Was a quick read, the story line was good however the ending was very rushed and personally didn’t like the fact she wasn’t believed and was accused. Hence 2 stars..
The romance and angst were good, but the ending felt rushed, and there were some details that didn't make sense. The biggest one that bothered me was Kali being allergic to apples, yet her and her friends went to an apple orchard and had apple cider. Seems like an oversight.
Kali and Robbie have the cutest dynamic! I enjoyed their sweet, innocent moments and enjoyed this read.
A few spoilers coming your way so read at your own risk!
Kali is Robbie’s secretary and is in love with him. She doesn’t want to say anything because she knows it’s against policy to have that sort of relationship but she can’t let him go. This is not a typical trope I read, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I was a little annoyed at Kali because it seemed like all she did was run away from her problems instead of facing them. For someone who was cheery and positive all the time, she sure hated a lot of things.
There was a part where she goes to the concert and Ravi is excited about it but she’s all like, “I want to go.” And Ravi’s implying he’s gonna stay because he’s been waiting so long to see them and he says, “I mean, you get it right?” She thinks to herself, I don’t, but I pretend like I do and that it’s no big deal. You mean to tell me she’s never been excited to see someone in concert? At this point I just thought she was inconsiderate and a bit of a brat. That was my least favorite part of the book.
Ravi was a letdown, though. I thought there would be more to his story. I was kind of rooting for him, hoping it would add a bit of a competition between him and Robbie. I mean it did a bit, but it didn’t go the way I hoped for.
Her dates were hilarious. They just kept getting worse and it’s like the universe was telling her she would find no one else lol.
Robbie was one of the nicest MMCs I’ve ever read. I wish there was a bit more from him, though. He was a gentleman and professional around her.
I loved the revelations at the end. The ending was not one I expected, but I’m glad it ended the way it did.
Overall, I enjoyed this read. I read like 200+ pages in one day and that’s not typically my pace but it just kept me invested.
Soft romance, Kali is in love with her boss Robbie, working together for two years she has secretly kept her feelings to herself, wishing that one day the feelings may be mutual. Sweet story following them trying to work out what is between them and can it cross the professional lines and not interfere with Kali's career dreams. Tiny bit of spice!
The ending was ok, and it was not a spicy romance. It was sweet though. The conflict was excellent, how it was handled was not though. Either way I enjoyed this read very much
