Growing up all over the world, moving from one poverty-stricken country to another, Dahlia Greene wants one thing out of her adult life. Stability. She’s worked hard to get to where she is, even relocating to be by her sisters. Life was dull and boring—and just like she wanted it! Until the FBI comes knocking on her door, letting her know she is under investigation for missing money at her last job.
Special Agent Hugh Crosby left the Special Victims Unit behind and moved states away to work with white-collar crimes. He’s seen and experienced one too many horrific things that will never leave his memory and now craves a slower career. A failed marriage and sleepless nights are the least of his worries. He meets Dahlia Greene working on his next case and knows beyond a doubt this woman is going to disrupt his life more than ever before. He can only hope he doesn't blow it but to do that, he has to protect her from the demons he carries.
Dahlia was the second oldest of five children but the oldest of the three girls. Both of her younger sisters had found love and Dahlia was feeling left out. She was not outgoing and was a homebody, where would she meet anyone? Then one day there was a knock on her door. FBI Special Agent Hugh Crosby. What in the world had she gotten herself into? Hugh Crosby had transferred from the Special Victims Unit to White Collar Crimes. Never did he think that he would find the love of his life through an investigation. This is a beautiful story and a must read! Natalie Ann has us laughing and crying all at once with her wonderful stories of family.
The whole Blossoms series is a wonderful read. Each book follows different characters and their stories show us that no two people have the same journey to love and happiness.Hugh and Dahlia's story is such a beautiful one. They are learning to love and trust when they didn't have that same feeling in their past relationships. Every time I read a book in this series, I don't think that Natalie Ann can get any better. She proves me wrong every time.
I love the Blossoms series by Natalie Ann. Hugh and Dahlia had past relationships problems. Dahlia’s ex-boyfriend abused her trust in men. Hugh and Dahlia through al this learned that love was worth the fight. Dahlia is a little shy to having a new relationship after hers end so poorly. Hugh past work experience left him vulnerable and not trusting that a new relationship would be possible. Talking about their past lead to a beautiful romance and a lovely HEA.
I loved Hugh and Dahlia’s story! They found what they didn’t know they were looking for, love and companionship. They were perfect for each other! This story has love, romance, a great family, an ex that won’t leave her alone. Together they will get rid of him. A Date for Dahlia a wonderful romance you don’t want to miss! I love all of the Blossom Book Series! I can’t wait for the next one!
While I liked the pretext of the story, it barely made it to 4 stars for me. The two MC's 'seem' to be in love, but they're almost clinical about it. I'm going to make the assumption that this is the character traits the author was after. In which case, she succeeded, and hence the 4 stars. The editing is spot on and the plot flows with a few suspenseful moments thrown in. A good story overall.
A great story of compassion, love and a HEA that a boring finance director and a FBI special agent didn't see coming. Dahlia and Hugh are what the other needs to overcome issues from their pasts. Little did they know, their relationship would start when the FBI comes knocking on her door investigating her ex for embezzlement.
