Herrick's Key

Becareful what you witch for…

Ollie is back on the Brickside, and he’s living on borrowed time.

He thought his mission was Follow the clues and find the key. Fast.

But when the “clues” are enigmas written in blood and the “key” has been split into pieces and scattered around Boston, it doesn’t take long for that mission to crumble like a North End cookie.

The trail leads Ollie deep into the underbelly of the city’s most recognizable landmarks and beyond—all the way back to the place where the trouble began. Herrick’s home. The place of his sin.

Salem.

The answers are out there, somewhere. And Ollie intends to find them. But first, it seems, he’ll have to decipher codes, infiltrate the world’s most unlikely coven, survive brutal betrayals, see the unseen, solve riddles, commune with turtles, walk with ghosts, and maybe even learn to fly, all in an effort to uncover the clouded truths of the past.

Water, earth, air. Three points make one key.

The key, he knows, will open the door.

What he doesn’t yet know? Some doors should never be opened.

This is one of THE BEST trilogies I have ever read!

Things come to a climatic and nail-biting end in this final installment of The Neath trilogy by T.M. Blanchet. Will Ollie be back in time to save Tera and Meatball? Ollie is more powerful than he realizes, but will he discover what it all means in time to save those he cares for most?

There's lots of twists and turns that will leave your jaw on the floor and having your second guessing everything you thought you knew.

Ollie needs to find "the key" and fast. But where is the key? The key is what will break the spell that George Herrick cast so long ago.

I couldn't read this fast enough but at the same time I took my time because I felt so connected to these characters that I didn't want the story to end.

I laughed. I cried. I got a bit frustrated. I felt everything. And the fact that I could feel everything that the characters felt is the reason I will recommend these books to everyone and anyone who will listen.

The Neath trilogy will go down as some of the best books I have ever read.

I really hope that the author writes more books because I will read anything she writes!

We go back to the beginning, before the Neath existed, in the time of the Salem Witch Trials. Present day Ollie is met with messages from witches, with the task of saving Tera while following clues that bring him back to the brickside. Laszlo joins him and he has to concur many obstacles testing him both mentally and physically to gather three seeds. He has to go to a spot of his childhood, to a spot where it all began and a spot that matches clues with numbers. He is able to see what others can’t, meets some unique characters and faces people of his past. In the end it’s a battle of good vs evil and you’ll have to tune in to see who wins!

Ollie has left the Neath and returned to Brickside, on a quest to save Tera and stop Herrick once and for all…

The conclusion of this creative and magical trilogy was fantastic. The world-building was detailed and unique, and the clever riddles kept Ollie moving at a great pace.

This was a whimsical, funny and thought-provoking trilogy, exploring cruelty, suffering, vengeance, empathy, and forgiveness.

Highly recommend!

"Herrick's Key" was my favorite book of the trilogy. From the start, it felt more confident and plot-driven, with a clear momentum that carried through to the end. Ollie, the main character, really came into his own here. After watching him grow across the earlier books, it was so rewarding to see him step into this story with more confidence and less of the self-deprecating doubts that defined him at first.

The book delivered some clever twists along the way, and the resolution managed to feel both satisfying and thought-provoking. I appreciated that the story didn't shy away from the central conflict (I'm thinking of you Twilight final battle!) and it was resolved in a really interesting way that was true to Ollie's character and journey.

As a conclusion to the trilogy, "Herrick's Key" tied everything together beautifully. It was engaging, well-paced, and gave the characters the ending they deserved. A fantastic finish to the series.
