I am so delighted by this book. Do you recall when you first learned of Robert Peary's accomplishments in the Arctic? I do!! I was a child and awed by the story and stupefied by his courage and that of the men who accompanied him. What I did not know was that his wife also accompanied him on some of his Arctic trips. I would have enjoyed reading this book as a child and so wish I had known of this book, written by Josephine, when I was teaching my Arctic exploration units to 3rd graders. How did I miss this? I highly recommend reading this if you were enamored by Arctic exploration as a child, but somehow missed out on this book as a child. It is charming!
