Seiichi Kurusu and Nao Seto are officially dating and living together. Even though they share a home now, their busy jobs have made it difficult for them to spend time together. When Seiichi reveals that his father has been trying to set him up with marriage interviews, Nao realizes that he doesn't want to let Seiichi go. With Seiichi's position as the eldest son set to inherit his father's company, will they be able stay together forever?
Ahhh, this was pure fluff!! I worried for nothing, this was just more super sweet, super cute lovey-dovey romance. These two are adorable mature couple goals. The communication was *chefs kiss* and I really loved the scene with the CEO Dad (it was refreshing!). 🥰
In Volume 1, Nao had just been told by his Senpai that he was getting married. Seichi had already seen Nao once. He sat him down and asked him why he was crying. Seichi realized he looked like Nao's Senpai so offered him a temporary solution. As that came to an end, both realize their feelings and Seichi asks if they might continue on with no end in sight. Nao is nervous but they are both so much happier even though Seichi is crazy busy. Seichi is also trying to prevent the marriage proposals his father sends. One day Seichi forgets a paper but Nao brings it. Seichi's father insists on driving him home. He was honest that he lived with Seichi as his boyfriend and they were very much in love. His father asks him to keep this secret. I don't want to give it all away but I will say if you love m/m manga especially ones that are slightly erotic this one is your cup of tea. In most manga from Japan, private areas are white out and you only see the hair or bodily fluids released. In this, you see it ALL! Very romantic, very erotic, but extremely enjoyable and entertaining!
I read the first volume ages ago when it wasn't licensed for English release yet, but I didn't realize there was a second volume until I went to pick up a copy of the official English release of the first volume.
I remember that I've always liked Seiichi; he knows what he wants, and he works for it, though he isn't pushy. He is gentle with Nao and understands that Nao needs to move on at his own pace. At the same time, I admire Nao for learning to stand up for his own self. I appreciate that the resolution of the conflict in the first volume - the one with Nao and his senpai - did not directly involve Seiichi at all. It wasn't Seiichi who fixes everything for Nao; he simply gave Nao the strength to put himself first.
In the same vein, this sequel volume is gentle. It's still high on the heat scale - and I think there's a sex scene in almost every chapter - but there is little conflict and lots of maturity with our main characters. This isn't the most revolutionary manga ever, but every once in a while you find yourself wanting to read something easy and sweet, and this series definitely hits that spot.
Did you love the first volume of Cover My Scars With Your Kiss? The second volume is here with even sweeter moments!
This works so well because it doesn’t drop a bucket of unnecessary drama on you. The scenes we get were mentioned in the first volume and I’m glad they stuck to the formula. Compared with Volume 1, however, the story isn’t as strong and the pacing feels a bit choppy. I’m picky and neither felt bothersome to me. You can interpret each chapter as a different scene and it’s fine.
In short? I loved it! I’m a huge fan of the series. Finding a story I like half as much is going to be so hard… if you know of a similar one, pls let me know uhuhu… (╥﹏╥)
Who is this manga for Cover My Scars With Your Kiss is a fantastic piece for romance fans. If you’re looking for a relationship between grown adults who communicate and make things work in the most wholesome way, I’m positive you will like this story.
I’ve always liked Seiichi—he’s clear about what he wants but never pushy. He’s patient and supportive, letting Nao move at his own pace. I also admire Nao for learning to stand up for himself. I especially appreciated that the conflict resolution in volume one was Nao’s doing, not Seiichi stepping in to fix everything. The sequel continues with the same gentle tone. It’s steamy, with a sex scene in nearly every chapter, but light on conflict and mature in its character dynamics. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a sweet and satisfying read when you’re in the mood for something easy.
This is a very sweet conclusion to the original story. Most series of this type emphasis how the relationship is unaccepted or looked down on. While that still plays a role here, and is seen even in the type of vacation and ceremony they choose in the end, they are fortunate that those who do know are supportive and accepting, especially as it's clear the boys have no intention of separating. It's a rather natural progression, though the timeline is vague and may seem somewhat rushed if you're counting days rather than just enjoying the story for what it is.

This is just pure sweetness and smut. There's no real drama or conflict or anything in the way of plot, which makes it less interesting and engaging, but it's still cosy and fun to read.
