, this book is for you.
The Vampire War contains the first three books in the Chronicles of The Otherworld series. Enjoy over 600 pages of strong magical heroines and their protective vampire mates that will ruin anyone who tries to touch them, as well as never before published bonus scenes. Each of these novels are interconnected one way or another either through family ties or work.
The first story has different connection between the lovers. Here they already know each other. They have worked together. They have chemistry and it moves quickly.
The seond novel in the series demonstrates a very caring, supportive story. Here a lots of healing occurs. There are moments of struggle, chaos, and growth.
Book three takes you back towards the beginning. It gives you additional background. The third book fills in the missing pieces.
A series to be enjoyed. I received this series from StoryOrigin. This is my true and honest opinion.
First of all, this is not at all a bad series, it is beautifully written. I really enjoyed how all three stories had a gothic vibe that pulled them together and made them like one big story. What I have a problem with is a couple of them felt like we did not get all of the story. We are sort thrown into the middle of things and don't get the build up to the new relationship that I was hoping to enjoy. The other issue I had with the overall story was that none of the couples seemed to have any sort of conflict in the romance! Yes, they had personal conflicts to share with the others, but the couples seemed almost to good to be true. While this one was not a favorite in the couples stories, I really did enjoy the overall story and will be reading some other works by this author. This ARC was given to me for a honest review and I am very glad that I tried it!
The Vampire War by Melissa Cummins is the one-stop shop for her thrilling vampire series that consists of books 1 through 3, Night Shade, Night Fury, and Night Fall. Each story highlights a different couple and the struggles they endure with fated mates, strong females, and their strong supportive mates. Greg and Daniella's story is book one, Luke and Johanna's story is book two, and Erik and Mya's story is book three. I love the gothic haunting vibe we get with each story, brings the old vampire feel to the story. With three different stories in one read you are able to connect the dots and find that they are connected in one way or another. This was a great read, I enjoyedcanout each couple, their struggles, healing and enjoyable life.
It's a very good series, the 2nd and 3rd book were amazing compared to the first one. The first book sort of felt like a retelling of The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness) and it was very rushed.
The main protagonist just instantly falls in love which I feel like could have been a better plot line, again the book feels very rushed.
Regardless of the first book the next two in the series were very well written, they were rushed but the plot especially of the 3rd book is amazing I honestly loved it and I'm all for lost love reuniting.
I do feel like if the first book (which sort of should be the main book of the trilogy) was written well, less rushed and had a better way to lay the plot it would have gotten the entire series a 5 star.
The third story (Mya and Erik), saved this series. I had a hard time with the first two because they were very fast paced and I didn’t find that a lot of attention to detail was obvious in the writing. It felt like the plot was compiled and written in a short amount of time, and there were parts in the stories that could’ve been expanded on which would have bumped up my rating. I liked how the third story was the longest one, which gave a lot more time for character progression and better insight into both characters. I was confused when the POVs would switch mid-chapter and I struggled with some of the organization. These are good quick reads if you’re okay with okay plots, decent characters, and alright world-building.
If you are looking for a book with badass fmc, possessive mmcs, vampires and witches, elemental magic, telepathic magic, healing magic and mate bonds, this is the book for you! I loved how quickly it jumped into the story, there was world building but not thrown at you all at once. I was a little lost the first time the POV changed because its in 3rd person, that may just be a personal thing though. It was super easy to connect to the characters and the authors writing is beautiful. This is a collection of three different stories and I devoured all of them. I was gratefully gifted this ARC to read and review and I absolutely loved it!!
Who would have thought there is a whole vampire kingdom hidden in out world? The Vampire War series opens up the secret world of vampires and the power struggles within. Covering three installments, The Vampire War brings fated mates together, tears a family apart, and brings so many twists and turns that you won't know what happens next.
I really enjoyed reading The Vampire War. The introduction to the world is great and the twist in the last book was my favorite. I do feel that the romance plot was copy-paste, I do wish each one was a little more special.
I loved reading this book! Three couples with completely different circumstances (and difficulties to overcome), in a well written and developed World, with an interesting storyline, connecting their stories. I loved the romance and the spice, it was a fun read. Trigger warning, Johanna's and Erik's story comes with some very difficult reading.
It's a well written and engaging book, totally recmmend. Worth reading.
I recieved an ARC from the author (through StoryOrigin) but this review reflects my honest opinion of the book
I give the whole box set a solid 4 stars! I absolutely love the couples together. Though, for me, the first couple I didn't like the insta love. For me, even though they had history, I, as a reader, didn't get a history. So, for me, it was too quick. I wanted more tension and more development. The story, too, was a bit confusing. The next two books blew me away! I loved it all! I really like this box set and it is worth the read. Each story is pretty short, under 300 pages, and so fast paced. I wasn't bored and I think that is most important.
The Vampire War box set includes the three books of the series and is a blast of vampire fresh air as each couples story of adventure, love, family, intrigue, and passion lights up the pages. I have read each book separately in the past but now having them all together in one set is an alpha melting thrill.
Night Shade (Gregori & Daniella) Night Fury (Luke & Johanna) Night Fall (Erik & Mya)
Paranormal Romance lovers rejoice!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was such a fun set of books to read. It was dark, edgy and complex.
Over 600 pages following 3 couples- Grey and Daniella, Luke and Johanna, Erik and Mya.
Enjoyed how when one booked ended the next would start right up. Fun to just be able to flip the page and start the next couples story. All are intertwined but still their own story.
Sexy vampires is always a win in my book and this one sure didn't drop the ball!
Spice level is a 3.5 to 4 overall the books 🤤🫠
4 out of 5 stars.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this book. It followed the stores of 3 different couples in finding their immortal mates, all the while dealing with a war between blood witches and other immortal creatures.
It is a very fast-paced story filled with love, war, sorrow, heartbreak, magic abilities of all kinds and hope.
All the stories are interconnected with lovely characters that follow through all 3 books. There are spicy scenes throughout all the books, but heavier in the 2nd and 3rd books. Lovely read.
I love it when the book starts off just so steamy! It grasps your attention from the start and it doesn’t end there, it continues through out the series. You get so much of it.
All three stories were unique. You got experience three different stories in one whole book and what made it amazing is, they were all so different from each other. You learned about these characters and saw between the pages. There was growth amongst the characters and some took you for a spin.
One of the stories did have a touchy feeling. It was a bit more sensitive than the other two.
This is a three-book box that follows different couples, but the stories are intertwined. The fact that you have all the books is great because once you start, you don't want to put it down, and this way, you can continue the stories. I love a good vampire story, and these books are great. The characters are believable, and the fated mates are instant.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I LOVE vampire romances, and I loved this series. The three stories you get in this collection are so beautifully written that you get sucked into their world and want to get to know all of the couples. The stories are amazing. The books are emotional and you will see all of the struggles the couples went through to be together at the end. It's a great collection of dark romance books that will leave you wanting more.
I liked the premise, vampires having mates, multiple story lines moving through, overlapping to reach a conclusion. Night Shade felt like I was missing pieces of the story, a few bits felt forced; then in Night Fury I loved Johanna and Luke, I liked their achieved powers but again some pieces felt overused; Night Fall was my favorite of the three, the author seemed to better their stride by end of series. I received anARC copy of this book. Thank you sharing them with me!
I've read other books by Melissa, and loved them all so when i saw this available I couldn't help but download IMMEDIATELY! The series spans 3 books: Night Shade, Night Fall, and Night Fury and while I loved all 3, my favorite was Night Fury. Luke and Johanna's sorry pulled so many emotions and had so many hardships and twists and turns in their relationship.
I'd rate this a spice level of 4! Spicy vampires forever, please.
The Vampire War contains the first three books in the Chronicles of The Otherworld series. I love all of them. Each of the three books has a different couple and tells its own story. Every couple is special in their own way. But all the books are still linked together in a very good writing style. These books are for anyone who loves vampires and fated mates.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Overall, I enjoyed these books. Each book was from a different person's perspective, so that was something I had to get used to, but they were a good read. I did like that there were twists in the plot, and it wasn't super predictable for it all. My favorite was the first book. I would rate just that book alone 4 or 4.5 stars. The other books were good, but not as good as the first one. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a great boxed set filled with books 1-3 of a series that will keep you coming back for more. The character work and story line of each book was well written. I look forward to my next adventure with this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked this fast-paced vampire collection of books. It includes #1) Night Shade, #2) Night Fury, and #3) Night Fall. It’s a dark romance fantasy with fated mates, what’s there not to love? It was a little repetitive in some parts but because the pace was fast it was hardly noticeable. 3 out of 5 stars.
