This has been an excellent series that has kept readers engaged over the five books so far. I was eager to discover the truth behind the overarching mysteries behind Jenny William’s cousin reasons for going missing ten years before, and the murder of her boyfriend Nick’s father.

This book picks up shortly after the last one finished and this times the discovery of bones is closer to home, as far as Jenny is concerned too close to home. Just how involved are her cousin and aunt with the murders and why have the rest of her family been keeping secrets. As she works hard to discover how involved they might be, she begins to feel her ongoing relationship with Nick will suffer.

Most of the main characters come together in an effort to resolve this mystery once and for all and a new character arrives to lead the investigation Detective Dawn Graves who stirs up the rest of the team with her approach.

As always there is plenty of action and revelations to keep the reader guessing as to the truth behind the murders, and it is a very satisfactory end to the series.

The author promises more from Jenny Williams in the future, but in the meantime is focused on a new series featuring Detective Dawn Graves which I look forward to.

Oh my, the Opal Mine series hooked me right off the bat! I devoured this series as soon as I got my hands on each book. Fiona definitely knows how to weave a tale that without using cliff hangers leaves you wanting more at the end of each book! Now I have read all 6 books and did not want to come to that last period on the last page! Jen’s search for her cousin and aunt haunted me in a good way as I held out hope that she would find them. Enter another intrigue with discovering murders along the way including bringing to light that Nick’s dad had been murdered and had not committed suicide. Add the fact his mom went missing as well. Is everything tied together? We finally get the big picture here in book 6 and Jen finds out the truth about her cousin, aunt, Nick’s mom and who killed Nick’s dad. I am a Fiona fan girl for life‼️. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

This is book 6 in a fantastic story of a young woman, Jenny Williams, who joined the South Australian police force in order to find her cousin and Aunt, who disappeared 10 years previously without a trace. Her search takes her to the opal fields of Coober Pedy as a police constable.
Having read, and enjoyed, the previous 5 books about Jenny's exploits. I was really looking forward to seeing what happened next and how the story of her cousin's disappearance played out.
Fiona Tarr did not disappoint! She created a fearless and courageous heroine in Jenny who was also a little vulnerable. She wove danger and romance into a fabulous story of one woman's determination to find the truth.
I highly recommend this book for lovers of crime with a little bit of romance thrown in.

This is an explosive one not physically but the revelations are dynamite.

So Jenny and Nick set out to do a spot garden reform and move the veg plot only they discover another body, swems a gift of Jen's finding dead bodies that is. The crew are called, Penny returns, and the story unfolds. But this time a big wig arrives with Penny to lead the investigation Detective Sergeant Grave (Dawn Grave). A character to keep an eye on.

Well, the body has far-reaching consequences and Jens Aunt and Cousin have big involvement in this story. It all gets very messy week for Jen. But it's a great story plenty of twists and turns and we learn a lot about our Hero Jen well about her family. I've said it about every book on the m this Opal fields series but this is no exception and is better than the previous they really do get better and better.

So it no surprise I've got to give this 5 stars it absolutely brilliant and if you loved or liked the others you really week enjoy this one it's well like I said brilliant and wonderful see for yourself.

This is the final book in the series!!I love all things Fiona Tarr, and this does not disappoint; if I could give this 100 stars I would!! This was a gripping story from the first page, the whole series was amazing!!! We finally get some answers as to what happened to Constable Jenny Williams cousin Melanie and her aunt Carolyn, after ten years. We also find out who killed Nick's Dad and why. Bones are found in the vegetable garden on Nick's property; could these be the remains of his mom, that was never found? Do we still have some unanswered questions? Will Constable Jenny Williams be back again, is she done being the murder magnet? A new character in this book Detective Graves, will we read more about her in the future? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading what's next from Ms. Tarr

Great Australian outback drama

Book 6 in the Opal Fields series does not disappoint. Answers are finally forthcoming about what really happened to Nick's parents and Jenny's cousin & aunt. Police constable Jenny Williams, along with her colleagues, does not rest until the truth is revealed. A detective from Adelaide, Dawn Graves, is sent to oversee the investigation of bones being unearthed at Nick's Station, as Jenny is deemed "too close" to be involved. This is the first introduction to this character, who now has her own series of books by this author (Dawn Graves series). I recommend both series by Fiona Tarr, especially if you like Australian drama, mystery and police procedurals.

So seriously WOW! I am so glad that author Fiona Tarr says that there will be more of the Opal Fields series!! I read the whole series back-to-back and loved it. Her Covered Bones was the perfect conclusion of the arc that brought Jenny to the outback. Heart wrenching, nonstop action with characters who matter left me breathless. I really could not put it down. A new discovery brings the case of Jenny's missing cousin and Nick father to the forefront, and this time she gets all the answers including some that she doesn't want.
Later books in the series reveal key points in earlier books so reading in order may be your best option since there are twists in almost every book.

This book capped the wonderful and engaging Opal series and longing for more about Jenny Williams and wondering where her relationship with Nick is going. Currently immersed in Fiona's new series of Det. Dawn Graves who made an appearance in Opal Fields book 6 - would love to see Dawn and Jenny working together again in the Opal Fields or even Jenny getting involved with Dawn in a new murder case (perhaps while on holiday in the warm north)! Fiona's Opal series is energizing, intriguing and so descriptive of the geographical settings that it feels like you know the place even though you may never have been there.

Another great book by Fiona Tarr. This is the 6th book in the Opal Fields collection. This one answers many of the questions and searches for Jenny. Jenny continues to shine in her role as a constable in the outback at Coober Pedy as she discovers yet another body. We are introduced to Detective Graves who is sent to assist in the investigation of this recent body discovery. The action really picks up in the final third of the book and I could not put it down. Well developed cast of characters and believable story lines.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Her Covered Bones: An Australian Outback Crime Thriller (Opal Fields Book 6), my eighth read from author Fiona Tarr. Enjoyable mystery carrying over from the first five books. With this series Tarr has become one of my go-to authors! “I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. With the completition of this series Death Beneath the Covers: A Crime Fiction Mystery Romantic Suspense Novel (Foxy Mysteries Book 1) has just moved up my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A fantastic series comes to an end with a thrilling 6th book. Lots of secrets and mysteries comes out and it's an absolutely emotional ending. Jenny as always is excellent, while she fights to stay above the situation the emotions threatened to derail her. I was truly satisfied by the ending. I wish to see more of jenny in the future though and Penny too, it would be really awesome.

I received an advance review copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was an awesome read. I loved these six books and the stories within.

This series had me hooked from the first book and I could not wait to read the rest. Each book can be read as a standalone, but it is recommended that you start from book one as there is an ongoing story throughout the six books.

I had not read any of Fiona Tarr's books previously. I chose her first book because it was about Coober Pedy and William Creek Pub and I have been to both places. I loved her descriptions of the outback and felt as if I was actually back there.

I am now about to start on the Dawn Graves series.

This final installment of the Opal Fields series starts off with the discovery of another long buried body that may answer more of Constable Jenny Williams’ questions about her family’s past. The setting in Australia’s Outback adds to the mystery and excitement of the final scenes.
Very satisfying wrap up!

Once again Fiona has excelled with this continuation of her Opal Fields books, following Jenny and Nick through the continuing twists and turns to its end kept me turning the pages. Her description paints a picture of the area so feels familiar to me. Look forward to more.

A fitting end to a great series.

Finally Jenny and Nick both solve their family mysteries with all the drama, action and suspense that you would expect from this series. The truth is certainly unexpected and Jenny’s world is turned upside down in more ways than one. Absolutely loved the ending.

What a story full of suspense and secrets. Constable Jenny tries to find her missing cousin, even though it’s been a long time. Unfortunately there are other crimes as well. Can she solve them and find the truth.

Finally the family mystery is solved!

I enjoy this series and am glad it will continue. Jenny finally gets to the bottom of who murdered Nick’s parents and why. Jenny’s family is so dysfunctional and caused a lot of grief by keeping their silence.

A fitting end

This particular series has come to an end. Jenny seems to me to have mellowed some over the course of her romance and job. This was an entertaining adventure following the stories in the Australian Outback.

Way back in book 1 Jenny got herself posted to Coober Pedy as their new local police officer. But Jenny had an ulterior motive, to track down her cousin and aunt who went missing in the town ten years before.

A series of murders in the town, since Jenny arrived, have limited her chances to fully investigate the disappearance as she gradually pieced together some of what happened all those years ago.

Finally, we get a whole book dedicated to resolving the the mystery that's been keeping me up at night.

This has been an excellent series and book 6 is written in the same, easy to read, style featuring all our favourite charcters and the plot pulls together all the clues from the earlier titles in the series to deliver a tension filled finale that'll have a life changing effect on Jenny and her family.

The author introduces a new detective 'Dawn Graves' ahead of getting her own series later in the year but hopefully Jenny will be back in the future as I'm sure she still has a few tales to tell.
