This is a hard review to write because my experience was unique. The sum of this book is greater than its parts. I started with the audiobook because it was a 99-cent special on Chirp. I quickly saw (heard?) that this book is NOT a good audiobook. Because the sections are short and each have their own headings, the audiobook feels choppy and weird. I kept listening, though, and I learned a lot. Obviously, there are no pictures in the audiobook, and I wanted to see them, so... I ordered the print book from Amazon. The pictures are amazing and really added to my experience. HOWEVER, I know that if I had started with the print book alone, I would have skimmed and scanned; there's no way I would have read the thing cover to cover. I think I had the best of all worlds with how I experienced this book.

I guess I'll go with the average for my Goodreads review. My lasting takeaways are that I learned super interesting tidbits, especially about the National Parks that aren't well-known. I have moved Lassen Volcanic and Acadia to the top of my NP To-Do List!

Filled with beautiful photographs, this title presents an overview of some favorite national parks. While the author gives suggestions for hikes, views to not miss, and the flora and fauna within the park, there is not enough information within the book to plan a trip. Use this as an introduction to what awaits in visiting our country's wondrous landscapes.

Not enough pictures

I bought this ebook thinking it was the kind double tapping enlarged whole page. It's not. This book is mostly words with some picture
,s. It is informative, but I bought it for pictures not paragraphs.
