Babes!

I am so excited to launch the first in a three part series! I can’t tell you much because I don’t want to spoil it, but please prepare yourself for no happy endings, drama and trauma, heartache, and dark scenes.
This is a fast-paced novel, hopefully keeping you on your toes until the very end! I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing the characters. ☺️🤘🏼

Major plot twists!

Ummm okay let me just figure out how to gather my thoughts here. RARELY does a book leave me completely at a loss of words. Let me start off by saying yes we all know I read very dark books and this is no exception. Honestly dark doesn’t describe it and please read your TW. Actually if you have any issues with reading about things involving children do not pick up this book because it’s not for you. This is full of so many freaking plot twists and I really couldn’t predict what was going to happen. The real only issue I had was that it was in third person pov and with all the flashbacks it made it a little hard to keep up with who we were focusing on next. If it was first person pov I really do think it could have easily been one of my favorite books with how much it kept me guessing. I definitely need a part two though because I am more than curious to see what happens next for Hannah.

What the f*ck?

Hannah Kennedy leaves her abusive boyfriend, and she and her 13 year old daughter move back to Hannah’s home town. She reconnects with her childhood friend, Tommy Richardson.
There’s something between them, but Tommy is married to someone else, and Hannah is in a relationship. Not only that, but there’s someone else always watching Hannah.

I just…don’t really know what to say. Okay, first, this is told in third person POV, which I normally don’t enjoy. In this instance, I didn’t mind; in fact, I didn’t really notice. This is a thriller, dark romance, but the romance isn’t really the main focus of the story. There’s a different storyline that just had me saying “what the f*ck?” at pretty much every twist. Some parts were horrifying and absolutely disgusting – I mean, they were truly bad things.

This book is fast-paced, and it’s full of twists and suspense. I was constantly trying to guess what was going to happen, but I really could not predict anything. This was my first book by Lisa Andrew, and I really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to see what’s next!

Note: This is a dark book, so check the trigger warnings.

Edge of Your Seat with 5 Alarm Heat Read!

This book is full of twists and turns that I would never have anticipated, but when reading them was like, ohhhh!  This was my first read from this author, and I think I need to read every. Single. Word. that she has ever written!  I just couldn’t put it down - there is mystery, there are a lot of dark elements, there is off the charts heat, heart-wrenching emotions  and an amazing storyline.  Please read the trigger warnings, but if they jive with you and you are looking for a different spin on dark romance, grab this, shut off the rest of your devices, and enjoy! You will not regret it!

“𝕬𝖓𝖉 𝖜𝖍𝖊𝖓 𝖇𝖆𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖌𝖘 𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖕𝖊𝖓, 𝖜𝖊 𝖙𝖆𝖐𝖊 𝖈𝖆𝖗𝖊 𝖔𝖋 𝖎𝖙 𝖎𝖓 𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖔𝖜𝖓 𝖜𝖆𝖞 - 𝖜𝖍𝖊𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖗 𝖎𝖙 𝖇𝖊 𝖗𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖔𝖗 𝖜𝖗𝖔𝖓𝖌.”

Huge thank you to Lisa for the opportunity to read and review this!

First of all, there is never a dull moment in this book. There is always something going on, and I was left wondering what would happen and how things would tie together. And I was not left disappointed with the twists and turns. There were parts that I was honestly flabbergasted and on the edge of my seat. The story is packed full of suspense, thrills and romance as a subplot (but the spice you get is immaculate).

“𝖄𝖔𝖚’𝖗𝖊 𝖘𝖚𝖈𝖍 𝖆 𝖕𝖗𝖊𝖙𝖙𝖞 𝖑𝖎𝖙𝖙𝖑𝖊 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖌, 𝖆𝖗𝖊𝖓’𝖙 𝖞𝖔𝖚? 𝕾𝖔 𝖒𝖚𝖈𝖍 𝖙𝖗𝖆𝖚𝖒𝖆, 𝖍𝖚𝖗𝖙, 𝖗𝖆𝖌𝖊, 𝖎𝖙’𝖘 𝖆𝖑𝖑 𝖘𝖔 𝖇𝖊𝖆𝖚𝖙𝖎𝖋𝖚𝖑.”

You follow Hannah and her daughter after Hannah leaves her abusive relationship. She returns to her hometown, where she feels that she is still alone and an outsider… She has a new boyfriend, she’s trying to make it and provide by herself. She’s also reconnected with her childhood best friend, Tommy, and what’s worse than discovering that you two still have so much love for each other and want to be together? He’s married… and what’s worse than that? Your boyfriend is now a missing person, and it feels like everyone in town knows something that you don’t. And what’s worse than that? You realize you may not be as alone as you think that you are here, and you are being watched by an ominous person from afar. One that has a reputation of his own… one that’s absolutely brutal.

“𝕴 𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙 𝖙𝖔 𝖇𝖊𝖑𝖔𝖓𝖌 𝖙𝖔 𝖞𝖔𝖚 𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗. 𝕸𝖆𝖐𝖊 𝖒𝖊 𝖎𝖓𝖛𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖎𝖇𝖑𝖊, 𝖒𝖆𝖐𝖊 𝖒𝖊 𝖞𝖔𝖚𝖗𝖘, 𝕭𝖚𝖙𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖗.”

There’s so much I want to sayyyyyy, but all of it would be spoilers. Seriously so good and dark. Check the warnings!

“𝕲𝖎𝖛𝖊 𝖒𝖊 𝖔𝖓𝖊 𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖘𝖔𝖓 𝖜𝖍𝖞 𝕴 𝖘𝖍𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖉𝖓’𝖙 𝖈𝖆𝖗𝖛𝖊 𝖞𝖔𝖚 𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖔 𝖗𝖎𝖇𝖘 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖉𝖊𝖛𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖞𝖔𝖚. 𝕴’𝖛𝖊 𝖓𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖊𝖉 𝖙𝖔 𝖙𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖊 𝖘𝖔𝖒𝖊𝖔𝖓𝖊 𝖚𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖑 𝖞𝖔𝖚.”

Wow. Ok, I don’t even know where to start! This was just one shocker after the next, I don’t even know what to do with myself now..

I’ve read a few books by Lisa and one of the first things I noticed was her growth as a writer 🙌🏾 I feel like she improves with every book that I read and I love that for her.
This book, same as her other books, is a dark romance that deals with some (seriously) taboo subject, so PLEASE read the TWs before reading; but this one has a murder mystery aspect to it.

What I enjoyed where the time shifts between Now and Then that really helped to get the full picture of the story. I liked that Lisa added TWs at the beginning of each of the chapters that were concerned so that you weren’t blind sided while reading them.
I was also pleasantly surprised at the mention of Michael James, who’s book (Michael James) is my favorite of Lisa Andrews and made me want to reread that book.

There is one particular subject in there that made/makes my blood boil but I get why it was significant to the story…

Can’t say much else cause I want to avoid spoilers 🙈

Overall if you like dark romances, murder mysteries, next door neighbor, coworkers tropes, smut then you might enjoy Bad things (3.5⭐️)

You're such a pretty thing aren't you? So much trauma, hurt, rage. It's all so beautiful."

We start off meeting Hannah and her daughter Chloe after Hannah gets out of an abusive relationship. She moves back to her home town and rekindles an old childhood flame. The chemistry between Hannah and Tommy was apparent. It's a bit icky because he's married and she's in a relationship with someone else but 🤷 all well. The heart wants what the heart wants....I guess.

There were a ton of twists and turns in this book. Some expected, some totally out of left field. It took me quite some time to get into this book. Even after finishing it I still didn't find any of the characters really likeable. I had a hard time connecting with them and staying present within the story. I was intrigued by the Butcher (I'm predictable I know😂) but everyone else was kind of meh. I hated Chloe and her bratty attitude she constantly gave her mother.

This book is definitely more of a dark thriller than a dark romance in my opinion. There are tons of triggers throughout. The author put little disclaimers at the beginning of each chapter. Someone with triggers probably loves that but I have no triggers so I felt a little spoiled going into each chapter. I tried my best not to read the disclaimers.

If you want a dark thriller with tons of triggers this is probably a book for you. I did struggle with it being written in 3rd person. I needed more romance/smut to really keep me captivated but that's just preference.

Thank you to the author for providing me with the ARC to read and review!

"She’s mine and no one else’s. I’ll go to the ends of theher earth to make sure that everyone knows she is mine and mine alone. Forever. "

This was my first book from this author, and she definitely did not disappoint! She brought her "A" game for my dark little heart, and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

"My sweet, broken princess. Through all our traumatization and suffering, fate brought us together, and I would die before anything ever happened to her. She’s been through enough and deserves retribution."

For those that like or should I say LOVEEE, their DARK books be prepared because this one is dark, depraved, full of twists and turns that will leave you breathless. Don't expect rainbows and happily ever afters with this one because it will rip your heart out, and it definitely will not be mending it back together.

"She is my destiny. And now, together, we’re on the run, but don’t let that fool you. We might be fugitives, but we aren’t cowards."

Wow! This is one intense story. There are definitely dark moments in this story that are possible triggers for some. When starting this story it was hard to connect with Hannah due to some of her actions but, as the story continues you see so many things that opens your eyes to what she really is about. You see so many twists and turns throughout this story. It has you on the edge of your seat as you navigate through this dark and twisted world. These are people you love to hate. You can feel the pain and anguish that Hannah goes through at times. There are moments that completely blew my mind with how the story was taking a turn. It is extremely well written and the way the characters were developed definitely has added layers to the story. I was in complete shock at times when things would be reviled. This is definitely a dark story that is absolutely fantastic. I loved how it ended and boy will it draw you in. Thank you Lisa Andrew for this absolute stunning story.

Two of my favorite genres in one book! DARK romance and thriller together make a great read. Hannah a single mom just trying desperately to make it, a small town that knows everything, and a serial killer! There is so much that goes on throughout the entire thing and I never saw any of it coming. This book keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat the whole time! It is SUPER DARK so make sure to read those trigger warnings…it is well worth the read. So much so that I will be checking out more from Lisa Andrew.

This book definitely took me by surprise. From the prologue alone I didn’t realize the roller coaster that was to come.
This books is definitely dark and I recommend you read the content warnings.
The author did an amazing job writing this story. It’s very descriptive, perfect flow and just overall great. The story pulls in and you can definitely see everything that the author is writing, which I loved. It has the perfect mixture of a dark suspenseful thriller and a dark romance, two of my favorite genres.
Overall, this was a definite favorite for me. If you like a story full of turns and twists and without a happy ever after this is definitely the story for you. I can’t wait for the next one in this new trilogy!

Thank you to the author for the gifted copy!

Ah Lisa you wonderful woman,
This is the third book of Lisa's I have read and all have been totally different.
I did missed out a few pages because sometimes it was a bit much for me.
* Easy to read,
* Appreciated the warnings at the beginnings of each chapter.
* All the characters played their part well, The main male character was my favourite and feel the woman got what she deserved.
* I've a feeling it's just the beginning
* Not too long, not too short.

Wow! Some time has lasted between reading this book and posting my review. I am still thinking of all the little outlier stories that can come to part three. So many twists and turns and I cannot stop thinking about this story AT ALL!

First, I will say that I read the ARC, so not the final product.

Second, understand that this story is dark and very graphic. There are trigger warnings throughout, at the opening of each chapter, which is helpful to some, most. I skipped or scanned because very few things bother me. I am but a reader enjoying the journey that the author is giving me. I did, however, skip-ish a chapter because I noticed the one word in the trigger warning and new it wasn't for me. I did still skim to see when it was over or if I was missing something major. It worked out.

PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, READ THOSE WARNINGS IF ANYTHING UPSETS YOU AND SKIP THE STORY! I am tired of reading reviews with low stars because people skip or do not heed the warnings.

That said, there is so much to unpack. A serial killer. An affair. SO MUCH!

Hannah Kennedy is a single mom, dating a man, in love with another man... Her world has been one of chaos and all she wants is some sort of order.

Tommy Richardson is The man down the street, someone from Hannah's past, present, and potentially future.

In a tiny town, there are non secrets. Tommy is married and Hannah was his at one point-in-time, though not as much anymore. And there is a shadow, who is watching them, her, her daughter.

This journey was like the wildest rollercoaster ride. On the surface, everything seems to be sunshine and bubbles. Underneath, though, lurks some dangerous, dark things. It starts with the disappearance of Hannah's powerful lawyer boyfriend, Alexander. Piece by piece, we meet Alexander, Chloe, and Tommy. Such is a family drama on many sides. And now there is a man no longer in jail. A man who is watching her. Watching her daughter. And things have twisted so much, it's ending at a spot that I didn't see happening.

This story was dark, with horror elements, PTSD, BDSM, among many other topics often found taboo, but I cannot divulge anything without giving away anything. (Why I keep my reviews very vague, because I will ruin it for everyone.)

Where it ended is not where it began. It was another world where the characters had changed and were so... What can be said to not give it all away .... I feel like I turned in one kind of story for another altogether. I really enjoyed the twists and turns and outcomes I did guess and ones that I couldn't have guessed if I tried. SO FREAKING GOOD on TWISTS AND TURNS!

Would I recommend this book? YES!!!! Times 10! But, I would only recommend this for people who are not triggered by some things. Elements of horror are key as well as a very dark side to this book. DARK! This is one I would consider whether the person would enjoy it before recommending because of the potential triggers. But if little to nothing bothers you, then read away and enjoy the ride. WALK DON'T RUN!

I am going to say that this is Lisa's best story to date. (And I am including the blog posts she used to write in this.) Excellent story overall!!!

5 STARS EXCELLENT!

Get ready for a wild ride!

Dedication: To the girls who fell in love with scary movies at an early age and saw something in the villain as much as she saw in the hero. We can have them both in fiction. I gotchu.

Hannah Kennedy recently got out of an abusive relationship and moved back to her hometown with her daughter. Her childhood friend Tommy is there, and they have chemistry, but he is married (even though he has regrets) and she has a new boyfriend. There is also someone else watching her….

When her boyfriend goes missing it throws the entire town into chaos. Hannah is already a bit of an outcast and feels out of the loop. The last thing this town wants is national attention and they will do anything to avoid it.

“You know this town…The only person who doesn’t know about the gossip, is the one they’re talking about.”

If you like suspense in your dark romance, you need to pick this book up! There are some really great twists and turns and you will be trying to figure out what is happening! Make no mistake though, this books get dark and title is on point - there are some bad things happening here!!!

Hannah was in a tough spot and I really felt for her - being a bit of an outcast is tough, especially when she is just trying to do right by her daughter. No spoilers - but Hannah really surprised me in this book. The story goes places I didn’t expect and there is one scene in particular that is very satisfying.

If you have triggers, be sure and check those TWs!

This book had me at the very edge of my seat the whole time

Please be sure to check the trigger warning list, your mental health is the most important thing

I finished this book a few days ago and was processing everything I felt while reading so I could write a proper review to express everything, so here I go.

This book is SPECTACULAR!! Since the beginning catches your interest you don't want to put it down for a second. As soon as you start to read you get the "Hostel meets Hannibal" vibes, so you know you're getting into a horror book, Lisa's writing is mesmerizing, she describes every scene in such detail you feel that you're watching The Butcher doing his work while you're hiding inside a closet or behind a corner (you don't want to get caught by The Butcher, trust me)

Right after we go to the town, and everybody there is kind. Since it's a small community everyone has each other backs, and they are friendly and supportive. At least that's exactly what they want you to believe but I need to warn you, trust no one here. A series of events start to happen starting with the disappearance of a respected member of the community.

Don't you think this is just a horror-thriller book we have romance and spice too, the moments between Hannah and Tommy are pure fire. "Tell me yes" OMG!! sent shivers down my spine every single time

When I said this book had me at the edge of my seat it's not enough, this book made me feel everything!! fear, panic, stress (a lot of stress), lust (Tommy my boy! oh my boy), disgust, love. E V E R Y T H I N G !!

There were a lot of moments when I had to put the book down and stare right into the abyss asking myself "What the hell had just happened?" This is, no questions asked one of my favorite books of 2024.

If you enjoy horror, true crime, thriller, and romance this book is for you! Very important! there's no HEA so if you want one, maybe this is not the book for you. For everyone else? Welcome to The Butcher's world we have good music and very unhinged characters, Make yourself comfortable

“You don’t have to be scared of being in love with me. I promise you, little one. Because I’ve been in love with you since before anyone ever touched you, for as long as I can remember, and I will be in love with you forever and always. In this fucked up world of ours, we’re meant for each other. Always have been, always will be.” -Tommy

This book!!! How do I even put it into words !!!! I knew it !!! And I’m glad that’s how Alexander ended!! He deserved that and more !!! Ahhhh. When he admitted it !! I was pissed !!! I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall!!

This book had me feeling all types of ways anger was definitely at the top! It was perfectly written and I loved how every chapter had a trigger warning of what to expect in that chapter.

Let’s not forget about Tommy like he made me mad the way he did that to his wife IDGAF if he loved Hannah he has kids like he’s a hoe (excuse the language) let’s just say I laughed at page 273! He definitely deserved it. Idk if it’s just me but this book had my emotions all twisted and my heart turned black 🖤at the end so I was glad how these MF’s ended up.

😂😅🫣

Ok that’s all I got to say…… I’ll keep the rest to my self. Definitely recommend this book if you like murder, twists, stalker, purple knifes 😂, serial killer, and missing persons.

✨✨✨✨✨✨
This book seriously threw me through the wringer. I’m someone who loves to try to figure out what may be happening or who done it before the end but every time I did with this one a twist would change my whole thought. I really enjoyed this one!

Hannah I was rooting for so hard throughout the book. This woman really gets hit with it all. All Hannah wants is to make a better life for her and her daughter but is just having the hardest time doing so. While with her boyfriend Alexander she’s still so always thinking about married Tommy and what they have. When a mysterious man lurking in the shadows watches Hannah, she starts loving the idea of this mysterious man.

This is a not everything looks as it seems type of book.

What a wild ride. Bad Things by Lisa Andrew contains all the goodies I look for in an exciting read: murder, intrigue, twists and turns that I really don't expect, spicy scenes, criminal investigations, lots of jealousy, a serial killer and more.

Bad Things begins five days into a disappearance and continues on with chapters flipping back and forth between timelines- then (before the disappearance) and present day. The reader is brought up to speed on all the goings on around town including the fact that Hannah suspects she has a stalker, and has been sleeping with a married man who is also the one and only man she has been in love with all her life. There are many characters involved, but the main story revolves around Hannah Kennedy and her daughter Chloe. After finally escaping Adam, her abusive boyfriend and Chloe's biological father, Hannah comes back home to the small town of Cedar Heights in New York. This town has found its own unique way of taking care of their own, even if it's not exactly the legal way and even when something bad befalls the one woman that no one seems to like and always seems to gossip about - Hannah.

I highly recommend this book for readers who are not triggered by the listed content warnings and who enjoy a dark thriller, dark romance with a large helping of mystery, suspense and those not afraid of some gruesome details.

Lisa Andrew is a new to me author and I look forward to book two of this series. The current book on Kindle Unlimited is listed as the Adanced Reader Copy and it is my understanding the author is currently working on edits for the final edition, so don't be turned off if there are some typos.

Wow! This book is twistedly delicious! It started off slow and I got a little nervous that I wasn't going to get into it but I gave it a bit longer and I'm so glad that I did because it blew my mind.
This book has all the triggers, so be forewarned, some parts are hard to read. But you are given a disclaimer before each chapter so no excuses.
This story has so many twists and turns and some seriously messed up situations. The characters are all dark and damaged.
All the Bad Things, literally happen to our FMC Hannah, it's beyond tragic. This womans life is pure trauma, it's devastating. You just hold onto a glimmer of happiness for her.
The Butcher, the mysterious serial killer is so intriguing you must know everything about him. Not gonna lie, I loved Tommy, his strength and fight throughout the book was something to read. This whole town is next level, it's really an awesome book and I recommend it.
I can't wait for the 1st instalment (yes she wrote the 2nd instalment 1st...) Christian Blacks' story is going to be epic!
Thank you so much to Lisa for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC. The premise intrigued me as I am a dark romance fan to an extent however I've never read a dark romance thriller before.

⚠️ Please check TW and CW before picking this up as it is dark romance ⚠️

I'm not going to lie the prologue of this book nearly made me put this done as I can be squeamish what was happening , however once I got past that I really enjoyed the story.

In this story we follow Hannah after being with an abusive boyfriend for years, Hannah and her 13 year old daughter recently moved back home to a small farming and forestry town.

This book as alot of twist and turns and as I'm not an experienced thriller reader alot of them took me by surprise which I was glad of 🥰 the only thing I really struggled with in the book was that it was written I. 3rd person which I'm not used too but the more I read the easier it was to follow

Overall I enjoyed this book, it's fast paced and a good introduction to this author for me

This is a very dark romance. Not my typical read, but you know I love a man obsessed. This book is jam packed full of action right from the beginning. I was pretty squeamish early on, but once I got past that, I really enjoyed this story.

We follow Hannah as she tries to make a new life for herself after an abusive relationship. She has a new boyfriend who goes missing, and that sets off a chain of twists and turns that kept me guessing and entertained throughout.

There are multiple trigger warnings at the beginning of the book and at the beginnings of some chapters as needed. Please do check and heed them. But know, this was a very good book!

Thanks to Lisa Andrews for an advance copy of this book.

Bad things by Lisa Andrew is a dark suspenseful thriller romance. For me, it took a brief moment to adjust to the third person POV and the flashbacks. But once the story started to flow it never slowed down. Oh my this one is full of neck breaking twists. Never anticipated where this one was going and had my mind blown time after time.
Hannah is an incredible FMC whose life has put her through an emotional gauntlet. She is just trying to live her life and care for her daughter in a small town filled with judgmental eyes. She and Tommy, her first and only true love reconnect, and things well, to say the least, get messy.
As a story unravels, we are able to understand the questionable behavior of the characters and their actions are made clear. There were some actual jaw to the floor moments for me. Mystery, looming danger and well written steamy spice make Bad Things an excellent read.
This is a dark book that has some heavy subject matter. Trigger warnings are in place to make sure that this is the right read for you. It definitely was right for me and I look forward to so much more.

Amazing Book Love the twist and turns

Hannah and her thirteen year daughter Chloe leave her abusive ex, and moves to a small town where her love Tommy lives. The town treats her bad, but she starts dating Alex. Hannah has danger following her like her ex Adam and the serial killer the butcher is watching her. Can Hannah keep herself and Chloe save? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book Live Hannah and her character development. Great supporting characters. This book has so many twists and turns I couldn’t put it down. This book has angst, intrigue, and the spice is so good. Check your trigger warnings This is my first book by this author definitely not my last

A full-blown thriller but make it a [very] dark romance to boot. Hannah is trying to get her life back together with her young daughter Chloe, but while she has a new boyfriend Alexander she can't seem to let go of her past with the married neighbor Tommy. Besides being not-so secretly in love with Tommy, she also has a growing infatuation with a mysterious figure who's watching and following her.

Tropes to expect:
🖤Amnesia
🖤Small Town
🖤Why Choose?
🖤Touch her and die

I had a love/hate relationship with Hannah. As a mom myself I thought she was not a very good one *sits in judgement 🧐*, but she's also such an underdog and is being thrown through the wringer so hard and repeatedly you can't help but root for her. 💔 Her heart is in the right place but I didn't think her brain was (if that makes sense?) My favorite character was Tommy and don't get me started on Alexander (iykyk).

I keep pushing myself further with the dark romance, this one had new triggers I hadn't read before. The author has the TWs are chapter-by-chapter which I found helped me mentally brace for what was going to go down. Considering the subject matter I think it was tastefully done while getting the plot across. 🙌

I was provided an ARC of this title for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a WILD ride. This was DEFINITELY dark, thrilling and spicy the whole way through.

I really loved, and I cannot stress this enough, that the author included triggers at the beginning of each individual chapter as well as the back of the book! Nowadays I feel like we see a lot of people going in blind, and it’s good to get that reminder and extra warning in books that cover a range of very dark and difficult topics, of which there are no shortage on these pages.

If you’re looking for something quick, dark and gritty, I’d definitely recommend!

Headcannon

This book stole my complete brain power for days.

It is dark. Beware. Read the TW! But man.... It is interesting! The plot just continued to get deeper.

I feel like this book takes a look at society's underbelly. I feel like it exposes the rough edges that force pure people into stone in order to survive. Maybe I'm reading too much into it? But I could see it.

I am a sucker for a tragic back story, and this book delivers that! I took a minute to grieve for the innocence lost.

The k:nk in this book is juicy! There are so many different aspects of it, too! It isn't a one note and done.

I'm looking forward to the next!
