Bad Boys of Bardstown #2

Oh, You're So Cold

Rate this book
I swear I didn’t do it on purpose.

All I wanted was a harmless kiss from the handsome stranger at my eighteenth birthday party. But when he said — with a cruel twist of his cigarette smoking lips — that he doesn’t kiss ‘annoying little girls,’ I stupidly decided to flirt with a random guy to make him jealous.

I never wanted that random guy to fall in love with me. Or worse, accidentally start a relationship with him. But now I have a new boyfriend while I can’t stop thinking about the guy who doesn’t care that I exist.

So it’s time to move on and focus on my new relationship.

Only the moment I make that decision, he decides to notice me.

He decides to stare at me a little too hard and in a way that makes me blush. Oh and one day when my boyfriend isn’t looking, he decides to corner me in a lonely hallway and put his rough and heated hands on me that feels equal parts forbidden and familiar.

But I’m not stupid.

I’m not going to ruin my new relationship for someone that people call Stellan ‘The Cold’ Thorne. Especially not when the random guy I’m dating isn’t random at all.

No, my new boyfriend happens to be the brother of the guy I’m inappropriately obsessed with.

And I’m not the kind of girl who comes between two brothers.

Twin brothers…

Or am I?

-=- DNF: 56% -=-

People who purposefully lead other people on, completely disregarding those around them for their own personal gain are just another type of nasty-

sorry, what I meant to say was: meet Isadora Holmes ✨

I love stories about unrequited love, and was excited for this one because of it, especially considering SAK compared this book to 'The Unrequited', and Stellan to Thomas. Let me tell you right now that comparison was not it 😭😭.

I have so much to say, but ultimately SAK's writing has really changed for me- she's written some of my favourite books, but her most recent ones have just felt really disjointed with both the narrative and writing style. There was just no cohesiveness to the story. This was a 1 star for me because despite the fact that I've not liked some of SAK's work before, I've never felt the need to DNF it- this one was just disappointing for me 😭.

My baby is back and she's hornier than ever!

Among this cum fest (I'm not kidding) there is little romance. A romance between a glacier that secretly holds a volcano inside and a culturally delulu girl.

This is the first time ever knowing that the author might be Indian or half Indian but either way, she celebrated her Punjabi culture like Prianka Chopra's wedding with that baby husband of hers. Only fanfare and shallow external things.

But here's another thing I learned about the author. No, I'm not talking about the PRO MAX breeding kink.
No, not about the anger issues of MMC who needs to be hospitalized and yet they live HEA. Not about the desperado jealousy acts or the "Belt Scenes".

It's about the God Complex Saffron has. Are you okay? Who in their right mind would talk about god's dick throbbing for the heroine who should not call any name but the hero's?!!!

Ps: just a little trash talk about what's to come: Homer Davidson: I see you and I loved you in the Hatesick Diaries but your story is going to be yet about a frigid man who's traumatized by his daddy issues. So my condolences to your fiancée in advance.

Shepard bitch! What's wrong with you? The only saving grace you might save your next book is a persona close to Thomas in the Unrequited. If you'll just have one dimensional trait aka growling "mine while cumming every page" then Jupiter dear, my fucking condolences as well.

3.5 stars! this is going to have a lot of spoilers!

and be a long review, sorry 😩

i've been anticipating this book ever since the teases in the St Mary's rebels series. however, since this released, i've been putting it off HEAVILY because i hate love triangles and when it's between brothers? even worse. AND THEY ARE ALSO TWINS? yeahhhh i was not excited at all. but surprisingly i did not hate it even though it has my most disliked tropes. but saffron has a way of making something seem like a certain way but it always turns out to be something different. which is why you just need to trust the process. SAK to me is a very acquired taste and if you didn't like her other books, you'd probably not like this one. but she does boy AND girl obsessed like no other. i read her books because i know i can count on her to give me equal obsessiveness from BOTH main characters. i just love how there is always a similar dynamic.

stellan MF thorne.
the man he was 😩 he was pretty much my perfect MMC, minus some of that cringey dirty talk but i'm not holding that against him because SAK's dirty talk is like that and you just need to go with it. i'm a full defender of stellan thorne no matter what. his trauma and upbringing was heartbreaking and the way he was and how he treated others was understandable. everything he did had a reason. he may have been an asshole at times but the good intentions were there (imo) and he may have not executed them in the best way. HE COULD HAVE BEEN WAYYYY WORSE OKAY but he wasn't 😭 why he pushed isadora away, why he hated his brother so much, why he had such a hard time with control and anger, was all very understandable. i just loved the depth to his character and i think stellan is one of SAK's best MMCs. even though he didn't think he was worthy of isadora, he still did everything for her. she brought him out of his shell and he became so romantic, so swoony, and much happier and himself with her. and oooof don't even get me started on the possessiveness and protectiveness 🥵 isadora was with shepard and when she was walking she lightly banged her head on a door and he got PISSED AF because shepard wasn't looking out for her.

isadora holmes.
i really thought i was going to hate her for playing two brothers. i was fully expecting to read this and be enraged with her but to be honest, the drama was annoying, but it didn't bother me as much as i thought it would. mostly because shepard knew their relationship was fake from the beginning. was it childish? absolutely. but what can you do when she's literally 18? she has the most shitty parents, her parents aren't supportive of her career, they see her a slut even though she's not even kissed anyone yet, the man she's desperately in love with doesn't want her back, she's just trying to find her footing in this world. i mean, if i was her, i would feel like my life is in shambles too. as for the love triangle situation, i don't classify this as a love triangle because from the very first chapter, you know stellan is the man for her. she did not once experience more than friendship for shepard. it was dragged out too long for sure but for some reason i could make sense out of it? 🤣 you can't expected much from these absolutely hopeless characters that SAK writes.

the reasons why i disliked this book.

- shepard. shepard shit thorne.
what really made me feel off about this book was that shepard said he was “in love” with her and went even a far as proposing to her. and my poor juniper over here (his love interest and isadora's friend), must be heartbroken. i HATED shepard in this book. so it seems like isadora is stringing him along while being with stellan behind his back, but i didn't give two fucks. that man deserved it. i didn't have an ounce of sympathy for him. that may seem cold hearted but he was awful in this book. he treated isadora like shit and their "fake engagement" was garbage. he's out here in public kissing a random ass girl while being engaged to isadora. he would go so long without speaking to her, he'd rather sit with his friends and go out drinking than be with her...he obviously didn't REALLY give a shit about her. which is kinda crazy, because they are STILL BEST FRIENDS. since i ADORE stellan, i hated shepard automatically because shepard was a rude piece of shit to him. stellan may have shut shepard out of his life, but it was clearly for a reason. so what does shepard do? mocks him, teases him, taunts him, he sees stellan likes isadora, so he goes for her. so instead of trying to talk it out with him and see why his brother hates him so much, he just makes everything worse. BUT, he did help stellan realize that he can love isadora and be with her in the way they both deserve. i still hate him though 😒

- did shepard really love isadora?
if he did, he sure showed the complete opposite. how i think it will play out, based on how SAK writes her other books, 1. he may have loved her but once he's with juniper he's going to realize what he felt for isadora was nothing. or, 2. it was ALL a cover up (even shepard saying he loved isadora) to get stellan to finally realize that he's the right guy for isadora. based on shepard's actions in this, being LITERALLY THE WORST BOYFRIEND EVER, kissing a random girl while being engaged where anyone could catch him, and then the tease with him being up in juniper's personal space towards the end, seems like it could be option 2. or it may be a bit of both. anyway, he has a lot of GROVELLING to do on my end because i currently despise him, and think he's garbage boyfriend material. and just a 🗑️ person in general.

- the repetition and the long dialogues.
my gosh, SAK sure has a talent for this. the amount of times isn't he? isn't it? doesn't he? doesn't it? is said, jeez, it's gotta be a superpower to be able to write that in every sentence. all the characters talk the same in their own POVs, and the longggggggggggggggggggggg dialogues are killing me at this point. a whole page of one paragraph of isadora or stellen going on about something. like i get it, yall are obsessed with each other but do you really need a whole goddamn page to say one thing????? i skimmed so much of the dialogue.

anyway, if you are worried about the love triangle and a girl being between two brothers, it's not as bad as you think. as someone who hates both of those things, it didn't bother me (because i was too busy hating shepard's guts to be mad about it). expect unnecessary drama and hella TOXICITY though. and for all the characters not being able to make proper decisions and you'll be okay 😂

___________________

i didn’t necessarily hate it, but there was a few things i really disliked (especially Shepard, you fucking bitch 😭). however, it wasn’t nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be. more of my thoughts to come (rtc)!

Alright, let me start by saying that I had high hopes about it. I usually love Saffron A. Kent’s work, but wow, was I let down? I don't know what happened to her creativity thesedays. I get that Saffron A. Kent was going for a certain vibe with this one, but it missed the mark. To be fair, maybe this book just wasn’t for me. I’m sure there are people out there who might vibe with the pretentious storyline and distant characters and the slow-burn (if you can even call it that) romance. But honestly? I wish I’d spent my time on something else.

I gave this book an entire week and didn’t make it past 40%.

This has never happened to me with a Saffron book. I’m not sure why she has decided to skip over all the parts that make a reader invested in a couple, but I also felt like this with the last book. She skips the parts that would make me care. And I REALLY need to care if I’m gonna be able to feel invested in her brand of sexy. This just wasn’t it. It was waaaaay too insta. Their conflict didn’t make sense to me, and frankly they just came off as shitty people.

I am an SAK fangirl but I have not been overly impressed with the direction of her writing with any of the books after Conrad. But this is the first time I’ve had to give up. I normally gobble up her books in one sitting. And then start over again.

I hope she finds her mojo. She’s written some of my all time favorite 5-star rereads.

Let me preface this by saying I have adored Saffron Kent. I’m a huge fan of My Darling Arrow and all her work uptil that point. I was also fine with the Gorgeous villain. So I am genuinely sorry to say that I’m hate reading this book as I speak. I am not sure what is pissing me off more:
1. The complete misreading of Lolita (a super problematic choice on behalf of the author.)
2. The plot incoherence within the book (Homer was 14 and his fiancé was in kindergarten when their parents arranged their marriage but, ““every time Maple’s name was mentioned, back when we were in high school, he’d get a look in his eyes. A look that said that there was something that he felt.” 🫥 He felt something for a toddler when he was in high school?)
3. How ridiculously boring Isadora is. I am skip reading it by searching Shep’s and Jupiter’s names at this point. I am literally more interested in Stellan & Shepherd’s relationship than her plot, which shouldn’t be the case. Even glimpses of Jupiter is more interesting than her. She is the heroine! She was so boring, even her being the same ethnicity as me didn’t help. Her representation is wafer thin, just a grandmother who talks in Hindi & Punjabi, some bollywood movies being mentioned and a karwachauth in the end. Apu from Simpson has more nuance to him.
4. Hero being jealous of tampon was my last straw.

In my humble opinion all her heroines and heroes sound exactly the same. The plot feels like a photocopy of a photocopy that is starting to lose coherence and ink. Romance novels are largely character driven- most of the genre is your staple set of tropes. What makes it fun to read are the characters and their personalities, motivations and their banter. If all heroes are tortured, grumpy, older than the heroine. All of them who in the end realise that what they needs was a therapist. They all have the same internal voice. The are all caveman for their girls. What makes Conrad different from Stellan? Or Ledger different from Arrow?
The heroines suffer the same affliction. The misplaced guilt trope, the selfless, hapless and woe is me but Beauty is in suffering type creature who have no ounce of grit or touch with reality. I can’t believe that I’ve started to appreciate Wyn’s character of all girls she’s written after Salem. Even if Wyn was saddled with a middle-aged “guardian” hero, she at least had something more to her than sighing and gasping.
I say none of this with malice. If anything, I say it out of sadness. It’s sad to see a good author resort to lazy writing because it sells books. Quality vs. Quantity of releases is a serious topic for romance authors nowadays and Saffron seems to be a victim of it.

Unsurprisingly, a new book by Saffron A. Kent is often synonym to new favorite book, in my dictionary.

As a storyteller, she is one of a kind. A kind I absolutely adore and eat up every. Single. Time.

Oh, You're So Cold was no different.

I have been waiting (dying) for this book – and Stellan Thorne – ever since These Thorn Kisses, and they did not disappoint.

Stellan and Dora's forbidden love story is all angst and mutual pining and yearning and In. Sane. Chemistry.

It's testament to how consuming the book was that, even though it's a long one, I would've finished it in a day if I hadn't have to pause every 5 minutes to scream (not always internally), fan myself furiously and scream some more.

If you enjoyed other titles from this author, you will undoubtedly love this one.

I was honored to have received an ARC but I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you, SAK 🫶🏻

This was a miss for me. I never connected to the h or H and def didn’t connect to their relationship. It was too insta on both their ends and then a lot of the flirting and interacting in the beginning happened when the H is pretending to be his twin brother. It caused a disconnect for me. A big one. The only decent interactions in the beginning when the relationship is forming with the two of them, that aren’t just lying to each other, was when he was pretending to be the twin and it just threw everything off. I liked those interactions more than I liked any other interaction between them. Why was she so pleasant with “Shepherd” and so antagonistic with Stellan?? Even the calling him every time right after. It drove me crazy.

I didn’t like the way they used the h being with Shepherd and the engagement as a whole kink. It all felt so fake. The h knew she wasn’t going to marry Shepherd, but whenever she had the opportunity to bait and goad Stellan with the engagement she did. Was this supposed to read as forbidden and taboo? It didn’t read like that. They were never really hiding anything or sneaking around and the reader knows the whole thing was fake!! Idk, I just didn’t get this whole thing.

The daddy kink didn’t work for me here. That one scene, oh goodness 😵‍💫😵‍💫.

Overall this was just more cringe for me than anything. Them, the story, the sex. All of it.

The angst never hit right because the h was the one who caused the whole Shepherd mess to begin with. I couldn’t rectify the H with who I knew from the other stories.

This read love triangley but wasn’t actually a love triangle. I honestly would have liked this much better had she just been Shepherds girl first and Stellan had to steal her.

Overall: 2.5 but I’m not rounding up because it was so boring. That last half was rough. I thought I was going to dnf a few times. There just isn’t enough happening in this one that isn’t just the bullshit between the three of them. We needed some scenes that weren’t the same monotonous drama or just inner monologue to help this story. It’s too drawn out considering it was love at first sight for both of them.

Well, this book was addictive! Once you start reading, there’s no chance of putting it down until you get to the end of it! The intrigue in this book is next level!
We are talking about twin brothers loving the same girl and MY LORD, the tension was absolutely wrecking me!
Isadora meets Stellan on the night of her 18th birthday and it’s love at first sight! But Stellan “The Cold” Thorne is not entertaining her at ALL! Not because the feelings aren’t mutual, but because something happened in his past that made him close himself off from everyone around him and basically making him emotionless…
So Isadora finds his twin brother Shepard, dances with him, flirts with him gets close to him, becomes friends with him to make Stellan jealous! What she did not expect was for Shep to also fall in love with her… and there starts the mayhem!
Stellan and Isadora were so obsessed with each other, their chemistry was “IN.SANE” but they both hurt each other every step of the way until they could find their HEA, the problem was that in the process, they hurt others too, Shepard and… Jupiter 👀. (I’ll take their book now, thank you very much 🤣)
I still have conflicting feelings about Shepard and how he treated his own twin, goading him, embarrassing him… purposely hurting him… just to get a reaction! Yes, he wanted back his twin, and not this cold version of him, but I felt sick to my stomach by what Stellan had to endure. And again, yes, Shepard realised that he was in the wrong all this time, but it took him 22 years and a beating to figure it out! For now, he is on my 💩-list so I’m extra intrigued to read his story 🤣.

Thank you Saffron Kent and her team for the eARC 🩷🫶🏻

First I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to get this as an ARC, but I really tried to keep pushing through this, but I just couldn’t.
Both the mcs were insufferable to me. And I don’t know how to explain it but it felt like there was a lot of reiterating and confusing aspects. I just couldn’t get into it. I wonder if I had read some of the other books in this universe first if I could’ve gotten into it??

oh god i haven't read about such selfish and unlikeable main characters in a while.

fuck stellan and fuck isadora you are both trash and deserve each other!

idk what happened with the old SAK but if you've read her older books like The Unrequited or Medicine Man and compare them with her newer releases is as if someone else wrote this porn cringefest. i need a break.

“You're the girl who melted me. You're the element of nature. I will love you like you deserve to be loved. Recklessly. Thoughtlessly. Insanely. I will love you without any chains or rules.”

An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review

Oh, You’re So Cold follows the story of Isadora Holmes and Stellan, the Cold, Thorne. As she believes, for a matter of destiny, she first meets him on the day of her 18th birthday, and develops an obsession with him instantly. But he doesn’t give her the same kind of interest—or so she thinks—so she starts a long path of doing whatever it takes to get his attention and to melt his freezing heart—even if it takes pretending to date, and later, to be engaged to his twin brother.
Daughter of a very rich and emotionally absent couple, Isadora Holmes is a lovely, charismatic, smart young woman, who grew up feeling as a stranger in her own home, and never actually met love of any kind—except for the one her biji always gave her. She’s passionate about acting, about her Indian background and culture, about Bollywood movies and, of course, about her dream man. Stellan Thorne, also known as the Cold Thorne, is part of a soccer royalty family. Being the second oldest, most responsible and reliable sibling, he’s a cautious, quiet, intelligent, and serious man, who always ensures everyone he’s supposed to care for is taken care of, and always follows all the rules—that is, until where Dora is concerned. He also has a secret, no one knows and can ever learn about—a secret that made him who he is and is eating him up alive.
There are lies and tears, broken hearts and promises surrounding them and their story. But still, Stellan and Isadora are such a beautiful couple and their development is so great. They endured so much before finding each other. They were unseen and misunderstood, but when they met, it was like fate changed for them. Honestly, one is as crazy as the other. They have In. Sane. Chemistry as they match very well. They also take care of each other—even when they can’t see it. They had so many cute, lovely, jealousy, angsty, and spicy scenes for everyone to know and understand them.
I also very much like the family dynamics being shown and improving throughout the book. I loved to hear about Callie, and to meet Tempest, Ledger, Why, Conrad, and Shepard. And I mostly loved to see Stellan’s relationship with Conrad, who always trusted him more than anyone else—and believed in him when he couldn’t—, and with Shepard, his twin and nemesis. These two have had a bad relationship for way too long, but to see that they are finally trying to make it better was amazing, really.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book. Even hating love triangles, the one in this book was so well written that it actually worked. And if you know what I mean, you’ll understand what I’ll say: this was very clearly a Saffron A. Kent’s book. In every single little thing, every dialogue, part, and chapter, one can know it. Now, let’s be excited for A Wreck, You Make Me next!

Thanks to Saffron A. Kent, her PR team, and The Author Agency for giving me an ARC of this book.

This was a DNF at 30% for me.

The beginning had potential and I was really excited to see how it played out. Unfortunately, the FMC did not have any growth and she came across as extremely immature, manipulative and naive. While also being called a slut because she was flirtatious with men. I think what really bothered me was that she knew she was using men to get what she wanted and didn’t seem to have any remorse over it. And she’s doing that exact thing with the twin brothers.

The twins - I can see how Shepard might feel the way he does after a year, BUT the fact that he’s 26 to her 19 and young, good looking and rich?! I just don’t see him tagging along with the FMC friendship only vibes.
Stellan, I like. But he’s not enough to carry this whole book sadly. And I also find it hard that he at 26 would obsess this much over an immature 19yr old girl.

I went through a rollercoaster of emotions while reading Stellan and Isadora's book. It wasn't perfect by any means—in fact, their romance was more of a train wreck than anything but it worked in their favor. Their love story was messy, reckless, heartbreaking, and frustrating but I could feel the passion and desire they had for each other throughout the book. Some things worked for me while others were a bit strange. I eventually came to understand why Isadora had that particular kink because she did not come from a loving family and had a desperate need to be loved and cared for. Stellan was the perfect protector for her in that sense. I felt that the love triangle between Shepard, Isadora, and Stellan was also unnecessary because it caused a lot of tension and conflict between the characters. I do have to give props to Saffron Kent for being able to turn Stellan and Isadora's story around for me because I was yelling at their antics and almost gave up on them. They had an incredibly toxic relationship and kept hurting each other in the process.

“I’ve always considered her a threat. A threat to my peace. My control. My promise. A threat because she makes me feel things. She melts the ice around my heart.”

Isadora initially came across as an immature and reckless young woman who used Shepard to get to Stellan but it was more complicated than that. She never intended to let it get this far but it blew up in her face. On the other hand, Stellan had his own demons to fight and was more broken and tortured than I thought. He loved Isadora but felt unworthy of her because he always believed he was just like his father—a monster. His attempt at making Isadora fall out of love with him was laughable and would not work because feelings were already involved. I do have to admit that I loved Stellan and Isadora's sexual chemistry with each other. Their love scenes were so sexy. Despite my frustrations with these two, I was invested by the second arc of the book and wanted them to work. I was glad to see that Shepard came out of this ordeal unfazed because he was more focused on his own issues—specifically his supposed stalker Jupiter Jones, who we all know has been crushing on him forever. The author also hinted at Homer and Maple's potential love story and there were cameos from Ark and Byron as well.

“All I ever wanted was you to believe that. To believe that you could love me. That we deserve a chance. That’s all I wanted from you, Stellan. To just love me and let me love you.”

In the end, Stellan and Isadora's story was truly unexpected and I loved how everything came full circle in the end. Even though I was so mad and frustrated at them, they grew on me as I started to understand why they made certain decisions. I came to love their steamy moments, overprotectiveness, and craziness for each other. Stellan and Isadora's love for each other was ridiculous at times but it was an improvement over Ledger and Tempest for me personally. Fans of Saffron Kent and the St. Mary's Rebels series will not want to miss out on her latest release because it has all the tropes, spicy scenes, obsessive love, and writing that she is known for. Isadora's love for her wildfire Thorn and Stellan’s for his Lolita was all-consuming and unforgettable. I'm really looking forward to what the author has in store for Shepard and Jupiter's book next because I could feel the chemistry they had with each other in one particular scene near the end. It's going to be explosive since he is Stellan's twin after all.

I just finished Oh, You’re So Cold by Saffron Kent, and honestly, I liked how the writing felt a little less flowery this time (not by much, but it’s a start). I used to love Saffron Kent’s books back when I was a girl who felt too much and didn’t know how to express it. But as I got older, her writing stopped hitting the same way.
Still, I actually enjoyed this one. It’s a good book if you’re in the mood for poetic love confessions and a male lead who speaks with all the flourish of a romantic heroine (nothing wrong with that—it just made the story feel a bit less realistic at times). Overall, it was enjoyable.

- only reading to know if she slept with the other twin. If she did, that’s gonna change it all the way down to 1 star. But I don’t think she did. This author loves her tiny, small, ridiculous virgins
- oh she’s a virgin slut is she? WTF
- how is she so stupid and naive? In the worst way possible. This is a STRANGER. The car guy is also a stranger wtffff
- …. So she dates his twin KNOWINGLY??????????????????????
- you’re telling me that everyone THINKS they’re dating but she calls him her best friend???? HUHH???? Which also begs the question if shephard slept around during this “relationship”
- omgggg shephard is ACTUALLY in love with her??? WHAT ABOUT JUPITER wtfffffff
- YES IT IS YOUR FAUKT YOU WENT TO HIS TWIN BROTHER SND LED HIM KN TOO. SO MICH SO THAT HES IN LOVE WITH YOU
- he’s the head coach AND a player or did I misread??
- I really dislike shephard
- shephard actually being in love with Isadora makes this worse. I hate this so much. I
- i actually hate all these characters so much. She’s gonna say yes to shephard???? WHY?????? DIDNT SHE JUST SAY SHES FELL IN LOVE WITH STELLAN AT FIRST SIGHT??? WHY DATE HIS TWIN BROTHER IF YOUTR NOT IN LOVE WITH HIM????? WHYYY put EVERYONE THROUGH THAT??????
- she’s young fine but why is she so stupid????? And the twins are too old to be that stupid too
- MAYBE just MAYBE Stellan would want to be with you if you didn’t get into a relationship with his brother like 10min later
- omg… growing up and not being selfish DOES NOT MEAN TO KEEP LYING TO SHEPHARD
-I’m actually so pissed and I’m only 18% in. WHY WOULD HE WANT YOU WHEN YOU IMMEDIATELY WENT AND PURSUED HIS BROTHER. YOU DIDNT EVEN GIVE STELLAN A CHANCE
- wow. Just when I thought it could get any worse, Stellan will pretend to be shephard. GREAT. Will she think she’s falling in love with shephard to add more shit on this shitty cake of characters
- does shephard not know Isadora likes Stellan when he clearly knows Stellan likes her…
- oh you care SOOO much about how the brothers don’t get along yet you’re willing to be the main reason for it. Great. Maturity.
- I like that Stellan is being an asshole but he’s absolutely in the right of all this. She’s the one who started this mess and kept it going for a YEAR.
- I hate this Stellan pretending to be shephard trcting thibg. I hate it I hate it I hate it
- also it’s shephard phone so where is he??does he think he lost if???
- every FUCKIN TIME this girl says Stellan had a year to get her I get SO FUCKIN MAD. BECAUSE MO HE DIDNT. HE LIKE THE REST OF THE WORLD THOIGHT YOURE DATING HIS TWIN BROTHER
- I want Stellan to date someone and hurt her back
- she hasn’t talked to shephard since last night and misses? What? I’m confused. She just found out last night that it was actually Stellan she was talking to the entire month
- okay I’m confused. She thinks shephard was doing her homework and encouraging even though she found out literallt the night before that it was Stellan with shephard phone the entire time? I’m so confused
- there’s no DUCKIN WAY SHE AGREES RO MARRY HIM NO FUCKIN WAY
- I’m really fuckin confused. Didn’t she already find out that he was pretending to be shephard before her play. Why is he telling shephard that when she finds out she’ll be upset.
- well. Atleast shephard asking to marry her and everyone knows all the truths
- why the fuck would Shepard propose? He hasn’t even KISSED her
- you won’t tell Stellan that you’re breaking the engaged without telling shephard forst, but you WILL fuck him. Great logic
- ya shephard. How does proposing to her get them together
- there’s no way shephard thinks the best way for Stellan to get “his head out of his ass” is by staying engaged….
- oh and it’s also punishment for Stellan??? WHY WOULD YOI AGREE TO THIS ISADORA????????,?,?? YOUR LOYALTY SHOULD BE TO STELLAN NOW. WHY WOULD YOU AGREE TO CONTINUE THE ENGAGEMENT JUST SO SHEPHARD CAN FEEL A LITTLE BETETR
- The thing I hate most about everything is the stupid monologues these characters go on. WHYYYYYY? But the worst so far is him monologue as two people are watching them have sex WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I’M CRINGING SO FUCKING HARD.
- great logic Stellan
- I don’t care the reason. His beating the FUCK out of his brother is NOT protecting you Wtff.

I think each book has gotten worse over the last couple years. I think I’m done with this author. The leaps of logic this author takes, the stupidity of the characters, the FUCKIN MONOLOGUING OMGGGGGG. i cant deal with it anymore. After this one, I don’t even care about the others for this series

So it's a wrap on Oh, You're So Cold by Saffron Kent.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I was fortunate enough to receive an arc of this book and I this book in one sitting. That's crazy! Thankyou Saffron and keep writing epic books like this

My emotions are running high right now. This book hit so close to home. Had so many relatable references that made this book one of my top favourite books.

The tropes in this book were:
✅Sunshine FMC
✅Grumpy MMC with anger issues
✅Possessive Hero
✅Hilarious Banter
✅Look at her/Touch her and You Die
✅Abusive Parents
✅Cheating (Main Characters)
✅Soccer Romance
✅Daddy Kink 🪢
✅Hot as hell Spice 🔥🔥

Isadora is a girl with Indian American heritage portrayed so beautifully by Saffron, I'm floored.

She wants to be an actress inspired by her Biji/ grandmother who also wanted to be an actress but didn't get to Purdue her dreams.

On the night of her 18th birthday Isadora meets Stellan Thorn, the male protagonist. Their first meeting is epic, it sets a tempo for the rest of the book.

Now Stellan is an assistant Coach who gets promoted to head coach of a soccer team owned by Isadora's father. He is aloof, quiet, reserved and quite literally an asshole! But he makes amends and we love a redemption story!

Both Dora and Stellan have had history abusive parents. So please read the list of trigger warnings before you proceed!

Coming back to the lovers! The night they meet each other Dora believes Stellan to be her destiny. She asks him to kiss her and he being the cold asshole refuses.

Taking the hurt Isadora goes after Stellan's twin brother Shepherd. They pretend to date for a year when in fact they are just close friends. This was Dora's way to get back at Stellan for rejecting her.

Things start to happen between Dora and Stellan when Stellan steals Shepherd's phone and starts texting and calling Dora.

Read the book to find out what happens next!!!!

I rated this book 4 star because it was a very good romance book. The one star is removed because of the cheating aspect of the book. I don't like it or condone it in any shape or form. Plus I feel I could relate to Dora so much. All the movie references were classic Bollywood movies.

Biji is one of the most funny elder characters I have ever read in a book. She was funny, sensitive, sensible, supportive and most importantly she was a friend to Isadora. She made me remind of my own grandmother. Representation of Indian culture in this book was amazing and we need more books like this!!

Saffron you did it again! Waiting for you to drop the rest of the books of this series!! Loves you books 😘

Were these characters over the top? Yes.
Were they flawed? Oh yeah.
Were the dialogues long and cheesy? Yup.
But I was utterly hooked. It's a huge book and I finished it in two days! So you can imagine how easily it captivated me!
Lots of angst. Lots of unrequited love. Lots of dirty talking and lots of steam.

Now I am excited for Shepard's book.

If you love this author's writing, you will love this one too. Go ahead and meet Stellan & Isadora!

I never thought a day would come where i wud say that I disliked the characters in saffron’s book 🥲, and even the plot :3.
Man oh mannn, this book and the characters, got on my bloody nerves. Stellan was everything “too much” , and not in a nice way. Saffron in her quest to give us the most over-possessive MMC ended up givin a cringeworthy MMC, who was such a freaking hypocrite, full of double standards. He himself was so confused with his life, with his illogical and irrational temper tantrums and jealousy , that instead of being a hot dominant possessive MMC, he was just a cringeworthy, wrong in the head , was trying- too-much MMC.
And Jesus don’t get me started with the FMC.
I cringed soo soo hard at some of the dialogues , that i had to put down the book and take a deep breath or i wud have died from the second hand embarassment .
I have read and loved all the books in the st Mary’s rebels series and even the first book of BARDSTOWN series but this book was not at all up to the mark .
The cringeworthy daddy kink, the over the top anger and jealousy , was fucking corny. Stellan was just a bloody dumbass mf who needed a few advices from his twin rather than trying to be a fucking macho and keeping silent all his life bcoz he thought he is such a big bad beast 😒( he is just a pussy btw).

I think i need to stop or i Will again get pissed and end up giving this book a 1 star.

Saffron, just try to take the cringey- ness down a notch please. Just bcoz we fellow readers love over the top possessive jealous men, doesn’t mean u will give us a badly written character who has the audacity to cheat with his twin’s gf but then gets pissed that his twin is talking to a random girl, who fucks his twin’s gf and gets angry that his twin isn’t protecting the so called gf bcoz she “accidentally” banged her head on a door. Who thinks the only way to make sure the gf gets over him is by fucking her daily, behind his twin’s back and still forcing his twin to marry her?!?!?!

Goodness lord, now I seriously need to stop. But mannn, what a clusterfuck this story was, disgustingly appalling characters.

Saffron is back! I have been waiting for this book ever since we got a hint of this Amazing couple in her previous books. This semi trope which is brother’s girlfriend is something that this author has not written before and I was here for all the angst!! The steam in this book is unlike anything I have ever read by this author. Yes all her heroes are crazy but this one was just something else lmao.

Just from this single book I know that this series is going to be so amazing! We get so many hints of the upcoming couples and many cameos of the past couples too which I highlighted like crazy.

Definitely recommending this one to all the taboo , forbidden romance , kinky romance lovers out there. This one was a contemporary romance with lots of angst!

I have been curious about the stories of the Thorne brothers for a long time, but Saffron Kent has tackled the remake of her old books in this series in the worst way. Isadora was one of the most cringe-worthy and delusional character I have read in 2024 so far. Normally, I should be excited about future books, but I can’t stop thinking about how badly she will handle Jupiter and Shepard. I am very sorry; I wish this series had been completely rewritten. I feel like I have lost one of my favorite authors.
