Hearts on Thin Ice

Rate this book
A pro hockey player falls for an interior designer in this charming debut sports romance. This flirty workplace rom-com explores mental health, belonging, and finding your way in the world.

Nick Sorensen had once been one of the fastest men in hockey—until the devastating plane crash that took the lives of his best friends, leaving him the only survivor. Now he’s physically ready to get back on the ice, but his coach is concerned Nick isn’t doing as well, mentally, as he says he is. Case in Nick’s apartment is completely empty, apart from a single chair and a mattress on the floor.

To prove he’s fine, really, Nick hires Alyssa Compton, an up-and-coming interior designer, to decorate his space. Alyssa’s thrilled at the chance to prove herself to her demanding boss—with job security at last, maybe she can finally put down roots and create a home for herself too. But Nick turns out to be infuriatingly stubborn and impossible to work with, and just when Alyssa decides to throw in the towel on the whole thing, Nick shows up for her in a way she never could have expected.

The icy path ahead of these two lost souls may be slippery and cracking, but when it comes to love, sometimes all you need is someone on your team.

Spicy Level: 🌶️🌶️.5/5

You know how books are called devious because they are cute cartoon covers and then inside they are the dirtiest smut??? THIS IS ALMOST LIKE THIS.... but instead of smut, we get pain and sadness and just HEAVY... It's almost deceptive and not in the way I like. I think why this hit so hard is because it was VERY emotionally heavy, and since I normally don't typically read such emotional books, I was not prepared. I wanted to go into something light-hearted. I wanted to go into something that was going to be a sweet, almost fluffy romance. And while there are elements of sweet and fluffy, they are heavily shadowed by the trauma our characters need to work through.

Nick Sorensen is an NHL player who is returning to the game after a tragic plane crash killed six of his closest friends and teammates, leaving him the only one to survive the crash. Having been dropped by his former team, he's now been picked up by another; so he is dealing with the trauma of survivor's guilt, the loss of his previous life; as well as having lost his best friend and roommate. He is struggling to re-assimilate into a new life that requires him to move on. Something he is not ready for.

Then we have Alyssa Compton, who is dealing with her own childhood trauma. She's tried to turn her life around by becoming an interior designer for the worst person on the planet - however, mostly doesn't let this get her down. Her friend (and client) happens to be married to Nick's teammate. Nick's coach has given him an ultimatum: either he has to decorate his apartment because he's literally living with one chair and basically a cardboard box as a table, or he has to go to therapy. And since spending money on couch cushions is a lot more safe than talking about your feelings Nick hires Alyssa to help him.

My issue with this is I didn't particularly hate it, but I didn't love it either. I felt that for a lot of the novel, she and Nick were constantly almost fighting, at ends with each other, misunderstanding each other or disagreeing. There wasn't really a connection between them or attraction (besides the fact that they were near each other). It was like there was chemistry but NOT ENOUGH. While it was sweet that they developed into friends and that both were able to help each other through their various traumas and emotional conflicts, there was just something missing about their relationship that I didn't see.

Unfortunately, by the time they ended up getting together and realizing that they wanted to be with each other, the book ended. So it was like a tease and then done - where you just had to imagine their love growing deeper. It was also really strange because I listened to this in audio and while this has dual narration it was also in third person. That doesn't make sense to me why you would have two different people speaking when they weren't even really talking from their perspective anyway. It could have just been read by one person because they weren't talking for themselves; they were talking about characters.

I'm not sad I read it; I just think I would have liked it more if it gave me what I was expecting. I imagined that cute, light and fluffy forced proximity of the grumpy hockey player and gorgeous interior designer...and while I got that I got A WHOLE LOT MORE SADNESS. I did like their conversations about art and how that essentially helped them connect and open up to each other. I also liked that she managed to work through her pride with her brother and their issues with their mom. It was sweet...

But overall, they just didn't seem like a forever couple. They seemed like a couple that would get together in passing because they needed to heal and whilst they could eventually end up as a forever couple, we were never shown that.

Tropes:
▶ Forced Proximity
▶ BossXEmployee
▶ Dual POV (But also third person)
▶ Hockey Romance
▶ Trauma Bonding
▶ Found Family

If you are the type of person who LOVES emotionally driven stories about healing grief while also finding romance - this would be perfect for you! Unfortunately, I am not that person so it was a little miss for me...

Thank you so much Dreamscape Media, Netgalley and Katie Kennedy for my gifted audio copy!

DNF at 62% :( I really wanted to love this one—an emotional hockey romance + the FMC is an interior designer? Count me in. But the characters had absolutely zero chemistry, and the third person POV made me feel even more detached from their relationship. There wasn't enough action nor was the plot moving fast enough for my taste. The reason why I pushed through to almost page 200 was because I was interested in Nick and his healing journey.

Nick was one of the faster players in hockey, that is until a plane crash takes the lives of his best friends, leaving him the only survivor.

To prove he’s fine and make-over his apartment with only a single chair and a mattress on the floor, Nick hires Alyssa an interior designer. Alyssa quickly learns that Nick is difficult to work with, and just when she’s about to throw in the towel and give up, Nick shows up for her in a way she didn’t think possible.

This book left me wanting more. I felt that the characters weren’t quite fully developed, and they didn’t really work together. They were kind of at odds and didn’t necessarily need to end up together. I felt that they were lacking chemistry, and I was lacking a connection to them. This book had so many heavy topics that it wasn’t exactly what I look for when I’m trying to find a romcom. I want my romcoms to be lighthearted and carefree with fun characters, and this one didn’t exactly deliver. I’m also not usually a fan of the miscommunication trope, and in this book, I wasn’t a fan, so it was a miss for me. The cover makes it look like a fun hockey romance, but I think that is misleading in a few ways. Hockey wasn’t really the point of this book, and it wasn’t a light read at all. I also struggled with some of the elements of the spice scenes as they felt juvenile and weren’t to my liking at all. On top of everything else, this was a slow burn, so it just made it a slog to get through.

I think that for a debut this book is good. It has a lot of promise, and I can see this author doing great work.

This book has rich characters and engaging side stories, each infused with remarkable depth and complexity. Some moments had me laughing out loud, while others brought tears to my eyes—a true testament to the emotional range the author has skillfully crafted. This is more than your typical fluffy rom-com, and the chemistry is definitely there!

I don't understand some of the poor reviews on this one. I absolutely adored this story. The only reason I am not giving this a five-star rating is that toward the end, I was getting a little frustrated with the back-and-forth, but overall, this one is close to perfection.

Thank you, Net Galley and Alcove Press for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Hearts on This Ice was a nice rom-com with a good dose of unexpected grief in it.
Nick had an unanticipated story, that I found very sad and hard to approach. The author tried to thread carefully, but not always the result was optimal (mine opition obviously). He is grieving and not allowing himself to live at all after a plane accident takes the lives of his teammates and best friends leaving him the only survivor. He goes by with nothing (like literally no furniture in the house), wants nothing, and cares almost just about hockey.
When his coach threatens to make him go to a therapist if he doesn´t have his place redecorated, he decides to ask Alyssa for help.

I did enjoy this book even if sometimes the story was crazy (like the party and the pirate costume?!? A little too much for me).
Generally, I liked the couple and the way they connected. I think it was very cute.
The main problem I had, and why it took me almost a week to finish, when I usually take a day or two for a book like this´s the writing. In some places it was bad. I didn´t know what the author meant and why she decided to write it that way.

1.5 Stars Rounded Up

When you look at this book, you think it’s going to be this cute romance. Maybe add a little bit of spice?! The title makes you wonder how it plays into the story. The synopsis on the back adds to the intrigue….

BUT it falls flat. The characters were very one dimensional. Yes, there was growth but it wasn’t organic growth. Each of the MCs dealt with trauma for different reasons but a lot of the time it was “oh pitiful me”. Now, Nick has a reason to be that way to SOME degree. In this case, it was way overdone by both characters. I’m not trying to dismiss trauma in the slightest. It is just that this book centered around the trauma but it was never really addressed? It’s never talked about on how they overcome it.

The romance between the two was also not believable in the slightest. They had a really weird dynamic and didn’t seem to mesh well together. The story overall didn’t flow very well. It seemed to jump around and conflicts were just randomly solved. And SPOILER ALERT….

That second plane “crash”? It was written very anticlimactically. I almost thought it was a dream Nick was having because it was so poorly written. I hope this book gets a good edit before going to final print.

If you know me, I hate leaving bad reviews. But this book was definitely not for me. There was very little hockey, characters were very one dimensional, and overall the story felt off. It has potential to be a good story but in this case it did not.

Again, these are MY personal feelings and opinions about the book. You may read it and completely disagree and THAT’S OKAY! This is just how I feel regarding this title.

I was not prepared to love this dual POV, sports romance debut with GREAT emotional depth just as much as I did!! Nick Sorenson is the sole survivor of a tragic plane crash and grieving his lost hockey teammates when he is forced to hire an interior decorator to work on his apartment. Enter Alyssa who tries to make over his apartment in a way that Nick is comfortable with only to find herself falling for him. Steamy, swoony and perfect for fans of Hannah Grace and Elle Kennedy, this was great on audio and I can't wait for more! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

I really loved this story and where it was going!

Alyssa is an interior decorator working towards gaining experience before opening her own business. Her passion for turning houses into homes clearly stems from her personal experience of homelessness as a child. She finds herself determined to create a space for a professional hockey player who is struggling to accept any sort of feelings beyond numbness after being the sole survivor of a place crash where all of his closest friends died, while also navigating overcoming his injuries and starting with a new team after being traded.

Nick is struggling with survivors guilt and likely some PTSD. But when Alyssa brings the hockey player/artist to the art museum to find his inspiration and joy again, he finds that he's learning to move forward whether he wants to or not.

We find both Nick and Alyssa trying to push one another until they both seemingly push too far. There is some true miscommunication - which I know many people don't love, but in this it works (at least for me). Once they sort out the communication blunder, they're such a great couple.

Sometimes when the end result of a book is the characters finally getting together officially, it feels like the book is unfinished to me. That was the case with Hearts on Thin Ice. These characters were loveable and I felt deeply impacted by each of their traumas, but it felt like their love story was only getting started and it left me wanting more. I also think their chemistry could be built on. It was there, but it felt like it was still developing and could have used more.

The narration by Scarlett Everdeen and Nick Mondelli was seamless. They both did a wonderful job embodying the characters and portraying even their deeper and more difficult emotions in a believable way.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

The romantic comedy Hearts on Thin Ice, written by Katie Kennedy, centers on hockey captain Nick Sorensen and interior designer Alyssa Compton.

I had high expectations for this book based on its cover and the tropes, but the only thing that made it worthwhile to read was the adorable cover.

I read far more than I ought to have, but only because I thought things might improve, which they didn't. There was far too much information provided, and Nick and Alyssa had no chemistry at all.

Overall, though it’s good that the author talked topics like trauma and anger, the book was mostly focused on these topics and offered very nothing else.

I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)
-m/f contemporary romance
-hockey romance
-fixin up a house
-PTSD rep

This was a soft and lovely romance with heavier elements of grief. Nick is the sole survivor of an airplane crash that killed his teammates and best friends. To try to prove he's mending he needs to fix his apartment into a home. Alyssa is spunky and ready to dive into the project and these two instnatly just conenct. I really enjoyed how they pushed each other but the importance of therapy and just how messy grief was a thread throughout.

This cute hockey romance features our hockey player falling for the interior designer who makes over his place. It was a sweet story with the underlying importance of seeking therapy. I was able to listen to the audiobook while I read along and found the writing to be well structured and easy flowing. The audiobook narration was great too and perfectly clear. This debut book shows a lot of promise. I can't wait to read what Katie Kennedy writes next.

Nick Sorensen is a Hockey player who went through something very traumatic and he is trying his best to navigate a tremendous loss and being the only survivor.
Physically Nick is ready to get back on the ice, but mentally he still not In the best place…
His apartment is completely empty, apart from a single chair and a mattress on the floor.

Alyssa Compton is a talented up-and-coming interior designer, She has a horrible boss and a dream to start her own business one day.
Luckily Alyssa isn’t afraid of a challenge!

The pair meet unexpectedly and with a push from Nicks coach he hires Alyssa to decorate his apartment. At first things are rocky but as they spend more time together, they start to really get to know each other and help each other heal.

I really enjoyed Hearts on Thin Ice, the character development and how it handles some heavy topics but also a sweet romance that will have you laughing out loud!

Man patiko!

EN: I liked! Addicting, it was interesting to read. I liked a lot 🤭 there were also 🔥 scenes. Very serious topics were also touched. I liked the writing style. I liked the theme of friendship. Maybe it was annoying sometimes, the stubbornness of the characters. Because that was what prevented them from getting together, but at least in general, it was a very cute story!😍 #NetGalley

'confident in this. in them. she knew the man, his body—his heart. and oh, did he know her.'
omg the painting reveal part had my heart stop and i wanted to mention that as the very first thing because i was so so moved by it lol. the museums visits were
the writing in the book is mature, demonstrating a deep understanding of language and narrative structure that elevated experiencing the book. it shocked me a little because first of all, i was in it for a cutesy romance with brain numbing fluff but katie catered hurt/comfort in a flow of writing that was intellectually engaging.
that being said, the 'rom' and 'com' elements were lacking. to the point that they sometimes felt forced :( it failed to add the expected charm and lightness to the story. and i'd like to say i was misled by the cover but the excerpt doesn't disclose these underwhelming aspects either

₊˚ nick sorensen ⊹♡.
“you said nobody can go it alone. but that’s what you’re trying to do.”
i understand why nick was utterly done with life and how cruel it was for the universe to push him till that man had nothing to live for and was okay with just 2 pieces of furniture in his house. his story is hard to read because you deeply feel his hurt and his grief alongside him but that is an explanation, not a justification for some for his actions and well... words, that, quite frankly? pissed me tf off.

“you were willing to have sex with me but not let me take you out to dinner.”
... they were trying to work it out and have a 'serious' talk, the whole ordeal obviously, alien to nick.

₊˚ alyssa compton ⊹♡.
pretty sure poor alyssa said no was because he was so rude and eventually got her fucking fired? (i'm aware she's not mad at him for what but fuck it, i am)😭icb she was holding onto the past and then saying stuff like:
“going forward, i mean. it has nothing to do with my life now.”
just felt a little hypocritical.

and like i feel like nick hasn't reached the age maturity for alyssa which is probably why i don't feel like they would last. i feel so bad because i genuinely wanted to like, and if you're someone who can ignore certain elements, this might end up being your next fav read.
i loved alyssa more than nick, pretty obvious now. and i'm happy to know that the book ends at a place where there isn't a guarantee that they are going to end up together. it ends where they kinda find their way back to each other and i love that. she's strong as fuck and i hope won't let nick get away with the problematic shit he pulls.

the miscommunication was done up so nicely omg!! miscommunication tropes are supposed to make you feel frustrated because you know the whole thing and other's don't and the book served in that department.
i won't lie, i don't want to go over the board because this is a debut novel but i felt like there was an integral part missing. there was excessive word jargon and less character development, which is fine but i feel like when you pick up books with a cute cover, you go in with very different expectations maybe i did, i don't know, maybe i am the problem?
i genuinely can't wait to read more works from katie because despite my rant, she is a very amazing upcoming author who after elevating her work and honing the marketing aspect a bit will no question become a bestseller.

thanks to katie kennedy, netgalley and alcove press for the arc.

☆☆/5

₊˚⊹౨ৎ ₊˚⊹

Ok..... What the flip.
Lets start off with the fact with the word "flushed" seemed like it was used every other page throughout about half of the book. It was honestly annoying. I actually ended up setting the book down for a while and came back to it earlier today because i forgot why i stopped reading.
I remember now why i had stopped.
Also Nick and Alyssa had no chemistry. They said they loved eachother and crap but they only had sex and didnt really seem to show any romantic interest. After i managed to get over the first half of the book, it actually picked up a bit. But then... they stopped searching for her gerbil to have sex. Im going to be honest, this weirdly pissed me off. Like I know the author isn't going to kill the gerbil but realistically the gerbil could in fact have gotten out and been squashed yet her first thought is "let me bang this dude rq".
I was going to look past it but then she kept calling her vaginal region "Rip Van Winkle".
EXCUSE ME??????????
NO. ABSOLUETELY NOT.
But even after this I kept reading. Because i am in fact a masochistic reader. *sobs in hunting adeline*
Anyway, I had thought the book picked up near the end but then i got slammed in the face with another Rip Van Winkle and just screamed into my mattress before just going to sit in my closet and think about life for the next five minutes. The lack of communication and the amount of miscommunication killed me inside and i wouldnt not recommend this. The only reason I completed this was due to my reading challenge.
This was definitely not my best read of the year. It had a really good premise but it just wasnt executed properly.
Also i saw another review that said that plane "crash" #2 was written so poorly that it seemed like he was having a dream. I 100% agree with that. Although who knows. Maybe it was supposed to be that way. OH AND
I honestly felt assaulted because after Nick and Alyssa did the deed, they got onto some weird conversation and idek how it got there because i started skimming but he asked the question like "have you named your breasts"
and then she said "annabelle and elizabeth"
.....im sorry to all the annabelle and elizabeths out there.....
In fact im sorry to myself because my name is annabelle and i had to read that.
At the next page Nick wanted to know why specifically those names and Alyssa said because they sounded regal or some word like that.
THEY'RE NOT ANYMORE. AUUAUAUUAUAUGHHHH.
I WANTED TO CHANGE MY NAME BECAUSE OF THIS.

anyway
I rate this 1.5 stars but its rounded up to 2. Won't reread this but it has a nice cover... which is probably the only good thing about this book.

This book ripped me to pieces and then put me right back together again.

Nick has just suffered a terrible loss. He is in a plane crash with 5 of his teammates including his best friend and roommate. He comes home from the hospital to find his house empty of his best friends' things and a trade to a new hockey team.

Alyssa is a struggling interior designer trying to make a name for herself. She jumps at the chance to decorate Nick's new apartment. What she doesn't expect is for him to not actually want her help and he is being forced to either decorate or go to counseling.

Both of the main characters have trauma that they overcome together. I really liked both Nick and Alyssa. They were equally stubborn and hardheaded at times. I went into this story blind, so I was expecting something completely different, but I was not disappointed. I cried, laughed, and genuinely liked the story.

The narrators did a great job. Scarlett Everdeen narrated Alyssa's chapters, and Nick Mondelli narrated Nick's chapters. Both of their voices fit the characters. I thought Nick did a great job with the accents of the foreign teammates. I was able to easily tell when a new character was speaking. I thought the pacing was good and there were appropriate pauses to indicate a new chapter. I liked the way the text messages were handled. It was clear that you were being read a text message.

If you enjoy a tearjerker, with some romance, and a mean boss mixed in you will love this book.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for my very honest review.

Heart On Thin Ice is a sports rom-com that follows two individuals, Nick and Alyssa, and their journey through dealing with trauma and grief. Going into this book, I was excited because I love a good sports romance, however, this was not what I expected. This book focuses more on the traumatic experiences both Nick and Alyssa experienced and less on their romantic adventure. The romance  and chemistry felt very lacking, as well as the comedy. Unfortunately, this book was not my favorite. I also found myself disliking Nick towards the end. His attitude towards Alyssa's response when he helped her was very off-putting. I had mixed feelings about Alyssa as well, however, for different reasons. What she experienced in the past was very traumatic, but the fact that she held onto it for so long was a bit ridiculous and immature (her reason for not wanting to help the church). This book was a difficult one for me to really enjoy. 2.5 stars, rounded up.

Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Katie Kennedy for this ARC!

This was an entertaining read! I will say I liked the first half A LOT more than the second half! If you know me, then you know that I don’t like the miscommunication trope. I adore both of these characters, but I thought that sometimes they reacted very heavily to things that were truly not that deep. Like I get it, but just…talk? They really went so long without being together because they thought the other was mad. Again…just talk?

But when they were together, I LOVED THEM. I think Nick is such a wonderful character. I loved seeing him work through his trauma and be so multi faceted. I loved Alyssa too, but I wish she believed in herself more!

I will say there were a couple loose strings. Whatever happened with that one mean girl who said that Alyssa would go in the newspaper? Did she? Who even was that? Like what was the point except to make Alyssa’s life even more horrible, but not tie up that string? Then I felt like the Stacey thing was too easy, but I side with Nick so it’s okay. I’m just glad it worked out.

Overall, despite some flaws, I thought this book as so entertaining

I really wanted to like this book as I love a good hockey romance but I just could not get on board,
Nick Sorensen is a pro hocky player and he falls for interior designer Alyssa Compton when he hires her to decorate his apartment.
I think i definitely judged a book by the cover with this one as I was expecting a light and fluffy romance but the author tackled a lot of heavy topics in this book. Which I was not expecting.
From what I read, (51%) i took that this is a slow burn romance, though however I do think there was not much chemistry between the characters. And I don’t think I really connected with them as much as i wanted to.
I do however think this book will reach its target audience, but it just wasn’t for me.

Thank you Dreamscape media and Katie Kennedy for this advanced copy of Hearts on Thin Ice’s audiobook.

This was a sweet/sad rom-com about a hockey player and an interior designer who cross paths after his teammate forces him to redo his place. He’s the lone survivor of a plane crash that killed his group of friends, and is dealing with severe survivors guilt. She’s an interior designer who is afraid to branch out after a rough childhood. Together they work to explore grief and childhood trauma, while falling in love.

I loved the narrators and most of the book. My main critique is I didn’t feel like the characters had truly finished dealing with their own personal issues by the end of the book. They also were not communicating well by the end. It has a lot of good parts, but the ending feels unsatisfying.

Overall: 3.5 Stars out 5

Thank you to net galley, Katie Kennedy and the publisher for sending me an Ecopy of ‘hearts on thin ice’ to read and review.

The story follows the two main characters Nick Sorensen and Alyssa Compton both who face their own real life issues but find their way towards each other when Nick needs his apartment decorating.
What I enjoyed most from this book was the character development throughout the book. Both characters deal with some heavy topics and that mixed in with a sweet budding romance and bubbly banter made this a fun read!
This holds some of my favourite tropes of grumpy sunshine, found family and of course it’s a hockey romance!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an early copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

I’m a sucker for hockey romances and while I did enjoy this book,,,it really didn’t have much hockey in it. So for that reason it fell a little flat for me. Also, they are suppose to be grown ups correct? Some of their behavior and constant fighting made me feel like I was reading about high schoolers.

I do think all around, it’s a pretty enjoyable read though. I really liked Nick’s character. This book made me cried within a few chapters and also made me laugh a lot. I think a wide variety of readers will like this.

Tropes:
-past trauma
-sports romance
-found family

4/5 - Story
4/5 - Performance

- Debut Novel
- Emotional RomCom
- Pro Hockey Player
- Interior Designer
- Mental Health Rep

I enjoyed listening to Hearts on Thin Ice. The narraters did a great job telling the story and keeping my engaged. I think the author did a fantastic job at tackling some heavy topics while also maintaining cute romcom vibes. There were a handful of scenes that felt a little odd in an attempt at comedy that had me cringing a bit, but I can overlook those in the grand scheme of things.

Thank you to the author, Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This novel was so sweet it was honestly almost sickening. I'm not sure what I expected from a hockey romance, but it was certainly not the "not-like-other-hockey-players" male lead having a yelling fight about Michelangelo vs. Monet with the female lead. I get that this is a romance novel and thus by design filled with cliches, but this was honestly hard to read.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

The audio fenomenal , love it. The story line was fun and cute, a but fast sometimes but i really enjoyed it, now the miscommunication trope, first time I have laughed so much at this trope, like this two cannot have a normal miscommunication it has to be funny. That it doesn’t even feel like it when you are reading, even that totally is. Anyway, if you want a fun book with a sexy hockey player this is your book .

Hearts on Thin Ice isn't your typical hockey romance - there isn't a lot of on ice action or sports. The MMC is simply a hockey player and something tragic happened that effected his ability to play and this is his struggle to get back to his job, which we rarely see in this trope.

Our MMC, Nick was the sole survivor of a plane crash (not a spoiler) and he lost his best friend and other teammates, and while he is struggling to recovery physically, his mental health needs a chance to heal also. He meets Alyssa, an interior designer, at a new teammate's house and their relationship begins there.

While Alyssa helps Nick with his PTSD, he helps her after she experiences a traumatic event (no spoiler here) and we watch their relationship bloom.

I enjoyed this book tremendously. It was a different take on a hockey romance; it covered serious subjects, but the author didn't forget to make it fun too.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
