Oh my gosh please don't kill me. Okay I love the series this is tied to and the author is great by donating their profits to charity, so it hurts me to rate this so low. However I have my reasons. So first of all it's something I love: the very easy to read writing style and overall plot of this book its a great concept along with that the short chapters wonderful everyone loves short chapters.
However the short chapters is also what gets me, I would have loved to see the love story of Mac and Hattie played out more and have it really make me feel for these characters and support the relationship, they meet in chapter 2 and by chapter 5 there's a year time skip I would've loved a bit more of their love story and really see how the two develop feelings. Then there is part 2 where we have two different points of view and there are points where I thought less time has passed then it had I don't know how to describe this but everything I feel just felt a bit rushed one of the death of the Vampire's didn't hold much weight to me as it probably should have because everything was happening so quick I would've loved if the book slowed down and really developed these characters.
But like I had said earlier I love the series that ties into this novel but all I wish is that this novel itself would slow down a little to develop these relationships that I should care about.
