🪄 🗡️ 🪞 💕 🌶️

Romantasy, Adventure, Parallel Universes.

✨ I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review on my social media platforms.✨

Follow the life of Amelia as she lives in 2 separate worlds. Gaia is the world she’s always known. Married to the love of her life but struggling with infertility, she undergoes a procedure only to wake up in an entirely different world called Grimrokk. Not only is Grimrokk wild & beautiful it has monsters lurking about and everyone is now looking to Amelia to vanquish them.

I can honestly say I loved this book and that it exceeded my expectations. I loved the love story, I loved the action, I loved the characters, and I even love that it made me cry for the last 20 pages. This had all the elements of a good fantasy novel and the detail was wonderful. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

"Holy smokes!" is the reaction that comes to mind upon reading this book's opening. The author's vivid descriptions allowed me to visualize and experience every moment of the story. The main character, Amelia, was both strong and relatable, and the plot was truly engrossing. I found myself on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what would happen next. It's a well-written, original piece that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I can't wait to read more from the author. I highly recommend both the story and the author.

It was my pleasure to receive a free copy of this book but that does not in any way affect my opinions in this review of this entertaining story.

This was such a wonderful experience, the way the author takes you through the main character’s journey, it literally felt like I was transported into this world.

“I’ve gone all in, you’ve got the next move.”
It had amazing world building, the romantic aspect along with the adventure they had to overcome.

I wanted to keep my surprises to a maximum, and purposely dove in blindly.
The way Amelia took it in stride, despite her own struggles and pain, was admirable.

There is a moment in this book, where I literally felt like I walked through a secret passage and entered a new reality.

If you enjoy romantasy, with beautifully crafted world and characters who tug on your heart strings.

This is definitely for you! And I recommend you check it out.
Especially during this holiday time.

You’ll find yourself enticed by the vibes & the side characters, but mainly because of the way its mixture of realism in a place of possibilities.

I received an arc and I’m leaving a voluntary honest review!

Thank you so much for letting me join you in this quest!
And can’t wait for what you’ll bring us next!

Behold the masterful prose of Maria Von Rummelhoff, who weaves a tale of wondrous romance in her five-star epic, "Magic of Night." This enchanting tome tugs at the heartstrings, evoking emotions that ripple through the very essence of your being. The story follows the intertwined paths of two soulmates, Mia and Majliv, as they strive to overcome the universe's obstacles and create a family of their own. These kindred spirits, both trapped in a world of unfairness, are relatable in their beauty and determination. Through their unwavering love and tenacity, they blaze a trail of hope and triumph, inspiring all who read their tale.

I have to say this was a very interesting and unique book. I loved how the author's story followed the impossible journey of trying to conceive children after getting married, but she did it with a fantasy twist that was delightful. All the action and adventure from the fantasy world kept you turning the pages.

I have known several individuals who have gone through IVF, IUI, and surgical procedures in order to have children. The hormone therapy all the way to how they also felt when people would ask when they were having kids was spot on in this beautiful book.

The ending to this book was perfect. I also loved that it was based around Christmas time in both Gaia and Grimrok because it is one of my favorite holidays.

I highly recommend this for anyone who loves fantasy mixed with reality. Very beautiful story. It's definitely an amazing read.

This book is sweet,at least for... The love between the mane character's that between our world and the dreams world are very thin, but we must be careful about what we talk in the two world. I enjoyed very much this book

Please check your trigger warnings before you read this book. This book is unlike anything I have ever read before. I really enjoyed all of the characters and the character growth. As someone who struggles with infertility I did have to take my time reading this at times but overall I really enjoyed this book.

Magic of the Night is three stories in one, woven together into a charming tale.

Story one follows Amelia and William as they try to get pregnant in our realm.

Story two follows Mia and Majliv as they discover one another in another realm called Grimrokk, a place haunted by Larnia and a curse.

The third story follows on from both and covers what happens when the curse is triggered.
For the first story, the getting pregnant. It’s sensitively handled. But it’s not where the action lies.
Grimrokk is a land where dreamers can go, a magical land where everyone has a magical ability.
Amelia goes there in her dream, unusually arriving when she is an adult. Most people find their way there as children. Her ability is to render those around her unconscious using only her voice. This is the same ability as Larnia. Larnia is a monster who consumes children, usually before they are born resulting in a land where children are absent. With a prophesy that Mia will rid the land of Larnia, she is hunted by those in Larnia’s camp. Grimrokk’s world is built during this part. It is well detailed, sometimes a little bluntly, but we get a feel for what a place this is with transitions between summer and winter coming in a heartbeat. It’s populated with a large cast of characters who come alive in Maria’s writing. There is a curse in Grimrokk. If you discover who somebody is on Gaia (out realm) one of you will be banished from Grimrokk and one will be banished from Gaia. The body stays behind but is unconscious.

One character, Majliv can control energy. Here we have your Fantasy romance. The fact Mia (as Amelia) has William in Gaia doesn’t stop her lusting after the muscled, handsome Majliv. Their relationship blossoms.

To describe the plot any further would mean throwing spoilers in.

The three strands of plot come together in the last third, and it is great. Some of Maria’s best writing comes in this period.

The start of the book, the world building, the scene setting, switching between the worlds… it plodded at times, but never enough to make me want to stop reading. More it felt like the story was building up to something, piece by piece. And it did.

Not all the plot points came as a surprise. Some I figured out long before the characters. But I didn’t mind.

All in all, this is a rather decent portal fantasy, and I am glad Maria selected me as an ARC reader for it.

Okay, so this is a tough review for me because I follow this Author and I really like her. To start…. I bought the hard cover special edition which is probably one of the most beautiful books I own and I own a lot of special edition books! I’m not really sure how I go back to books with white pages and black lettering. The black pages with white lettering, was brilliant! That being said, there were a lot of grammar and spelling errors. I was so distracted by them I started putting tabs on every page that had an error. The first being a spelling error on the back of the book. It reads "the man how saved her” and it was supposed to be "the man who saved her”. This being the first thing someone sees when deciding if they want to buy it. If I saw that at the bookstore I would have put it down and walked away. I’m not sure who the editor was but they should be fired! Now, the story was really good. I found myself thinking about it when I wasn’t reading. For a book to grab me like that it has to have something special. I did figure out who Majliv was very early on in the story but it was fun to find out I was correct. The Author is not from America so English is her second language (I believe) and I wonder if this may be why the writing was so choppy and had so many errors. Also, if you’re going to write about hospital procedures here in the US I think she should have done more research because the way she wrote is not how it’s done here in regards to surgeries and the "Organ Donors” program. Unfortunately, I have intimate knowledge on both. Needless to say it was still a very good book and I would definitely buy another book from her.

Magic Of The Night has it all: Fantasy, romance, parallel universe and adventure.

This was such an amazing book to read, especially because I'm from Norway and grew up with the folklore that some of the characters are inspired by and it made me connect so much more with the story. I could clearly see the characters in my head when I read the book and for me that is sometimes really hard but Maria wrote this book so perfectly that it was all easy to visualize.

The worldbuilding is one of the best I have read about in a long time and I love the names of the places as well.

I was hooked from the moment I started reading about Amelia and her journey to make her biggest dream come true, to become a mother.

I love how well all the characters are described and the way I clearly knew from the moment a character was introduced into the story, if I liked them or not.

I have been giggeling, screaming in my head, bursting out in laughter, curling my toes in excitement and yelling in anger while reading this masterpiece.

All in all this was a perfect book, I would highly recommend reading it❤️

This was such a rewarding book to read! I wanted to cry with happiness in the end!Amelia (also known as Mia) travels between two worlds. Asleep in one while awake in another. In both worlds she faces overwhelming hardship. In the known and normal world, referred to as Gia, Amelia and her husband Will struggle to get pregnant and nearly give up hope. In the magical and terrifying world of Grimrock, Mia (Amelia) and her friends, fight against a dark force that threatens the existence of all future generations! She also battles with her increasingly unavoidable attraction towards Majliv while in the magical world of Grimrock. But as it turns out, her relationship to both her cherished husband, Will, and her destined lover, Majliv, is a key to lifting a centuries-old curse that affects both worlds significantly!

Wow! Just wow! I really loved the constant adventure, high risks, and adversity that these characters had to overcome. Definitely a book I would read again and I don’t often find books I want to read a second time.

ARC review
A fantasy book you can imagine living. The overall feeling of the book was wonderful. I enjoyed every second of it, and if there was a bad thing about it, it would be, that there isn't more of it. Fabulous world building with lots of details that make the new world feel familiar and homey.
The characters are lovable, yet human in their nature. With a strong female main character, this book got to my top reads of last year. Finally a miscommunication trope, that actually made sense.
The writing is neat, wonderfully simple which helps the story flow right into your heart.
Although the pace of the book lacked dynamic in some places. It was such a fast paced book, that by the time we got to the peek points, I felt exhausted and there was nothing to intensify, because the pace already was on it's peek.
Overall, I'm very excited to read more books of Maria Von Rummelhoff.

I refuse to spoil a thing for this book. It was written wonderfully. I was completely immersed in Amelia's (FMC) story. This book has magic, love, loss, adventure, monsters, and all the feels you'd hope to get with a fantasy book. I was on the edge of my seat!
I'd recommend anyone to read this book. I look forward to reading more by Maria.

I am so grateful to have been able to read this as an ARC.

Okay, so as much as I loved the book, the plot, and everything else, parts of it were predictable, and the book really left me wanting more. Now, I know the last part is actually a good thing because it leaves it open for more books in the series, but there was something about the plot there that was missing for me. 10/10 will read the next book (if there is one) rating is a 4.5* only because of the predictability.

Very unique story

Definitely recommend I have yet to encounter another book like this. I really enjoyed the storyline. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are a few parts that are a little difficult to follow. Otherwise I absolutely loved it and would be interested in reading a book about the children.

I really liked this book. I hope there is a sequel. There is a bit of spice but it isn’t too detailed or long winded.
