Sacking the Enemy

How can I despise a guy so much when all I can think about is tearing off his clothes ? Kyle Kline assumes everyone worships him and his football career, but I am a medical professional and couldn’t care less who he is. Patients are strictly off limits, at least that is what I have to keep telling myself when I see the bulge in his pants. I am determined to resist his attempts to get me all to himself, but when he offers me the chance to get lifesaving medical treatment for my mom, I can’t turn him down. He has me all to himself now with one-on-one care for his career changing injury. He taunts me in all of our sessions until I relieve his throbbing ache in more ways than one. Is this all just another game to him? I fear I am going to be the one who loses in the end.

Kyle and Lizzy first meet when he abruptly calls her to come to his office to treat him. As a professional football player, he's used to having people fall all over themselves to do his bidding. Well, Lizzy isn't going to take his attitude without giving a little of hers back so they don't get along at all at first. Lizzy is the best therapist, so Kyle tries to make nice with her. He makes an appointment at her office and again asks her to come and work with him. Lizzy doesn't want to give up her practice to just treat Kyle and she tells him so. She does treat him that day, though, and when he realizes how good his leg feels, he knows he has to get her to work with him somehow. I don't want to give away the lengths that he goes to, but it gets pretty wild. When the two of them end up working together, how long before they give in to the attraction between them as well?

I thought this was a fun read. Kyle is pretty arrogant and expects everyone to drop everything when he snaps his fingers and is convinced that everyone has a price. Until he meets Lizzy. Lizzy does not give him any preferential treatment which infuriates him. However Kyle ends getting getting his way ash he finds out where Lizzy’s weakness is and offers to help. Though I didn’t really like Kyle initially, he’s actually quite a nice guy despite his arrogance.

I received a free advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest review.

I don't believe I've come across a male lead I dislike from time to time. Usually, if I hate, I hate throughout the story. Kyle has some good points to him, generally, he is a good guy. But his spoiled mindset, and the mindset of thinking money solves everything, is a little rough.

However, I still loved to see the interactions between Kyle and Lizzy. They did make a cute couple that made me smile overall as I read on! And some of those scenes, damn!
