Written as though the intended audience were in elementary school, except for the explicit sex scenes. There is so much wrong with this story that I don't know where to begin, or if I even want to. Nope, don't want to. Wasted enough of my time already just reading it.

Totally Unexpected

This was a totally unexpected reading experience and I am very grateful for that. I was expecting the typical stereotype for 2nd chance, rancher, billionaire, fake relationship, best friend's sister trope...IT WASN'T!
As you get into the normal expected story set up, a mystery appears. Their love story builds as the mystery does to. More questions than answers come to light, and dangers build around them as they try to discover a deadly secret from their small towns past. You will get sucked in to the past as they uncover a secret that affects both of families and the town. HEA guaranteed! So do read.

loved it!

Absolutely love, a rancher and second chance romance book, especially when it’s a best friend sister! I loved everything about this book and especially the characters and I’m just an absolute suck for a best friend sister. I will say in some points this book is a little bit slow paced however, the slow paced parts do an integral part to the underlying storyline. I love the plot as you definitely didn’t see where that was going at first, which definitely intrigued me and I absolutely loved both characters and thought they were amazing and very mature with how they dealt with their past relationship.

Suspenseful romance

Wow! I did not see that coming! Everything from pain, regret, love, lies, and murder.

Tales of Silver Creek's folk tails, daunting tunnels, exploration mines, ghosts, and decades long double murder by it's own sheriff, and what about the old oak tree...

- "no matter how the pieces fall, just remember that some things are worth fighting for."

I am reading all three books to this series. I love books that are about love and romance, but also suspense and "who done it" type of stories.

Jennifer Rivers is new to me as a reader, and I've only read one other book by this author, a one day read: 'Straight Up Single Dad'.

Enjoy and happy reading!

The Rancher's Fake Fiance is a story about family and love. If you are expecting a regular cowboy story this one will keep you on the edge of your seat as the story twists and turns take you through a plot of murder, lies, and deceit. This is a goon second chance romance. The characters are very well written and you will feel like you know Luke and Lexi. This author had a way with words and I would highly recommend this book.

a story of a log time ago

Wow! Thought I was going to read a cowboy story. Instead a mystery with many twists and turns, stops and starts as well as a maze of underground tunnels with secrets. Lexi was easy to follow and feel like you were right along in the story with her. Luke and Jake were also very likable characters. Great story.

This was a fun book to read, I enjoyed the mystery and backstory of the Town of Silver Creek. The author did a great job building the connection between the main characters Lexi & Luke which made their encounters quite steamy! Great book for a vacation escape. Looking forward to my next read by Jennifer Rivers!

Poor example of wrigu

This book was poorly written. Disjointed, predictable, and filled with strange wording. If I weren't OCD I'd have quit reading rather quickly. An unfortunate pick, just glad I didn't pay for it.

DF

Took many things that didn't make sense to me. Spoiler: first if his ranch has been in the family for generations so that would tie him to the town. A fake fiance doesn't seem like anymore track. The list just goes on frm there and didn't add up for me.

DNF 18%. I echo the comments about bizarre reason for a fake engagement and about the writing style. I give up on this one…

Sometimes fate takes pity and gives a second chance but that second chance doesn’t come without a price of learning the truth when the past comes back proving answers to questions that should have stayed buried. Lexi and Luke grew up together, fell in love but she wanted to continue her education leaving for school meant leaving Luke and so feeling it best they break up seeing the years they would be separated which hurt Lexi she took it that Luke was willing to just let her go without a fight. Luke understood why she needed to continue her education although she thought he didn’t care enough to fight for their love when it was just the opposite, he loved her enough to let her do what she needed to be complete but when a death brings her back giving them both a second chance to understand why she felt the need to leave and why he actually let her go all while figuring out a mystery from the past that involved both their families that ended up dividing the townspeople but will they figure it all out, where will it leave them, will she understand why he let her go, will he understand why she had to leave, and will they grab the second chance at happiness fate has given them?
