Rate this book
Feelings are messy, and we all have different strategies to deal with them--usually shutting them down or letting them run amok. But what if emotions weren't our enemy but instead, a gift? With a collection of prayers and liturgies to give you voice for every emotion, spiritual director Anjuli Paschall shows that feelings aren't a hindrance to the abundant life, but a pathway to it. Aided by 26 beautiful illustrations, Anjuli gives you language to pray through the six core emotions and the 75 most common feelings you experience, inviting you on a journey to· identify and stay present with your feelings· recognize your temptations and powerfully manage them· wake up to the gentle presence of God and where He is in the situation· discern how you're being invited into love and move toward itInstead of navigating around your feelings, you can use them as a path to prayer, healing, wholeness, and abiding connection with God that you long for.

This is such a helpful little prayer book!!! If you are unsure how you’re feeling, or how to talk honestly with God about how you’re feeling, this will help. There have been several times when my husband or I have picked this up and found the exact words that resonate with what we are working through. Pretty sure it’s Internal Family Systems inspired. I’ve gifted it to several friends.

Discover the transformative power of emotions with Anjuli Paschall’s collection of prayers and liturgies. Learn to embrace your feelings as a path to healing and wholeness, using them to connect deeply with God. Accompanied by 26 stunning illustrations, this guide helps you navigate your emotional landscape with grace and spiritual insight.

Feelings are a gift. I don’t think I truly understood that until I worked my way through several of these liturgies over the past few weeks.

When I felt hopeful while preparing a night of prayer for the Young Adult ministry I’m launching, I was reminded that my hope rests in God, not in the numeric outcome of an event.

When I felt amazed that this Bookstagram account reached a new milestone, I was prompted not to bind my soul in folly.

When I felt dread about letting a guy down (it made me want to ghost 🙈), I was encouraged to let the words of my mouth be a true reflection of my heart.

When I felt insecure after a workout class, grace met me in my gaps.

Whatever you’re feeling, these liturgies guide you to steward the emotion, not pray it away. Feel + Liturgies for Wholeness have become my two primary resources for staying present.

Thank you @bethanyhouse_nonfiction for the ARC 💛 what a special resource.

I absolutely LOVED this book! I will definitely be coming back to it many times in the future! It is such a beautiful and comforting book. It feels like a friend sitting with you in the messiness of life, reminding you that it’s okay to feel everything you’re feeling. Each prayer and reflection is so honest and relatable, offering hope without ever feeling forced or overbearing.

What I love most is how real and down-to-earth it is. It doesn’t shy away from tough emotions like sadness, anger, or doubt but instead brings them into the light with so much grace. I will definitely find myself coming back to certain pages on days when I don’t know how to pray or process what I am feeling. This book is like a hug for your soul. Whether you’re celebrating, struggling, or just trying to figure things out, this book meets you right where you are. It’s such a gift, and I’d one hundred percent recommend it to anyone who needs some encouragement and a reminder that God is with us in all of it. 🙂

NOTE: I listened to the audiobook version of this read by the author and it was super comforting. I’d recommend reading the physical book while listening to the audiobook at the same time.

I want to buy this book for everyone I know. It is a beautiful and also incredibly practical tool to help you recognize your emotions and enter into them with God’s help.

The book covers over 70 emotions and gives each one a specific liturgy to help name and unpack the feeling. They are insightful, thought-provoking, and Biblically-framed. Each one is a reminder to me that God sees us and He cares about how we feel. Our emotions are a gift that lead us to Him if we will let them.

This book came into my life at a perfect time (thanks to hearing about on Dr Alison Cook’s podcast), and it’s probably going to become one of those nightstand books that I keep close. Beautifully done and spiritually rich. Highly recommend!

A great resource. At Bravester I often say "All emotions lead us to God." This book supports that with liturgies to match. We will be using this weekly at my church.
