Welcome to the Ballroom, Vol. 9 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next five chapters (37–41) of the on-going manga series.
The tankōbon continues the Tokyo Metropolitan Dance Sport Tournament and covers the second to fourth (semi-finals) rounds. The second round was undocumented, but the results were shown and Tatara Fujita and Chinatsu Hiyama received full marks on all four dances (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Quickstep), while Mine Gorou and Akira Koumoto lost a mark in the Foxtrot. Also Masami Kugimiya and Tami Idogawa pass the round, although their marks unknown.
Unfortunately, the results of the third round (with the same dances) have Gorou-Koumoto team receiving only one point in the Tango and were eliminated in the third round. Fujita-Hiyama team lost only one mark in the Foxtrot, but is preceded towards the semi-finals. The Kugimiya-Idogawa team also proceeded towards the semi-finals. The tankōbon closes in the middle of the fifth and last dance of the semi-final round: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Tomo Takeuchi. Besides the dance competition, this tankōbon delve into the back story of Chinatsu Hiyama and Akira Koumoto – how they became friends, found dance, how they parted, and their current relationship with each other. It is slightly maddening, albeit understandable, that the final round dancers are unrevealed. Hopefully, the tenth tankōbon would be published soon, albeit it seems to be delayed significantly.
All in all, Welcome to the Ballroom, Vol. 9 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.

هنوز هم مسابقه جریان داره و مرکز داستان تلاشهای بیشتر چیناتسو و تاتارا برای هماهنگیه. تلاشی که حالا چالش خیلی بزرگتریه چون تاتارا حتی جوری که خودش عادت داره هم نیست. گذشته چیناتسو از دید پارتنر قبلیش خیلی کمک کرد که بدونم چقدر سخته همه چی براش. و چقدر این تاتارا هم همه چیزو سخت میکنه.
رابطهای که یه جورایی بین تاتارا و کوگیمیا وجود نداره هم برام جذابه. دلم میخواد رابطهاشون دولوپ پیدا کنه و البته بک استوریهای بیشتری ببینم حتی در موردخود تاتارا و مامانش.
اما، زیبایی این جلد واقعا هیودو و گند بزرگش بود. (~‾▿‾)~ واقعا این بشر سر تا پا زیباییه. در درجه بعدم اون دو تا بچه تخم سگ واقعا خوبن، دوستشون دارم.

I like seeing Tatara and Chinatsu grow together- it was quite painful watching them butt heads 😭😭😭

Such a packed volume, there are backstory flashbacks and the ongoing competition.

This series is just so good. I don't know if I can call it underrated with an anime adaptation and an official English translation and printing, but it deserves more love
