Sometimes, in order to ascend to Heaven, it is necessary to descend into the depths of Hell. And it is precisely this path that Yang will have to walk in order to master himself and his new abilities. It is there that he will meet a former enemy who may become his close friend and ally. With each new step on the path to greatness and strength, he gets more and more entangled in the web of the “Grand Game,” where only the most cunning survive. But for a former champion used to winning, giving up is not an option. He will persevere as he moves toward his new goal — to mastery of the Void Ring.
White technically a progression fantasy there is very little actual progression. The main hero and his companions occasionally unlock new "rings" and "increase their grade", but in reality all fights in book 1 and in book 5 are written the same way: the hero punches & kicks his enemies till they are killed. There are no special abilities, no secret moves, no special techniques etc - all the progression results in is that he is faster and his punches are heavier I suppose. That's pretty much it. I could swap places two random fights in book 1 and book 5 and most readers wouldn't notice any difference.
This is a great series I'm enjoying it thoroughly Can't wait for the next book And hopefully when you're done with this series Whatever other books you write The main character has an indomitable will And I can't get enough of it I love his friends and the relationships you're building And the world you've built is fast and And the world you've built is fastening And I'm extremely interested to see where you're gonna go with all this Thank you for your hard work And I'm on to the next 1
This series has got to be in my top 5 of all time. The amount of depth and creativity involved with creating this fantastic plot is insane. Can’t wait for the next one. If you like real martial arts and you want to take it to super natural levels this is the series for you.
I enjoyed the series so far and I am looking forward to the next book. My only complaint is that the books don’t cover much ground and spends to much time on the MC inner dialogue.
This story of a modern martial artist champion getting zeked to another world in the body of a dying clan member was fantastic. In this book it ends as he makes it into his families altar in a haunted forest.
