Good information (not that I am entirely convinced it is all true) after all, next to prostitution, snake oil is the oldest and most marketed product in the history of mankind. And because everyone wants to live forever, stay beautiful, and maintain erections, there will still be snake oil salesmen among us. Nowadays they wear white lab coats and have PHD's next to their names, but they still haven't really changed. I'll tell you one other thing that hasn't changed, regardless of whether you are eating beets or pizza, as the great, late Jim Morrison said, "No one gets out of here alive".

Everything you've ever wanted to know about beets. I've recently discovered that beets are purported to be quite a superfood, and this book certainly backs that up. An interesting read.

Beets are important

Beets are important as this and many other sources show for NO production. Unfortunately the link they provide for the NO test strips is out of date. Furthermore studies show that oral text strip Don't give a good idea of your body NO levels. Other than that a quick read with good info.

Any book that uses WIKIPEDIA as a source gets a one star from me. My fourth graders even know better than to use an open source. And this was written by a doctor… bizarre. It is filled with medical jargon and not a read for a regular person. Very disappointing.

Interesting quick read. Who knew beets, especially red blood beets, were so healthy and making a dietary comeback. I will be adding them to our meal planning. The information about vegetables and nitrates and nitrites is key to good health. "The real influence of nitrate from beets occurs after it has been reduced to nitrite and further reduced to N-O in the body. Beets are being recognized for their contribution to performance sustainability." Beets have been used as a detoxifier in the body. Studies show that eaten as part of a healthy diet, they reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
