Theo, a young investigator, crosses paths with Eleven, an amalgam perfectly mimicking the form of a girl. In a strange twist of fate, the two become partners on a special mission to track down other amalgams on the run after the war. However, Eleven only looks like a young girl. She’s a living weapon who doesn't understand what it means to be human. Theo has no love for amalgams, but he'll have to deal with it because a terrorist attack has rocked the nation to its core and someone needs to get to the bottom of it!
This is my first time reading a light novel. I throughly enjoyed it. I seriously can’t get over how amazing this book was to read. The loved everything from the characters to the story. So good. I highly recommend it!
Tightly written and dealing with subjects like PTSD and survivor's guilt in a thoughtful (but not preachy or saccharine way), this is a surprisingly solid police procedural. It helps that it has no romantic subplot and focuses on only one case for the entire volume. Definitely a nice surprise.
Well this is my first light novel read. A good recommendation for readers looking for something to read leisurely without too much analysis of the lore. Though i hope to see more performance from other characters rather than the two main protagonists.
