I really enjoyed the story. It was well written and a completely new concept. You discover that there is a Biblical theme, although it isn't revealed until the last book. I thought that everything was well thought out and well planned. Jasper Scott is a fantastic author. I have enjoyed all of the books that I have read that were written by him. So, why only three stars. Even though the characters were well written and well developed, I didn't like any of them and didn't care if any, or all of them died. It would not have bothered me if the author would have pulled a Stephen King and killed them all off. But he doesn't do that and the story ends well and happy. I will still recommend this series, because of the story. Your mileage may vary, and you may actually like the characters.
Many twists that are unexpected and riveting. You read about relatable characters from our reality that go involuntarily to a new planetary system. They find very unexpected situations. There are a lot of questions that arise as their experiences and encounters get stranger. A mind-blowing conclusion that poses an "answer" to questions posed by humanity since it became sentient. Leaves the reader once again pondering the age-old questions of why we're here, and, how we came to be.
Architects of the Apocalypse series is an excellent and fantastically riveting read full of action, thrills and imaginative surprises. I read it nearly non-stop because I just had to know what happened on the next page. The characters are realistic and relatable but the storyline is extremely and uniquely creative. So, stop reading my review and get yourself a wonderful gift: this series.
Start to finish Scott has given us an exciting new world that is on the verge of what our world is faced with. A gifted astronomer has discovered something unexpected another world very close to us. Atmosphere exactly like our world! The people start vanishing! What, how, and to where? Read carefully there's much more in each paragraph.
The first two books were very good. I like a well put together SF story. However the last book was a disappointment. What started out as SF turned into something a little ridiculous. Adam and Eve? Alien God and alien angels? Good and evil? It appears the writer couldn't think of a good way to wrap up the loose ends so he decided to wrap it up as a "bible story"
When I first started reading it, I wasn’t sure I was gonna be interested in it having a plan just appear, but as it went along, it started to make some kind of sense and I got hooked on all of the different characters and ended up loving the book
